Zomby double album & new song 2013-04-25 by TMobotron | 15 Comments | After a silent 2012 (ignoring his constant stream-of-consciousness twitter output), Genre-defying producer Zomby has announced that he will be releasing a double-album of 33 tracks. Considering the vast quantity (and quality) of tracks to his name that have never been officially released, the double-album format should be a perfect fit for the producer. 4AD, the label that Zomby's previous full-length Dedication was also released on to much critical praise, claims the upcoming album With Love "moves seamlessly between the dance floor and after-hours emotional introspection, serving as a love letter to the soulful dance music of his past."
The preview track, which can be streamed at the link below, suggests that rather than being a drastic shift in sound as previous Zomby releases have sometimes been, With Love will be an evolution of Zomby's work on Dedication. Somber piano lines and melancholy 8-bit touches flourish over stuttering hi-hats and bass rumblings to show that Zomby might finally be settling into a sound that's all his own. With Love is set for a June 17th/18th release date.
