Alice Cooper Hey Stoopid
Alice Cooper DaDa
Alice in Chains Jar Of Flies
Alice in Chains Dirt
Alice in Chains The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
This record doesn't get the recognition it deserves. This is neck and neck with Dirt for me.
Ambush (SWE) Infidel
These Swedes know exactly what they are doing. On Infidel, Ambush turns up the aggression
and takes no prisoners. Let's hope we don't have to wait another 5 years for the next
record. |
Amon Amarth With Oden on Our Side
now this is what I'm fuckin talkin about
Amon Amarth Twilight of the Thunder God
Angel Witch Angel Witch

Anthem Gypsy Ways
Anthem Bound to Break
Anthem Black Empire
Anthem Burning Oath
This album fucked my mom, and I'm not even made about it. Struggle Action fucking DECIMATES.
Anthem Nucleus
Just as fantastic as I expected. Anthem keeps this collection of re-recordings
familiar, yet still manages to make it fresh and exciting. I'm glad they didn't rely on
their biggest hits, and decided to focus on the underrated gems of their latter day
catalog. |

Black Death Black Death
Black Sabbath Paranoid
Black Sabbath Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath Heaven And Hell
Black Sabbath Headless Cross
A highlight in Black Sabbath's already impressive discography. If Dio was on vocals this would have a 4+ average on this site and you know it. Purists seriously need to stop riding Ozzy and Dio's dicks so hard and actually give this a listen. One of the best albums Sabbath have ever released.

Hot damn, this is some good shit! Dragons are cool.
Blue Oyster Cult Fire of Unknown Origin
Blue Oyster Cult Cultösaurus Erectus
Bow Wow (JPN) Warning from Stardust
Among the best Japanese metal albums of the 80s. It just hits different.
Bow Wow (JPN) Ancient Dreams
An excellent collection rerecorded tracks from their early career. The newer, heavier production on this album really does breath new life into these tracks, with every single song being noticeably improved upon.
Brainfever You
You
Brainstorm Downburst
Brazen Abbot Live And Learn
Glenn Hughs and Goran Edman were in an heavy AOR band together? This is awesome! How have I never heard of this?!

Chris Stapleton Traveller
Cinderella Night Songs
Conception Parallel Minds
Coroner Mental Vortex
Coventhrall Legacy of Morfuidra
Its shit like this that makes listening to every power metal album each year worth it. This totally knocked my socks off.
Coverdale and Page Coverdale / Page
Crimson Glory Crimson Glory
Cryptosis Bionic Swarm
Wow, this is really good. Why can't more modern thrash be like this?
Crystal Ball In the Beginning
Crystal Eyes Starbourne Traveler
One hell of a comeback record. All killer, no filler. A 3.3 for this album is absolutely ludicrous
Danzig Danzig II: Lucifuge
Dark Moor The Gates of Oblivion
Death Individual Thought Patterns
Death Human
Death Angel The Evil Divide
Deep Purple Machine Head
While I don't think it's QUITE as good as it's reputation lead me to believe, I can't deny just how consistent and satisfying Machine Head is.
Deep Purple Perfect Strangers
Seriously can't believe I used to dislike this album in middle school. Such a foolish 12 year old I was.
Deep Purple Burn
I will forever stand by my opinion that Burn is on par with In Rock and Machine Head. he title track is also my all-time favorite DP track. So fuckin good.
Deep Purple Purpendicular
For the second time Deep Purple show us they don't need Blackmore to make a kickass rrecord. This album has a little bit of everything, but never once feels unfocused of reclectic. Definitely up there with their best material.
Deep Purple Whoosh!
Wow, this kinda blew me away. Easily their best since Perpendicular
Def Leppard High 'N' Dry
Demon The Unexpected Guest
Stellar follow-up to their already fantastic debut. Quintessential NWOBHM
Demon Night of the Demon
This is the album I never knew I needed. I'm gonna be jamming this all October.
Destruction Mad Butcher
I absolutely dumbfounded how 4 of the best tracks this band ever recorded were never included on an actual full length release.
Destruction Cracked Brain
Fuck you, this is my favorite Destruction album.
Dethklok Dethalbum II
I'm so glad I started watching Metalocalypse. This shit is absolutely fantastic.
Diamond Head The Coffin Train
What I ended up listening to was not I expected from this album at all. The short headbangers are
great, but where this album really hits it's stride is in the thick atmospherics of the deeper
cuts like "The Sleeper" and "When We Burn". |
Dio Holy Diver
Dio Magica
Dire Straits Brothers In Arms
DMX It's Dark and Hell Is Hot
Dokken Tooth And Nail
Dokken The Lost Songs: 1978-1981
Why the fuck were these songs never released? This is easily some of Don's best work. No shit, this is legitimately superb.
Don Dokken Up From The Ashes
5th Dokken album. On par with their first 4 albums, and almost surpasses them on a couple occasions. I Crash and Burn all day, baby.
DragonForce Reaching into Infinity
Dream Evil Dragon Slayer
As far as power metal goes, this may just have the best production the genre has to offer. Grandiose, epic, cheesy, uplifting, and a shit ton of fun. Love it to death.
Dream Theater Awake
Dynazty The Dark Delight
Eclipse (SWE) Monumentum
Eclipse (SWE) Paradigm
Yeah, this is pretty wicked. Not a dud in the bunch
Edge of Sanity Crimson II
Edge of Sanity Crimson
Edguy Hellfire Club
Edguy Vain Glory Opera
Edguy Mandrake
Edguy Rocket Ride
Criminally underrated and misunderstood record. The shift from traditional power metal, to a hard rock-oriented sound may come across a little jarring upon the first listen, but where this album really shines is with it's variety and experimentation. No two songs sound alike, with each having it's own memorable quirks to keep you fully engaged.
Elegy (NLD) Lost
Emperor In the Nightside Eclipse
Enforcer From Beyond
Eternity's End Embers of War
This is fucking amazing.

Falconer Falconer

In Flames Colony
In Flames Clayman
In Flames Whoracle
Iron Curtain (ESP) Savage Dawn
Ah hell yeah, the music definitely matches that badass artwork. THIS is how you do throwback metal right here.
Iron Maiden Powerslave
Working their way up, Maiden finally releases a worthwhile album with Bruce. One of Maiden's strongest efforts of the 80's.
Iron Maiden Brave New World
Great return of Bruce and one of the best post Blaze albums Maiden has released. Only issue is that the running times of the songs started to linger too long. This would be an issue that would plague future Maiden releases.
Iron Maiden Empire Of The Clouds
Jag Panzer Ample Destruction
Apt title, this thing fucking slaughtered me.
Journey Escape
The quintessential feel good album. Nothing deep or thought provoking on here, but that's what makes it so enjoyable.
Judas Priest Screaming For Vengeance
Judas Priest Ram It Down
Judas Priest Unleashed In The East
Judas Priest The Complete Albums Collection
Judas Priest Invincible Shield
While not quite on the level of Firepower, Invincible Shield is still an incredibly impressive showcase of pure metal magic from a band that has been kicking for over half a century. Do yourself a favor and skip those bonus tracks, though.r
Kairos Queen of the Hill
This is good, damn good. I'll have to check out their debut now.
Kalmah Swampsong
Kamelot The Black Halo
Kansas Point of Know Return
Kanye West Yeezus
Kendrick Lamar To Pimp a Butterfly
King Diamond Abigail
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard I'm In Your Mind Fuzz
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Infest the Rats' Nest
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Omnium Gatherum
Long as hell, but totally worth it. So many great ideas and sounds present here, and all of them work surprisingly well. The fact that KGLW can pull off two fun rap numbers just goes to show that there isn't a single genre they tackle convincingly.
Kingdom Come In Your Face
KISS Rock And Roll Over
KISS Hotter Than Hell
KISS Creatures Of The Night
Kool G. Rap and DJ Polo Live and Let Die
Kreator Coma of Souls

Lost Horizon A Flame to the Ground Beneath
Loudness Soldier of Fortune
Loudness The Law of Devil's Land
Loudness Shadows of War
Magnum On The 13th Day
Magnum The Serpent Rings
Real shit? This is one of their best albums. Modern Magnum is a force to be reckoned with.
Manilla Road Open the Gates
This album kicks Crystal Logic's ass, and you know it.
Manilla Road The Courts of Chaos
Although albums like Mystification and The Deluge are great, this album right here was the moment where Manilla Road took their sound to the next level. Not quite as heavy as their earlier material, but far more satisfying in my humble opinion.
Manowar Kings Of Metal
Marshall Law Power Game
Imagine if Skid Row continued making good music after Slave to the Grind, and threw in a little double bass drumming. That's basically what this is, and it fucks beyond belief.
Masterplan Masterplan
Mastodon Once More 'Round the Sun
Mayhem Daemon
Hold up, this thing slaps way harder than I was expecting. I might have to start getting into
black metal now. |
Meat Loaf Bat Out of Hell
Meat Loaf Bad Attitude
This album slays from front to back. It may not be as ambitious as the "Bat Out Of Hell"
saga, but the songs are direct, infectious and ridiculously fun. Probably my favorite record
from Mr. Loaf. |
Mega Colossus Riptime
Megadeth Rust In Peace
Megadeth Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!
Megadeth So Far, So Good... So What!

Michael Jackson Dangerous
Midnight Satanic Royalty

This band is fucking amazing. I don't even listen to EP's but their debut was so kickass I
had to. |
Moonlight Sorcery Horned Lord of the Thorned Castle
God this album is fucking awesome. Probably gonna be my pick for album of the year; borderline perfect.

Morbid Saint Spectrum of Death
Motley Crue Shout At The Devil
Motorhead Overkill
Motorhead Another Perfect Day
Motorhead Rock 'N' Roll
Motorhead Kiss Of Death
For my money, this is the best Motorhead record of the 21st century. Inferno isn't far behind it though.
Mr. Bungle Mr. Bungle
"My Ass Is on Fire" sent me into a deep fit of psychosis. I'm still not sure if that is a positive or not.
Narnia Narnia
Some of the most glorious cheese I've heard in a loooooong time. I love it.
Night Ranger Dawn Patrol
Nightwish Once
Ninja Sex Party NSFW
Nocturnus The Key
I'd be a death metal fan if more death metal sounded like this. What a journey this was.
Nuclear Assault Handle with Care
Opeth Still Life
nice
Orden Ogan Easton Hope
Orden Ogan To the End
Orden Ogan The Order of Fear
Orden Ogan bringing the fuckin' HEAT. Some of the most bombastic shit I've heard all year; arena power metal at its finest.
Overkill The Electric Age
Overkill The Grinding Wheel
Re-listened to this today, and it's somehow even better than I remembered it being when I bought it back in 2017. 2010's Overkill could do no wrong, I swear.
Ozzy Osbourne No More Tears
Ozzy Osbourne Diary Of A Madman
Petra On Fire!
Pink Floyd The Wall
They did it. They actually did it. Pink Floyd made an album I actually love. Took a long time to get here, but I finally found a Pink Floyd album I'd personally consider to be exceptional.
Powermad Absolute Power
Why do so many prog-thrash artists only release 1 or 2 albums?
Powerwolf The Sacrament of Sin
Praying Mantis Predator In Disguise
Good stuff! I come back to this one a lot. It hits that sweet spot of cheesy melodic goodness that I can't get enough of. Tracks like 'Can't See the Angels' and 'Borderline' are immortal jams.

Riot V Unleash The Fire
Riot V Armor Of Light
Rocka Rollas The Road to Destruction
Royal Hunt Paradox
Running Wild Death Or Glory
Running Wild Port Royal
Running Wild Victory
Disgustingly low user score for a fantastic album. Not only does Victory have some of the biggest hooks in Running Wild's discog, it is also home to a plethora of catchy riffs and absolutely crushing production job. In need of some serious re-evaluation.
Rush 2112
Rush Power Windows
Best Rush album.
Rush Clockwork Angels
Sabaton Carolus Rex

Stryper To Hell With The Devil
Suicidal Tendencies Lights...Camera...Revolution
Survivor Vital Signs
Tankard Zombie Attack

Tarot Follow Me Into Madness
Tarot Spell Of Iron
One of those underground classics that deserve to be unearthed for the masses to hear. Magical stuff.
Tesla Mechanical Resonance
Testament The Gathering
Testament The New Order
Testament Brotherhood of the Snake
Borderline perfect modern thrash record. BOTS takes the accessibility and catchiness from "The Ritual" and blends it with the relentless aggression of "The Gathering" to create a modern thrash classic. Every aspect of what makes Testament great is on full display here, and it's absolutely glorious.
Testament Para Bellum
Para Bellum is the sound of Testament reaching their final and most glorious form. The fact a band can put out an album this sonically adventurous and fresh so far into their career is genuinely astounding.
The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Okay, fine. I may hate Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, but everything else on here is really good...

The Rolling Stones Beggars Banquet
The Rolling Stones Some Girls
Theocracy Mirror of Souls

The textbook definition of 80s metal. I don't give a shit if it is derivative, it's fucking sweet.
Tilt (JPN) The Beast In Your Bed
One of those hidden gems that makes treasure hunting worth it. Any fans of classic hard rock/metal absolutely need to check this one out. "Stick Into Yours" might have the NASTIEST opening riff I've ever heard.
TNT Intuition
Toto The Seventh One
Best Toto album by a long shot.
Toxik World Circus
Triumph Never Surrender
Trivium Shogun
Shogun
Trivium In the Court of the Dragon
First Trivium album I've enjoyed since Shogun. Matt thankfully keeps his earth-shatteringly rgeneric clean vocals to a minimum, which really helps. I thought I was done with them after rWTDMS, but this pleasantly surprised me. The 2nd half is superb.
Turbo Kawaleria Szatana
GAAAAAAAAALLEON
Turbo Dorosłe dzieci
Twilight Force Tales of Ancient Prophecies

I'm not a huge fan of most modern thrash bands, but Warbringer is certainly an exception. Think we're looking at a modern classic right here.
Warfield With The Old Breed

We all know AC/DC have never, and will never change. But with that being said, this album
is a notable jump in quality, and easily the best thing they've released in nearly 40
years. Dumb fun, but fun regardless. Submit to your inner middle-aged dad and have a good
time. |

Alcatrazz Born Innocent
Graham Bonnet is such an underrated songwriter. Some really great stories on this record.
Alestorm Back Through Time
Rating this a 4 feels kind of ridiculous, but it was such a fun listen. This album is so unapologetic in its retardation that I can't help but admire the sheer amount of goofiness on display.

