I listened to the whole thing and it's definitely awesome. "Sleeping Giant" is one of the best songs they've ever done.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Siberian Divide only featured Cedric ona few notes...I'm disappointed.

The song itself wasn't bad, but I want some Cedric.

So-so album for me. Really only listened to it for Cedric and Homme. This Message Edited On 09.04.06

You can't deny their originality though, which is one of the quality that i look for in a band

What exactly do you find original about them? If you do not mind me asking. I have not heard a great deal of the bands music, so by no means am I an expert, but what little I have come across, I did not hear anything that I did not hear before it seemed. This Message Edited On 09.04.06

They revolutionised metal by making jazzy metal pieces with great techniqual parts that no band has done before. They also twisted the fact that most bands have a drummer for beats up-side-down. The guitars make the beats while the drummer goes mad with fast fills and techniqual snare-hithat pieces. They changed the whole metal view.
Just like what Mudvayne did to nu-metal.

I listened to the whole thing, am I allowed to rate it yet, or do I have to wait until it comes out?

This is an amazing album, and I think it tops anything they've done in the past easily. I think I'll review it too Iluvatar, if that's all right.

Hell, I might even review it. I have a feeling that this album is going to be killer. I haven't finished listneing to the whole thing yet.

The concept of Mastodon making a 22 minute song is orgasmic.

The only song I havnt finished listening to yet is Pendulous Skin. A 22-minute song... this will be amazing.

Sleeping Giant is just plain amazing. I love how they didn't go as minimalist with this album, and brought more crushing riffs to the foreground. This is amazing. Quite possibly a classic.

Unlucky guys it's not actually 22 minutes. It's got like 18 minutes of silence before a secret track is played at the end.

I've started writing a review for this. Looks like I'll be up against quite a lot of competition.

Wow, I'm really digging this.
I saw them live a couple months ago, but didn't think too much of it; now I wish they would swing by again. Oh well.

Sleeping Giant is actually great.
