New Sufjan Stevens song, again.

2010-09-09 by robin | 26 Comments
Sufjan Stevens has given fans further insight into 'The Age of Adz' with "Too Much," a track previously played at shows in 2009, originally coined as "There's Too Much Love" and sporting guitars, electronics and trumpet solos. The studio version is avaliable for free download on his bandcamp and does up the electronics.

"Too Much," the second song from the upcoming record, can be downloaded here. http://sufjanstevens.bandcamp.com/track/too-much

Run of the mill indie pretentious vocals. Not unique at all. So generic.

The "music" however is...odd. I might like it.

I hate when people use the word pretentious in music. It seems you cannot try something without being
pretentious. And how is his voice pretentious?

It's true, his voice is characterized by assumption of dignity and importance.

Hmm, I'm not liking the vocals on this much. They are too... restrained. I liked how much he was pushing his voice on All Delighted People, and even on I walked. Hm...
