I've heard some of the new stuff and it has just been awful. Not anticipating much but I'll check it out.
|
| |
Wow, this is really bad. Like, I'm actually shocked by how bad this is. Jesus.
|
| |
I've never been able to get into the vocals although they have a few songs that are cool (and the music is always pretty cool).
|
| |
This isn't as bad as the other song I heard but that isn't saying much. The second half is a mess with that awful syncopation and he sounds kind of like Jack Black at parts. Not a compliment.
|
| |
I agree that the second half is god awful, but even the first is just boring as hell. There's just no dynamic range displayed anywhere, and not in a compressed-to-hell way, but in a we-didn't-have-the-money-to-properly-record-this-shit way.
|
| |
damn...got real excited then read your guys comments
|
| |
I dunno about this.
|
| |
Gildenlow has always been one of my favorite vocalists, and Pain of Salvation have released some remarkable albums...but this sounds like a huge let down so far. PoS have always been able to re-invent their sounds for each album but starting with Scarsick is doesn't seem to be for the better, they just keep getting weirder and weirder (for lack of a better word). Would love another Concrete Lake or TPE1 but alas.
|
| |
im not too satisfied with this. coming from one of my favorite bands of all time this was a disappointment
|
| |
What the hell happened to these guys man...they went from making every other Prog band look like pussies to becoming a complete parody of the genre. Very very disappointed so far.
|
| |
ouch...
|
| |
Eh, I like it. I like their old stuff better, definitely. It was on another level compared to this. And there IS something about their recent studio recording quality. But, eh, I found it enjoyably for what it is.
|
| |
They reached their peak with BE, they should kept going down that path.
|
| |
BE really was fantastic. It was my favorite for a long time. I'm less sure now if it's my favorite, but it is definitely their master work. Big stuff.
|
| |
pray that Gildenlow has somethinh in mind.Or we all failed(like animae)
|
| |
one of you diehard fans rank their albums for me. i love the perfect element but thats all i've heard
|
| |
get remedy lane next i guess
im not a diehard though
|
| |
remedy lane is simlar to perfect element, but if you want something a bit more experimental then get BE. not as many heavy moments but it is an album you must listen from start to finish to enjoy since the songs sort of transition into each other
|
| |
Personally, i'd rank them:
The Perfect Element Pt. I
One Hour By the Concrete Lake (though I seem to be the only one on sputnik that really enjoys it...it's a major grower)
Remedy Lane
Entropia
Be (definitely very well-orchestrated, but it's a bit much)
Scarsick
|
| |
It's a shame that Pain of Salvation had to go in this direction, they used to be my favorite band. I don't really like this much at all. My excitement for this album pretty much went away after hearing the Linoleum EP they released a little bit ago, and I even enjoyed Scarsick.
|
| |
to bodominflames:i also like One hour by the Concrete lake.hell yeah
|
| |
Apparantly they're trying something new once again (after all this is POS). Can't say I fully enjoyed, but it's not that bad. Still longing for the new album.
|
| |
I just started listening to these guys when their Linoleum EP came out, I loved it. I cant stand their old crap, however. Most of the stuff before Scarsick (with the exception of Be) sounds like a mix of Dream Theater + the other band we are emulating for the specific album. That being said, not at all impressed with Road Salt One atm. I guess 'Darkness of Mine' was pretty good.
|
| |
POS's new album is so disappointing i had such high expectations.. songs like Sleeping under the stars are, although the most loyal to their old stuff, sounds like its been made by half a 5 year old, half a retarded circus clown and half a dinosaur with down-syndrome!
