Color me impressed; I was not expecting this to be so good. The track "Standing Tall" is a strange, yet awesome little bit of sonic experimentation for a band that been around since the dawn of the NWOBHM. |

The material here is definitely a big step up from their past few releases, but that 86 minute run-time is PUSHING it. Thankfully, most of the songs are short, punchy, and to the point; there just needed to be fewer of them. |
Diamond Head Diamond Head | 3.5 |
Metal De Facto Land of the Rising Sun - Part 1 | 3.5 |
Blitzkrieg Unholy Trinity | 4.0 |
Hammer King König und Kaiser | 3.0 |
Wanted to give this a 3.5, but this album features one of the most blatantly obvious instances of plagiarism I've ever heard. The song 'War Hammer' is a note for note copy of 'Midnight Sun' by Helloween. |
Blitzkrieg A Time Of Changes | 4.5 |
How am I just now discovering this band? I never even knew they existed |
Diamond Head What's in Your Head? | 2.0 |

Okay, so apparently that dude who got 4th on American Idol a while back decided to make a trad/power metal album. It's generic as fuck, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't fun. |

Haunter (BR) Tales of the Seven Seas | 3.0 |
Judas Priest Invincible Shield | 4.5 |
While not quite on the level of Firepower, Invincible Shield is still an incredibly impressive showcase of pure metal magic from a band that has been kicking for over half a century. Do yourself a favor and skip those bonus tracks, though.r |

There are some really good songs on here, but I'm actually shocked by how slopping the drumming is. This is like post-2010 Niko McBrain levels of sloppy. If that issue had been fixed, this would be be something special. |
Darkthrone Dark Thrones and Black Flags | 3.0 |
Darkthrone F.O.A.D. | 2.0 |

Zoned out after track 5. Better than Nocturnes I guess, but that's not saying much. |
Darkthrone Goatlord | 2.0 |
I can see why this wasn't released. A few neat riffs here and there, but most of it sounds like sloppy jam sessions. |
Virgin Steele Nocturnes of Hellfire & Damnation | 1.5 |
The vocals ruin anything this album had going for it. I'm not even sure how Defeis managed to make some of these inhuman moans. He should have just stuck to the hoarse whispering he did on the previous release. |

No clue what they were trying to do here, but it failed miserably. |

A glorious little hidden gem from the early 80s. The band isn't super tight performance wise, but the spirit and love for the genre are on full display, and it's extremely charming. Imagine a more downtempo Manilla Road with better vocals. |

I really don't understand why people are hating on the vocals so much. He sounds just like he did on Blood In, Blood Out... The material on here is stronger than the stuff on that album too. Their best since Tempo. |

I stan Metallica's newer material, but this album isn't cutting it. The lack of variety is what kills it for me. There just isn't enough going on sonically to warrant that ludicrous 87 minute runtime. |

Really solid. My main critique would be the lack of memorable hooks, but what we are given is still more than satisfactory. Excited to hear what these guys cook up in the years to come. |

A clear focus and sonic direction puts this above Song Machine by a considerable amount, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. As usual, the album has too many features, most of which are not crucial and add almost nothing to the tracks themselves. Skinny Ape is a fun track though. |

High energy power metal with a distinct focus on melody and hooks. Among the best 2022 PM albums released thus far. |
Grave Digger The Clans Will Rise Again | 3.5 |
Palantir Chasing a Dream | 4.0 |
I enjoyed this quite a bit. Reminds me of vintage Stratovarius with it's emphasis on melody and instrumentation, but with a refreshing amount of restraint which is hard to come by these days. |
Grave Digger Ballads of a Hangman | 3.0 |
Kerion Cloudriders: Age of Cyborgs | 2.0 |

Xentrix For Whose Advantage? | 4.0 |
Grave Digger Rheingold | 4.0 |

KeyDragon I Dance With Dragons | 1.0 |
One of the most uniquely awful albums I've ever heard. Bafflingly horrendous. |
Kingdom Come Hands Of Time | 3.0 |
Star Eternal Atlas | 2.5 |
Probably the most okay thing I've heard all year. The Earth is no better or worse because this exists. |
Glasya Attarghan | 2.5 |
I respect the ambition, but it's severely lacking in memorable moments. |
Kingdom Come In Your Face | 4.5 |
Kingdom Come Kingdom Come | 3.5 |
Unlucky Morpheus evolution | 4.0 |
WTF is this weeb shit, and why is it so good? |
Mentalist Empires Falling | 3.5 |
Enjoyably cheesy. It's charming lack of self-conceit really won me over in the end. Just a group of boys making dumb, fun trad/power metal. |
Terra Atlantica Beyond the Borders | 3.0 |
Serviceable pirate metal with a few highlights, and a few parts that made me cringe. |
Heaven's Guard Pathfinder | 1.5 |

Michael Romeo War of the Worlds / Pt. 2 | 3.5 |
Impellitteri The Nature of the Beast | 4.0 |
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava | 3.0 |
Solid King Gizzard release, but a far cry from their previous release. Not a single surprise to be found. |
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Laminated Denim | 2.5 |
Hypertension is good, but that first song is about as boring as Gizz can get. |
Sacrifice Apocalypse Inside | 3.0 |
Avantasia A Paranormal Evening With the Moonflower Society | 3.5 |
Another solid offering, but I think Tobi is getting a bit too comfortable with his songwriting. |
Impellitteri Venom | 4.0 |

Civil War Invaders | 4.0 |
The album Sabaton wished they made in 2022. |

What a boring little album. |
Stratovarius Survive | 4.5 |
Survive? More like thrive. One of Stratovarius's greatest albums to date. |
Visions Of Atlantis Pirates | 2.5 |
The orchestral arrangements are great, but the songs just aren't memorable in any way shape or form. |
Queensryche Digital Noise Alliance | 3.5 |

This album fucks. |
Imperial Age New World | 3.0 |
Seven Kingdoms Zenith | 2.5 |
Meh incarnate |
Silent Knight (AUS) Full Force | 3.5 |
Dynazty Final Advent | 4.0 |
Wtf is this user average? This is great. More bands that sound like Beast In Black are always welcome. |

Nothing you need to listen to |
Tankard Pavlov's Dawgs | 3.5 |
Theocracy Ghost Ship | 4.0 |
Slipknot The End, So Far | 3.5 |
Nowhere near as good as the last album, but still a fulfilling experience. Glad they are keeping it interesting by expanding their sound in new directions. Tracks like Adderall sound like nothing they've released thus far. |
Emerald Sun Kingdom of Gods | 3.0 |
Theocracy As the World Bleeds | 3.5 |
Theocracy Mirror of Souls | 4.5 |
Whitesnake Forevermore | 4.5 |
The fact David Coverdale released an album THIS good in 2011 is nothing short of astounding. Every single song slaps, and the overall product stands toe to toe with their best records. |
Whitesnake Good To Be Bad | 3.5 |
Whitesnake Restless Heart | 3.5 |
Whitesnake Slip of the Tongue | 4.0 |
Whitesnake Whitesnake | 5.0 |

Whitesnake Ready An' Willing | 3.5 |
Night Ranger Seven | 2.5 |
Laaz Rockit Know Your Enemy | 3.5 |
Whitesnake Lovehunter | 3.0 |
Artwork is better than the album itself. The album itself is just okay. |
Laaz Rockit No Stranger to Danger | 3.5 |
Whitesnake Trouble | 3.0 |
Pretty unremarkable, but it does have some standouts like 'Nighthawk' and 'The Time is Right For Love'. if you are in the mood for a solid collection of memorable riffs, this will do the trick. |
Whitesnake Snakebite | 2.5 |
Slightly below average blues rock. Skip it. |
Night Ranger Neverland | 2.0 |
What the fuck is this |
Night Ranger Feeding Off The Mojo | 4.0 |
Laaz Rockit City's Gonna Burn | 3.0 |
Alcatrazz V | 3.0 |
I'll be honest, I'm probably not gonna listen to this. Graham Bonnet is an amazing vocalist,
and the main reason I listened to Alcatrazz in the first place. The fact he was replaced by
the undisputed king of generic metal vocals, Doogie White is a fuckin' sin.
*update*
I hate saying this, but this is actually kinda decent. Sounds more like classic Rainbow than
Alcatrazz though. |
Sinner Brotherhood | 3.5 |
I don't know why I'm rating this so high. It's one of the most generic things I've heard all year, but it's an enjoyably inviting type of generic. It's like that one story your grandpa told you 100 times but it doesn't bother you because it's a good story.r |
Night Ranger Man In Motion | 3.0 |
Pantera Reinventing the Steel | 2.5 |
This would be a 2 if it wasn't for the fact that Goddamn Electric is one of the few post-Cowboys Pantera tracks I actually enjoy. |
Night Ranger Big Life | 2.5 |
Pantera The Great Southern Trendkill | 3.0 |
I don't mind this one too much. It's certainly their heaviest release, which fits the edgelord persona they attempted to create for themselves over the past couple records. |
Alcatrazz Dangerous Games | 3.5 |
Night Ranger 7 Wishes | 4.0 |
Night Ranger Midnight Madness | 4.0 |
Alcatrazz No Parole from Rock 'n' Roll | 4.0 |
Night Ranger Dawn Patrol | 4.5 |
Pantera Vulgar Display of Power | 2.5 |
The album where Pantera dived headfirst into try-hard edgelord territory. Thankfully there is JUST enough decent riffing for me to give it a pass. The riff on Walk is fucking terrible though. |
Pantera Cowboys from Hell | 3.5 |
Ozzy Osbourne Patient Number 9 | 3.0 |
While I don't think it's anything amazing, it does warm my heart to see veteran artists like Ozzy get their creative inspiration back so late in their careers. |
Pantera Power Metal | 4.0 |
Great album to end a career on. Shame they never made any more music after this... |
Mastodon Crack the Skye | 4.0 |
Veonity Elements of Power | 3.0 |
KMFDM Hyena | 3.0 |
what that dog doin |
Pantera I Am the Night | 3.0 |
Come On Eyes is a fuckin' bop. |

Mastodon Blood Mountain | 3.5 |
Savage Master Those Who Hunt At Night | 3.0 |
Aquilla Mankind's Odyssey | 2.5 |
U2 Songs of Experience | 2.0 |
Pantera Projects in the Jungle | 3.0 |
A perfectly acceptable 80's metal record with the misfortune of having the Pantera name slapped on the cover. |
Mastodon Leviathan | 4.0 |
U2 Songs of Innocence | 2.5 |
Pantera Metal Magic | 2.5 |
I know it isn't metal of the confederate wife beating persuasion, but it's actually a pretty
listenable record in it's own right. |
Fellowship The Saberlight Chronicles | 4.0 |
Happiest metal album ever. Can't help but smile by how wholesome it is. |
Eternal Ascent Reclamation | 3.0 |
U2 No Line on the Horizon | 2.0 |
Queensryche Condition Human | 3.5 |
Sepultura The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart | 3.5 |

Blind Guardian never misses. |

Sepultura Kairos | 2.5 |
Sepultura A-Lex | 3.0 |
Queensryche Frequency Unknown (Tate's Queensryche) | 1.5 |