Okay, this one is actually good unironically.
Alice Cooper Love It To Death
Alice Cooper Dragontown
Alice Cooper Welcome to My Nightmare

Deep Purple Come Taste The Band
This album fucking rocks dude. Replacing Blackmore was a Herculean task, but Bolin fucking SLAYS on here. It's no 'In Rock' or 'Machine Head', but it isn't too far behind. This record is some serious need of reassessment.
Deep Purple Stormbringer
The Coverdale era of Deep Purple is sickeningly underrated. Stormbringer funks AND fucks.
Deep Purple Slaves And Masters
I love this album. I understand why people don't like it, but it hits all the notes I
wanted from a Joe Lynn Turner fronted Deep Purple album. It may not sound like the band's
classic output, but it showed Deep Purple could make a damn good AOR record. |

Evildead Annihilation of Civilization
Evile Hell Unleashed
A song about John Carpenter's The Thing? Yeah, count me in.
Exciter Exciter
Exhorder Mourn the Southern Skies
Never really liked Exhorder's first two albums, but this one is solid from top to bottom. Contender for thrash album of the year.
Exodus Bonded by Blood
Killer songs, but Christ those vocals are rough. Not to speak ill of the dead, but Paul Baloff seriously couldn't sing.
Exodus Force of Habit
Exodus Pleasures of the Flesh
I'd say the songs aren't quite as strong as BbB, but the vocals are 100% better. This kinda revens it out, keeping them on par with each other.
Exodus Persona Non Grata
I really don't understand why people are hating on the vocals so much. He sounds just like he did on Blood In, Blood Out... The material on here is stronger than the stuff on that album too. Their best since Tempo.
Exumer Rising from the Sea
I actually prefer this to the debut
EZO EZO
Fair Warning Fair Warning
Fairyland The Story Remains
Delightfully gay orchestral pm with all the bells and whistles. Perfect album for pride month; check it out, yo.

High energy power metal with a distinct focus on melody and hooks. Among the best 2022 PM albums released thus far.
Frozen Crown War Hearts
I've been pretty lukewarm to this band for a long time, but they finally managed to impress me. Their best record to date.
Frozen Land Out Of The Dark
I really enjoyed this; that last track is somethin else man. I can safely say I've never heard anything like it on a power metal record.

Gojira Fortitude
I'll be honest; I think I enjoy Gojira's more streamlined sound in comparison to their early work.
Grave Digger Rheingold
Grave Digger Symbol of Eternity
Green Jelly 333
Green Lung Black Harvest
A marked improvement over the debut. Definitely has some energy that the previous album lacked at points.

Halford Resurrection
Halloween Don't Metal With Evil
HammerFall Glory To The Brave
HammerFall Legacy Of Kings
HammerFall Crimson Thunder
HammerFall Hammer Of Dawn

Hardline Double Eclipse
Harem Scarem Mood Swings
Haunt (USA-CA) Mosaic Vision
Haunt (USA-CA) Mind Freeze
Haunt (USA-CA) Beautiful Distraction

This band is pretty hit or miss for me, but this new album really hits. One of their best
Havok Time Is Up
He Is Legend White Bat
He Is Legend Endless Hallway
I genuinely cannot categorize this into any established genre that I'm aware of.
Heathen Victims of Deception
Heaven and Hell The Devil You Know
Heavy Load Death Or Glory
A glorious little hidden gem from the early 80s. The band isn't super tight performance wise, but the spirit and love for the genre are on full display, and it's extremely charming. Imagine a more downtempo Manilla Road with better vocals.
Heavy Load Stronger Than Evil
Helloween The Dark Ride
Helloween Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy
Helloween Master Of The Rings
Helloween Rabbit Don't Come Easy
Helloween Giants & Monsters
Happy to report the self titled wasn't a fluke, and the chemistry the band had on said album is very much intact. Definitely a worthy follow-up, even if the production is a little muddy in places.r

Huey Lewis and the News Hard at Play
Hm, I was expecting this to be a piece of shit based on the user scores, but I really enjoyed this. 11 tracks of the feel good pop-rock I know and love from Huey and the Boys. Couple Days Off is a HARD jam.

In Flames The Jester Race
In Flames Come Clarity
In Flames Foregone
Insane Clown Posse The Great Milenko
Insane Clown Posse Riddle Box
Insane Clown Posse The Amazing Jeckel Brothers
Yeah, I definitely fuck with this. Most of it is over-the-top comedic horrorcore; but tracks like Echo Side are genuinely good in an unironic way.
Iron Maiden Dance Of Death
The last time Maiden sounded like they were actually having fun. Take off the last 3 tracks, and you've got one hell of a Maiden album. Doesn't top Brave New World, but it does stand as one of their best post-Blaze era releases.
Iron Maiden Iron Maiden
Great debut from metal legends. Only fault is the two slower songs that detract from the album's feel.
Iron Maiden Fear Of The Dark
Easily Maiden's most varied and interesting record to date. Not everything on here lands, but when it does, it's fantastic. Had the band cut a couple filler tracks, this may have landed a spot in my top 5 Maiden albums.
Iron Maiden The X Factor
Fiercely underrated album. Only hated because it's not Bruce, but that's why the album succeeds in being such a great listen. "Sign of the Cross" is the best Iron Maiden song ever.
Iron Maiden Live After Death
Iron Maiden Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
Man I used to think this album was the shit back in the day. I still think it's a solid Maiden release, but any time those self indulgent prog ballads kick in I kinda wanna ralph. The more times I revisit it, the less I like it.
Iron Maiden The Book Of Souls
The last two albums were weak as hell. Let's hope they found out how to pace songs or else we'll
be subjected to an 18 minute song with two riffs.
Update: This album really exceeded my expectations. Maiden has finally figured out how to pad out
songs running times, making every second of each song feel necessary. Every song fits together
like a puzzle. I think a large fact of the albums greatness is the fact that Harris was absent
through most of the songwriting process, allowing the rest of the bands writing abilities to
really shine. While not perfect, it's immensely satisfying to hear Maiden with this much energy
again. Overall a damn good album, and their best since 'The X Factor'. |
Iron Savior Iron Savior
Iron Savior Battering Ram
Iron Savior Skycrest
Iron Savior Firestar
Isiliel Moonbow Rebellion
There are more than a few dry spots to be found here, but the highlights are absolutely fantastic. 'Black Moon' and 'Serpent's Aubade' are some of best tracks I've heard in 2025 thus far.
Jag Panzer Mechanized Warfare
Jag Panzer Age of Mastery
Jag Panzer Chain of Command
Jag Panzer Shadow Thief
Jani Liimatainen My Father's Son
An interesting, surprising and sonically dynamic power metal album in 2022? I must be dreaming.
Journey Infinity
Journey Frontiers
Journey Freedom
I was not expecting this to be any good at all, yet here I am giving this a 4. Even though its 20 minutes too long, this is probably their strongest record since Frontiers in 85.
Judas Priest Turbo
Judas Priest Redeemer Of Souls
The More listens, the more I like it. Best Priest album since Painkiller.
Judicator Let There Be Nothing
Kalmah They Will Return
Kalmah Palo

Kamelot Karma
Kamelot The Fourth Legacy

King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard L. W.
Imagine releasing 17 consecutive bangers in under 9 years.
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of...
Very nice. I still like Rat's Nest more, but the boys definitely took more risks this time around, which I appreciate greatly.
King Kobra Thrill of a Lifetime
Iron Eagle is a banger for the ages, and the rest is solid collection of high energy AOR.
KISS Love Gun

KISS Revenge
Kix Blow My Fuse
Kix Midnite Dynamite
Kreator Pleasure to Kill
Kreator Violent Revolution

Kreator Gods of Violence
Krokus Heart Attack
I don't know if I'm just easy to impress, but I really dig this. Great party rock record
Krokus The Blitz
An average of a 2.8? The fuck are you guys smoking? This is a killer hard rock record.
Krokus Hardware
Krokus Hellraiser
Kryptos Force Of Danger
Force of Danger may be a little more streamlined than it's predecessor, but the overall experience is a tad better in my opinion. The title track sounds like it came straight off an Ambush record, which is never a bad thing.

Leverage Gravity
An adventurous little record. It's all over the place stylistically, but these mad lads actually manage to make it work. Bonus points for capping it at 8 tracks; wish more bands would stop overcramming their albums.

Melvins Bad Mood Rising
Their last album was a step in the right direction, and this record completed their transition back into solid music. On another note, Buzz kinda sounds like Brett Hinds on this album.

The operatic female vocals may be distracting and occasionally annoying, but the songs themselves are fuckin' sick.
Ninja Sex Party Strawberries and Cream
Ninja Sex Party Attitude City
Ninja Sex Party These Nuts
Their best since Attitude City. Most of the songs got a chuckle out of me, and Nut Heat legitimately made me bust a gut laughing.

Nocturnus Thresholds
Norther Mirror of Madness
Nuclear Assault Survive
Nuclear Assault Game Over

This album needed to be as good as it is to get the foul taste of Damnation out of my mouth.
You redeemed yourself Opeth. |
Opeth The Last Will and Testament
Alright, welcome back Opeth. No more prog rock albums, okay?
Orden Ogan Vale
Orden Ogan Ravenhead
Deaf Among the Blind is THE jam, my friends.
Outworld (UY) Sky Keeper
Apparently this album was made by one dude. I am genuinely impressed with how cohesive and fleshed out the material is here.
Overkill Taking Over
Overkill Feel the Fire
Overkill White Devil Armory
Overkill The Wings of War
Yet again, my opinion on this album was grown quite a bit since the last time I listened to
it. It's undeniably their weakest record from the 2010's, but it's still leaps and bounds
above what most other thrash acts are releasing nowadays. Good luck finding a band this old
releasing music with this much intensity.
*Bumping this up from a 3.5 to a 4. |
Owlbear Feather and Claw
Definitely an Owlbear situation going on here
Oxygen Destroyer Guardian of the Universe
kaiju metal always hits
Ozzy Osbourne Blizzard Of Ozz
Palantir Chasing a Dream
I enjoyed this quite a bit. Reminds me of vintage Stratovarius with it's emphasis on melody and instrumentation, but with a refreshing amount of restraint which is hard to come by these days.
Pantera Power Metal
Great album to end a career on. Shame they never made any more music after this...
Pentagram Sub-Basement

Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
Finally, a Pink Floyd album I understand the hype behind.
Pink Floyd Meddle
The opening track is dope and 'Echoes' is amazing, but everything in between shouldn't be there. With that being said, those two songs are enough for me to actually recommend this album to people like myself, who don't enjoy prog.
Pink Floyd A Momentary Lapse Of Reason
I am not a Pink Floyd fan by any means, but this is easily my favorite Pink Floyd record. Doesn't sound much like traditional PF, which is probably the reason I like it so much.
Poltergeist (CHE) Depression
One of those albums I listened to because I liked the cover art. Great artwork, and great record.
Poppy I Disagree (more)
These new tracks are some of Poppy's strongest material. I'd say keeping them off the initial release hurt it quite a bit. If you're gonna listen to any version this record, make it this one.
Portrait (SWE) Crossroads
Really enjoyable Fate worship.
Possessed Revelations of Oblivion
Wow, I didn't expect much going in, but I was blown away by how old-school and intense this sounded.
Power Quest Neverworld
Power Quest Magic Never Dies
Power Quest Sixth Dimension
PowerDream Beast Unleashed
This store brand Beast in Black album kinda fucks, not gonna lie.
Powerwolf Blood of the Saints
Powerwolf Call of the Wild
Okay, so I listened to this two years later, and for some reason it fucking slapped this time. Bumped from a 3 to a 4.
Powerwolf Interludium
For an album of leftovers, the material here is surprisingly awesome. Genuinely one of their strongest releases to date.
Praying Mantis Time Tells No Lies
Praying Mantis Legacy
Praying Mantis Forever in Time
Praying Mantis Gravity
Probably the band's most creative and varied release to date. Covers a lot of sonic ground, but still manages to be a cohesive package.
Praying Mantis Defiance
Color me impressed; I was not expecting this to be so good. The track "Standing Tall" is a strange, yet awesome little bit of sonic experimentation for a band that been around since the dawn of the NWOBHM.
Pretty Maids Spooked
An absolutely excellent collection of songs; the only issue is that there are a few too many. Cut about 5 to 10 minutes and this would definitely be one of their best.

Radiohead The Bends
Rage Soundchaser
Rage Ghosts
Rage XIII
Rage Secrets In A Weird World

Ratt Detonator
Ratt Infestation
One hell of a comeback, even if it was a one off. That guitar tone fucking RIPPPPS.

This album went a lot harder than it needed to. No joke, one of their best.
Razor Shotgun Justice

Rob Zombie The Sinister Urge
Rocka Rollas Celtic Kings
Rough Silk Beyond the Sundown
Rough Silk ditch the more experimental elements of the previous two albums and get heavy. Definitely a good choice.
Rough Silk Roots Of Hate
Now THIS is a hidden gem right here. It's like if Ratt made a power metal album, and it somehow works.
Rough Silk Mephisto
The sonic progression of this band needs to be studied. It's crazy how much these guys shake up their sound on each album.

Royal Hunt Show Me How To Live
Royal Hunt Clown In The Mirror
Running Wild Blazon Stone

If you would have told me Running Wild would release one of the best albums of their career in 2021, I would have laughed in your face and called you a complete retard. But here we are in 2021, with Running Wild releasing a late-career opus that rivals their strongest material from the 80's and 90's.

Really cool retro-metal album. Has enough riffs to feed an African village for weeks
Savatage Dead Winter Dead
Savatage Edge of Thorns
Savatage The Dungeons are Calling
Saxon Lionheart
Good album, but it's definitely a bit overrated; there are better 21st century Saxon records readily available.
Saxon Crusader
Much better than I remember it being. Production is a bit thin, but the tunes are pretty tight.
Saxon Wheels Of Steel
Saxon Destiny
I hate the "softer = shit" mindset most people have in regards to this record. Sure, it's not much of a metal album, but it's one hell of an AOR album.
Saxon Metalhead
Saxon Strong Arm Of The Law
Saxon The Inner Sanctum

Striker Stand In The Fire
Striker Play To Win
A much more cohesive and finished product than their previous release only a year prior. A small
gripe I have with the record lies in it's lyrics and how many times the phrases "Into the night"
or "Through the night" are used. The album has a bit of a pacing issue, with the tempo's lacking
variation, and the drum work, while impressive on a technical level, is a little too similar from
track to track. However, Striker manages to deliver the goods when it comes to killer production,
sheer intensity, technical ability, and raw power.

Talisman Talisman
Tankard The Morning After
Tankard Beast of Bourbon
Tankard The Tankard
Tankard One Foot In The Grave
The fact that this record holds the 2nd lowest community ranking for any Tankard album is not only wrong, it's insulting. This album and RIB are among the best records the band has ever released.
Tarot Suffer Our Pleasures
Tarot Stigmata
Tarot To Live Forever
Tarot Gravity Of Light
Tenacious D Tenacious D
Teramaze And The Beauty They Perceive
Yet another shining example that Christian metal doesn't have to sound forced or sterile. Might be a little too much fluffy frilly stuff for my liking, but there is a lot of really solid material here.
Tesla The Great Radio Controversy
Tesla Psychotic Supper
Tesla Bust A Nut
Testament The Legacy
Testament The Formation of Damnation
Testament Titans of Creation
Really dig the harder edge on this one, pretty fucking heavy. My only issue with with TOC is that it has no hooks whatsoever.

