Blondie To Headline For X 2013-07-07 by JohnXDoesn't | 17 Comments | One of the best rock 'n roll bands ever will once again hit the road at summers end and drag along a headliner, because X is just a letter. The last two seasons saw Pearl Jam come along for headliner duty through South America and parts of Scandinavia, respectively. This year sees the band back in the U.S. for an end of summer tour and Debbie Harry and Blondie doing the headlining honors. I am sure they are thrilled for the privilege.
The No Principles Tour will see xtheband travel to parts they have not visited in many years, decades, or ever for that matter. With the Top 40 commercial pop of Blondie chumming along, X will be able to bear a full frontal punk rock assault on at least a few unsuspecting baby boomers who want nothing more then to hear Heart Of Glass and make out like it's 1979 all over again. Just like Billy Corgan, only not as sad. But first they will have to bear witness to one of the greatest live acts working today, and a show stealer at every festival they play. John, Exene, Billy and DJ. Don't be left out.
So, hear Blondie and X rip it up on tour this summer. If Clem Burke can still drum, and I think he can, 'ol Deb and the boys might even give X a run for their money some nights. After all, they have the hits. But X has the grit! Catch both on the No Principles Tour this summer, tickets on sale now, or soon. Check local listings for your area. Like when you check for the movies, okay? Every ticket sold will include five NEW songs from Blondie and none from X. Because all the songs X play will be at least 28 years old.
Yup, it's Old School East Coast art school pap Vs Old School West Coast punk rock smack.. Who will come out on top? Well, X marks the spot, of course. Don't miss out.
