Liam Gallagher On Countdown? 2007-02-10 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 3 Comments | Tough-talking Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher may be softening up in his old age- he's in talks to appear on British tea-time wordplay quiz Countdown.
According to British tabloid The Daily Sport, which has in the past brought us such scoops as "London Bus Found Buried In Antarctic" and "Aliens Turned My Son Into A Fish Finger," notoriously terse Liam will make an appearance on the show which tests one's linguistic and mathematical skills.
Liam is set to appear as a one-off guest in "Dictionary Corner," a post of extreme responsibility normally reserved for Northern bingo-hall comedians. He'll be one of five celebrities to occupy the position during the week, resolving any spelling disputes and reciting anecdotes that will have many spitting their tea all over their digestive biscuits.
Co-presenter Carol Vorderman, as quoted by The Sport, said, "Liam loves it and yes, we're in talks about him coming on. I told him I think it will do his cred no end of good."
