I didn't realize Neige was only 26. That makes Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde and Ecailles de Lune all the more impressive.

I never liked or cared about Lantlos so this doesn't bother me.

Lantlos is a'ight. Not devastating. That live video is pretty lame though. Not the vocals but just the atmosphere of that show is way lacking. No emotion. No connection with the audience.

i love how he made coma sound way doomier and his voice is very powerful (if rough around the edges but that was one of the first times he's ever performed vocals live AND right at the end of the show so he was likely exhausted), if nothing else there's at least a lot of potential in his voice

good news, not to say that neige isn't good, but herbst always struck me as a better composer all
around. Exited for something new!

Herbst is a character, and while Neige didn't have much input on the music, his vocals were a major highlight of .Neon. Agape was a bit lacking, but that part in 'Eribo' after the build when Neige shrieks "I tear off my skin and bow to thee humbly" sends shivers down my spine every time. I am privileged to be able to see Neige play with them for the first and last time at Roadburn 2013.

herbst's vocals are also great, though. they're not as ethereal as neige's (of course), but with more practice he could easily manage to fit on the whole 'french falsetto' style employed by so many blackgaze bands.

lol it really does. that letter was kind of awkwardly written and it seems kind of weird to release a personal message like that to the public. this sucks but oh well, i didn't like their last album much anyway. "these nights were ours" is one of my favorite black metal soungs though. and wow i thought neige was older than 26.

Really weird decision to release this letter to the public, and it wasn't very professional at that. I second/third/fourth the notion that this sounds like a break-up letter. Would've been easier to just say that he didn't want to have to rely on Neige just to play live anymore.

The atmosphere on that live vid definitely sucked. Lantlos is dark and melancholic and not music that should be associated with a light show. :-/