This album made me a born-again virgin, and I'm not even upset about it. |
Queensryche Dedicated to Chaos | 1.0 |
What the fuck. |
Sepultura Dante XXI | 3.0 |
Ibaraki Rashomon | 4.0 |
Gloryhammer Tales from the Kingdom of Fife | 3.5 |
U2 How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb | 3.0 |
Queensryche American Soldier | 2.5 |
At least this one felt like it had a little passion behind it |
Sepultura Roorback | 2.0 |
48 minutes of nothing. My entire existence is exactly the same as it was before I gave this listen. I literally have NO emotions positive or negative towards this album. |
U2 All That You Can't Leave Behind | 3.5 |
Not sure if I'm just in a good mood, but I actually really enjoyed this. |
Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime II | 2.0 |
This shouldn't fucking exist. |
Sepultura Nation | 2.0 |
Okay, this one sucks |
U2 Pop | 2.5 |
Sepultura Against | 3.0 |
Underrated for sure. The boys sound tight as ever, and Derek Green's vocals are a big step up from Cavalera's. Nothing mind-blowing to be found here, but still one of the few groove metal albums I don't immediately want to shut off. |
Queensryche Tribe | 2.0 |
Muse Will of the People | 3.5 |
Lame, but in a really fun way. I definitely enjoyed it. |
Machine Head Of Kingdom and Crown | 2.5 |
Lame, and not in a fun way. Some of these lyrics are downright embarrassing. |
U2 Zooropa | 3.0 |
Queensryche Hear in the Now Frontier | 2.0 |
Boring, inoffensive, lifeless garbage. |
Sepultura Roots | 3.5 |
U2 Achtung Baby | 2.5 |
Queensryche Promised Land | 4.0 |
Sepultura Chaos A.D. | 4.0 |

Well that was boring |
Sepultura Beneath the Remains | 4.5 |
ZZ Top La Futura | 4.0 |
U2 War | 3.5 |
Sepultura Schizophrenia | 4.0 |
U2 October | 2.5 |
Uh oh... Hope this is just a sophomore slump, and shit picks up after this. |
ZZ Top Mescalero | 3.5 |
Sepultura Morbid Visions | 3.5 |
Flotsam and Jetsam The End of Chaos | 4.0 |
U2 Boy | 3.0 |
And so begins the torture. A very acceptable album, and I have a feeling it's probably going to be one of their better releases. |
Mekong Delta Tales of a Future Past | 3.0 |
ZZ Top XXX | 2.0 |
Flotsam and Jetsam Flotsam and Jetsam | 4.0 |
Amon Amarth The Great Heathen Army | 3.0 |
Starts off pretty weak and slowly gets better as it goes along. Far from amazing, but definitely better than their previous release. |
Municipal Waste Electrified Brain | 3.5 |
I'm with Panzer on this one; what the fuck is wrong with the art? It's basically just a reinterpretation of the artwork featured on the singles released for Seventh Son by Iron Maiden. |
ZZ Top Rhythmeen | 3.5 |
Mekong Delta In a Mirror Darkly | 3.5 |
Flotsam and Jetsam Ugly Noise | 3.0 |
Not sure why this one gets so much hate. Sounds fine to me. |
ZZ Top Antenna | 3.0 |
Flotsam and Jetsam The Cold | 3.5 |
First 2 songs are meh, but the rest is really solid. |
Mekong Delta Wanderer on the Edge of Time | 4.0 |
Different for sure, but in a good way. Only took em 20+ years, but Mekong finally started incorporating melody into their music. |
Loudness Sunburst | 4.0 |
Hands down their best release since Soldier of Fortune. They may have had an embarrassingly long rough patch, but this record shows they still have what it takes to release an awesome album. |
ZZ Top Recycler | 3.5 |
Mekong Delta Lurking Fear | 4.5 |
The peak of thrash comebacks right here. Probably the greatest thing they've ever released. |
Flotsam and Jetsam Dreams of Death | 2.0 |
ZZ Top Afterburner | 4.0 |
Flotsam and Jetsam My God | 3.0 |
Mekong Delta Pictures at an Exhibition | 2.5 |
Instrumental records do nothing for me, unless it's synthwave. |
ZZ Top Eliminator | 4.5 |
ZZ Top Degüello | 4.0 |
Magnum The Monster Roars | 3.5 |
Mekong Delta Visions Fugitives | 4.0 |

Flotsam and Jetsam High | 2.5 |
Magnum Lost on the Road to Eternity | 3.5 |
Anacrusis Manic Impressions | 4.0 |
Boston Life, Love & Hope | 2.0 |
What the fuck is this? Where are the riffs? The guitar harmonies? Songs that actually rock? Literally every song is a love song and it's pissing me off. |
Flotsam and Jetsam Drift | 3.0 |
Flotsam and Jetsam Cuatro | 3.0 |
Magnum Sacred Blood "Divine" Lies | 3.5 |

Huey Lewis and the News Weather | 3.5 |
Flotsam and Jetsam No Place for Disgrace | 3.5 |
Boston Corporate America | 2.5 |
Huey Lewis and the News Soulsville | 3.0 |
Solid covers album that tackles some classic tracks in a respectful manner, but not essential listening by any means. |
Magnum The Visitation | 3.5 |
Rainbow Stranger in Us All | 3.5 |
Even with rock's most generic frontman Doogie White at the mic, Blackmore still managed to cobble together a solid sendoff to his legendary side project. |
Flotsam and Jetsam Doomsday for the Deceiver | 4.5 |
Magnum Into the Valley of the Moonking | 4.0 |
Toxik Dis Morta | 4.0 |
Wow, I wasn't expecting this to be so good. Even against their other two outstanding classic records this holds up. I know Breaking Class may have left a bad taste in your mouth, but I assure you these guys got their shit together and delivered us a smorgasbord of unorthodox thrash goodness.r |
Rainbow Bent Out of Shape | 3.5 |
Rainbow Straight Between the Eyes | 3.5 |
ZZ Top Rio Grande Mud | 3.5 |
Magnum Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow | 4.0 |
ZZ Top ZZ Top's First Album | 3.0 |
Magnum Brand New Morning | 3.5 |
Rainbow Difficult to Cure | 3.5 |
Destruction Under Attack | 2.5 |
Destruction Spiritual Genocide | 2.0 |
First and last track are good, and that's it. About as by-the-numbers as you can get. |
Rainbow Down To Earth | 4.0 |
Why do people diss this album so much? Is it because Dio isn't on it? Graham Bonnet and Ritchie fuckling kill it on this record. |
Magnum Breath of Life | 3.5 |
Destruction Day of Reckoning | 3.5 |
Journey Freedom | 4.0 |
I was not expecting this to be any good at all, yet here I am giving this a 4. Even though its 20 minutes too long, this is probably their strongest record since Frontiers in 85. |
Rainbow Long Live Rock 'n' Roll | 4.5 |
Magnum Rock Art | 3.5 |
Destruction Mad Butcher | 4.5 |
I absolutely dumbfounded how 4 of the best tracks this band ever recorded were never included on an actual full length release. |
Magnum Sleepwalking | 3.0 |
Jorn Over the Horizon Radar | 2.5 |
Love Jorn, but these songs are stock as hell. |
UFO The Visitor | 2.5 |
Destruction D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. | 2.5 |

Kreator Violent Revolution | 4.0 |
Manilla Road Mysterium | 4.0 |
Manilla Road Playground of the Damned | 3.0 |
Manilla Road Gates of Fire | 3.5 |
Kreator Endorama | 4.0 |
They went for something different, and in my opinion it really paid off. I'll take this over the generic dogshit they started cranking out after Coma of Souls any day. |
Manilla Road Mark of the Beast | 3.0 |
Really solid psychedelic rock, it's just a shame I don't really enjoy that genre. With that being said, this is much better than the album they released in its place. |
Kreator Outcast | 3.0 |
Manilla Road Voyager | 3.0 |
Kreator Cause for Conflict | 2.0 |
sucks |
Manilla Road Spiral Castle | 3.0 |
Skull Fist Paid in Full | 3.5 |
Van Halen A Different Kind of Truth | 3.0 |
I remember absolutely hating this album back in the day, but on my latest relisten I actually kinda dig it. DLR sounds kinda rough, but there are some quality tunes on here, especially on the second half with tracks like Outta Space and Stay Frosty. |
Kreator Renewal | 2.0 |
Seventh Wonder The Testament | 3.5 |
So much better than their previous album. |
Manilla Road Atlantis Rising | 3.5 |
Van Halen Van Halen III | 1.5 |
Manilla Road The Circus Maximus | 3.5 |
Kreator Coma of Souls | 4.5 |
Fuck Extreme Aggression, THIS is Kreator's magnum opus. |
Manilla Road The Courts of Chaos | 4.5 |
Although albums like Mystification and The Deluge are great, this album right here was the moment where Manilla Road took their sound to the next level. Not quite as heavy as their earlier material, but far more satisfying in my humble opinion. |
Kreator Extreme Aggression | 3.0 |
Extremely aggressive, and extremely overrated. |
Manilla Road Out of the Abyss | 3.0 |
Manilla Road Mystification | 4.0 |
Kreator Terrible Certainty | 4.0 |

I unironically love the song Pizza Power |
Manilla Road Crystal Logic | 4.0 |
Kreator Hate Über Alles | 3.5 |
Not their strongest release, but nowhere near a dud. Other than Overkill and these guys, you'd be hard pressed to find a classic thrash act putting out music of this quality. |

if you say so |
Tool 10,000 Days | 3.0 |

Angra Temple of Shadows | 4.5 |
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Omnium Gatherum | 4.5 |
Long as hell, but totally worth it. So many great ideas and sounds present here, and all of them work surprisingly well. The fact that KGLW can pull off two fun rap numbers just goes to show that there isn't a single genre they tackle convincingly. |
Steeler (DE) Undercover Animal | 4.0 |
ah hell ya brother. This shit kinda rips. |

Axel Rudi Pell Wild Obsession | 4.0 |
Am I missing something here? This thing is a certified slapper |
Toto Mindfields | 3.0 |
This album falls to an issue a lot of bands were dealing with in the mid to late 90s. CD's made it possible to fit more content onto a disc, so bands just started cramming way too much fucking music into their LPs. Some good stuff on here, but God its way too fucking long. |

I fucking hate progressive rock, but this one didn't bug me for some reason. Actually kinda enjoyed it. |

Easily one of the top 5 power metal albums of all time. Absolutely incredible final installment to an already amazing trilogy of albums. |
Virgin Steele The Marriage of Heaven and Hell: Part II | 4.5 |
Petra Petra Praise 2 | 2.5 |
Virgin Steele The Marriage of Heaven And Hell: Part I | 4.5 |

I usually love a good throwback metal record, but the material on here is beyond forgettable. Sick artwork and band name though |
Rammstein Untitled | 4.0 |
Rammstein Zeit | 3.5 |
I love the fact that this band has the capability to release beautifully constructed, emotional tracks like Zeit, then turn around and stick a song with an immature title like "Fat Tits" on the same album. Absolutely glorious. |
Virgin Steele Life Among the Ruins | 3.0 |
It's a decent cock-rock/metal record with a few fun tracks. My biggest issue comes from the dogshit track order. Who's decision was it to make the last FOUR tracks consecutive ballads? |
Petra No Doubt | 3.0 |
Virgin Steele Age of Consent | 4.0 |
If ANY of you mfs don't cry for Pompeii, I'll give you something to cry about. |