The Night Flight Orchestra Aeromantic
The Night Flight Orchestra Aeromantic II
Haven't listened to these guys in a long time, but I'm glad I decided to give this album a shot. 'How Long' is one of the catchiest songs I've heard in months.
The Rods Wild Dogs
A charming little hard rock/heavy metal gem from the early 80's that's definitely worth a listen.
The Rods Heavier Than Thou
The Rolling Stones Tattoo You
The Rolling Stones Dirty Work
Of course I love their "worst" album. I have a tendency to do that... For real though, this album is a ton of fun.
The Rolling Stones Between the Buttons
The Rolling Stones It's Only Rock 'n' Roll
The Rolling Stones Steel Wheels
The Rolling Stones Hackney Diamonds
This has no right being as good as it is.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this to be so good. Even against their other two outstanding classic records this holds up. I know Breaking Class may have left a bad taste in your mouth, but I assure you these guys got their shit together and delivered us a smorgasbord of unorthodox thrash goodness.r
Trastorned Into The Void
I love modern thrash that's actually good.
Traveler (CAN) Prequel to Madness
Tribulation Where The Gloom Becomes Sound

Triumph Allied Forces
Triumph Triumph
Triumph Progressions Of Power
Triumph Just A Game
Triumph Thunder Seven
Triumph Edge Of Excess
Triumpher Spirit Invictus
A noted step up from the debut. Jmal00 is on crack, and Smok is on meth.r
Trivium Ascendancy
Trivium The Crusade
I don't give a shit what anyone says, this album fucks.
Turbo Ostatni Wojownik
Why aren't these guys more popular? Their trad material and thrash material are both excellent and a lot of fun.
Turbo Smak Ciszy
Turnstile Time and Space
Twilight Force Heroes of Mighty Magic
Twilight Force At the Heart of Wintervale
While the longer compositions may be a little lackluster, I just can't deny how much fun this thing is. Twilight Force are THE premier act in modern power metal, so you really can't go wrong with giving this a listen. Feel-good metal at its finest.
Twisted Sister Under The Blade
Twisted Sister You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll
Tygers Of Pan Tang Spellbound

Uriah Heep Demons And Wizards
Uriah Heep The Magician's Birthday
Uriah Heep Look At Yourself
Uriah Heep ...Very 'Eavy Very 'Umble...
Almost exceptional, with one glaring issue. That last track probably should have been cut, it really hurts the overall flow of the album.

Uriah Heep Living the Dream
Van Halen For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge

If ANY of you mfs don't cry for Pompeii, I'll give you something to cry about.
Virgin Steele The House Of Atreus: Act I
Visigoth Conqueror's Oath

I was pretty "meh" on their previous album, but they really stepped up their game for this new one. Consistently enjoyable from front to back.
Voivod Killing Technology
Voivod War And Pain
Very nice. The followup kinda sucks balls, but the debut is quite satisfying.
Voivod Target Earth
Voivod Synchro Anarchy
I don't think Voivod have any bad albums left in them. I guarantee that every new record they release from here to their retirement will be absolute bangers.
Volcano (JPN) Davi
Volcano (JPN) Leviathan
Vulture (DE) The Guillotine
W.A.S.P. Dominator
Apt title
W.A.S.P. The Last Command
Album fucks hard. Get on it you guys.
W.A.S.P. Golgotha
This is so solid. Dying For the World, Dominator and Babylon proved that W.A.S.P. were still a force to be reckoned with and Golgotha basically cemented them as living legends. I usually disapprove of bands taking themselves too seriously, but Blackie pulls it off with flying colors. Hopefully this isn't the last record they release, but if it is, it's a great note to go out on.
Wanted Cutting Edge

Discovered that the deluxe edition contains a version of the album with dark barks in place
of vocals. This made me laugh pretty hard. |

Alice Cooper Lace and Whiskey
Alice Cooper From the Inside
Alice Cooper Raise Your Fist and Yell
Alice Cooper The Last Temptation
Alice Cooper The Revenge of Alice Cooper

Another solid offering, but I think Tobi is getting a bit too comfortable with his songwriting.
Avantasia Here Be Dragons
Their strongest collection of songs since Ghostlights. It's nice to see Tobi becoming more direct with his songwriting, and not overdoing it with a ridiculous amount of guest stars. A lot less whimsical than the past few albums, and I think that really works to the record's advantage. Fingers crossed we get an Edguy album next, because we are long overdue.
Axel Rudi Pell Between The Walls
Axel Rudi Pell Black Moon Pyramid
Axel Rudi Pell Magic
Axel Rudi Pell Shadow Zone
Axel Rudi Pell Mystica

Axel Rudi Pell Knights Call
Axxis Doom Of Destiny
Axxis Eyes Of Darkness
Axxis The Big Thrill
Axxis Monster Hero
BABYMETAL Metal Galaxy
I don't like it as much as Metal Resistance, but they manage to pack so much weird shit in here that I can forgive it.
Bad Religion Suffer
Bad Religion Stranger Than Fiction
Baest Colossal
cool little album we got goin here.
Band-Maid Unseen World
good album
Baroness Gold And Grey
Bathory Twilight of the Gods
Battle Beast Steel
Battle Beast Bringer of Pain
Be'lakor The Frail Tide
Beast In Black Dark Connection
The songwriting is a little weaker than the first 2 records, but it still delivers
everything you'd want from a Beast in Black album. There's also a song dedicated to Cyber
City Oedo: 808, which makes me very happy. |
Believer Extraction From Mortality
Believer Transhuman
Belushi Speed Ball Stellkira
Black Sabbath Born Again
I don't give a shit if Gillan doesn't fit the band or how shitty the artwork is. This album has a song called "Digital Bitch", I'm kind of required to like it.
Black Sabbath The Eternal Idol
Black Sabbath Tyr
Black Sabbath 13
Black Sabbath Forbidden (2024 Tony Iommi Remix)
I've never heard a remix that is as transformative as this one is. It is honestly a completely different experience, and a pretty enjoyable one at that.
Black Sites Exile
Not too shabby. Nothing on here is very memorable, but it's consistently decent throughout.
Blazon Stone Down in the Dark
Blazon Stone Hymns of Triumph and Glory
Blind Guardian Follow The Blind
Blind Guardian Battalions Of Fear
Blind Guardian At The Edge Of Time
Blitzkrieg The Mists of Avalon
Blitzkrieg Sins and Greed
Blitzkrieg Theatre of the Damned
Blitzkrieg Back from Hell
Blood Incantation Absolute Elsewhere
Well this was overhyped. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid album, but that user score made me think I was going to have my mind blown.
Bloodbound Unholy cross
Bloodbound Creatures of the Dark Realm
Nowhere near as strong as ROTDE, but it's still a solid hunk of melodic power metal.
Blue Oyster Cult Blue Öyster Cult
Blue Oyster Cult Spectres
Bob Catley Legends
Body Count Carnivore
Love these guys, and I really dig this new record. The boys in BC sound tight as fuck on here, leaving nothing to be desired in the performance department. I'd say may biggest critique would be the talking points and social criticisms aren't quite as sharp as they were on Bloodlust, and they seem to be treading over too much familiar water.
Bolt Thrower The IVth Crusade
Booze Control Forgotten Lands
Booze Control The Lizard Rider
Boston Walk On
Bow Wow (JPN) Hoero! Bow Wow 吼えろ! バウワウ
Bow Wow (JPN) Signal Fire
Bow Wow (JPN) Hard Dog
A breath of fresh metal air after 3 consecutive pop rock failures. Hard Dog indeed.
Bow Wow (JPN) Era
finally some good fucking food
Bow Wow (JPN) Mountain Top
Bow Wow (JPN) Beat of Metal Motion
The first album of Bow Wow's "VowWow" era, and a solid sonic embodiment of what was on the horizon.
Brainstorm Unholy
Brainstorm Wall of Skulls
Brazen Abbot Bad Religion
Brazen Abbot Guilty As Sin
Brazen Abbot My Resurrection
Brothers Of Metal Fimbulvinter
Power metal comfort food. Doesn't do anything new, but it doesn't really need to. Other Son of Odin is the obvious highlight, and might be the catchiest song I've heard all year.
Bruce Dickinson Tyranny Of Souls
Candlemass Ancient Dreams
Carcass Swansong
Carcass Torn Arteries
Cauldron Chained To The Nite
Cauldron Tomorrow's Lost

Chris Stapleton From A Room: Volume 1
Cirith Ungol Forever Black
What a weird fuckin' vocalist they have. Thankfully, he's what makes this record stand out in a good way.
Cirith Ungol Dark Parade
Cloven Hoof Cloven Hoof
Cloven Hoof Age of Steel
Cloven Hoof Time Assassin
What a fantastic album cover.

D.R.I. Crossover
D.R.I. 4 of a Kind
D.R.I. Dealing with It!
Danzig Circle of Snakes
Darkness (DE) Conclusion And Revival
That artwork is so bad that it becomes amazing. I'm giving this album a 0.5 rating bump because of it.
Darkthrone Transilvanian Hunger
Darkthrone Under a Funeral Moon
Darkthrone Panzerfaust
Darkthrone The Underground Resistance
Darkthrone Old Star
Not as good as their previous album, but 1000 times better than anything off of FOAD and Circle the Wagons.
David Lee Roth Eat 'Em And Smile
Dawn of Destiny IX
Death Angel Frolic Through the Park
Death Angel Killing Season
Death Angel Relentless Retribution
Deathhammer Crimson Dawn
Deceased Children of the Morgue
Deep Purple Who Do We Think We Are
The weakest Gillian record of the 70's but still lightyears ahead of the first 3 albums. This really isn't half bad.
Deep Purple inFinite
Another enjoyable offering in post-Blackmore era. Some interesting ideas and concepts
present, but not too many memorable moments in the first 5 tracks. Thankfully, the second
half really picks up the slack and gives us some good shit. |
Deep Purple =1
Hey, this is good stuff; Deep Purple continue to exceed my expectations. I figured they'd be toast without Morse, but just like losing Blackmore, they haven't missed a beat. Keep on keeping on DP.
Def Leppard Adrenalize
Demon Hold on to the Dream
Demon Better the Devil You Know
Demoniac Stormblade
Demons and Wizards III
Denzel Curry Zuu
Destruction The Antichrist
Destruction Inventor Of Evil
Destruction Eternal Devastation
Destruction Infernal Overkill
Destruction All Hell Breaks Loose
Destruction Day Of Reckoning
Destruction Diabolical
Definitely a step in the right direction. They actually managed stick in a couple killer
tracks and few memorable riffs this time around. Standard, but solid modern thrash. |
Detente Recognize No Authority
Dethklok Dethalbum III
A big step down from their previous album, but does get better on repeated listens.
Dethklok The Doomstar Requiem
I fucking hate musicals, but this was absolutely delightful. What a great way to end the series.
Diamond Head Canterbury
I kinda dig this, not gonna lie. However, I will attest that it probably shouldn't have been released as a Diamond Head album.
Diamond Head Diamond Head
Dio Killing The Dragon
Dio Dream Evil
Dire Straits Dire Straits
Dokken Breaking The Chains
Dokken Erase The Slate
Dokken Heaven Comes Down
Underwhelming first half, but side two has some sick riffs. I'm glad I gave it a listen.
DragonForce Sonic Firestorm
DragonForce Extreme Power Metal
Fuck it, I had a lot of fun with this album. I don't think it's as good as their past 3 albums, but I certainly enjoyed my time with this one.
DragonForce Warp Speed Warriors
Utterly retarded. I love it. Ya'll need to lighten up and have some fun every once and a while; this was such a good time.
Dragonknight Legions
Gets off to a rocky start, but really redeems itself once it gets to the halfway mark. Worth checking out if you need a power metal fix.
Dragony Hic Svnt Dracones
Dream Evil United
Dream Evil Evilized
Dream Theater Train of Thought
Dream Theater Systematic Chaos
Dream Theater Parasomnia
This would have easily gotten a 4 if that last track was 10 minutes shorter.
Dreamtale Everlasting Flame
Dynazty Sultans Of Sin
Dynazty Firesign
Earthshaker Midnight Flight
Earthshaker Overrun
Earthshaker Smash

Elvenking Reader of the Runes - Luna
So much better than their previous album. So much better.
Emerald Eye Night Without Day
Emperor Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire...
Enforcer Zenith
Mark my words; this will become an underrated classic in 20 years.
Entombed Left Hand Path
Eunomia The Chronicles of Eunomia, Pt. 2
Europe Wings of Tomorrow
Evergrey The Inner Circle
Evergrey The Dark Discovery
Evergrey Recreation Day
Evergrey Hymns For The Broken
Evergrey A Heartless Portrait (The Orphéan Testament)
This just didn't hit the spot like their previous release did. Still decent, just not amazing.
Evil Invaders Shattering Reflection
Exciter Heavy Metal Maniac
Exciter Long Live The Loud
Exciter Thrash Speed Burn
Exodus Blood In, Blood Out
Exumer Possessed by Fire
Exvamon Odyssey of Fate
Short and vicious, just like my penis.
Faith No More King For A Day... Fool For A Lifetime
Mike goes fuckin' nuts on this album. Not my favorite, but it is still pretty fun.
Faith No More Introduce Yourself
Falconer Chapters From A Vale Forlorn
Falconer From A Dying Ember
Fate (DK) Cruisin' for a Bruisin'
Fates Warning Parallels
Fates Warning A Pleasant Shade of Gray
Fellowship The Skies Above Eternity
Firewind Forged by Fire
Firewind Allegiance
Flotsam and Jetsam No Place for Disgrace
Flotsam and Jetsam The Cold
First 2 songs are meh, but the rest is really solid.
FM (UK) Takin' It To The Streets
FM (UK) Aphrodisiac
Freedom Call Crystal Empire
Freedom Call Land Of The Crimson Dawn
Freedom Call Silver Romance
These guys have a certain corny vibe that always hits a sweet spot for me. They aren't worried about being cool, they just want to give you goofy and catchy power metal that makes you smile; and God bless them for it.
Frozen Crown Winterbane
Fuming Mouth The Grand Descent
Solid from start to finish, but loses a little bit of steam at the halfway point.
Galneryus Advance To The Fall
Galneryus Resurrection
Galneryus Vetelgyus
Galneryus The Stars Will Light the Way
Gama Bomb Sea Savage
Not as strong as Speed Between the Lines, but still tons of fun. Modern Gama Bomb is definitely a step above the majority of their uber-serious contemporaries. I'm glad these guys exist.
Gamma Ray Sigh No More
Gamma Ray Heading For Tomorrow
Gary Moore Corridors Of Power
Ghost (SWE) Infestissumam
Ghost (SWE) Seven Inches Of Satanic Panic
Giant (USA) Last Of The Runaways
Gloryhammer Tales from the Kingdom of Fife
Gloryhammer Return to the Kingdom of Fife
It's Gloryhammer, so catchy hooks and rich lore are guaranteed. It's well above average modern power metal, but it's lacking a certain charm that Angus brought to their past material.
Glyph (CAN) Honor. Power. Glory.
Gorillaz Gorillaz
Gorillaz Plastic Beach
Gorillaz The Now Now
Grailknights Muscle Bound For Glory
Grave Digger Tunes Of War
Grave Digger Heavy Metal Breakdown

