Blunt Hates Giving 'Head

2007-10-16 by StreetlightRock | 16 Comments
From Drum Media, Sydney:

Now that contract-free Radiohead have released their In Rainbows directly though their website for whatever the punter wishes to pay for it, with the similarly unencumbered The Charlatans planning to offer their album for free next year, it appears that other large-but-contractless artists are planning to follow suit: both Oasis (who recently released their single Lord Don't Show Me Down exclusively though their site), and Jamiroquai and reportedly following Radiohead's lead with new material in 2008.

James Blunt, on the other hand, was having none of this pay-what-you-think's-fair nonsense, telling The Times: "I don't think they should devalue [music]. I've got to pay a band and a producer and a mixer. I don't know how I'd necessarily pay them if i sold my albums for one p." Yes, the obvious solution occurred to us too.

James Blunt has as much smarts as a dead baby seal. And is just about as sad. In different ways of course.

To bad Radiohead just pwned the fuck out of Blunt by making more money he has seen on one record.

Blunt's first album was great.
But his new album means he doesn't deserve money anyway.

Nothing he has ever done has been great.

It has all been pretty rank.

Radiohead's strategy worked brilliantly for them.

I'm actually the opposite- I think his second album is great, and I'm not a massive fan of Bedlam as an album overall.

Anyway, Blunt does make a point- but he'd still get money through touring and merch etc., right?

Radiohead are rich as hell, they can do what they please.

James Blunt is a fucktard. Devalue music? Does this wanker actually think about what the hell he's saying?