Honestly, this was an improvement for me. This one feels just a tad more inspired than the previous release. |
Petra Never Say Die | 2.5 |
Hallas Isle of Wisdom | 3.0 |
I like their sound, but this got a little too proggy for me. I'd probably give it a stronger rating if the songwriting was a little less self-indulgent. |
Petra Washes Whiter Than | 2.0 |
Petra Petra | 2.5 |
Petra Come And Join Us | 2.5 |
Poltergeist (CHE) Depression | 4.0 |
One of those albums I listened to because I liked the cover art. Great artwork, and great record. |
Destruction Diabolical | 3.5 |
Definitely a step in the right direction. They actually managed stick in a couple killer
tracks and few memorable riffs this time around. Standard, but solid modern thrash. |

Their last album was decent, but this is a definite improvement. The boys knocked it out of the park with this one. |
Krokus Round 13 | 3.0 |
Krokus To Rock or Not to Be | 3.5 |
I really don't understand the hate boner Sputnik has for this band. It's not groundbreaking, but it is still enjoyable hard rock. |

I understand the appeal, it's just not for me. |
Autograph That's the Stuff | 4.0 |
Krokus Stampede | 3.5 |

Black Sabbath Born Again | 3.5 |
I don't give a shit if Gillan doesn't fit the band or how shitty the artwork is. This album has a song called "Digital Bitch", I'm kind of required to like it. |
Black Sabbath The Eternal Idol | 3.5 |
Krokus Krokus | 1.5 |
This is boring as fuck, so fans of prog rock are gonna love it. |
Crystal Ball Crysteria | 3.0 |
Black Sabbath Seventh Star | 3.0 |
I love how every incarnation of Sabbath sounds unique and distinct from one another. I'd be lying if I said I don't have a soft spot for this one. Second half is pretty weak, but side 1 is killer. |
Helloween Chameleon | 2.5 |
HammerFall Hammer of Dawn | 4.0 |
Wait, this is actually good? I was convinced these guys were gonna release middling albums for the rest of their career, but this was a very pleasant surprise. No Son of Odin is probably one of the best songs these guys have ever recorded. |
Ghost (SWE) Impera | 2.5 |
Side one is impeccable, and has easily some of the bands strongest tracks to date. Side 2 however, is pretty much irredeemable and features undoubtably the worst handful of songs the band has ever recorded. "Darkness At the Heart of My Love" makes my fucking skin crawl. |
Gorillaz Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez | 3.0 |
A slightly better version of Humanz. Not sure why this one gets so much love, pretty devoid of anything memorable. |
Black Sabbath Never Say Die! | 3.5 |
This is just a solid hard rock record. Compared to early Sabbath it's not impressive, but on it's own merits its really enjoyable. |
Allen Lande The Great Divide | 4.0 |
Black Sabbath Technical Ecstasy | 2.5 |
I rarely ever chastise a band for softening their sound as long as the music they write is good. The music here isn't BAD, it's just insanely forgettable. |
Sabaton The War To End All Wars | 3.0 |
A far cry from their excellent previous album, but it's still really enjoyable. Sabaton always manages to put a smile on my face. |

This is actually much better than I remember. Maybe its because it followed up the shit-heap "Death Row", but this was actually pretty enjoyable. |
Brazen Abbot Live And Learn | 4.5 |
Glenn Hughs and Goran Edman were in an heavy AOR band together? This is awesome! How have I never heard of this?! |
Accept Death Row | 2.0 |
Udo's reunion with Accept featured one good album, one mediocre album, and one terrible album. This is the terrible one. |
Lizzy Borden Visual Lies | 3.5 |
Lizzy Borden Master of Disguise | 3.5 |
Accept Objection Overruled | 3.5 |

Demon Heart of Our Time | 2.0 |
The fuck is this shit, Demon? The Carpenters sound hardcore compared to this weaksauce. |
Anthem Heraldic Device | 4.0 |
Demon British Standard Approved | 2.5 |
I know fans of prog rock are gonna love this because it's so fucking boring. |
Tygers Of Pan Tang Noises From the Cathouse | 2.0 |
I'm really starting to regret giving this discog a complete listen. |
Demon The Plague | 3.0 |
Commendable attempt at a prog-concept record, but I do think the band bit off a little more than they could chew. |
Tygers Of Pan Tang Mystical | 1.0 |
Quite possibly the worst "comeback" album I've ever heard. If the material here is what enticed them to reform, then they definitely should have remained broken up. Head-scratchingly bad. |
Tygers Of Pan Tang Burning in the Shade | 2.0 |
Burning in the shit. |
Voivod Synchro Anarchy | 4.0 |
I don't think Voivod have any bad albums left in them. I guarantee that every new record they release from here to their retirement will be absolute bangers. |
Tygers Of Pan Tang The Wreck-Age | 2.5 |
Tygers Of Pan Tang The Cage | 2.5 |
Praying Mantis Gravity | 4.0 |
Probably the band's most creative and varied release to date. Covers a lot of sonic ground, but still manages to be a cohesive package. |

Tygers Of Pan Tang Crazy Nights | 3.0 |
Praying Mantis Sanctuary | 3.5 |
Tygers Of Pan Tang Spellbound | 4.0 |

I preferred The Nothing, but this is still decent. |
Praying Mantis Forever in Time | 4.0 |
Tygers Of Pan Tang Wild Cat | 2.5 |
Fantastic album artwork, mediocre music. |
Saxon Carpe Diem | 3.0 |
Definitely a disappointment for me. I LOVED Thunderbolt, but the material on here just isn't all that memorable. Very mild recommendation. |
Praying Mantis To the Power of Ten | 3.5 |
Praying Mantis A Cry For The New World | 3.5 |
Praying Mantis Predator In Disguise | 4.5 |
Good stuff! I come back to this one a lot. It hits that sweet spot of cheesy melodic goodness that I can't get enough of. Tracks like 'Can't See the Angels' and 'Borderline' are immortal jams. |
Praying Mantis Throwing Shapes (as Stratus) | 2.5 |
It's okay |
Iron Maiden The Final Frontier | 3.0 |
Side one is excellent and contains some late-career gems, but dear God that second half is boring. Sticking five 7+ minute tracks back to back should be punishable by law. |
Iron Maiden A Matter of Life and Death | 2.5 |
A Matter of Life and Dearth |
Faith No More King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime | 3.5 |
Mike goes fuckin' nuts on this album. Not my favorite, but it is still pretty fun. |
Huey Lewis and the News Hard at Play | 4.0 |
Hm, I was expecting this to be a piece of shit based on the user scores, but I really enjoyed this. 11 tracks of the feel good pop-rock I know and love from Huey and the Boys. Couple Days Off is a HARD jam. |
Praying Mantis Time Tells No Lies | 4.0 |
Sinner Santa Muerte | 3.5 |
Sinner Tequila Suicide | 4.0 |
Praying Mantis Katharsis | 3.5 |
AOR with double bass? Yes please. |