Grave Digger The Clans Will Rise Again
Grave Digger War Games
Grave Digger Return of the Reaper
Grave Digger Healed by Metal
Great White Once Bitten....
Green Lung Woodland Rites
I enjoyed it, but there was one glaring issue I had with it. I couldn't shake the feeling that these guys sounded like a satanic Greta Van Fleet.
Greta Van Fleet Anthem of the Peaceful Army
A consistent and catchy listen, albeit a tad uninspired and unoriginal. Lyrically the album touches upon all the lyrical tropes you would expect from an album of this nature. Despite the album's creative faults, it still remains a highly enjoyable listen with a very talented band to back it up. Hopefully they stray from the cut and paste Led Zeppelin format in the future.
Greta Van Fleet The Battle at Garden's Gate
Definitely a bit too long, but an solid throwback rock album. These guys aren't the musical disease that so many mouth breathers claim they are.
Greyhawk Thunderheart
Not sure why I enjoyed this as much as I did.
Grim Reaper Fear No Evil
Grim Reaper Walking in the Shadows
Grim Reaper At The Gates
Was not expecting this to be so good. Steve's voice is for the most part intact, and 'The Hand
That Rocks the Cradle' is among one of the band's best songs. Kinda suffers from a top heavy track
list though. |
GWAR The New Dark Ages
Hagane Top of the Tower
Cute Japanese women and power metal is an insane combo.
Halloween Victims of the Night
Halloween No One Gets Out

Hell Fire Mania
Helloween Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part II
Helloween Gambling with the Devil

Not too shabby. Impactful female-fronted power metal that manages to surprisingly heavy.
Highland Glory Forever Endeavour
Hitten Triumph & Tragedy
Holy Moses Invisible Queen
Honeymoon Suite The Big Prize
Hot Dad Are President
Hot Dad The Chowder Man
House of Lords Saints And Sinners
Howler (CR) Descendants of Evil
Modern thrash that actually hits the spot. Give it a listen if you're in the mood for some riffs.

Huey Lewis and the News Weather
Hypocrisy The Final Chapter
Hypocrisy A Taste of Extreme Divinity
Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream
Iced Earth The Dark Saga
Iced Earth Iced Earth
Iced Earth Incorruptible
Immortal Blizzard Beasts
Immortal Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism
Immortal War Against All
Probably my least favorite since Blizzards Beasts, but by no means a dud. Great songs throughout, just a tad forgettable.
Impellitteri Eye Of The Hurricane
Impellitteri Grin And Bear It
In Flames Reroute to Remain
Infernal Majesty None Shall Defy
Insane Clown Posse Fearless Fred Fury
These guys will always be a guilty pleasure of mine. Love their cheesy horror-themed lyrics, and their bombastic 90's style production. Probably their best since Jeckel Brothers.
Insomnium In the Halls of Awaiting
Starts with a bang, but lost my attention about 2/3's of the way through. Still solid though.
Iron Fire Beyond the Void
Straightforward well performed Power Metal. That's all I wanted from this record, and it's exactly
what I got. |
Iron Maiden Piece Of Mind
"Where Eagles Dare" may be one of my favorite Maiden songs, but this album also contains two of Maiden's weakest songs. "Die With Your Boots On" and "Quest For Fire" are completely abysmal efforts.
Iron Maiden Killers
Wrathchild and Killers are some of the best songs Maiden has to offer.
Iron Maiden Virtual XI
Underrated gem in Maiden's discography. Aside from the 10 minute abomination Angel and the Gambler, the rest of the material on here is really solid.
Iron Savior Unification
Iron Savior Condition Red
Iron Savior The Landing
Iron Savior Rise of the Hero
Iron Savior Titancraft
Jag Panzer Thane to the Throne
Jag Panzer The Fourth Judgement

Jag Panzer The Deviant Chord
Journey Evolution
Journey Eclipse
Judas Priest Stained Class
I want to love this. I swear
Judas Priest British Steel
Judas Priest Angel Of Retribution
Solid return of metal god Rob Halford, in what was supposed to be "Sad Wings 2" but ended up being "Painkiller 2"
Judas Priest Killing Machine
Judas Priest Jugulator
Judas Priest Priest...Live!
Judicator Concord
Much better, Judicator. Much better.

King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Quarters
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Polygondwanaland
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard K.G.
Outside of Automation, I seriously didn't enjoy any of the singles for this album.
Thankfully, the rest of the stuff on here is pretty solid, if not a tad predictable.
Intrapsort was probably the biggest surprise on here, definitely the album's biggest
highlight. |
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard FLIGHT b741
"The King Gizz fan base is the equivalent of the Rick and Morty fan base."

KISS Sonic Boom
KISS Lick It Up
Kix Hot Wire
Korn The Nothing
This thing kinda slaps, and I don't even like Korn
Kreator Hordes of Chaos
Kreator Hate Über Alles
Not their strongest release, but nowhere near a dud. Other than Overkill and these guys, you'd be hard pressed to find a classic thrash act putting out music of this quality.
Krokus One Vice At A Time
Krokus Hoodoo
Krokus Metal Rendez-Vous
Krokus Stampede
Krokus To Rock Or Not To Be

Krokus Rock The Block
Krokus Dirty Dynamite
Kryptos Afterburner
Kuenring In Search of Paradise
While it doesn't hit as hard as Neon Nights did, they definitely upped their creativity with this album becoming borderline progressive in places. Really dig the production, with the bass being front-and-center in the mix.

Megadeth Th1rt3en

Wasn't feeling the first few tracks, but the second half really won me over.
Mekong Delta The Music of Erich Zann

Mekong Delta In a Mirror Darkly
Melodius Deite Demonology
Melvins Working with God
Did Melvins actually just release another decent album?
Mentalist Empires Falling
Enjoyably cheesy. It's charming lack of self-conceit really won me over in the end. Just a group of boys making dumb, fun trad/power metal.
Merciless Law Troops of Steel
Hey, this was pretty fun! Street Fighter is a hard jam.

If you like Thin Lizzy's heavier material, give this one a shot. Solid hard rock with some great riffs
Midnight No Mercy for Mayhem
Midnight Hellish Expectations
Midnight Priest Midnight Steel
Moonlight Haze Beyond
I typically do not care for this style of power metal, but this is undeniably solid. Short, sweet and to the point fem-vox power metal.

I'm with Panzer on this one; what the fuck is wrong with the art? It's basically just a reinterpretation of the artwork featured on the singles released for Seventh Son by Iron Maiden.

Nickelback Feed the Machine
Nickelback was never as awful and most people claimed. This album is actually pretty decent
Night Ranger Somewhere In California
Nightwish Dark Passion Play
Nightwish Yesterwynde
Definitely a big step up from their previous few albums. With that being said, I wish they would have spread out the harder hitting tracks a little more, instead of placing them all in the first half.r
Ninja Sex Party The Prophecy
I'm not a big fan of the newer overproduced sound they've acquired over the past few years; or those fucking covers albums they wont stop releasing. With that being said, I'm pleasantly surprised with this one. If there's one thing these guys haven't made me do in a while, it's laugh, but The Prophecy did make me chuckle a few times. I even enjoyed the normally unfunny skits they stick in between tracks on this one.

Who's the turbo virgin who gave this album a premature one?
Ozzy Osbourne No Rest For The Wicked
Ozzy Osbourne Scream
Pantera Cowboys from Hell
Panthalassan From the Shallows of the Mantle
Another one man band, but a pretty promising one at that. While some of the tracks feel a little long-winded, they at least have enough going on to make the experience a positive one. Trimming the fat, and a better vocalist could have earned this a 4.
Paradox Heresy II - End of a Legend
Good material, but WAYYY too fucking long.
Paradox Mysterium
If it wasn't for the uber-compressed production job, i probably would have given this a 4.

Pink Floyd Animals
I was really expecting to hate "fUcK cApItAlIsM" the album, but aside from the boring rdrudgery of 'Dogs', I actually really enjoyed this one. This is a classic case of rdisagreeing with a band's message, but enjoying the record regardless.
Poppy I Disagree
I guess this is the next logical step for her to go. Concrete is easily the best song on here, kinda dips after that. Still thoroughly enjoyable though.

The album of leftovers they released last year was honestly stronger than this group of new tracks. That being said, there is plenty of fun to be had here; and the short runtime makes it a breeze to listen to.
Praying Mantis A Cry For The New World
Praying Mantis Sanctuary
Praying Mantis To the Power of Ten
Praying Mantis Nowhere to Hide
Praying Mantis Katharsis
AOR with double bass? Yes please.
Pretty Maids Sin-Decade

Pretty Maids Kingmaker
Primal Fear Primal Fear
Primal Fear Jaws Of Death
Primal Fear Metal Commando
Primal Fear Code Red
Primus Tales from the Punchbowl
Psychotic Waltz The God-Shaped Void
Pretty solid from start to finish. However, it really isn't all too memorable, and I doubt I'll ever get the urge to listen to it again.
Q5 When the Mirror Cracks
Queen A Night at the Opera
Dude, I get Bohemian Rhapsody is a classic, but most of this album is passable pussy rock fluff. That hardened edge of the first 3 records is gone, and it is sorely lacking. I mean, this is still a solid album, but it is FAR from their best.
Queen A Day at the Races
Queen The Game
Queen The Works
Queen A Kind of Magic
Queen of Dreams Subnivium
Queensryche Condition Human
Queensryche The Verdict
Strong release from the group, especially after a two decade long drought of good music from them.
Getting rid of Tate was the best decision they ever made. |
Queensryche Digital Noise Alliance
Quiet Riot Metal Health
Racer X Street Lethal
Rage End of All Days
Rage The Missing Link
Rage Carved in Stone
Rage Strings to a Web
Rage Reflections Of A Shadow
Rage Trapped!
Rage Αfterlifelines
The material here is definitely a big step up from their past few releases, but that 86 minute run-time is PUSHING it. Thankfully, most of the songs are short, punchy, and to the point; there just needed to be fewer of them.
Rainbow Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow
Rainbow Stranger In Us All
Even with rock's most generic frontman Doogie White at the mic, Blackmore still managed to cobble together a solid sendoff to his legendary side project.
Rainbow Bent Out Of Shape
Rainbow Straight Between The Eyes
Rainbow Difficult To Cure
Rammstein Sehnsucht
Rammstein Liebe Ist Für Alle Da
Rammstein Zeit
I love the fact that this band has the capability to release beautifully constructed, emotional tracks like Zeit, then turn around and stick a song with an immature title like "Fat Tits" on the same album. Absolutely glorious.
Ramones Brain Drain
Ratt Dancing Undercover
Raven Nothing Exceeds Like Excess
Raven One For All

Riot Rock City

Riot Restless Breed
Riot Born In America
Riot Army Of One
Rob Zombie Hellbilly Deluxe
Rob Zombie The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy
Rob Zombie makes retarded music. But it's the best kind of retarded. Definitely a fun listen for anyone who wants their daily dose of weirdness.
Rocka Rollas Metal Strikes Back
Rocka Rollas Pagan Ritual
Rough Silk Circle Of Pain
One of the strangest albums I've heard in a very long time. I like it, but dear God it's weird.
Royal Hunt Collision Course: Paradox II
Royal Hunt Land Of Broken Hearts
Royal Hunt Fear
Royal Hunt A Life to Die For

Sacred Reich The American Way
Sacred Reich Awakening
Sacrifice Volume Six
Saint Deamon League of the Serpent

Satan Earth Infernal
Honestly, this was an improvement for me. This one feels just a tad more inspired than the previous release.
Savage Messiah Demons
Savatage The Wake of Magellan
Savatage Handful of Rain
Savatage Power of the Night
Saxon Solid Ball Of Rock

Saxon Forever Free
Saxon Killing Ground
Saxon Call To Arms

So much better than their previous album.
Sex Machineguns Jigoku no Bousou Ressha
Shaman Rescue
Not too shabby. I dig the AOR influenced moments on here.
Signum Regis Undivided
Silent Force The Empire of Future
Silent Knight (AUS) Full Force
Silver Bullet (FIN) Mooncult
Silver Bullet (FIN) Shadowfall
Sinner One Bullet Left
Sinner Dangerous Charm
Hey, this is actually an improvement! Concrete Jungle kinda slaps.
Sinner No More Alibis
Sinner The End Of Sanctuary
Sinner Santa Muerte
Sinner Brotherhood
I don't know why I'm rating this so high. It's one of the most generic things I've heard all year, but it's an enjoyably inviting type of generic. It's like that one story your grandpa told you 100 times but it doesn't bother you because it's a good story.r
SkeleToon 1.21 Gigawatts Club
Dumb fun, but fun regardless. Way fucking better than The Goonies album they did a few years back.
Skid Row The Gang's All Here
What the fuck, I actually liked this? Guess miracles do happen.
Skull Fist Way of the Road
Much better after I revisited it. It still doesn't stack up to the first two records, and I miss the reverb, but the guitar work is killer and it is the perfect length. Give it another shot if the first listen didn't do it for you.
Skull Fist Paid in Full
Slade Old New Borrowed and Blue
Slade Slade in Flame
Slade Return to Base...
Slade You Boyz Make Big Noize
Slaughter (USA) Stick It to Ya
Slayer Hell Awaits
Sodom In War And Pieces
Sodom Decision Day
Definitely lacks the band's usual energy, but I really like it regardless.

Flag in the Ground is an amazing song.

Spellcaster Under The Spell
Starbomb Starbomb
Starbomb Starbomb Boom: Rise of Lyrics
Starship Love Among the Cannibals
Steelballs The Neverending Fire
StormHunter Best Before: Death
Stormwarrior Norsemen
The boys from Stormwarrior pull through just before the end of the year with a real doozy. The botched production job holds it back a little, but it has so much cheesy goodness I can't help but love it.
Strangeways Native Sons
Stratovarius Fourth Dimension
Stratovarius Dreamspace
Stratovarius Elements Pt.1
Stratovarius Eternal

Stryper Against The Law

takeittothecrosstakeittothecrosstakeittothecrooooossss
Stryper Even The Devil Believes
Their weakest release since Murder by Pride, but still another solid holy offering. Great album title too
Stryper When We Were Kings
Michael Sweet is a totally workhorse. It's comforting knowing we're gonna get another solid Stryper album every few years.

