I don't understand Mike Portnoy...he clearly shines in the genre of prog rock, but sounds painfully average in bands like A7X and Adrenaline Mob, yet he prefers to play in those kinds of bands. Play the stuff you're good at and create a good legacy, don't make crappy shit on purpose, ya know. Hopefully, he left AM because he realized this.
