Grammys super group show

2013-02-08 by Kusuriuri | 34 Comments
The 55th annual Grammy Awards is two days away from the moment this is being written, and it
seems like there will be quite the surprise to serve as company for it.
It has been announced that Travis Barker(blink-182), Tom Morello(Rage Against The Machine),
DJ Z-Trip, Chuck D(Public Enemy), and host of the show, LL Cool J, will all be forming
together for the night in a super group performance.
According to Neil Portnow, President and CEO of the RIAA ( Recording Industry Association of
America), this is seemingly done because of LL's place in hip hop history.
He said: “He represents so much history with his work in hip-hop … to this day he’s in it,
he’s respected for it and we thought, ‘gee, it’s right under our noses, let’s do something
with LL and have a lot of fun with that,’ He’s not a hired gun and last year after we did
the nominations show we said, ‘let’s do [something] this year’ and he was up for it.”

Grammys should be about current music.

I enjoy LL Cool J, and this performance should be cool, but it's still fucking random. And Storm, you really want the kind of current music that the Grammys would have chosen? More Rhianna, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, and god knows what else? The current music Sputnik users would like aren't even on their radar.

Which I still find so fucking hard to believe. Not that I'm against the idea but... Wut? That's like the Grammys saying "hey lets get Death Grips to perform". Out of left fucking field.

Anberlin Green Day (only because too many kids want it) Pink Lil B Stone Sour Nas Coheed & Cambria Biffy Clyro Kelly
Clarkson Rihanna Eminem Kanye West Jay Z
ASAP Rocky

I feel this would be totally reasonable.

I see Lil B doing something controversial to get extra attention though so idk if he could get on.

I see like maybe half that list being considered, if that. Plus a chunk of those mentioned performed last year.