Sinner Bottom Line | 3.0 |
Huey Lewis and the News Small World | 3.0 |
Sinner Respect | 2.5 |
W.A.S.P. Golgotha | 4.0 |
This is so solid. Dying For the World, Dominator and Babylon proved that W.A.S.P. were still a force to be reckoned with and Golgotha basically cemented them as living legends. I usually disapprove of bands taking themselves too seriously, but Blackie pulls it off with flying colors. Hopefully this isn't the last record they release, but if it is, it's a great note to go out on. |
W.A.S.P. Babylon | 3.5 |
Sinner No More Alibis | 3.5 |
W.A.S.P. Dominator | 4.0 |
Apt title |
Sinner Dangerous Charm | 3.5 |
Hey, this is actually an improvement! Concrete Jungle kinda slaps. |
Sinner Comin' Out Fighting | 3.0 |
I don't think this band will ever release a record that goes above or below a 3. They are perpetually "just okay". |
W.A.S.P. The Neon God: Part 2 - The Demise | 3.0 |
Sinner Touch of Sin | 3.0 |
W.A.S.P. The Neon God: Part 1 - The Rise | 3.0 |
W.A.S.P. Dying for the World | 3.5 |
Sinner Danger Zone | 3.0 |
Exciter The Dark Command | 2.5 |
If you're dying for painfully generic thrash, The Dark Command is just what the doctor ordered. |
Cradle of Filth The Principle of Evil Made Flesh | 2.5 |
Sinner Fast Decision | 2.5 |
Not sure why I decided to listen to this band's entire discography. I guess it just feels good to listen to a band that has practically no fanbase; makes me feel special. |
W.A.S.P. Unholy Terror | 3.5 |
Testament Dark Roots of Earth | 3.0 |
Much better than remember this being, but I'm still not crazy about it. The first half is great, but that second half is a longwinded bore. |
Sinner Wild 'n Evil | 3.0 |
W.A.S.P. Helldorado | 3.0 |
Testament The Formation of Damnation | 4.0 |
Huey Lewis and the News Picture This | 3.5 |
The Weeknd Dawn FM | 3.5 |
I actually love The Weeknd, but I was kinda dreading listening to this. I was worried the oversaturation of 80's nostalgia the we've been subjected to for the past 5 years would ruin this album, but I was pleasantly surprised. The style on this record feels less like a gimmick and more like a genuine attempt at updating that late 70's early 80's disco/R&B sound. I also think the fact that I don't have to call in sick for work to finish the entire album in one sitting really helped with that. I can't stress how refreshing it is for a mainstream artist to release an album without 100 songs and 25 bonus tracks. |
W.A.S.P. Kill, Fuck, Die | 3.5 |
Testament The Gathering | 4.0 |
Testament Demonic | 2.0 |
This album doesn't suck because it's death metal. It sucks because it's BAD death metal. |
W.A.S.P. Still Not Black Enough | 3.5 |
W.A.S.P. The Crimson Idol | 4.5 |
Testament Low | 3.5 |
The general consensus is that The Ritual was the band selling out, and Low is a return to form, but I feel it's the other way around. If anything this album deliberately sounds like Pantera worship, while The Ritual has it's own unique brand of heavy metal. With that being said, Low is still immensely better than anything Pantera released post-CFH. |
Testament Souls of Black | 3.0 |
Cheap Trick In Another World | 3.5 |
Sabire Gates Ajar | 4.5 |
The best modern trad-metal I've heard in years. Do yourself a favor and check this out; these guys are the real deal. |
Hitten Triumph & Tragedy | 3.5 |
Saxon Battering Ram | 3.5 |
Saxon Sacrifice | 3.5 |
Saxon Call to Arms | 4.0 |
Saxon Into the Labyrinth | 3.0 |
Into the Labyrinth is the first and only Saxon album from the 2000's that I would consider just okay. I rarely ever hark on a record for being "over-produced", but this album is definitely missing the bite of their previous 5 releases.. |
Saxon The Inner Sanctum | 4.0 |
Motley Crue Too Fast for Love | 4.0 |
Saxon Lionheart | 3.5 |
Good album, but it's definitely a bit overrated; there are better 21st century Saxon records readily available. |
Saxon Killing Ground | 3.5 |
Tankard One Foot In The Grave | 4.0 |
The fact that this record holds the 2nd lowest community ranking for any Tankard album is not only wrong, it's insulting. This album and RIB are among the best records the band has ever released. |
Saxon Metalhead | 4.0 |
Tankard R.I.B. | 4.5 |
This is one hell of a comeback. Not often that a band this old puts out arguably their best album this late in their career. |
Tankard A Girl Called Cerveza | 3.5 |
After the last 3 albums, I was worried these guys were destined to make painfully forgettable yet competent thrash records for the rest of their career. Thankfully, this record seems like they actually started giving a shit again. |
Sodom Genesis XIX | 3.5 |
Saxon Dogs of War | 4.5 |
Nope, I don't get the hate for this one. This is pretty much an all killer, no filler record for me. |
Tankard Vol(l)ume 14 | 2.5 |
Sodom Decision Day | 3.5 |
Definitely lacks the band's usual energy, but I really like it regardless. |
Saxon Forever Free | 3.5 |
Tankard Thirst | 2.5 |
Sodom Epitome of Torture | 3.5 |
Probably Sodom's most melodic offering. I understand why people dislike this one, but I think it's pretty decent. |
Saxon Solid Ball of Rock | 3.5 |
Tankard The Beauty and the Beer | 2.5 |
Sodom In War and Pieces | 4.0 |
Saxon Destiny | 4.0 |
I hate the "softer = shit" mindset most people have in regards to this record. Sure, it's not much of a metal album, but it's one hell of an AOR album. |
Tankard Beast of Bourbon | 4.0 |
Sodom The Final Sign of Evil | 2.5 |
A commendable effort to revisit their sonic roots, but not one I'm ever gonna listen to again. |
Saxon Rock the Nations | 3.5 |
Tankard B-Day | 2.5 |
Sodom Sodom | 4.0 |
Saxon Innocence is No Excuse | 3.0 |
Tankard Kings of Beer | 2.5 |
Sodom M-16 | 4.5 |
Best Sodom album? Probably. |
Cheap Trick We're All Alright! | 3.5 |
Saxon Crusader | 4.0 |
Much better than I remember it being. Production is a bit thin, but the tunes are pretty tight. |
Mega Colossus Riptime | 4.5 |
Tankard Disco Destroyer | 1.5 |
Fuck it, I'll take disco. |
Sodom Code Red | 4.0 |
Sodom decided they were done fuckin' around and finally returned to what they do best; thrashin'. |
Cheap Trick Bang, Zoom, Crazy…Hello | 4.0 |
Unto Others Strength | 3.5 |
Not gonna lie, this was pretty nice. |
Saxon Power and the Glory | 4.5 |
Killer shit right here. The Eagle Has Landed is a fuckin' tour de force. |
Tankard The Tankard | 4.0 |
Sodom 'Til Death Do Us Unite | 2.5 |
Definitely their worst up to this point. The last two records may have been different, but at least those records sounded like they were trying. This just sound like a band that's bored with themselves. |
Saxon Denim and Leather | 4.0 |
Tankard Two Faced | 4.0 |
Sodom Masquerade in Blood | 3.0 |
Nothing special, but it did tear me a new asshole. |
Faith No More Angel Dust | 4.5 |
Weird as fuck, but in the best way. |
Tankard Stone Cold Sober | 2.5 |
Saxon Strong Arm of the Law | 4.0 |
Sodom Get What You Deserve | 3.0 |
Tankard The Meaning of Life | 3.5 |
Sodom Tapping the Vein | 3.5 |
Tankard The Morning After | 4.0 |
Sodom Better Off Dead | 4.0 |
It may be too polished for some, but I really dig the more streamlined and commercial sound the boys went for here. I'm always down for a good sellout record. |
Saxon Wheels of Steel | 3.5 |
Tankard Chemical Invasion | 3.5 |
Tankard Zombie Attack | 4.5 |
Sodom Persecution Mania | 4.0 |
Crystallion Heads or Tails | 2.0 |
One of the most unremarkable albums I've ever heard. |
The Night Flight Orchestra Aeromantic II | 3.5 |
Haven't listened to these guys in a long time, but I'm glad I decided to give this album a shot. 'How Long' is one of the catchiest songs I've heard in months. |
Sodom Obsessed by Cruelty | 3.0 |
Solid, if not a a bit unremarkable. It's decent, but a tad too disjointed and eclectic for my taste. |
Whyzdom Of Wonders and Wars | 1.5 |
Nothing about this album works. |
Paradox Heresy II - End of a Legend | 3.5 |
Good material, but WAYYY too fucking long. |
Crystal Ball Crystallizer | 4.0 |
Crystal Ball Déjà-Voodoo | 4.0 |
Crystal Ball Liferider | 3.5 |
Paladine Entering the Abyss | 3.0 |
Tarantula Thunder Tunes From Lusitania | 1.0 |
Nobody tried. |
Crystal Ball Dawnbreaker | 3.0 |
Primitai Violence of the Skies | 4.0 |
Damn this shit is so cleeeaaaannn. Sleak, stylized and exciting. |
Faith No More The Real Thing | 4.0 |
Crystal Ball Secrets | 3.5 |
SkeleToon 1.21 Gigawatts Club | 3.5 |
Dumb fun, but fun regardless. Way fucking better than The Goonies album they did a few years back. |
Crystal Ball Time Walker | 3.0 |
Volbeat Servant of the Mind | 4.0 |
You keep doin' you, Volbeat. |
Crystal Ball Hellvetia | 3.0 |
Burning Point Arsonist of the Soul | 4.0 |
Really solid, no frills, meat and potatoes power metal. Much better than it has any right to be. |
Crystal Ball Virtual Empire | 3.5 |
Hollow Tower | 3.0 |
Not bad, but it feels a bit incomplete. |
Crystal Ball Hard Impact | 4.0 |
These guys seriously need more attention. Imagine early Stratovarius but it's actually good. |
Warrior Path The Mad King | 4.0 |
Cheap Trick The Latest | 3.5 |
Crystal Ball In the Beginning | 4.5 |
Frozen Crown Winterbane | 3.5 |
Eternity's End Embers of War | 4.5 |
This is fucking amazing. |
NorthTale Eternal Flame | 3.5 |
Silver Talon Decadence and Decay | 3.0 |
I can tell these guys have potential, but I don't think they knocked it out of the park with their debut. My major gripe is that this album doesn't feature a single catchy hook or memorable melody. It's good, but it could have been much better. |
Eclipse (SWE) Monumentum | 4.5 |
Cheap Trick Rockford | 4.0 |
Cheap Trick Special One | 2.5 |
Teramaze And the Beauty They Perceive | 4.0 |
Yet another shining example that Christian metal doesn't have to sound forced or sterile. Might be a little too much fluffy frilly stuff for my liking, but there is a lot of really solid material here. |
Eclipse (SWE) Armageddonize | 4.0 |
The Beatles Let It Be | 3.0 |
Cheap Trick Cheap Trick '97 | 3.5 |
Evergrey Escape of the Phoenix | 4.0 |
Damn, this is really good. I would rarely ever label metal as "lovely", but this shit is fuckin lovely. May be a 4.5 in the future, but we'll see. |
Annihilator Ballistic, Sadistic | 3.0 |
It's comforting to know that I can always look forward to listening to practically the same decent thrash album with dorky vocals every other year. Never stop doing what you do, Jeff. |
Rhapsody of Fire Glory For Salvation | 2.5 |
I thought the last album was boring and lame, but this thing easily tops it. Worst Rhapsody album to date; albeit with a couple enjoyable singles. |
Annihilator For the Demented | 3.5 |
Annihilator Suicide Society | 2.5 |
Labyrinth Welcome to the Absurd Circus | 2.5 |
Not gonna lie, I found this album to be kind of a snoozefest. Just didn't click with me I guess. |
Annihilator Feast | 3.5 |
Agent Steel No Other Godz Before Me | 1.0 |
Some of the worst vocals I have ever heard in my entire life. |
Orden Ogan Final Days | 3.5 |
Annihilator Annihilator | 3.5 |
Cheap Trick Woke Up With A Monster | 3.0 |
Rage Resurrection Day | 3.0 |
Annihilator Metal | 2.5 |
The Humanz of thrash metal. Have a bunch of mediocre tracks laying around? Invite a bunch of your famous friends over, shoehorn them onto every track, and BOOM, you've got yourself an album. |
Annihilator Schizo Deluxe | 4.0 |
Temperance (IT) Diamanti | 3.5 |
Never listened to these guys before; not too shabby. |
Annihilator Waking the Fury | 3.0 |
Annihilator All for You | 2.0 |
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you quite possibly the safest thrash album ever recorded. It's so utterly inoffensive that it becomes annoying. |
Eclipse (SWE) Are You Ready To Rock | 3.0 |
Trick or Treat The Legend of the XII Saints | 3.5 |
Annihilator Carnival Diablos | 4.0 |
Annihilator Criteria for a Black Widow | 3.5 |
Eclipse (SWE) Bleed & Scream | 3.5 |
Annihilator Remains | 1.5 |
Wanna know what kind of albums I like? rGood ones. |
Annihilator Refresh The Demon | 3.5 |
Eclipse (SWE) Wired | 3.5 |
Annihilator King of the Kill | 4.5 |
Annihilator Set the World on Fire | 3.5 |
Annihilator Never, Neverland | 4.0 |
Annihilator Alice in Hell | 4.5 |
Quite possibly the best produced thrash album ever recorded. The songs are fucking amazing too. |
Danzig Black Laden Crown | 2.0 |
Danzig has never sounded less inspired as he does right here. Fucking snoozefest. |
Exciter Kill After Kill | 3.0 |
This album has one of the most botched production jobs I have ever heard. The guitars are thin and weak, and I'm pretty sure the band's bassist never showed up to the studio once during the entire recording process. It's a damn shame because this honestly could have been one of their best albums. |
Danzig Deth Red Sabaoth | 4.0 |
One of the best comeback albums of the 2010's. After over 15 years of mediocrity Danzig finally delivers the goods. Killer album right here. |
Danzig Circle of Snakes | 3.5 |
Danzig 7:77 - I Luciferi | 3.0 |
Exciter Exciter | 4.0 |
Bodom After Midnight Paint the Sky With Blood | 4.0 |
Exciter Unveiling the Wicked | 3.0 |
Exciter Long Live the Loud | 3.5 |
Green Lung Black Harvest | 4.0 |
A marked improvement over the debut. Definitely has some energy that the previous album lacked at points. |
Mastodon Hushed and Grim | 3.0 |
Nowhere near as good as I remember it being. Comparing this to the rest of their discography, this just doesn't stack up for me. Mastodon really lost their bite on this one. |
Running Wild Blood on Blood | 4.5 |
If you would have told me Running Wild would release one of the best albums of their career in 2021, I would have laughed in your face and called you a complete retard. But here we are in 2021, with Running Wild releasing a late-career opus that rivals their strongest material from the 80's and 90's. |
TNT Realized Fantasies | 3.5 |
Exciter Violence and Force | 4.5 |
TNT Intuition | 4.0 |
Limp Bizkit Still Sucks | 5.0 |
This is the first time in Sputnik history where rating an album before it's released is 100% justified. |
Crystal Viper The Cult | 4.0 |
Dang, this is pretty good. That title track is a fuckin scorcher. |
Beast In Black Dark Connection | 3.5 |
The songwriting is a little weaker than the first 2 records, but it still delivers
everything you'd want from a Beast in Black album. There's also a song dedicated to Cyber
City Oedo: 808, which makes me very happy. |
Danzig 6:66 Satan's Child | 2.5 |
TNT Tell No Tales | 4.0 |
Exciter Heavy Metal Maniac | 3.5 |
Breitenhold Secret Worlds | 4.5 |
Europe The Final Countdown | 4.0 |
I simultaneously love and hate every aspect of this album. |
Europe Wings of Tomorrow | 3.5 |
Exodus Shovel Headed Kill Machine | 2.5 |
Great production, great performances, mediocre songwriting. |
Europe Europe | 3.0 |
U.D.O. Game Over | 3.0 |
I love you, Mr. Dirkschnider; but PLEASE never put 16 songs on an album ever again. |
Y&T Facemelter | 4.0 |
Danzig Blackacidevil | 1.0 |
Oh my fucking god this is wretched. What the FUCK Glenn? |
Misfits The Devil's Rain | 2.0 |
Danzig Danzig 4 | 2.5 |
Well that was a disappointment. This shit could substitute for a sleep aid. |
Danzig Danzig III: How The Gods Kill | 4.0 |
Misfits Static Age | 4.5 |
Misfits Earth A.D./Wolf's Blood | 4.0 |
Danzig Danzig II: Lucifuge | 4.5 |
Y&T Endangered Species | 3.0 |
Y&T Musically Incorrect | 2.5 |
Not sure what they were thinking with this one. Sounds like a budget Cinderella. |
Cheap Trick Busted | 2.5 |
Danzig Danzig | 4.0 |
Y&T Ten | 4.0 |
Y&T Contagious | 3.5 |
Exodus Tempo of the Damned | 4.5 |