Tad Morose Modus Vivendi
Tankard Chemical Invasion
Tankard The Meaning of Life
Tankard Two Faced
Tankard A Girl Called Cerveza
After the last 3 albums, I was worried these guys were destined to make painfully forgettable yet competent thrash records for the rest of their career. Thankfully, this record seems like they actually started giving a shit again.
Tankard Pavlov's Dawgs
Tarot Crows Fly Black
Temperance (IT) Diamanti
Never listened to these guys before; not too shabby.
Terra Atlantica Oceans
Goofy fun with a decent amount of melody and a HEAVY dose of cheese.
Tesla Into The Now
Testament Practice What You Preach
Testament Low
The general consensus is that The Ritual was the band selling out, and Low is a return to form, but I feel it's the other way around. If anything this album deliberately sounds like Pantera worship, while The Ritual has it's own unique brand of heavy metal. With that being said, Low is still immensely better than anything Pantera released post-CFH.

The Rolling Stones Aftermath
The Rolling Stones Out of Our Heads
The Rolling Stones December's Children (And Everybody's)
The Rolling Stones Blue and Lonesome
The Weeknd Dawn FM
I actually love The Weeknd, but I was kinda dreading listening to this. I was worried the oversaturation of 80's nostalgia the we've been subjected to for the past 5 years would ruin this album, but I was pleasantly surprised. The style on this record feels less like a gimmick and more like a genuine attempt at updating that late 70's early 80's disco/R&B sound. I also think the fact that I don't have to call in sick for work to finish the entire album in one sitting really helped with that. I can't stress how refreshing it is for a mainstream artist to release an album without 100 songs and 25 bonus tracks.
Theocracy Theocracy
My brothers in Christ, I do declare this is a good album.
Theocracy As the World Bleeds
Theocracy Mosaic
Therion Leviathan
Thin Lizzy Johnny The Fox
Thin Lizzy Vagabonds of the Western World
Thin Lizzy Renegade
Thornbridge Daydream Illusion
TNT Knights of the New Thunder
TNT Realized Fantasies
Tokyo Motor Fist Lions
I simultaneously love and hate this. The cheesiest non-power metal I've heard in a long time, but I can't say I didn't enjoy it.
Toto Toto IV
Toto Falling In Between
Toto Hydra
Toto Fahrenheit
Tragedian Master of Illusions
if you asked me why i enjoyed this album so much, i don't think I would be able to give you an answer.
Trick or Treat The Legend of the XII Saints
Trick or Treat Creepy Symphonies
Trick or Treat Ghosted
The musical embodiment of a 3rd grader's class Halloween party.
Triumph Rock And Roll Machine
Triumph Surveillance
Triumpher Storming The Walls
Really solid. My main critique would be the lack of memorable hooks, but what we are given is still more than satisfactory. Excited to hear what these guys cook up in the years to come.
Trivium In Waves
Trivium Silence in the Snow
Trivium The Sin and the Sentence
Turbo Strażnik Światła
Turbo Piąty żywioł
A really weak midsection holds this back from being something truly excellent. I recommend it, just be prepared to hit skip a couple times.
Turbo Epidemic
Turbo Awatar
Turilli / Lione Rhapsody Zero Gravity (Rebirth and Evolution)
Twisted Sister Come Out And Play

U.D.O. Mean Machine
U.D.O. Dominator

U.D.O. We Are One
U2 The Joshua Tree
I have a feeling that it's all downhill from here.
U2 All That You Can't Leave Behind
Not sure if I'm just in a good mood, but I actually really enjoyed this.
U2 War
UFO Obsession
UFO Making Contact
UFO Mechanix
UFO Misdemeanor
God I love sellout records.
UFO Covenant
UFO Seven Deadly
Unleash The Archers Phantoma
Unlucky Morpheus Gate of Heaven
Unto Others Strength
Not gonna lie, this was pretty nice.
Uriah Heep Salisbury
Everything after the first 2 tracks is great, but I definitely wouldn't consider this a
masterpiece by any stretch of the word.
Bird of Prey may also have the worst vocal melody I've ever heard in my entire fucking
life. |
Uriah Heep Innocent Victim
Uriah Heep Conquest
Uriah Heep Head First
Uriah Heep Different World
Huge step in the right direction. The fact this album has the same records as the two
proceeding it is, quite frankly, kind of insulting. |
Uriah Heep Outsider
Van Halen II
Van Halen OU812
Van Halen Women And Children First
Vanden Plas The Empyrean Equation of the Long Lost Things
Vansidian Reflecting the Shadows
Venator Echoes from the Gutter
Veni Domine Fall Babylon Fall
Venom Calm Before the Storm
This is a really solid metal record, not sure why it gets so much flack. Black Christmas and the title track are among Venom's greatest songs.
Venom Cast in Stone
Venom Temples of Ice
Venom From the Very Depths
Vicious Rumors Vicious Rumors
Vicious Rumors Warball
Vicious Rumors Word Of Mouth
Vicious Rumors Razorback Killers
Vicious Rumors The Devil's Asylum
Their strongest release in almost two decades.
Vigilhunter Vigilhunter
Some old school shit right here. Pure 1986 Iroc metal.
Virgin Steele Noble Savage
Virgin Steele The Passion Of Dionysus
Surprisingly decent, their best in a very long time. Unfortunately I can't really recommend it thanks to the production sounding like unmastered demos.
Visigoth The Revenant King
Voivod Angel Rat
Voivod Voivod
Volbeat Rewind, Replay, Rebound
While I do wish they would go back to some heavier material, this album is nothing to scoff at. I can safely say I thoroughly enjoyed every song on this record. A pleasant surprise to say the least.
Volbeat Servant of the Mind
You keep doin' you, Volbeat.
Volbeat God of Angels Trust
Fun little record. Glad to see them injecting more aggression back into their sound.

White Wizzard Over The Top
White Wizzard The Devil's Cut
Whitesnake Ready An' Willing
Whitesnake Good To Be Bad
Whitesnake Restless Heart
Whitesnake Flesh And Blood
Whitesnake has never been one of my favorite groups, but they have always put out really solid music, and this is no exception. Surprisingly good hard rock/ heavy metal record.
Winger Winger
Winger In The Heart Of The Young
Witherfall Sounds of the Forgotten
Wolf Ravenous
Wolf Legions Of Bastards
Wolf Feeding The Machine
It's pretty damn good, but by Wolf standards some of this is pretty forgettable. That being
said, the title track is a fucking titan of a song. |

Aerosmith Just Push Play
Come on, it's not that bad.
Aerosmith Draw The Line
Aerosmith Rock In A Hard Place
fuck you, i like this
Aerosmith Done With Mirrors
Alcatrazz V
I'll be honest, I'm probably not gonna listen to this. Graham Bonnet is an amazing vocalist,
and the main reason I listened to Alcatrazz in the first place. The fact he was replaced by
the undisputed king of generic metal vocals, Doogie White is a fuckin' sin.
*update*
I hate saying this, but this is actually kinda decent. Sounds more like classic Rainbow than
Alcatrazz though. |

Alice in Chains Alice In Chains
Alien Shiftin' Gear
Alien Alien (1993)
Allen Lande The Showdown
Amalgama (RU) Mastermind
Amaranthe The Catalyst
I'm honestly surprised I didn't hate this.
Ambush (SWE) Evil in All Dimensions
Ambush's winning streak has sadly come to an end. Its a serviceable album with some fantastic solos, but the songwriting just isn't up to the band's usual standards.
Amon Amarth Fate of Norns
Amon Amarth Once Sent from the Golden Hall
Amon Amarth The Great Heathen Army
Starts off pretty weak and slowly gets better as it goes along. Far from amazing, but definitely better than their previous release.
Amorphis The Karelian Isthmus
Anette Olzon Rapture
Angel Sword Rebels Beyond The Pale
Angel Witch Angel of Light
Angra Fireworks
Angra Holy Land
Angra Ømni
Angra Cycles Of Pain
By no means bad, but they leaned WAAAAAAAAAYYY too hard into the prog elements this time around. I recognize it's a quality album, it just isn't doing much for me.
Anguish Project What's Believing?
The vocalist sounds like Bruce Dickinson on Fear of the Dark. Just Fear of the Dark. Very specific.
Annihilator Waking the Fury
Annihilator Ballistic, Sadistic
It's comforting to know that I can always look forward to listening to practically the same decent thrash album with dorky vocals every other year. Never stop doing what you do, Jeff.

I'm glad they sound like they enjoy being alive again, but it feels more like a compilation than a proper studio album.
Bad Religion Recipe for Hate
Bad Religion The Process of Belief
I guess this is supposed to be a comeback album for these guys. The material is slightly stronger than their previous 3 releases, but still doesn't leave much of an impact.
Bad Religion The Gray Race
Bad Religion New Maps of Hell
Bad Religion True North
Bathory Hammerheart
Yeah, this really didn't do anything for me. The followup is far superior in my eyes.
Bathory Destroyer of Worlds
Hey, this isn't half bad. Lake of Fire and Death from above are some hard jams.
Battle Beast No More Hollywood Endings
Kinda blows it's load in the first 3 songs, and doesn't pick back up until The Golden Horde. The highlights are great, but the lows are deeper than the Mariana Trench.
Battle Beast Steelbound
Be'lakor Stone's Reach
Believer Gabriel
Black Sabbath Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Black Sabbath Never Say Die!
This is just a solid hard rock record. Compared to early Sabbath it's not impressive, but on it's own merits its really enjoyable.
Black Sabbath Seventh Star
I love how every incarnation of Sabbath sounds unique and distinct from one another. I'd be lying if I said I don't have a soft spot for this one. Second half is pretty weak, but side 1 is killer.
Black Sabbath Cross Purposes
Blackslash No Steel No Future
Blazon Rite Wild Rites And Ancient Songs
Blind Fury Out of Reach

Bruce Dickinson Balls To Picasso
Tears of a Dragon is too good for this album.
Bruce Dickinson Skunkworks
Burning Sun Wake of Ashes
Candlemass The Door to Doom
By the books doom metal, lacking variation and flavor. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either.
Cannibal Corpse Violence Unimagined
Definitely not my thing, but it didn't piss me off like the vast majority of death metal does. The lack of god-awful clicky drums and a solid production job help quite a bit.
Carcass Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious
Cathalepsy Blood And Steel
Cauldron In Ruin
Cheap Trick Next Position Please
Cheap Trick The Doctor
Lol, I like this.
Cheap Trick Woke Up With A Monster
Chevelle NIRATIAS
Wow, what a letdown. I can't be the only one who finds this album to be really boring,
right? Most of the material on here is plodding, down-paced chug fests. Competent, but
extremely uninteresting. |

David Lee Roth A Little Ain't Enough
Death Angel Act III
Death Angel The Art of Dying
Deathwish Demon Preacher
Deep Purple The House Of Blue Light
Weak follow up, but a decent album.
Deep Purple Bananas
Who the fuck thought naming the album Bananas was a good idea? Music is decent, but God that artwork and title are retarded.
Deep Purple Abandon
This doesn't hold a candle to Purpendicular. Big lack of memorable melodies, riffs or hooks. With that being said, it's still more than serviceable and has some great hidden gems.

machine and J Mascis is perpetually on the verge of sleep whilst in the vocal booth. |
Dio Lock Up The Wolves
Dio Strange Highways
Dir En Grey Phalaris
Not for me, but I don't regret giving it a listen.
Dire Straits Communiqué
Dismember Like An Ever Flowing Stream
I don't get it.
Dokken Broken Bones
Dokken Dysfunctional
Dragon Skull Chaos Fire Vengeance
beef and cheese
DragonForce Valley Of The Damned
DragonForce Inhuman Rampage
This album right here is the reason people won't give DragonForce a fair chance.
Dragonhammer Second Life
Dragonland The Power of the Nightstar
Not bad, but I'm definitely gonna forget I listened to it in a minute or two.
Dragony Viribus Unitis
Generic, but it gets the job done.
Dream Evil In The Night
Dream Evil Metal Gods
Dream Theater Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory
a 4.4 for an album with a few excellent songs and a bunch of insanely cheesy, gay shit lol come on [2]
Dream Theater When Dream And Day Unite
Dream Theater Octavarium
Dream Theater Black Clouds and Silver Linings
Dream Theater Dream Theater
Dream Theater Distance Over Time
Dream Theater A View From The Top Of The World
Lol, look at how stupid those boots look.
Durbin Screaming Steel
Okay, so apparently that dude who got 4th on American Idol a while back decided to make a trad/power metal album. It's generic as fuck, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't fun.
Dynazty Knock You Down
Dynazty Titanic Mass
Earthshaker Passion
Earthshaker Pretty Good!
apt album title
Earthshaker The Course of Life
Earthshaker 40

