Hurry Up, Brothers' new album 2021-05-30 by jcurry094 | 5 Comments | Des Moines, IA/Huntington Beach, CA-based post rock band Hurry Up, Brothers recently released their debut record, All is Beautiful. I'm Okay to be Alive. I'm Okay to Die.
For an instrumental record, the band is forthright in the intention of creating a political, activist record. Samples on the crushing "Wading In" call back to Vietnam War-era anti-war protests as well as more recent movements. Musically, the post-rock hallmarks of cascading reverb, tremolo picking, and wall-of-sound climaxes are present, but so are unique moments of metalcore-esque riffing and ambient soundscapes.
