deadmau5 and Skrillex are both pretty good producers who have such big heads that it's hard for them to make anything that's not homogenous. deadmau5 isn't dubstep and Skrillex is only dubstep with half of his songs.

I'd say you're pretty lucky. My friends that listen to dubstep are completely oblivious that bands like Burial, Clubroot, Swarms, etc even exist within the genre.

also, I never got how Swarms is dubstep. I need to give it an in-depth listen but it more seemed like ambient/downtempo with more bassy drums and the click-clacks that dubstep is so fond of. Gorgeous stuff, tho.

Future garage is just another journalistic term (much like post dubstep) that was created so these journalists could try and understand what they perceived to be "grey areas" within the development of the UK bass scene.