Enforced War Remains
Eons Enthroned At the End of Hope
Epica Aspiral
it's aight
Eternal Ascent Reclamation
Europe Europe
Evergrey Monday Morning Apocalypse
A more than serviceable jab at commerciality. Not my preferred sound from the band, but it's not bad.
Evergrey Torn
Evergrey The Storm Within
Evergrey The Atlantic
Evergrey Theories Of Emptiness
Another decent offering from Evergrey, but I do feel the formula is wearing a bit thin. I really do hope they bring back some of the aggression from the first 3 albums, because their bite is almost completely gone at this point.
Excalion Once Upon A Time
Exciter Unveiling The Wicked
Exciter Kill After Kill
This album has one of the most botched production jobs I have ever heard. The guitars are thin and weak, and I'm pretty sure the band's bassist never showed up to the studio once during the entire recording process. It's a damn shame because this honestly could have been one of their best albums.
Exciter Blood Of Tyrants
Exodus Impact Is Imminent
Exumer Hostile Defiance
Faith No More We Care a Lot
Falconer Grime vs. Grandeur
Falconer The Sceptre Of Deception
Falconer Among Beggars And Thieves
Falconer Armod
Fatal Fire Arson
Fate (DK) Scratch 'n Sniff
Fate (DK) Fate
Fate (DK) A Matter of Attitude
Fates Warning The Spectre Within
I feel like I should enjoy this more than I actually did.
Fates Warning Awaken the Guardian
Fates Warning Perfect Symmetry
Fates Warning FWX
Fifth Angel When Angels Kill
Firewind The Premonition
Firewind Between Heaven And Hell
Firewind Days of Defiance
Firewind Stand United
Flotsam and Jetsam My God
Flotsam and Jetsam When the Storm Comes Down
Flotsam and Jetsam Cuatro
Flotsam and Jetsam Drift
Flotsam and Jetsam Ugly Noise
Not sure why this one gets so much hate. Sounds fine to me.
FM (UK) Indiscreet
Freedom Call The Circle Of Life
Freedom Call Dimensions
Frozen Crown Call of the North
Frozen Land Icemelter
Galneryus One For All - All For One
Galneryus Union Gives Strength
Gama Bomb Bats
Gamma Ray To the Metal!
I don't know, this was the first album since "Powerplant" that I actually enjoyed most of. I guess the material is pretty generic, but it's the good kind of generic. It's a comfy, feel good album for me.
Gary Moore Back On The Streets
Ghost (SWE) Popestar
Ghost (SWE) Skeletá
It's growing on me.
Gorguts Considered Dead
Gorillaz Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez
A slightly better version of Humanz. Not sure why this one gets so much love, pretty devoid of anything memorable.
Gorillaz Cracker Island
A clear focus and sonic direction puts this above Song Machine by a considerable amount, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. As usual, the album has too many features, most of which are not crucial and add almost nothing to the tracks themselves. Skinny Ape is a fun track though.
Grand Magus Wolf God
Grave Digger Heart Of Darkness
The strongest 3 I can give, but I just can't bring myself to give it a 3.5...
Grave Digger Liberty or Death
Grave Digger Ballads of a Hangman
Grave Digger Clash of the Gods
Grave Digger The Living Dead
Grave Digger Fields of Blood
Great Master Montecristo
Green Jelly Cereal Killer Soundtrack
Hallas Isle of Wisdom
I like their sound, but this got a little too proggy for me. I'd probably give it a stronger rating if the songwriting was a little less self-indulgent.
Hammer King Kingdemonium
Not bad, but suffers from a bit of an identity crisis. I don't think the album leans far enough into the goofy cheese the title would have you assume.
Hammer King König und Kaiser
Wanted to give this a 3.5, but this album features one of the most blatantly obvious instances of plagiarism I've ever heard. The song 'War Hammer' is a note for note copy of 'Midnight Sun' by Helloween.
HammerFall Renegade
HammerFall Threshold
HammerFall (r)Evolution
HammerFall Built To Last
HammerFall Dominion
I should probably give 'Dominion' a lower rating, but I had a fun time listening to it.
HammerFall Avenge The Fallen
Hammers Of Misfortune Overtaker
This is fucking weird.
Haunt (USA-CA) Burst into Flame
Haunt (USA-CA) Windows Of Your Heart
Haunt (USA-CA) Dreamers
Haunter (BR) Tales of the Seven Seas
Havok New Eyes
Solid, but nothing special. Hopefully a full-length is in the works.
Heavens Gate Planet E.
Heavens Gate Menergy
Helloween Pink Bubbles Go Ape
Helloween 7 Sinners
Helloween My God-Given Right
Helstar Glory of Chaos
Helstar The Devil's Masquerade
A pretty derivative and uninspired record that luckily manages to end with a bang. The last track elevated this out of being completely mediocre.
Hexenhaus Dejavoodoo
Definitely a far-cry from their first 3 albums, but a decent hunk of tech thrash with some interesting ideas that don't entirely pan out.
Hibria Me7amorphosis
Hirax Raging Violence
Hollow Tower
Not bad, but it feels a bit incomplete.
House of Lords Come To My Kingdom
House of Lords World Upside Down
House of Lords House Of Lords
House of Lords Saint Of The Lost Souls
House of Lords New World - New Eyes
Huey Lewis and the News Huey Lewis and the News
Huey Lewis and the News Small World
Huey Lewis and the News Soulsville
Solid covers album that tackles some classic tracks in a respectful manner, but not essential listening by any means.
Human Fortress Stronghold
Hypocrisy End of Disclosure
Hypocrisy Worship
Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
Fun. Cringe as hell, but fun.
Iced Earth Plagues Of Babylon
Immortal Battles in the North
Impellitteri Pedal To Metal
Impellitteri Wicked Maiden
Imperial Age New World
In Flames Lunar Strain
In Flames Sounds of a Playground Fading
In Flames Battles
I think this is gonna become a guilty pleasure for me.
In Vain (ESP) Back to Nowhere
Inquisition Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient
The music is awesome, but those vocals piss me the fuck off.
Insane Clown Posse Ringmaster
Insania The Great Apocalypse
This is in that grey area of being very professional and well put together, but also being incredibly forgettable.
Insomnium Since the Day It All Came Down
Iron Maiden The Number Of The Beast
Not anywhere near Maiden's best work. Filler absorbs most of the albums running time, but the 3 big tracks keep it from being a bad album.
Iron Maiden Somewhere Back In Time
Iron Savior Dark Assault
Ironflame Kingdom Torn Asunder
Jag Panzer The Scourge of the Light
Jag Panzer The Hallowed
Underwhelming. It's decent, but I expected better.
Job For A Cowboy Moon Healer
I don't get it.
Journey Trial By Fire
Journey Departure
Journey Journey
I fucking hate progressive rock, but this one didn't bug me for some reason. Actually kinda enjoyed it.
Journey Look Into The Future
Journey Raised On Radio
Journey Revelation
Judas Priest Nostradamus
Judicator The Majesty of Decay
Kalmah The Black Waltz
Kamelot Siege Perilous

Kansas Song for America
Kansas Audio-Visions
Kansas Drastic Measures
Kansas In the Spirit of Things
Kansas Somewhere to Elsewhere
Kansas The Prelude Implicit
Kat Without Looking Back
Kendrick Lamar DAMN.
King Crimson Lizard
King Crimson In the Wake of Poseidon
King Crimson Starless and Bible Black
King Diamond House Of God
King Diamond Abigail II: The Revenge
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard 12 Bar Bruise
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Oddments
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Paper Mache Dream Balloon
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Gumboot Soup
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Butterfly 3000
Yeah, this isn't doing much for me. I can definitely say I'm not the target demographic the frilly, fluffy material this album contains. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but it pales in comparison to their last 3 records. I'd love it if they'd get heavier again.
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava
Solid King Gizzard release, but a far cry from their previous release. Not a single surprise to be found.
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Changes
King Kobra Ready to Strike
Kingdom Come Hands Of Time
Kingdom Come Master Seven
KISS Animalize
KISS Monster
KK's Priest The Sinner Rides Again
Slight improvement over the debut, but still nothing to write home about. KK needs to revisit some of those classic Priest records and attempt to replicate that magic formula, because the songwriting present here really lacks it's own identity.
KMFDM Hyena
what that dog doin
Korn Requiem
I preferred The Nothing, but this is still decent.
Kreator Enemy of God
Kreator Extreme Aggression
Extremely aggressive, and extremely overrated.
Kreator Endless Pain
Kreator Outcast
Krokus Change Of Address
Krokus Round 13
Laaz Rockit City's Gonna Burn
Led Zeppelin Coda
Led Zeppelin Presence
Lil Pump Lil Pump
Linkin Park Hybrid Theory
Lordi Killection
Fun concept and decent variation from track to track. Nothing super memorable, but there's
fun to be had. |
Lords of Black Mechanics Of Predacity
Loudness King Of Pain
Loudness The Everlasting
Loudness Metal Mad
Loudness The Birthday Eve
Loudness Devil Soldier
Loudness 2・0・1・2
Lunar Shadow Wish To Leave
Magnum Kingdom Of Madness
Magnum Sleepwalking
Majesty (DE) Back To Attack
Majustice Ancestral Recall
Manilla Road Out of the Abyss
Manilla Road Spiral Castle
Manilla Road Mark of the Beast
Really solid psychedelic rock, it's just a shame I don't really enjoy that genre. With that being said, this is much better than the album they released in its place.
Manilla Road Voyager
Manilla Road Playground of the Damned
Manowar Gods Of War
Master Sword Toying with Time
Some of the material does feel a tad self-indulgent, but tracks like Dance of the Demon help make it an above average pm experience.
Masterplan Time To Be King
Mastodon Remission
Mastodon Hushed and Grim
Nowhere near as good as I remember it being. Comparing this to the rest of their discography, this just doesn't stack up for me. Mastodon really lost their bite on this one.
Mayhem Deathcrush
Mayhem Ordo ad Chao
Mayhem Esoteric Warfare
Meat Loaf Blind Before I Stop
Uhhh, it's not amazing, but it isn't even close to awful. There are some solid jams on here.
Meat Loaf Couldn't Have Said It Better
Megadeth United Abominations
Mekong Delta Mekong Delta
Too eclectic for my taste, but I understand the appeal. When it comes to thrash, I usually prefer a more straightforward approach.
Mekong Delta Tales of a Future Past
Mercyful Fate Into The Unknown
Merging Flare Revolt Regime
Metal Church Masterpeace
Metal Church The Weight Of The World
Metal Church This Present Wasteland
Metal Inquisitor Panopticon
Pretty fun retro metal throwback record, nothing special, but it didn't need to be.
Michael Jackson Invincible
Michael Schenker Group Immortal
Midnight Sweet Death and Ecstasy
Midnight Rebirth by Blasphemy
Mob Rules Rise Of The Ruler
Molly Hatchet Molly Hatchet
Molly Hatchet Beatin' The Odds
beatin' the dick
Morbid Angel Blessed Are the Sick
Ehhhh, as a non-fan of death metal this is just alright for me. Altars of Madness was a moody, atmospheric masterpiece; while this is just feels like your typical 90's DM album. Not to say it's bad, it just isn't for me.
Morbid Angel Covenant
Motley Crue New Tattoo
Motley Crue Girls, Girls, Girls
Motorhead Overnight Sensation
Motorhead Motörizer
Motorhead The Wörld Is Yours
Muse Will of the People
Lol, I enjoyed it.

Narnia From Darkness To Light
Nervosa Perpetual Chaos
Nevermore Dreaming Neon Black
Man, I just don't get this band....
Nevermore Dead Heart in a Dead World
Nevermore This Godless Endeavor
Night Ranger Man In Motion
Night Ranger Hole In The Sun
Wasn't expecting Night Ranger to get heavy. I approve.
Nightmare (FRA) Encrypted
Nightwish Angels Fall First
Nightwish Imaginaerum
Nightwish Endless Forms Most Beautiful
Ninja Sex Party Cool Patrol
Nitro O.F.R.
The best kind of retarded. This is grade-A try-hard schlock and I'm totally okay with that.
On Atlas' Shoulders Aion
Despite this being fairly enjoyable, I couldn't help but feel there's something missing here.
Onmyo-Za Ryuuou Douji
Opeth Orchid
Opeth Deliverance
Opeth Watershed
Outworld (UY) Way of the Samurai
Overkill Killbox 13
Overkill Under the Influence
Overkill I Hear Black
Overkill The Killing Kind
Overkill Immortalis
Overkill Coverkill
Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis
Ozzy Osbourne Ordinary Man
Ozzy Osbourne Patient Number 9
While I don't think it's anything amazing, it does warm my heart to see veteran artists like Ozzy get their creative inspiration back so late in their careers.
Paladine Entering the Abyss
Pantera The Great Southern Trendkill
I don't mind this one too much. It's certainly their heaviest release, which fits the edgelord persona they attempted to create for themselves over the past couple records.
Pantera I Am the Night
Come On Eyes is a fuckin' bop.
Pantera Projects in the Jungle
A perfectly acceptable 80's metal record with the misfortune of having the Pantera name slapped on the cover.
Paragon Controlled Demolition
Pariah (UK1) Unity
Pentagram Day Of Reckoning
Pentagram Curious Volume
Pentakill Smite and Ignite
Percival (ARG) The Seventh Seal
Petra Back To The Street
Petra No Doubt
Petra Petra Praise: The Rock Cries Out
Pink Floyd The Division Bell
Pink Floyd The Final Cut
Pirate Hymn Explorer
Polaris The Death of Me
I have a strong distaste for metalcore and it's "woe is me" attitude, but this was alright. I didn't cringe once while listening to it, so I'd say that's an accomplishment.
Poppy Negative Spaces
Power Quest Master Of Illusion
Powerwolf Blessed and Possessed
Praying Mantis The Journey Goes on
Pretty Maids Scream

Primus The Desaturating Seven
Project Arcadia Of Sins and Other Tales

Queen Made in Heaven
Queen Hot Space
I was expecting MUCH worse.
Queensryche Empire
Queensryche Queensryche
Quiet Riot Quiet Riot III
Rage Reign of Fear
Rage Speak of the Dead
Rage Execution Guaranteed
Rage Welcome To The Other Side
Rage The Devil Strikes Again
Rage Wings of Rage
If you're in the mood for some metal, this will do. Variety isn't the album's strong suit however. You could turn it off after the song Wings of Rage and not miss a single thing.
Rage Resurrection Day
Rage A New World Rising
AI cover art pisses me off, but the material is alright. Some highlights, but nothing you need to seek out.
Rammstein Reise, Reise
Rammstein Rosenrot
Ramones Adios Amigos!
Ramones Mondo Bizarro
Ramones Subterranean Jungle
Ramones Animal Boy

Raven Architect of Fear
Raven All Hell's Breaking Loose
Razor Open Hostility
Return Fourplay
Return V
Rexoria Imperial Dawn
Rhapsody of Fire Rain Of A Thousand Flames
Rhapsody of Fire The Eighth Mountain
An overproduced, over-polished power metal album severely lacking in the power department. One of my biggest gripes in how new vocalist Giacomo Voli sounds like he's going to break down and cry for the entire record. It has one hell of a closing track though.r*update*rMuch better than I remember it being, but it still isn't anything spectacular.
Rhapsody of Fire Challenge The Wind
Another okay offering from Rhapsody of Fire. While the material is solid, it's sorely lacking Rhapsody's trademark sound. Any power metal band could have released this and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
Riot The Brethren Of The Long House
Riot Inishmore
Rob Zombie Educated Horses
Rob Zombie The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy...
Rough Silk Symphony of Life
The first Rough Silk album where the band doesn't really sound inspired. Not their worst, but just not all that memorable. The Jon Oliva feature on Lucifer was pleasant surprise though.
Royal Hunt X
Royal Hunt Paper Blood
Royal Hunt Devil's Dozen
Royal Hunt Dystopia
Royal Hunt Dystopia, Pt. 2
Running Wild The Brotherhood
Running Wild Rogues En Vogue
I don't know guys, this is kinda decent.
Rush Fly By Night
Rush Hold Your Fire
Rush Counterparts
Rush Test For Echo
Sabaton Attero Dominatus
Sabaton The War To End All Wars
A far cry from their excellent previous album, but it's still really enjoyable. Sabaton always manages to put a smile on my face.
Sabaton Legends
A noted improvement over the previous record. Definitely not gonna change any minds, but I enjoyed it.
Sacred Reich Independent
Sacred Reich Heal
Sacrifice Torment In Fire
Sacrifice Apocalypse Inside
Saltatio Mortis Finsterwacht
Do not listen to this if you hate bagpipes
Sanctuary The Year The Sun Died
Savage Master Those Who Hunt At Night
Savatage Fight for the Rock
This album really isn't as bad as most people portray it to be. It definitely doesn't hold a candle to the rest of their discography, but its perfectly acceptable on its own merits.
Savatage Sirens
Saxon Into The Labyrinth
Into the Labyrinth is the first and only Saxon album from the 2000's that I would consider just okay. I rarely ever hark on a record for being "over-produced", but this album is definitely missing the bite of their previous 5 releases..
Saxon Carpe Diem
Definitely a disappointment for me. I LOVED Thunderbolt, but the material on here just isn't all that memorable. Very mild recommendation.
Scanner The Cosmic Race
There are some really good songs on here, but I'm actually shocked by how slopping the drumming is. This is like post-2010 Niko McBrain levels of sloppy. If that issue had been fixed, this would be be something special.
Scarefield A Quiete Country
Scorpions Face The Heat
Scorpions Fly To The Rainbow
Scorpions Return To Forever
Screamer (SWE) Kingmaker
Sculforge Cosmic Crusade Chronicles...
Seax Fallout Rituals