Fun. Cringe as hell, but fun. |
Riot V Armor of Light | 4.5 |
Y&T Down For the Count | 4.0 |
Wow, this is really underrated! Lots of great tunes on here |
Riot V Unleash The Fire | 4.5 |
Y&T In Rock We Trust | 4.5 |
Riot Immortal Soul | 4.0 |
Faith No More Introduce Yourself | 3.5 |
Faith No More We Care a Lot | 3.0 |

Riot Through the Storm | 4.0 |
Cheap Trick Standing on the Edge | 3.5 |
Y&T Mean Streak | 3.5 |
Riot Sons of Society | 4.0 |
Kryptos Force of Danger | 4.0 |
Force of Danger may be a little more streamlined than it's predecessor, but the overall experience is a tad better in my opinion. The title track sounds like it came straight off an Ambush record, which is never a bad thing. |
Riot Inishmore | 3.0 |
Riot The Brethren of the Long House | 3.0 |
Cheap Trick Next Position Please | 3.0 |
Cheap Trick One on One | 4.0 |
All Shook Up was solid, but it certainly didn't rock as hard as this bad boy. Criminally underrated. |
Rocka Rollas Metal Strikes Back | 3.5 |
Trivium In the Court of the Dragon | 4.5 |
First Trivium album I've enjoyed since Shogun. Matt thankfully keeps his earth-shatteringly rgeneric clean vocals to a minimum, which really helps. I thought I was done with them after rWTDMS, but this pleasantly surprised me. The 2nd half is superb. |
Riot Nightbreaker | 4.0 |
Y&T Black Tiger | 3.5 |
The Beatles Yellow Submarine | 2.5 |
Cheap Trick All Shook Up | 3.5 |
Riot The Privilege of Power | 4.5 |

Meat Loaf Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell | 4.0 |
The Beatles The Beatles | 4.0 |
Cheap Trick Heaven Tonight | 5.0 |
Exodus Pleasures of the Flesh | 4.0 |
I'd say the songs aren't quite as strong as BbB, but the vocals are 100% better. This kinda revens it out, keeping them on par with each other. |
Riot Restless Breed | 3.5 |
Meat Loaf Bad Attitude | 4.5 |
This album slays from front to back. It may not be as ambitious as the "Bat Out Of Hell"
saga, but the songs are direct, infectious and ridiculously fun. Probably my favorite record
from Mr. Loaf. |
Riot Fire Down Under | 4.0 |
Carcass Torn Arteries | 3.5 |
KK's Priest Sermons of the Sinner | 2.5 |
I love KK and Ripper, so I definitely was expecting to like this way more than I did. I
wouldn't say it's a bad record, but it is a pretty generic one. |
Aerosmith Music from Another Dimension | 2.5 |
Cheap Trick In Color | 4.5 |
Meat Loaf Blind Before I Stop | 3.0 |
Uhhh, it's not amazing, but it isn't even close to awful. There are some solid jams on here. |
Exodus Bonded by Blood | 4.0 |
Killer songs, but Christ those vocals are rough. Not to speak ill of the dead, but Paul Baloff seriously couldn't sing. |
HammerFall (r)Evolution | 3.0 |
Aerosmith Honkin' on Bobo | 3.0 |
Riot Narita | 3.5 |
Meat Loaf Midnight at the Lost and Found | 2.5 |

Desert island album right here. Huey was the soundtrack of my youth. |

Symphony X Underworld | 3.0 |
Primus Tales from the Punchbowl | 3.5 |
Symphony X Iconoclast | 3.0 |

Disgustingly low user score for a fantastic album. Not only does Victory have some of the biggest hooks in Running Wild's discog, it is also home to a plethora of catchy riffs and absolutely crushing production job. In need of some serious re-evaluation. |

of the band pretty well. It's no Keeper of the Seven Keys, but it's pretty damn close. |

I don't know, this was the first album since "Powerplant" that I actually enjoyed most of. I guess the material is pretty generic, but it's the good kind of generic. It's a comfy, feel good album for me. |
Gamma Ray Land of the Free II | 2.5 |
Only one memorable track, and it is ruined by Kai's 13 year old reddit athiest lyrics.
It's fine I guess, but definitely their worst album in my opinion |
Gamma Ray Majestic | 3.5 |
Voivod Dimension Hatröss | 4.5 |
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Butterfly 3000 | 3.0 |
Yeah, this isn't doing much for me. I can definitely say I'm not the target demographic the frilly, fluffy material this album contains. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but it pales in comparison to their last 3 records. I'd love it if they'd get heavier again. |

I am not a Pink Floyd fan by any means, but this is easily my favorite Pink Floyd record. Doesn't sound much like traditional PF, which is probably the reason I like it so much. |
Pink Floyd The Final Cut | 3.5 |
Uriah Heep Living the Dream | 4.0 |
Uriah Heep Outsider | 3.5 |

Uriah Heep Sonic Origami | 3.0 |
Gojira Fortitude | 4.0 |
I'll be honest; I think I enjoy Gojira's more streamlined sound in comparison to their early work. |
Uriah Heep Different World | 3.5 |
Huge step in the right direction. The fact this album has the same records as the two
proceeding it is, quite frankly, kind of insulting. |
Uriah Heep Sea of Light | 4.5 |
Uriah Heep Raging Silence | 2.5 |
Uriah Heep Equator | 3.0 |
I always have a soft spot for sellout records. This, Saxon's 'Destiny', and Deep Purple's 'Slaves and Masters' are all cut from the same cheesy cloth; and I love it. |

Dinosaur Jr. Sweep It Into Space | 3.0 |
I only listened to this because Hedorah was on the album cover. The guitarwork on display
here is consistently tasty. It's just a shame they recorded the drums via answering
machine and J Mascis is perpetually on the verge of sleep whilst in the vocal booth. |
Avaland Theater of Sorcery | 4.0 |
So this is basically a budget version of Avantasia. With that being said, this is a really
solid debut that I can give a hearty recommendation. |
Cannibal Corpse Violence Unimagined | 3.0 |
Definitely not my thing, but it didn't piss me off like the vast majority of death metal does. The lack of god-awful clicky drums and a solid production job help quite a bit. |
Pink Floyd The Wall | 4.5 |
They did it. They actually did it. Pink Floyd made an album I actually love. Took a long time to get here, but I finally found a Pink Floyd album I'd personally consider to be exceptional. |
Wizard Metal in My Head | 2.0 |
This is what power metal sounds like to people who don't like power metal. |
Greta Van Fleet The Battle at Garden's Gate | 3.5 |
Definitely a bit too long, but an solid throwback rock album. These guys aren't the musical disease that so many mouth breathers claim they are. |
Michael Schenker Group Immortal | 3.0 |
The Offspring Let the Bad Times Roll | 2.0 |
It's amazing how The Offspring couldn't manage to write a memorable song over the course of 9 years. |
Pink Floyd Animals | 4.0 |
I was really expecting to hate "fUcK cApItAlIsM" the album, but aside from the boring
drudgery of 'Dogs', I actually really enjoyed this one. This is a classic case of
disagreeing with a band's message, but enjoying the record regardless. |
Chevelle NIRATIAS | 3.0 |
Wow, what a letdown. I can't be the only one who finds this album to be really boring,
right? Most of the material on here is plodding, down-paced chug fests. Competent, but
extremely uninteresting. |
Witherfall Curse Of Autumn | 2.5 |
Yeah, this really didn't do anything for me; but that's to be expected from a prog-metal record. |
Nervosa Perpetual Chaos | 3.0 |
Dragony Viribus Unitis | 3.0 |
Generic, but it gets the job done. |
Band-Maid Unseen World | 3.5 |
good album |
Tribulation Where the Gloom Becomes Sound | 4.0 |
The atmosphere of this album is truly exquisite. Tribulation has to be one of the best acts in all of contemporary metal. |
Alcatrazz Born Innocent | 4.0 |
Graham Bonnet is such an underrated songwriter. Some really great stories on this record. |
Sacred Oath Return of the Dragon | 2.0 |
Getting pretty sick of these so-called "power metal" bands releasing albums without any power. |
Bloody Hammers Songs Of Unspeakable Terror | 2.5 |
'Meh' the album |
Rob Zombie The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy | 3.5 |
Rob Zombie makes retarded music. But it's the best kind of retarded. Definitely a fun listen for anyone who wants their daily dose of weirdness. |
Cryptosis Bionic Swarm | 4.5 |
Wow, this is really good. Why can't more modern thrash be like this? |
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here | 4.5 |
Finally, a Pink Floyd album I understand the hype behind. |
Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon | 4.0 |
Greatest rock album of all time? No.
Best progressive rock album of all time? No.
Greatest rock album of the seventies? No.
Greatest progressive rock album of the seventies? No.
A solid progressive rock album from the seventies? Yes. |
Lunar Shadow Wish to Leave | 3.0 |
Pink Floyd Obscured by Clouds | 3.0 |
Not as good as Meddle, but heaps better than the pretentious dogshit of the first 3 records. |
Pink Floyd Meddle | 4.0 |
The opening track is dope and 'Echoes' is amazing, but everything in between shouldn't be there. With that being said, those two songs are enough for me to actually recommend this album to people like myself, who don't enjoy prog. |
Pink Floyd Atom Heart Mother | 3.0 |
The title track is fantastic, everything after it is it's own special brand of forgettable. |
Pink Floyd Ummagumma | 1.5 |
Thanks for wasting my fucking time, Pink Floyd. Hope the next album actually features rmusic. |
Pink Floyd More | 3.0 |
I don't know what's wrong with me, but this is easily my favorite PF album so far. Probably because The Nile Song is the first Floyd tune I'd willingly listen to again. |
Vulture (DE) The Guillotine | 4.0 |
Melvins Working with God | 3.5 |
Did Melvins actually just release another decent album? |
Pink Floyd A Saucerful of Secrets | 3.0 |
Much better than the debut. They managed to cram all the obnoxious ambient fiddle-fucking
to one song this time, and even that song is listenable. Not planning on listening to
this again, but I didn't feel like the band was actively wasting my time like on 'Piper'. |
Strangeways Walk in the Fire | 5.0 |
Some of the best AOR I've ever heard. You gotta check this out. |
Zebra (US) 3.V | 3.5 |
BulletBoys BulletBoys | 4.0 |
Pink Floyd The Piper at the Gates of Dawn | 2.0 |
My Pink Floyd journey is off to a VERY rough start. I have a feeling this isn't the last
time Pink Floyd are going to waste my time with tedious avant-garde bullshit. |
Britny Fox Boys in Heat | 3.0 |
Danger Danger Danger Danger | 4.0 |
Slaughter (USA) Stick It to Ya | 3.5 |
Ratt Infestation | 4.0 |
One hell of a comeback, even if it was a one off. That guitar tone fucking RIPPPPS. |

