Coheed's actually one of the few bands on this compilation I'm looking forward to.

Metallica's will probably be good too.

This. Also there's a youtube video of Machine Head's cover from Rock in Rio (I believe) and it was surprisingly not too shabby.

Coheed better not kill The Trooper.

I keep trying to imagine Claudio sing it, but can't. Should be quite interesting.

Coheed have been playing that song live for years, i think they'll pull it off. The more important question is why are Machine Head playing Hallowed?!

No way madina lake sound be on here, they are terrible. I'm pretty stocked about hearing Ghostlines.

they pick some weird bands for these, did anyone heard funeral for a friend do damage inc the metallica one? and as far as cophhed goes I think they;ve been playing the tropper live for quite sometime so

Gallows are doing a cover? That should be interesting.

Dream Theater picked the right song to cover imo, love to hear that one.

Like to hear the Metallica and A7X covers too actually. Flash of the Blade is one of Maiden's weakest songs imo, but I think A7X might be able to make the harmonized guitar parts really cool.

A7X is doing one of my fave IM songs, so that should be cool.

Otherwise, only Metallica and Dream Theater interest me. Maybe Devildriver's Wasted Years will be cool.

Fuck Trivium.
Fuck Black Tide.

Trivium are just going to play the song exactly the way it is, but with Heafys so called vocals (even though i like Ascendancy). i doubt the instrumentals will suck from Trivium, just the vocals will ruin the song.

Machine Head is going to massacre Hallowed Be Thy Name, and I can't imagine Shadows hitting Dickinson's highs in Flash of the Blade.

But whatever.

GAH! I love iron maiden, because i hate these kind of "metal" bands. why must they ruin all my favorite songs!

Iced Earth's version of Hallowed Be Thy Name won't be bettered, so why would Machine Head even bother.

Darkane's version of 'Powerslave' is IMO the best Maiden cover out there. Period.

So here's Machine Head's cover that I mentioned above. It's a lot worse than I remembered, mainly the vocals. Oh well I'm sure the rights for the worst covers here will be reserved for Trivium, Fightstar and Madina Lake but this will probably not be too far away.

I actually think Coheed could do The Trooper really well. Trivium will do Iron Maiden good too (they're good musicians, they just can't write their own stuff too well).

Sevenfold sure picked the wrong song though, and Machine Cock doing Hallowed Be Thy Name is laughable.

Alright so Machine Head butchered my all time favorite song (in that youtube vid).
I'd like to hear Coheed do "The Tropper"...I think that'd turn out pretty cool. Fuck the rest.

Sevenfold sure picked the wrong song though

That's probably the best song for them. They'll probably make it a little more faster paced and the guitar duo of Zacky and Synyster would sound awesome in the harmonized parts.

^^^ No need for Powerslave to be covered, Darkane have already done it. And I can't see it being bettered either.

Kerrang sucks as well as most of this cd will suck!

I don't know what you guys are bitching about, the MH cover is pretty good.

Sure, Rob doesn't hit those highs like Bruce does, but he uses restraint, and he doesn't thrash-yell them. He's doing fine with the singing. I wish he used those vocals more.