Seiko Matsuda Utopia
Seiko Matsuda Windy Shadow
Seiko Matsuda Precious Moment
Seiko Matsuda 1992 Nouvelle Vague
Sepultura Dante XXI
Sepultura Against
Underrated for sure. The boys sound tight as ever, and Derek Green's vocals are a big step up from Cavalera's. Nothing mind-blowing to be found here, but still one of the few groove metal albums I don't immediately want to shut off.
Sepultura A-Lex
Serious Black Vengeance Is Mine
Seven Spires A Fortress Called Home
Seventh Avenue Tales of Tales
I feel like I should have enjoyed this more than I did.
Seventh Wonder Tiara
ShadowStrike Traveler's Tales
Not amazing, but these guys do show promise. I think they'll be releasing some bangers down the line.
Silver Talon Decadence And Decay
I can tell these guys have potential, but I don't think they knocked it out of the park with their debut. My major gripe is that this album doesn't feature a single catchy hook or memorable melody. It's good, but it could have been much better.
Silverlane Inside Internal Infinity
Sinner Wild 'N' Evil
Sinner Danger Zone
Sinner Touch Of Sin
Sinner Comin' Out Fighting
I don't think this band will ever release a record that goes above or below a 3. They are perpetually "just okay".
Sinner Bottom Line
Sinner Judgement Day
Sinner There Will Be Execution
Sirius (GR) A Quest For Life
Skull & Crossbones Sungazer
Slade Nobody's Fools
Slayer Undisputed Attitude
Slayer World Painted Blood
Only worthwhile record the band released after Seasons in the Abyss
Slipknot The End, So Far
Nowhere near as good as the last album, but far from horrible.
Sodom Masquerade In Blood
Nothing special, but it did tear me a new asshole.
Sodom Obsessed By Cruelty
Solid, if not a a bit unremarkable. It's decent, but a tad too disjointed and eclectic for my taste.
Sodom Get What You Deserve
Sodom Epitome Of Torture
Probably Sodom's most melodic offering. I understand why people dislike this one, but I think it's pretty decent.
Sonata Arctica Unia
Sonata Arctica Stones Grow Her Name
Spellcaster Night Hides The World
Spirit Adrift Divided by Darkness
Star One Revel in Time
Starship Knee Deep In The Hoopla
The hatred this album receives is some of the most overblown shit I've ever seen. It's a pleasant 80's pop rock record with a couple legit bangers.
Starship No Protection
Stormwarrior Thunder And Steele
Stratovarius Twilight Time
Stratovarius Fright Night
Stratovarius Polaris
Stryper Murder By Pride
Styx Kilroy Was Here

don't understand how this is racist. Smok must be scared of snakes or somethin'
Styx Man Of Miracles
Styx Equinox
Styx Cornerstone
Styx Edge Of The Century
This is a perfectly acceptable pop rock record in the vein of acts like Toto.
Styx The Mission
Sunstorm Sunstorm
Sunstorm The Road To Hell
Survivor Survivor
Survivor Premonition
Sword ΙΙΙ
Symphony X Twilight in Olympus
Symphony X The Damnation Game

Tad Morose Sender Of Thoughts
Tad Morose A Mended Rhyme
Tankard The Beauty and the Beer
Tankard B-Day
Tarot For The Glory Of Nothing
Teramaze Flight Of The Wounded
Teramaze Eli: A Wonderful Fall From Grace
Terra Atlantica Beyond the Borders
Serviceable pirate metal with a few highlights, and a few parts that made me cringe.
Tesla Forever More
Tesla Simplicity
Testament Souls of Black
Testament Dark Roots of Earth
Much better than remember this being, but I'm still not crazy about it. The first half is great, but that second half is a longwinded bore.
The Beatles A Hard Day's Night
The Beatles Let It Be
The Beatles Beatles for Sale
The Black Dahlia Murder Miasma
The Black Dahlia Murder Deflorate
The Cars Panorama
The Cars Candy-O
The Damned Things High Crimes
The Darkness Easter Is Cancelled
Woof, I don't think it's nearly as bad as people are saying. It's not great, but it has it's charm.
The Ferrymen Iron Will
The Night Flight Orchestra Give Us The Moon
Definitely not their strongest release. While this album definitely carries that familiar NFO vibe, it is seriously lacking in memorable moments. With that being said, it is still a pleasant listen, just could have benefited from a few surprises here and there.
The Rods Let Them Eat Metal
The Rods Rattle The Cage
The Rolling Stones Black and Blue
The Rolling Stones Bridges to Babylon
The Rolling Stones Their Satanic Majesties Request
The Rolling Stones Voodoo Lounge

Therion Leviathan II
Thin Lizzy Nightlife
Thin Lizzy Thin Lizzy
Thorium (BE) Extraordinary Journeys Pt. I
Tiktaalika Gods of Pangaea
I feel like I should have enjoyed this more than I did.
Tool Undertow
It's okay for Tool ig.
Tool 10,000 Days
This one is fine ig.
Toto Turn Back
Toto Mindfields
This album falls to an issue a lot of bands were dealing with in the mid to late 90s. CD's made it possible to fit more content onto a disc, so bands just started cramming way too much fucking music into their LPs. Some good stuff on here, but God its way too fucking long.
Toxic Holocaust Primal Future: 2019
Triton Project Messenger's Quest
I commend the effort, but the second half of the album got way too self-indulgent for my liking. Having two 20+ minute songs on one album is crazy; and putting them back-to-back is even crazier.
Triumph The Sport Of Kings
Trivium Ember to Inferno
Tungsten (SWE) Bliss
I'm pretty mixed on this one. While I can appreciate they have a unique sound, I feel like they stylistically leaned a bit to much into modern metal trends.
Turbo Dead End
Twisted Sister Love Is For Suckers
Tygers Of Pan Tang Crazy Nights
Tygers Of Pan Tang Animal Instinct

U2 How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
U2 Zooropa

Uriah Heep Return to Fantasy

Uriah Heep Sonic Origami
Uriah Heep Into the Wild
Uriah Heep Chaos & Colour
Van Halen A Different Kind Of Truth
I remember absolutely hating this album back in the day, but on my latest relisten I actually kinda dig it. DLR sounds kinda rough, but there are some quality tunes on here, especially on the second half with tracks like Outta Space and Stay Frosty.
Venom Resurrection
Venom The Waste Lands

Vicious Rumors Electric Punishment
Vicious Rumors Concussion Protocol
Virgin Steele Guardians Of The Flame
Virgin Steele Life Among The Ruins
It's a decent cock-rock/metal record with a few fun tracks. My biggest issue comes from the dogshit track order. Who's decision was it to make the last FOUR tracks consecutive ballads?
Virgin Steele The Black Light Bacchanalia
Void (USA-LA) Forbidden Morals
Fine while it's on, but doesn't leave much of any impact. Really cool artwork, though.

Whitesnake Trouble
Pretty unremarkable, but it does have some standouts like 'Nighthawk' and 'The Time is Right For Love'. if you are in the mood for a solid collection of memorable riffs, this will do the trick.

Babymetal minus the fun and creativity. Genuinely dissappointed.
Bad Religion The New America
Bad Religion How Could Hell Be Any Worse?
Bad Religion The Dissent of Man
Bad Religion Age of Unreason
Not as bad as I remember it being, but it still isn't anything worth listening to
Balhell The Way of Our Life
I appreciate the enthusiasm, but the songwriting just isn't there.
Bathory Octagon
The fuck is wrong with me?
Beyonce Lemonade
Wouldn't have listened to this on my own volition, but I had to for film class. It's not bad, but there are some seriously cringeworthy lyrics on here that really conflict with the serious tone it's going for. I knew this wasn't gonna be up my alley, but I'm surprised by just how much I didn't like it.
Black Label Society Grimmest Hits
Black Majesty Oceans Of Black
Black Sabbath Technical Ecstasy
I rarely ever chastise a band for softening their sound as long as the music they write is good. The music here isn't BAD, it's just insanely forgettable.
Black Sabbath Forbidden
Probably the most overhated metal album of all time. It's nothing special, but it's more than competent.
Blind Guardian Legacy Of The Dark Lands
I kept waiting for something to blow me away, but it never happened. There isn't anything bad on here, but there isn't anything noteworthy either. It really does feel like a collection of tracks meant to be squeezed in between normal Blind Guardian songs.

Deep Purple Rapture Of The Deep
Slightly better than the MKI albums, but not by much. This record sounds stale as fuck.
Deep Purple The Battle Rages On...
It's pretty evident nobody in Deep Purple had any ideas for this album.
Deep Purple The Book Of Taliesyn
Slightly better than the debut, but not by a noticeable amount. Passable, but not worth your time.
Deep Purple Deep Purple
Not sure why people hate the first 2 but magically enjoy this one. Sounds the exact same as their first 2 records to me. Thank God this is the last MKI album, and thank God MKII is superior in every single way.
Deep Purple Shades Of Deep Purple
Generic, bland, flavorless psychedelic rock with one really good song. This really does nothing for me.
Def Leppard Def Leppard
Deftones Ohms
If this is what Deftones music is like, I don't think I like Deftones all that much.

Evile The Unknown
Exciter The Dark Command
If you're dying for painfully generic thrash, The Dark Command is just what the doctor ordered.
Exhorder Slaughter in the Vatican
Exhorder Defectum Omnium
Entirely unremarkable for the most part, but the last handful of tracks are enjoyable.
Exodus Shovel Headed Kill Machine
Great production, great performances, mediocre songwriting.
Exodus Exhibit B: The Human Condition
Eynomia Sea of Tears
Fathomless Skywalker Anthems of the Resilient
Some solid musicianship and songwriting, but I genuinely cannot stand this style of female vox. Like for the love of God, hold a fucking note for longer than a nanosecond and knock the vibrato shit off.
Fear Factory Aggression Continuum
I don't think I like Fear Factory.
Feuerschwanz Warriors
I usually have a soft spot for this brand of over-the-top, anthemic power metal, but this one just didn't hit for me.
Firewind Burning Earth
Firewind Few Against Many
this is the most "okay" power metal band to ever exist
Flotsam and Jetsam High
Freedom Call Legend Of The Shadowking
Gamma Ray Land of the Free II
Only one memorable track, and it is ruined by Kai's 13 year old reddit athiest lyrics.
It's fine I guess, but definitely their worst album in my opinion |
Gary Moore G-Force
Gene Simmons Gene Simmons
Ghost (SWE) Impera
Side one is impeccable, and has easily some of the bands strongest tracks to date. Side 2 however, is pretty much irredeemable and features undoubtably the worst handful of songs the band has ever recorded. "Darkness At the Heart of My Love" makes my fucking skin crawl.
Glasya Attarghan
I respect the ambition, but it's severely lacking in memorable moments.
Godzilla Godzilla
One of the most enjoyable bad albums of all time. It's so fucking corny and innocent that I can't help but love it.
Gogmagog I Will Be There
Gorillaz D-Sides
Grailknights Forever
My tolerance for tongue-in-cheek retardation seems to be dwindling.
Grave Digger The Last Supper
Grave Digger Bone Collector
Massive step down in quality from the previous record. Not awful, but consistently mid. The AI cover art also makes me sad.
Halloween Horror Fire

Huey Lewis and the News Plan B

What the fuck happened? No seriously, what the FUCK happened between albums?
Impellitteri Crunch
In Flames Soundtrack to Your Escape
In Flames A Sense of Purpose
In Flames I, the Mask
Insane Clown Posse Carnival of Carnage
Insomnium Above the Weeping World
This just isn't doing it for me.
Iron Maiden No Prayer For The Dying
I hate giving anything by Maiden such a low score, but this album really bombs. Tailgunner is really the only decent track on this album. But thats about it. The rest of the album is complete filler to the worst extent.
Iron Maiden The Final Frontier
Side one is excellent and contains some late-career gems, but dear God that second half is boring. Sticking five 7+ minute tracks back to back should be punishable by law.
Iron Savior Megatropolis
Iron Savior Kill or Get Killed
Serviceable, but it's really nothing more than by the books power metal. Sick artwork though.
Jorn Over the Horizon Radar
Love Jorn, but these songs are stock as hell.
Journey Arrival
Journey Generations
Judas Priest Point Of Entry
Judas Priest Demolition
Judas Priest 5 Souls

Kalmah For the Revolution
Kamelot Dominion
Kamelot Eternity
Kansas Monolith
Kansas Vinyl Confessions
Kanye West Jesus Is King
Katagory V Awaken a New Age of Chaos
This is some inoffensive shit right here. Totally unremarkable, but okay while it's on.
Keel The Right To Rock
Speed Demon and You're the Victim slap really hard, but the rest of the material is laughably derivative in almost every way imaginable.
Kerry King From Hell I Rise
I hate Kerry King, but I can't really bring myself to hate this album. It's competent, albeit formulaic, by-the-numbers thrash. No memorable moments, riffs, or ideas, but nothing worth getting upset over. It's fine.
Killswitch Engage Atonement
King Crimson Larks' Tongues in Aspic
SooOOOO PROg!!!!!
King Crimson Islands
King Diamond The Graveyard
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Eyes Like The Sky
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Laminated Denim
Hypertension is good, but that first song is about as boring as Gizz can get.
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard The Silver Cord
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Phantom Island
I've never been a fan of KG's more relaxed and mellow outings, and this album does nothing to change my opinion. Kinda sounds like the type of shit you'd hear in a tropical resort's buffet dining room.
Kingdom Come Bad Image
Kingdom Come Twilight Cruiser
Kingdom Come Too
Kingdom of Tyrants Architects of Power
KISS Crazy Nights
KISS Unmasked
KK's Priest Sermons Of The Sinner
I love KK and Ripper, so I definitely was expecting to like this way more than I did. I
wouldn't say it's a bad record, but it is a pretty generic one. |
Krokus Painkiller
Labyrinth Welcome to the Absurd Circus
Not gonna lie, I found this album to be kind of a snoozefest. Just didn't click with me I guess.
Lacuna Coil Black Anima
It's a no from me. The heavily distorted alt metal guitars layered on top of clean angelic vocals,
paired with some totally EPIC and BRUTAL screams are just silly. I know it's their sound, but
their sound just doesn't work for me. |
Leaves' Eyes Myths Of Fate
Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin III
Liv Moon Circle of Life
Lizzy Borden Menace To Society
Loudness Pandemonium
Loudness Heavy Metal Hippies
Lycanthro Remnants of Rapture

