07.24.23 | Spiderland is post-rock imho
|

07.24.23 | Drop the Mars Volta, replace it with Unsane or some other B-list-but-we-still-love-it band, put an album with less hideous art at the end of the list, and this is aight
Spiderland owed nothing to post-rock (which obvs did not exist) and everything to post-hardcore, either label works |
RadioSuicide
07.24.23 | good list. never liked PMFS aside from their s/t, but the rest are essential or close to it |

07.24.23 | wait why are we getting rid of TMV??? |

07.25.23 | sick list, however I don't know if it is of our time per se as they are all around 20+ years old now! but they don't really make em like these anymore |
Storm In A Teacup
07.25.23 | "Our time" doesnt have to mean the present. Probably talking about their time back in the day many decades ago. Current "our time" would not be able to include albums released before 2003. |

07.25.23 | "put an album with less hideous art at the end of the list, and this is aight"
v nicely played, great pick
"wait why are we getting rid of TMV???"
because they ain't phxc and that album is a ham sandwich |
Storm In A Teacup
07.25.23 | This definitely does not have the top 20 posthardcore albums of the last 20 years. Also the previous generation where much of these albums reside...there are still a lot of missing albums from that time. The top ones too. |
Storm In A Teacup
07.25.23 | Relevancy 1/5
Depth 4/5
Taste 3/5
For its time 3.5/5
For now 3/5
Overall 2/5 list
Suggested new title

07.25.23 | "The top ones too"
like what? would add ATDI, maybe Ink and Dagger, definitely Number Girl and Ling Tosite Sigure, maybe mwY and a token Blood Brothers release, but this is already a much better list than the actual top phxc albums of the last 20 years lol |

07.25.23 | Yeah I don't think our time has to mean right now, but I reckon it would generally mean of the era, and 20+ year old stuff in a genre that has maybe existed for 40 if you are generous is not this era. Not that it matters because the records are amazing.
90's to early 2000's post-hardcore has an incredibly deep pool of great stuff, so always more that will be missed out also. |
Storm In A Teacup
07.25.23 | Uh johnny. This list is 20 to 40 years not last 20 |