This album suffers from a chronic case of "just okay". |
Ratt Reach for the Sky | 3.0 |
Kix Midnite Dynamite | 4.0 |
Nitro O.F.R. | 3.0 |
The best kind of retarded. This is grade-A try-hard schlock and I'm totally okay with that. |
DragonForce Ultra Beatdown | 1.5 |
Ultra Beatdown is the ultimate test of human patience. I genuinely like DragonForce, but
fuck me this album is insufferable. |
Kix Hot Wire | 3.5 |
Kix Blow My Fuse | 4.0 |
DragonForce Inhuman Rampage | 3.0 |
This album right here is the reason people won't give DragonForce a fair chance. |
Kow Otani GMK: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack | 5.0 |
Deep Purple Purpendicular | 4.5 |
For the second time Deep Purple show us they don't need Blackmore to make a kickass rrecord. This album has a little bit of everything, but never once feels unfocused of reclectic. Definitely up there with their best material. |
Deep Purple Whoosh! | 4.5 |
Wow, this kinda blew me away. Easily their best since Perpendicular |
Deep Purple inFinite | 3.5 |
Another enjoyable offering in post-Blackmore era. Some interesting ideas and concepts
present, but not too many memorable moments in the first 5 tracks. Thankfully, the second
half really picks up the slack and gives us some good shit. |
Blicky Sosa Blicky Season | 5.0 |
BLICKY DON'T DO DRUGS! BLICKY DON'T DO FUCKING DRUGS! I ONLY SMOKE WEED. I ONLY DRINK ALCOHOL. |
DragonForce Sonic Firestorm | 3.5 |
Deep Purple Now What?! | 4.0 |
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY fucking better than Rapture of the Deep. |
DragonForce Valley of the Damned | 3.0 |
Deep Purple Rapture of the Deep | 2.5 |
Slightly better than the MKI albums, but not by much. This record sounds stale as fuck. |
Deep Purple Bananas | 3.0 |
Who the fuck thought naming the album Bananas was a good idea? Music is decent, but God that artwork and title are retarded. |
Deep Purple Abandon | 3.0 |
This doesn't hold a candle to Purpendicular. Big lack of memorable melodies, riffs or hooks. With that being said, it's still more than serviceable and has some great hidden gems. |
Demolition Hammer Epidemic of Violence | 5.0 |
"SHACKLESANDCHAINANDBLOODYMEAT" |
Deep Purple The Battle Rages On... | 2.5 |
It's pretty evident nobody in Deep Purple had any ideas for this album. |
Deep Purple Slaves and Masters | 4.0 |
I love this album. I understand why people don't like it, but it hits all the notes I
wanted from a Joe Lynn Turner fronted Deep Purple album. It may not sound like the band's
classic output, but it showed Deep Purple could make a damn good AOR record. |
Deep Purple The House of Blue Light | 3.0 |
Weak follow up, but a decent album. |
Deep Purple Perfect Strangers | 4.5 |
Seriously can't believe I used to dislike this album in middle school. Such a foolish 12 year old I was. |
Deep Purple Come Taste the Band | 4.0 |
This album fucking rocks dude. Replacing Blackmore was a Herculean task, but Bolin fucking SLAYS on here. It's no 'In Rock' or 'Machine Head', but it isn't too far behind. This record is some serious need of reassessment. |
Stryper In God We Trust | 3.5 |
Deep Purple Stormbringer | 4.0 |
The Coverdale era of Deep Purple is sickeningly underrated. Stormbringer funks AND fucks. |
Stryper The Yellow and Black Attack | 3.5 |
Stryper To Hell With the Devil | 4.5 |
Queen A Kind of Magic | 3.5 |
Queen The Works | 3.5 |
Deep Purple Burn | 4.5 |
I will forever stand by my opinion that Burn is on par with In Rock and Machine Head. he title track is also my all-time favorite DP track. So fuckin good. |
Deep Purple Who Do We Think We Are | 3.5 |
The weakest Gillian record of the 70's but still lightyears ahead of the first 3 albums. This really isn't half bad. |
Queen Hot Space | 3.0 |
I was expecting MUCH worse. |
Queen The Game | 3.5 |
Deep Purple Machine Head | 4.5 |
While I don't think it's QUITE as good as it's reputation lead me to believe, I can't deny just how consistent and satisfying Machine Head is. |
Deep Purple Fireball | 4.0 |
The bastard middle child sandwiched between the two big guns is still a total beast in its own right. |
Deep Purple Deep Purple In Rock | 5.0 |
These guys went from a mediocre prog-rock outfit to one of the all-time greats in under a year. This is the true debut as far as I'm concerned. |
Deep Purple Deep Purple | 2.5 |
Not sure why people hate the first 2 but magically enjoy this one. Sounds the exact same as their first 2 records to me. Thank God this is the last MKI album, and thank God MKII is superior in every single way. |
Rainbow Rising | 5.0 |
Best metal album ever recorded? Possibly. I don't have any rebuttals to that claim, so I guess it can wear that title comfortably. |
Deep Purple The Book of Taliesyn | 2.5 |
Slightly better than the debut, but not by a noticeable amount. Passable, but not worth your time. |
Deep Purple Shades of Deep Purple | 2.5 |
Generic, bland, flavorless psychedelic rock with one really good song. This really does nothing for me. |

Uriah Heep Look at Yourself | 4.0 |

Everything after the first 2 tracks is great, but I definitely wouldn't consider this a
masterpiece by any stretch of the word.

life. |

Not as strong as Speed Between the Lines, but still tons of fun. Modern Gama Bomb is definitely a step above the majority of their uber-serious contemporaries. I'm glad these guys exist. |

Outside of Automation, I seriously didn't enjoy any of the singles for this album.
Thankfully, the rest of the stuff on here is pretty solid, if not a tad predictable.
Intrapsort was probably the biggest surprise on here, definitely the album's biggest
highlight. |
KISS Love Gun | 4.0 |

Beyonce Lemonade | 2.5 |
Wouldn't have listened to this on my own volition, but I had to for film class. It's not bad, but there are some seriously cringeworthy lyrics on here that really conflict with the serious tone it's going for. I knew this wasn't gonna be up my alley, but I'm surprised by just how much I didn't like it. |
AC/DC Power Up | 4.0 |
We all know AC/DC have never, and will never change. But with that being said, this album
is a notable jump in quality, and easily the best thing they've released in nearly 40
years. Dumb fun, but fun regardless. Submit to your inner middle-aged dad and have a good
time. |
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Sketches of Brunswick East (w/ Mild High Club) | 2.0 |
"Yo, this sounds boring as fuck. Drop it."
- Everyone involved with this project, 2017 |
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Murder Of The Universe | 4.0 |
Ninja Sex Party The Prophecy | 3.5 |
I'm not a big fan of the newer overproduced sound they've acquired over the past few years; or those fucking covers albums they wont stop releasing. With that being said, I'm pleasantly surprised with this one. If there's one thing these guys haven't made me do in a while, it's laugh, but The Prophecy did make me chuckle a few times. I even enjoyed the normally unfunny skits they stick in between tracks on this one. |

These new tracks are some of Poppy's strongest material. I'd say keeping them off the initial release hurt it quite a bit. If you're gonna listen to any version this record, make it this one. |

Their weakest release since Murder by Pride, but still another solid holy offering. Great album title too |
Meat Loaf Bat Out of Hell III | 4.0 |
Bathory Octagon | 2.5 |
The fuck is wrong with me? |
Bathory Requiem | 2.0 |
Sure, the production is SLIGHTLY better than Octagon, but the overall songs are worse. At least the dumpster-fire production on Octagon made it memorable. |
Bathory Twilight of the Gods | 3.5 |
Bathory Hammerheart | 3.0 |
Yeah, this really didn't do anything for me. The followup is far superior in my eyes. |
Bathory Blood Fire Death | 5.0 |
Bathory Under the Sign of the Black Mark | 5.0 |
Dude, I think I like black metal now... |
Bathory The Return of the Darkness and Evil | 4.0 |
Andrew Lloyd Webber Cats: Original Broadway Cast | 1.5 |
Terrible concept, terrible stage show, terrible story line, and terrible lyrics. If it wasn't for the competent execution and performances this would be completely nonredeemable. With that being said, it still manages to be somewhat listenable in comparison to the film adaptation's soundtrack. |
Avatar Avatar Country | 3.0 |
Avatar Hunter Gatherer | 4.0 |
What the fuck were they thinking? None of the songs have "king" in the title. |
Mr. Bungle Disco Volante | 2.5 |
A record that's eclectic for eclectic's sake. Sure, the debut was all over the place stylistically, but not once did it sound forced or pretentious. Sadly, I can't say the same about this record. |
Mr. Bungle Mr. Bungle | 4.5 |
"My Ass Is on Fire" sent me into a deep fit of psychosis. I'm still not sure if that is a positive or not. |