Machine Head Of Kingdom And Crown
Lame, and not in a fun way. Some of these lyrics are downright embarrassing.
Magnum Magnum II
Manilla Road Metal
if you say so
Manilla Road The Blessed Curse
Manticora Mycelium
There isn't anything objectively wrong with this album, I just don't like it.
Marco Garau's Magic Opera Battle of Ice
Generic, derivative and inoffensive.
Masterplan Novum Initium
Mastodon Medium Rarities
Meat Loaf Midnight at the Lost and Found
Medieval Steel Gods of Steel
Mekong Delta Pictures at an Exhibition
Instrumental records do nothing for me, unless it's synthwave.
Mercyful Fate Dead Again
Metal Church Generation Nothing
Metallica Reload
Metallica Beyond Magnetic
Metallica 72 Seasons
I stan Metallica's newer material, but this album isn't cutting it. The lack of variety is what kills it for me. There just isn't enough going on sonically to warrant that ludicrous 87 minute runtime.
Midnight Let There Be Witchery
Millennial Reign World on Fire
We ain't looking at Stryper levels of Christian metal here, boys. It's not terrible by any means, it just isn't interesting at all.
Motley Crue Motley Crue
Mr. Bungle Disco Volante
A record that's eclectic for eclectic's sake. Sure, the debut was all over the place stylistically, but not once did it sound forced or pretentious. Sadly, I can't say the same about this record.
Nekrogoblikon Goblin Island
Nevermore Nevermore
Nevermore The Obsidian Conspiracy
bro, why does this site have such a boner for this band?
Night Cobra Dawn of the Serpent

Opeth Morningrise
just because you can write a 20 minute song doesn't mean you should fucking do it. It gets a 2.5 for ambition, and that's it.
Opeth Heritage
I usually hate prog rock, but this is fine I guess. At least this album has a few dynamic elements and actual riffs, unlike the ungodly tedious torture device known as 'Damnation". I'm never gonna listen to it again, but it wasn't awful while it was on.
Opeth Pale Communion
More "Heritage", which is acceptable I guess.
Opeth Sorceress
Overkill ReliXIV
Overkill Bloodletting
Ozzy Osbourne Bark At The Moon
Ozzy Osbourne Black Rain
Pantera Vulgar Display of Power
The album where Pantera dived headfirst into try-hard edgelord territory. Thankfully there is JUST enough decent riffing for me to give it a pass. The riff on Walk is fucking terrible though.
Pantera Reinventing the Steel
This would be a 2 if it wasn't for the fact that Goddamn Electric is one of the few post-Cowboys Pantera tracks I actually enjoy.
Pantera Metal Magic
I know it isn't metal of the confederate wife beating persuasion, but it's actually a pretty
listenable record in it's own right. |
Paragon Metalation
Paul Stanley Paul Stanley
Pentagram Review Your Choices
I know Bobby can sing, he did it on the album prior, and every album afterwards. He just sounds fucking weird here, and it kinda ruins the album for me.

what the fuck happened between this and Testimony?
Petra Revival
Petra Petra
Petra Come And Join Us
Petra Never Say Die
Petra Petra Praise 2
Pink Floyd Atom Heart Mother
The title track is decent, everything after it is it's own special brand of forgettable.
Pink Floyd A Saucerful Of Secrets
Much better than the debut. They managed to cram all the obnoxious ambient fiddle-fucking rto one song this time, and even that song is listenable. Not planning on listening to rthis again, but I didn't feel like the band was actively wasting my time like on 'Piper'.
Pink Floyd Obscured By Clouds
Not as good as Meddle, but heaps better than the pretentious dogshit of the first 3 records.
Pink Floyd More
I don't know what's wrong with me, but this is easily my favorite PF album so far. Probably because The Nile Song is the first Floyd tune I'd willingly listen to again.
Powerwolf Return in Bloodred
Praying Mantis Throwing Shapes (as Stratus)
It's okay
Pretty Maids Wake Up To The Real World
Prydain The Gates of Aramore

Radiohead Pablo Honey
Rage Prayers Of Steel
Rage 21
Ramones Pleasant Dreams
Ramones Acid Eaters
Ratt Ratt
This album suffers from a chronic case of "just okay".
Raven Everything Louder
Ravensire A Stone Engraved in Red
Razor Custom Killing
Rhapsody of Fire Dark Wings Of Steel
About as by-the-numbers as a power metal album could be. Insanely weak follow up to Eternity.
Rhapsody of Fire Glory For Salvation
I thought the last album was boring and lame, but this thing easily tops it. Worst Rhapsody album to date; albeit with a couple enjoyable singles.
Rigorious Kingdom Unfold
Ring Of Fire Gravity
I feel like there was a considerable amount of time and effort that went into creating this album, it's just a shame that I was kinda bored by it regardless.
Rough Silk Walls Of Never
Royal Hunt Eye Witness
Royal Hunt Cast in Stone
Running Wild Resilient

Slayer Divine Intervention
Stunning quality drop you got here, Slayer. Good on you.
Slayer Repentless
Sodom 'Til Death Do Us Unite
Definitely their worst up to this point. The last two records may have been different, but at least those records sounded like they were trying. This just sound like a band that's bored with themselves.
Sodom The Final Sign Of Evil
A commendable effort to revisit their sonic roots, but not one I'm ever gonna listen to again.
Sodom The Arsonist
A couple cool ideas here and there, but the band seems hard stuck at 60% for the majority of the album. Really sick artwork though.
Sonata Arctica The Ninth Hour
Star Eternal Atlas
Probably the most okay thing I've heard all year. The Earth is no better or worse because this exists.

Slightly below average blues rock. Skip it.
Winterage Nekyia
Bland and forgettable symphonic power metal, with a surprisingly awesome instrumental towards the tail end of the record.
Witherfall Curse Of Autumn
Yeah, this really didn't do anything for me; but that's to be expected from a prog-metal record.
Wonders Beyond the Mirage
Y&T Musically Incorrect
Not sure what they were thinking with this one. Sounds like a budget Cinderella.
Yngwie Malmsteen Unleash The Fury
Yngwie Malmsteen War To End All Wars
Yumi Matsutoya Tears and Reasons
2.0 poor
3TEETH Metawar
Absolon The Blood Seed
Accept Death Row
Udo's reunion with Accept featured one good album, one mediocre album, and one terrible album. This is the terrible one.
Accept Humanoid
God damn it.
Alice Cooper Easy Action
Alice Cooper Pretties For You
Allen/Olzon Army Of Dreamers
What a boring little album.
Amon Amarth The Crusher
With a badass title like that, I wasn't expecting this to be one of the most unremarkable
melo-death albums I've ever heard. |
Amon Amarth Berserker
Amon Amarth have never sounded so tedious. This album was a really boring listen from beginning to
end. |
Amorphis Am Universum
Annihilator All for You
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you quite possibly the safest thrash album ever recorded. It's so utterly inoffensive that it becomes annoying.
Anvil Absolutely No Alternative
Are you sure there isn't an alternative?
Anvil Plugged In Permanent
Anvil Speed Of Sound
Anvil Legal At Last
The one time I smoked weed nobody told me it was laced with some sort of hallucinogen, and
I had a hellish nightmare trip. Now every time I smell it I get PTSD. |
Attacker The God Particle
The artwork is better than the music.
Avaland The Legend of the Storyteller
So fucking boring
Axxis Voodoo Vibes
When people say that the 90's ruined metal music, this is the type of shit they're talking about. Truly an abhorrent decade.
Bad Religion No Substance
Bathory Requiem
Sure, the production is SLIGHTLY better than Octagon, but the overall songs are worse. At least the dumpster-fire production on Octagon made it memorable.
Beyond The Black Beyond the Black
This kinda sucks. Such a nothing album
Boston Life, Love & Hope
What the fuck is this? Where are the riffs? The guitar harmonies? Songs that actually rock? Literally every song is a love song and it's pissing me off.
Bow Wow (JPN) Guarantee
I'm all for a good sellout record, but this simply did not work. If this was a full blown pop-rock record it could have been great, but the band never fully commit to the sound, leaving it in a dull grey area where no genuine creativity could shine through.
Brainstorm Scary Creatures
British Lion The Burning
Wow, this was letdown. Production is thin, Steve's bass is pretty much inaudible throughout, and
every song is mindbogglingly generic. I seriously can't recommend this one. |
Carcass Reek of Putrefaction
I hate this, but it made me bust a gut laughing on numerous occasions. Absolutely fucking hilarious.
Celtic Frost Vanity/Nemesis
Not a good album by any means, but there are some bangers towards the end of the record.
Cradle of Filth Nymphetamine
Why is this 80 minutes long?
Cradle of Filth Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa
Bro, what the fuck happened to this band?
Crusade of Bards Tales of the Seven Seas
Does anyone actually like this style of power metal?
Crystallion Heads or Tails
One of the most unremarkable albums I've ever heard.
Cynic Traced in Air
What is this nonsense?
Danzig Black Laden Crown
Danzig has never sounded less inspired as he does right here. Fucking snoozefest.
Darkthrone Goatlord
I can see why this wasn't released. A few neat riffs here and there, but most of it sounds like sloppy jam sessions.
Darkthrone F.O.A.D.
Run of the mill throwback metal record with some cool riffs, but awful vocals and lyrics.
David Lee Roth Skyscraper
Deep Sun Dreamland - Behind the Shades
An album so boring you will actually visit the location mentioned in the album title.
Demon Heart of Our Time
The fuck is this shit, Demon? The Carpenters sound hardcore compared to this weaksauce.
Destruction Spiritual Genocide
First and last track are good, and that's it. About as by-the-numbers as you can get.
Destruction Birth of Malice
Thought they were taking steps in the right direction with Diabolical; seems I was dead wrong. There is absolutely nothing of value to be gained from this album.
Devin Townsend Empath
There are so many sub-par aspects of this record. There is consistently too much shit going on all
at once, and nothing ever comes together as a cohesive whole. Clocking in at a meaty 75 minutes, I
could not wait for this thing to end. |
Diamond Head What's In Your Head?
Come on guys, it's not THAT bad. I was expecting an ear raping, and what I got a was mediocre, but inoffensive hard rock album.

Five Finger Death Punch F8
Flotsam and Jetsam Dreams of Death
Flotsam and Jetsam Unnatural Selection
Forged in Black Descent of the Serpent
Pretty generic thrash, with a decent vocalist. Skip it.
Front Row Warriors Wheel of Fortune
The most nothing album I've heard all year
Ghost (SWE) If You Have Ghost
a collection of bad covers recorded in a Spirit Halloween
Ghost (SWE) Phantomime
Unremarkable, unwarranted, and utterly useless.
Gorguts Obscura
Everything on this album sounds like a mistake.
Gorillaz The Fall
The only thing on here worth listening to is Amarillo. It's inoffensive, and didn't piss me off, so I'll give it a generous 2 and not a 1.5.
Gorillaz Humanz
A Gorillaz album in name only. A hodgepodge of serviceable pop tracks with a ludicrous amount of features, and severe lack of personality that made Gorillaz so special.
Grave Digger Witch Hunter
Green Day Father of All Motherfuckers
I mean it's bad don't get me wrong, but I still enjoyed it more than the steaming pile of shit Blink-182 released last year. This is a masterpiece in comparison.
House of Lords The Power And The Myth
Hypocrisy Into the Abyss
One of the most insane quality drops I've ever encountered.
Iced Earth The Crucible Of Man
The first half of this album is so fucking boring. 2nd half is a little better, but not by a whole lot.
In Flames Siren Charms
Iron Maiden A Matter Of Life And Death
A Matter of Life and Dearth
Journey Next
Judas Priest Rocka Rolla
Kamelot Poetry for the Poisoned
Keel Keel
Pretty sure they got an 8th grader to write these lyrics.
Keldian The Bloodwater Rebellion
A power metal band tries making a U2 album. It's just as bad as you think it would be.
Kerion Cloudriders: Age of Cyborgs
They tried. It didn't work, but they tried
Kilmara Journey to the Sun
Slightly more creative than white noise, but just as boring.
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Sketches of Brunswick East (w/ Mild High Club)
"Yo, this sounds boring as fuck. Drop it."

Ozzy Osbourne Down To Earth
Pantera Far Beyond Driven
The musical embodiment of an alcoholic skinhead beating his wife in their doublewide.
Petra Washes Whiter Than
Petra God Fixation
Generic contemporary Christian radio rock. Lacks all the charm and character that make Petra so special.
Pink Floyd The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn
My Pink Floyd journey is off to a VERY rough start. I have a feeling this isn't the last
time Pink Floyd are going to waste my time with tedious avant-garde bullshit. |
Pink Floyd The Endless River
Pretty Maids Planet Panic
Primus Primus and The Chocolate Factory With The Fungi Ensemble
Protean Shield Protean Shield
I really hate shitting on new bands that nobody's heard of, but this just isn't engaging in the slightest.
Puddle of Mudd Welcome to Galvania
Queensryche Hear In The Now Frontier
Boring, inoffensive, lifeless garbage.
Queensryche Tribe
Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime II
This shouldn't fucking exist.
Quiet Riot Hollywood Cowboys
A couple decent tunes, but there is a lot of cringe worthy bullshit that needs to be sifted through.
Raven The Pack Is Back
The pack should've stayed away.
Raven Glow

Sonata Arctica Talviyö
Starbomb Player Select

Pretty fuckin' boring. Never caught my interest once through its 40 minute run time.
Suicidal Tendencies Suicidal for Life
Suicidal Tendencies Free Your Soul...And Save My Mind
Symphony X Symphony X
Tad Morose Revenant
Tad Morose St. Demonius
Tad Morose Chapter X
Testament Demonic
This album doesn't suck because it's death metal. It sucks because it's BAD death metal.
The Rods Vengeance
Tool Ænima
Waited 78 minutes for it to get good, and it never did.
Trivium Vengeance Falls
Vengeance Fails
