DevilDriver Update

2009-02-06 by jingledeath | 35 Comments
DEVILDRIVER guitarist Jeff Kendrick has issued the following update:

"Hey guys, I must say that the record is turning out better than I had ever imagined. The tones, performance and overall vibe has been great! I was not so sure about recording in LA, but so far everything has been fucking awesome and we are very blessed and pleased to have Logan Mader producing. In particular, I cannot wait for everyone to hear the guitar tone. WOW! See you guys soon."

Bassist Jon Miller also checked in with the following:

"As of February 1st, I have finished my bass and guitar parts for the fourth DevilDriver studio album. I could not be happier with how well things have gone thus far in regards to the tones of the guitars, bass and drums but especially the vocals. Not only is this the best music we have written but it is Dez's best vocal performance... hands down. Logan Mader is an absolute pleasure to work with. He has brought the best out in all of the members in DD. This album will not disappoint... in fact, it may hurt you."

Last album was pretty meh, they lost the dark edge that made TFOOMH so brilliant. Here's to hoping they won't release another streamlined piece of shit.

Shit, I completely forgot about these guys.

The Last Kind Words was actually pretty solid, but not as good as the two before it.
Not All Who Wander Are Lost, Head On To Heartache and the Axe Shall fall are all great tracks.

I'm interested to hear what their new stuff sounds like when they're done. Cool news. This Message Edited On 02.06.09

Last album was their best I think, S/T was decent but TFOOMH was shit.

Hoping this carries on from where they left off.

TFOOMH was awesome and the last album was good too but I think they're going to continue with their heavier sound on the new album, which isn't a bad thing.

I'm sure this will be generic and boring like their other albums.

Isn't someone in this band (bassist?) getting tang from the In This Moment singer? If that's still the case this record should be filled with inspiration.

They get better with every album, this will likely be at the very least decent. Looking forward to this album.

Have you actually given their albums a full chance? Their sophmore and last album are really solid in the drum and riff department.

Looking forward to this.