Thin Lizzy Johnny the Fox | 3.5 |
Thin Lizzy Jailbreak | 4.5 |
Thin Lizzy Fighting | 4.0 |
Five Finger Death Punch F8 | 2.0 |
Demons and Wizards III | 3.5 |
Trivium Shogun | 4.5 |
Shogun |
Queen A Night at the Opera | 3.5 |
Dude, I get Bohemian Rhapsody is a classic, but most of this album is passable pussy rock fluff. That hardened edge of the first 3 records is gone, and it is sorely lacking. I mean, this is still a solid album, but it is FAR from their best. |
Warbringer Weapons of Tomorrow | 4.5 |
I'm not a huge fan of most modern thrash bands, but Warbringer is certainly an exception. Think we're looking at a modern classic right here. |
Trivium What the Dead Men Say | 2.5 |
I can't be the only one who hates their new sound right? |
Queen Sheer Heart Attack | 4.5 |
Queen Queen II | 4.0 |
Queen Queen | 4.0 |
Testament Titans of Creation | 4.0 |
Really dig the harder edge on this one, pretty fucking heavy. My only issue with with TOC is that it has no hooks whatsoever. |
Savatage The Dungeons are Calling | 4.0 |
Savatage Poets and Madmen | 4.5 |
Wolf Black Wings | 4.5 |
Polaris The Death of Me | 3.0 |
I have a strong distaste for metalcore and it's "woe is me" attitude, but this was alright. I didn't cringe once while listening to it, so I'd say that's an accomplishment. |
Wolf Wolf | 4.5 |
The Dickies Dawn of the Dickies | 5.0 |
Revisited this for the first time since junior year, I love it even more now. |
Body Count Carnivore | 3.5 |
Love these guys, and I really dig this new record. The boys in BC sound tight as fuck on here, leaving nothing to be desired in the performance department. I'd say may biggest critique would be the talking points and social criticisms aren't quite as sharp as they were on Bloodlust, and they seem to be treading over too much familiar water. |
The Weeknd After Hours | 4.0 |
Nice. |
Tokyo Blade Burning Down Paradise | 4.0 |
Wolf Feeding the Machine | 3.5 |
It's pretty damn good, but by Wolf standards some of this is pretty forgettable. That being
said, the title track is a fucking titan of a song. |
Great White Once Bitten.... | 3.5 |
Manowar The Lord of Steel | 2.0 |
Ambush (SWE) Infidel | 4.5 |
These Swedes know exactly what they are doing. On Infidel, Ambush turns up the aggression
and takes no prisoners. Let's hope we don't have to wait another 5 years for the next
record. |
Anvil Legal at Last | 2.0 |
The one time I smoked weed nobody told me it was laced with some sort of hallucinogen, and
I had a hellish nightmare trip. Now every time I smell it I get PTSD. |
Stone Temple Pilots Perdida | 1.5 |
What a boring piece of shit this is. Counting Crows sound butch compared to these guys. |
Leatherwolf Street Ready | 4.5 |
Biff Byford School Of Hard Knocks | 4.0 |
Now this was a surprise. I didn't know how to feel about Biff going solo, or what direction he would go musically. But I am glad to say this thing is a top to bottom monster. Keep it up, Biff. |
Lordi Killection | 3.0 |
Fun concept and decent variation from track to track. Nothing super memorable, but there's
fun to be had. |
Stallion Slaves of Time | 4.0 |
Much better than their last record. This thing slaps hard |
Psychotic Waltz The God-Shaped Void | 3.5 |
Pretty solid from start to finish. However, it really isn't all too memorable, and I doubt I'll ever get the urge to listen to it again. |
Hollywood Undead New Empire Vol. 1 | 2.5 |
My roommate worships this band. I'm sure if I was still 11 I would have dug the fuck out of this. |
Green Day Father of All Motherfuckers | 2.0 |
I mean it's bad don't get me wrong, but I still enjoyed it more than the steaming pile of shit Blink-182 released last year. This is a masterpiece in comparison. |
Kvelertak Splid | 4.0 |
Bratebrann has been kicking my ass for 3 months now. Good to know the album surrounding the song is great too. |
Thin Lizzy Nightlife | 3.0 |
Sepultura Quadra | 4.0 |
I knew after Machine Messiah the band had reached a turning point. If Quadra is any indicator of what's to come, then we're all in for one hell of a ride. |
Thin Lizzy Vagabonds of the Western World | 3.5 |
Thin Lizzy Shades of a Blue Orphanage | 2.5 |
Thin Lizzy Thin Lizzy | 3.0 |

Blind Guardian Follow the Blind | 3.5 |
Blind Guardian Tales from the Twilight World | 4.0 |
Sodom Agent Orange | 5.0 |
British Lion The Burning | 2.0 |
Wow, this was letdown. Production is thin, Steve's bass is pretty much inaudible throughout, and
every song is mindbogglingly generic. I seriously can't recommend this one. |
Blind Guardian Battalions of Fear | 3.5 |
Brothers Of Metal Emblas Saga | 4.0 |
Solid chunk of goofy, lighthearted power metal. Lot's of fun, but prepare for some serious cheese. |
Megadeth Th1rt3en | 3.5 |
Megadeth Super Collider | 2.0 |
Megadeth Endgame | 4.0 |
Megadeth United Abominations | 3.0 |
Megadeth The System Has Failed | 4.0 |
Twilight Force Heroes of Mighty Magic | 4.0 |
Twilight Force Tales of Ancient Prophecies | 4.5 |
Rage Wings of Rage | 3.0 |
If you're in the mood for some metal, this will do. Variety isn't the album's strong suit however. You could turn it off after the song Wings of Rage and not miss a single thing. |
Mystic Prophecy Metal Division | 3.0 |
It's good for sure, but there is a strong lack of memorable songs. |
Poppy I Disagree | 3.5 |
I guess this is the next logical step for her to go. Concrete is easily the best song on here, kinda dips after that. Still thoroughly enjoyable though. |

Black Sabbath Headless Cross | 4.5 |
A highlight in Black Sabbath's already impressive discography. If Dio was on vocals this would have a 4+ average on this site and you know it. Purists seriously need to stop riding Ozzy and Dio's dicks so hard and actually give this a listen. One of the best albums Sabbath have ever released. |

Not too shabby. Nothing on here is very memorable, but it's consistently decent throughout. |
Stormwarrior Norsemen | 3.5 |
The boys from Stormwarrior pull through just before the end of the year with a real doozy. The botched production job holds it back a little, but it has so much cheesy goodness I can't help but love it. |
Waterparks FANDOM | 1.5 |
I somehow still enjoyed this more than Blink-182's album this year. |
Grim Reaper Rock You To Hell | 4.5 |
Blood Incantation Hidden History of the Human Race | 4.0 |
It's good, but it's sure as hell not album of the year. |
Tygers Of Pan Tang Ritual | 4.0 |
Really good. None of the tracks really stand out that much, but never once does it feel like
they're throwing filler at you. |
Ghost (SWE) Seven Inches Of Satanic Panic | 3.5 |
B.B. King Lucille | 5.0 |
Blind Guardian Legacy of the Dark Lands | 2.5 |
I kept waiting for something to blow me away, but it never happened. There isn't anything bad on here, but there isn't anything noteworthy either. It really does feel like a collection of tracks meant to be squeezed in between normal Blind Guardian songs. |
Lin-Manuel Miranda Hamilton - Original Broadway Cast | 1.0 |
Pure, finely cut, unadulterated, grade-A, FUCKING CRINGE. |
Quiet Riot Hollywood Cowboys | 2.0 |
A couple decent tunes, but there is a lot of cringe worthy bullshit that needs to be sifted through. |

listen. Skip Zipper though, that album fucking sucks. |

Lugnet Nightwalker | 3.5 |
Airbourne Boneshaker | 3.5 |
Zac Brown Band The Owl | 1.0 |
They gave genre jumping a shot back in 2015, and it produced middling effects at best. Jekyll
+Hyde wasn't great, but it at least had a couple alright tracks on it, and 2017's 'Welcome Home'
was a welcomed return to form for me. However, 'The Owl' is might be the biggest dip in quality
I've ever heard from any band ever. After hearing this, it's pretty obvious they don't give a
quarter of a shit anymore. The song 'God Given' has given me confidence in saying I'm probably not
gonna give any subsequent albums of theirs a spin. |
Mayhem Daemon | 4.5 |
Hold up, this thing slaps way harder than I was expecting. I might have to start getting into
black metal now. |
Lacuna Coil Black Anima | 2.5 |
It's a no from me. The heavily distorted alt metal guitars layered on top of clean angelic vocals,
paired with some totally EPIC and BRUTAL screams are just silly. I know it's their sound, but
their sound just doesn't work for me. |
Primus Pork Soda | 4.5 |
Tank Sturmpanzer (Algy Ward's Tank) | 1.0 |
Holy shit. What? This was released? This isn't even demo quality. How could this happen? Who let this happen? |
Demon The Unexpected Guest | 4.5 |
Stellar follow-up to their already fantastic debut. Quintessential NWOBHM |
The Darkness Easter Is Cancelled | 3.0 |
Woof, I don't think it's nearly as bad as people are saying. It's not great, but it has it's charm. |
Demon Night of the Demon | 4.5 |
This is the album I never knew I needed. I'm gonna be jamming this all October. |
Grim Reaper At The Gates | 3.5 |
Was not expecting this to be so good. Steve's voice is for the most part intact, and 'The Hand
That Rocks the Cradle' is among one of the band's best songs. Kinda suffers from a top heavy track
list though. |
BABYMETAL Metal Galaxy | 3.5 |
I don't like it as much as Metal Resistance, but they manage to pack so much weird shit in here that I can forgive it. |
Toxic Holocaust Primal Future: 2019 | 3.0 |
Helloween 7 Sinners | 3.0 |
Helloween Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy | 4.0 |
Helloween Walls of Jericho | 4.5 |
Helloween The Dark Ride | 4.0 |
Steel Panther Heavy Metal Rules | 1.5 |
I actually really like Steel Panther, but there is no way they put ANY effort into this one. Gods
of Pussy did give me a pretty solid laugh, though. |
Sturgill Simpson Sound and Fury | 4.0 |
ZZ Top-core |
Opeth In Cauda Venenum | 3.5 |
Wow, a prog album in 2019 that didn't bore the piss out of me. Good job, Opeth. |
blink-182 Nine | 1.0 |
I have no idea why this is album is getting any praise at all. This album was absolute trash. Top
to bottom garbage. |
DragonForce Extreme Power Metal | 3.5 |
Fuck it, I had a lot of fun with this album. I don't think it's as good as their past 3 albums, but I certainly enjoyed my time with this one. |
Puddle of Mudd Welcome to Galvania | 2.0 |
Green Lung Woodland Rites | 3.5 |
I enjoyed it, but there was one glaring issue I had with it. I couldn't shake the feeling that these guys sounded like a satanic Greta Van Fleet. |
Nostalgia Critic The Wall | 1.0 |
Somebody listened to this and told him, "Yeah, that sounds good. Release it". |
Exhorder Mourn the Southern Skies | 4.0 |
Never really liked Exhorder's first two albums, but this one is solid from top to bottom. Contender for thrash album of the year. |
TerribleTim TerribleTim Spreads Love | 5.0 |
Korn The Nothing | 3.5 |
This thing kinda slaps, and I don't even like Korn |
Crashdiet Rust | 3.0 |
The furry artwork is pretty fucking awful, but the music is alright for what it's worth. Some okay stuff on here. |

Samhain November-Coming-Fire | 5.0 |

The energy, power, and cohesion brought forth on this album is something 2019 has been sorely
lacking. Everyone on the record is putting in 110%, and the orchestral arrangements flow perfectly
on every track. Every song is delightfully catchy and cheesy, and the title track may be my song
of the year. |
HammerFall Dominion | 3.0 |
I should probably give 'Dominion' a lower rating, but I had a fun time listening to it. |
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Infest the Rats' Nest | 4.5 |
Devil Master Satan Spits On Children Of Light | 4.0 |
Glad I revisited this one; it's way better then I remembered. A successful swift kick to the nuts that permeates with an unapologetically wicked attitude. |
Suicidal Angels Years of Aggression | 2.0 |
Pretty fuckin' boring. Never caught my interest once through its 40 minute run time. |
Seax Fallout Rituals | 3.0 |

