trailofdead91: I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning or Lifted...

Probably the former.

I would start with 'I'm Wide Awake It's Morning,' the album 'Lifted' is actually the best but it can be a little hard to digest

Never listened to these guys. Guess this is as good a time as any. Guess I will follow Knott's advice.

So excited for this. Hopefully it's less like Cassadaga and more like Lifted... or I'm Wide Awake.

I'd be happy even if it's as good as Cassadaga, but agreed.

Fuck yes. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck yes. So excited. Not a fan of Conor's solo stuff so I can't wait for this. I pretty much love anything under the Bright Eye's name.

Those wanting lifted... or I'm wide awake, forget it. You already know his music has changed in so many good ways. It will be different. Every Bright Eyes album is different. Just be happy its no doubt going to be good.. Cassadaga, Conor Oberst, Mystic Valley, Monsters of folk. Listen to how his music has drastically matured.

MilesJames you are one of the few that thinks that the "new direction" is better. Beer me "I'm Wide Awake" and "Lifted" over any of the new stuff anyday.

Cassadaga took a while to grow but it's really damn good.

If it's like that Mystic Valley band record I'll vomit everywhere but I'm sure it won't be. That shit was terrible.

I see a lot of love for "Wide Awake" and "Lifted" on here, but no love for "Fevers". Really guys? I thought that was easily his best.

Nothing wrong with the songs per se, but I felt that Cassadaga was a little overproduced. Fevers unpolished production on the other hand IMO better captures the feelings conveyed in Conor's lyrics. Anyway this is great news, next year will be a good music year, it seems.