Destruction Born to Perish | 2.5 |
Slipknot We Are Not Your Kind | 4.5 |
After 25 years, Slipknot finally gets it. By far the best thing they've ever released. |
Fuming Mouth The Grand Descent | 3.5 |
Solid from start to finish, but loses a little bit of steam at the halfway point. |
Volbeat Rewind, Replay, Rebound | 3.5 |
While I do wish they would go back to some heavier material, this album is nothing to scoff at. I can safely say I thoroughly enjoyed every song on this record. A pleasant surprise to say the least. |
Skillet Victorious | 2.0 |
This is pretty much just heavy metal Imagine Dragons, albeit with a couple decent songs. Think I'll just stick to Stryper. |
The Pharcyde Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde | 5.0 |
Q5 When the Mirror Cracks | 2.5 |
What the hell happened to these guys from 1984 to 1986? The literally went from Accept to Survivor between albums |
Q5 Steel the Light | 4.5 |
Mike Love 12 Sides of Summer | 1.0 |

This is good, damn good. I'll have to check out their debut now. |

Darkthrone Old Star | 3.5 |
Not as good as their previous album, but 1000 times better than anything off of FOAD and Circle the Wagons. |
Riot City Burn the Night | 4.0 |
Death Angel Humanicide | 4.0 |
Farrah Abraham My Teenage Dream Ended | 5.0 |
Anthem Absolute World | 5.0 |
Quite possibly the best Japanese metal record I've heard in my life. The energy here is like nothing I've ever experienced before. |
Anthem Black Empire | 4.5 |
Gloryhammer Legends From Beyond the Galactic Terror. | 4.0 |
The lore is so rich with this band. Still don't know what the fuck a "hoot" is though. |
Saint Vitus Saint Vitus (2019) | 2.5 |
Diamond Head The Coffin Train | 4.5 |
What I ended up listening to was not I expected from this album at all. The short headbangers are
great, but where this album really hits it's stride is in the thick atmospherics of the deeper
cuts like "The Sleeper" and "When We Burn". |
Savage Messiah Demons | 3.5 |
Devin Townsend Empath | 2.0 |
There are so many sub-par aspects of this record. There is consistently too much shit going on all
at once, and nothing ever comes together as a cohesive whole. Clocking in at a meaty 75 minutes, I
could not wait for this thing to end. |
Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill | 5.0 |
Whitesnake Flesh and Blood | 3.5 |
Whitesnake has never been one of my favorite groups, but they have always put out really solid music, and this is no exception. Surprisingly good hard rock/ heavy metal record. |
Possessed Revelations of Oblivion | 4.0 |
Wow, I didn't expect much going in, but I was blown away by how old-school and intense this sounded. |
The Murlocs Manic Candid Episode | 3.5 |
Amon Amarth Berserker | 2.0 |
Amon Amarth have never sounded so tedious. This album was a really boring listen from beginning to
end. |
Pantera Far Beyond Driven | 2.0 |
The musical embodiment of an alcoholic skinhead beating his wife in their doublewide. |
Cardi B Invasion of Privacy | 1.0 |
Cardi B is insufferable to listen to for 2 minutes; how the fuck can people take an entire album of this obnoxious squawking retard? |
Bad Religion Age of Unreason | 2.0 |
WARNING: The contents of this album contain epic Trump burns and mediocre punk songs. |

Pretty generic thrash, with a decent vocalist. Skip it. |
Anthem Nucleus | 4.5 |
Just as fantastic as I expected. Anthem keeps this collection of re-recordings
familiar, yet still manages to make it fresh and exciting. I'm glad they didn't rely on
their biggest hits, and decided to focus on the underrated gems of their latter day
catalog. |
Anthem The Very Best of Anthem | 3.5 |
SkeleToon They Never Say Die | 2.5 |
"Alright, let's make a Goonies album." - Some guy from SkeleToon. |
Rush Clockwork Angels | 4.5 |
Battle Beast No More Hollywood Endings | 2.5 |
Kinda blows it's load in the first 3 songs, and doesn't pick back up until The Golden Horde. The highlights are great, but the lows are deeper than the Mariana Trench. |
Bloodbound Rise of the Dragon Empire | 4.5 |
Surprisingly good, not a dud on the record. Throw this on while playing Dark Souls and you're set. |
Tyr Hel | 4.0 |
A tad bit too long, but overall, a damn satisfying release from Tyr. |
Insane Clown Posse Fearless Fred Fury | 3.5 |
These guys will always be a guilty pleasure of mine. Love their cheesy horror-themed lyrics, and their bombastic 90's style production. Probably their best since Jeckel Brothers. |
Iron Savior Kill or Get Killed | 2.5 |
Serviceable, but it's really nothing more than by the books power metal. Sick artwork though. |
Buckcherry Warpaint | 1.0 |
This album actually hurts to listen to. Todd's voice on this record gave me a fucking headache. No joke |

Overkill The Electric Age | 4.5 |
Metal Inquisitor Panopticon | 3.0 |
Pretty fun retro metal throwback record, nothing special, but it didn't need to be. |
Children of Bodom Hexed | 4.5 |
I had never given this band a listen, but Nuclear Blast was really pushing them, so I gave them a shot. I can now safely say I'm a fan. |
Iron Fire Beyond the Void | 3.5 |
Straightforward well performed Power Metal. That's all I wanted from this record, and it's exactly
what I got. |
Tesla Shock | 2.5 |
Rhapsody of Fire The Eighth Mountain | 3.0 |
An overproduced, over-polished power metal album severely lacking in the power department. One of my biggest gripes in how new vocalist Giacomo Voli sounds like he's going to break down and cry for the entire record. It has one hell of a closing track though.r*update*rMuch better than I remember it being, but it still isn't anything spectacular. |
Queensryche The Verdict | 3.5 |
Strong release from the group, especially after a two decade long drought of good music from them.
Getting rid of Tate was the best decision they ever made. |
Misfits Walk Among Us | 4.5 |
Misfits Famous Monsters | 5.0 |
Yeah, this is my favorite Misfit record. You gonna fuckin' do something about it? |
Overkill I Hear Black | 3.0 |
Dream Theater Distance Over Time | 2.5 |
While this is a technically impressive record, it's a real slog to get through. It almost gets a 3 for being musically impressive, but it simply never kept my interest. |
Candlemass The Door To Doom | 3.0 |
By the books doom metal, lacking variation and flavor. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. |
Overkill The Wings Of War | 4.0 |
Yet again, my opinion on this album was grown quite a bit since the last time I listened to
it. It's undeniably their weakest record from the 2010's, but it's still leaps and bounds
above what most other thrash acts are releasing nowadays. Good luck finding a band this old
releasing music with this much intensity.

A much more cohesive and finished product than their previous release only a year prior. A small
gripe I have with the record lies in it's lyrics and how many times the phrases "Into the night"
or "Through the night" are used. The album has a bit of a pacing issue, with the tempo's lacking
variation, and the drum work, while impressive on a technical level, is a little too similar from
track to track. However, Striker manages to deliver the goods when it comes to killer production,
sheer intensity, technical ability, and raw power.

Skull Fist Way of the Road | 3.5 |
Much better after I revisited it. It still doesn't stack up to the first two records, and I miss the reverb, but the guitar work is killer and it is the perfect length. Give it another shot if the first listen didn't do it for you. |
Gama Bomb Speed Between The Lines | 4.5 |
Greta Van Fleet Anthem of the Peaceful Army | 3.5 |
A consistent and catchy listen, albeit a tad uninspired and unoriginal. Lyrically the album touches upon all the lyrical tropes you would expect from an album of this nature. Despite the album's creative faults, it still remains a highly enjoyable listen with a very talented band to back it up. Hopefully they stray from the cut and paste Led Zeppelin format in the future. |

The last two albums were weak as hell. Let's hope they found out how to pace songs or else we'll
be subjected to an 18 minute song with two riffs.
Update: This album really exceeded my expectations. Maiden has finally figured out how to pad out
songs running times, making every second of each song feel necessary. Every song fits together
like a puzzle. I think a large fact of the albums greatness is the fact that Harris was absent
through most of the songwriting process, allowing the rest of the bands writing abilities to
really shine. While not perfect, it's immensely satisfying to hear Maiden with this much energy
again. Overall a damn good album, and their best since 'The X Factor'. |

The worst Megadeth album. At least Super Collider has Kingmaker and some tracks that are
fun to laugh at; this thing feels like one long dogshit filler track. |
Megadeth Cryptic Writings | 3.5 |
A pretty good rock album from thrash legends. Not as good as Load, but still thoroughly enjoyable. |

The last time Maiden sounded like they were actually having fun. Take off the last 3 tracks, and you've got one hell of a Maiden album. Doesn't top Brave New World, but it does stand as one of their best post-Blaze era releases. |

Underrated gem in Maiden's discography. Aside from the 10 minute abomination Angel and the Gambler, the rest of the material on here is really solid. |

Great return of Bruce and one of the best post Blaze albums Maiden has released. Only issue is that the running times of the songs started to linger too long. This would be an issue that would plague future Maiden releases. |
Iron Maiden The X Factor | 4.0 |
Fiercely underrated album. Only hated because it's not Bruce, but that's why the album succeeds in being such a great listen. "Sign of the Cross" is the best Iron Maiden song ever. |
Iron Maiden Fear of the Dark | 4.0 |
Easily Maiden's most varied and interesting record to date. Not everything on here lands, but when it does, it's fantastic. Had the band cut a couple filler tracks, this may have landed a spot in my top 5 Maiden albums. |
Iron Maiden No Prayer for the Dying | 2.5 |
I hate giving anything by Maiden such a low score, but this album really bombs. Tailgunner is really the only decent track on this album. But thats about it. The rest of the album is complete filler to the worst extent. |
Iron Maiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son | 4.0 |
Man I used to think this album was the shit back in the day. I still think it's a solid Maiden release, but any time those self indulgent prog ballads kick in I kinda wanna ralph. The more times I revisit it, the less I like it. |
Iron Maiden Somewhere in Time | 5.0 |
Maiden comes back stronger than ever with this album. Guitar synths are used to great effect, and the solos are beyond fantastic on this album. Grand choruses and epic production make this a true experience. My absolute favorite. |
Iron Maiden Powerslave | 4.5 |
Working their way up, Maiden finally releases a worthwhile album with Bruce. One of Maiden's strongest efforts of the 80's. |
Iron Maiden Piece of Mind | 3.5 |
"Where Eagles Dare" may be one of my favorite Maiden songs, but this album also contains two of Maiden's weakest songs. "Die With Your Boots On" and "Quest For Fire" are completely abysmal efforts. |
Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast | 3.0 |
Not anywhere near Maiden's best work. Filler absorbs most of the albums running time, but the 3 big tracks keep it from being a bad album. |
Iron Maiden Killers | 3.5 |
Wrathchild and Killers are some of the best songs Maiden has to offer. |
Iron Maiden Iron Maiden | 4.0 |
Great debut from metal legends. Only fault is the two slower songs that detract from the album's feel. |
Judas Priest Angel of Retribution | 3.5 |
Solid return of metal god Rob Halford, in what was supposed to be "Sad Wings 2" but ended up being "Painkiller 2" |
