5.0 classic
Between the Buried and Me Future Sequence: Live at the Fidelitorium
Extremely tight performance of an already incredible album
Daughters You Won't Get What You Want
Unsettling but catchy at the same time. Really focused record and the lyrics are cool
Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory
The pinnacle of Dream Theater. 'Home' is my favourite track
Earthside A Dream In Static
Awesome guest vocalists, amazing production, great musicians and a big budget. Get's a little messy at times but this is mind-blowing for a debut!
Kings Kaleidoscope The Rush
Rise Against The Sufferer and the Witness
Energetic, emotional, catchy. What more does punk need?
Soilwork The Living Infinite
They managed to make a melodeath double album with almost every track being a standout moment. Utterly insane
Soilwork The Ride Majestic

4.5 superb
Abigail Williams Walk Beyond The Dark
Alcest Kodama
Alejandro Aranda The Act of Forgiveness
Amenra Mass VI
Amorphis Under the Red Cloud
Aquilus Griseus
Aquilus Bellum II
Might be their best yet. Symphonics sound a lot more organic, production is improved, and song writing is even more diverse.
Arcane Roots Heaven and Earth
Arcane Roots Melancholia Hymns
August Burns Red Rescue & Restore
August Burns Red Found in Far Away Places
The album is amazing, it's a bit darker than R&R, and has longer and more epic tracks. The interludes are well placed and there even is some sort of harsh/clean singing!
Between the Buried and Me The Parallax II: Future Sequence
Birds in Row We Already Lost the World
Boundaries Death Is Little More
Centuries of Decay A Monument to Oblivion
A cool guy's Between the Buried and Me. Heavy, unconventional, groovy, melodic, moody...
Conjurer Mire
Cult of Luna A Dawn to Fear
Currents All That Follows
Further improvement in the vocal department and the instrumentals got back to being a bit more
creative. Production is also a step up luckily. Great progression from the band.
Dayseeker Sleeptalk
Death Symbolic
Demon Hunter Songs of Death and Resurrection
The livestream they did for this record was very enjoyable, everyone sounded amazing. With the
strings and piano on the EP the songs sound even better. The 'resurrections' of the songs are very
well done, and the vocals are actually very good. Loneliness is my favourite probably. Quite a
varied EP. This is how acoustic renditions should be done.

Super fun pop record, with amazing musicianship. Brings such a good vibe
Myrath Karma
A stellar combination of songs. Noticeably more poppy than previous records, but the songs are
really captivating. Some nice switch-ups within the tracks, and quite a diverse record. 80s, hard
rock, prog, and of course the eastern influences combine into a very enjoyable listen.
Neal Morse ?
Neal Morse The Similitude of a Dream
Main downfall of this record is the repetition, the themes used get recycled way too many times. It feels rather lazy, eventhough they are great hooks / melodies. Still a very strong record.
Nick Johnston Remarkably Human
Excellent instrumental jazzy guitar music without the wank, amazing melodies and well-structured songs. The piano playing truly transcend this record into something amazing
Nick Johnston Wide Eyes in the Dark
A continuation from his previous outing, but just that little more adventurous and diverse. Superb playing without ever really going too far, and the amazing production and songwriting add a lot

A super dynamic, beautiful, and dramatic record... Took a lot of time to click but this really is magnificent.

This EP is just wonderful, It has great melodies that are elevated by the use of a cello. The songs are never too long and build up nicely.
Saor Roots
Saor Amidst the Ruins
Sent By Ravens Mean What You Say
Silent Planet The Night God Slept (Redux)
The best production this band has ever had, does this album justice for sure!
State Faults Children of the Moon
Steven Wilson Hand. Cannot. Erase.
Still Remains Ceasing to Breathe
TesseracT Portals
It's really insane how these songs sound so much more lively with this production. Of course some things still sound a bit 'live' due to the nature of the performance, but I would probably prefer these versions over most of the studio versions...

Mystery The World is a Game
Pride is a massive track, but the rest of the record does not necessarily follow suit. A more
old-fashioned prog record, relatively laid back with focus on melody and atmosphere. The drumming
and vocals stand out instrumentally, so does the closer. These guys really know how to make 15+
minute tracks work.
Mystery Lies and Butterflies
Love how these guys can hold an atmosphere. Surprised how repetitive this band can be while making a track work wonderfully.
Neal Morse Sola Scriptura

More of a jazz fusion vibe than on earlier record and the poppy hooks from Remarkably Human are also back. No vocals this time, that's a not a bad thing. Amazing how this guy can keep reinventing himself.

This live version gives the record so much more energy. It's a shame the guitars still lack some energy, but the whole mix is way better than on the studio version.
Between the Buried and Me Automata II
Between the Buried and Me The Blue Nowhere
Yeah I don't mind these guys just putting whatever random shit they can think about and putting
it in a full length. As long as the production suits them and the vocals are nicely camouflaged.

Surprisingly decent record, although it never seems to truly hit a high point. It is however never boring too. I would like the vocalist to have a bit more grit in the aggressive parts though. He sounds great though, and so do the drums and synth layers.
Ihsahn After
Ihsahn Das Seelenbrechen

Love the Blue Stahli influences, it's really heavy for a Red record and the strings are awesome! I
think they can actually make a lot longer and more epic songs, some songs really feel like they

Siamese Shameless
Really catchy pop rock, with slight hints of bands like Periphery. Autotune on the vocals is
really unnecessary and brings this down, which is a big shame, cause the singer can pull the songs
off perfectly in a live-setting. Violist keeps the songs interesting, but I would like it higher
in the mix.

Soen record that feels just a little different, which is nice. Vocals are indeed somewhat more emotive, but the thin production really hurts the record... A fuller production with more bass and high end might make this their best record yet.
Soilwork Stabbing the Drama
Soilwork A Predator's Portrait
Soilwork Natural Born Chaos
Soilwork Beyond the Infinite
Soilwork Overgivenheten
Some mega bangers (title track + Valley...), and towards the end some stronger songs are positioned. The middle is a bit bland and the loss of Dirk Verbeuren is still felt, sadly. Bjorn however is shining like a star here.

It's such a shame they became so formulaic. Every bridge is a build up with a breakdown, which isn't something they are good at. It makes the songs really samey. They should just stick to their catchy popcore songs instead of trying to become a generic risecore band. I miss the cool keyboard parts too. RIP Jamal

Really do not understand why bands do not go all out with re-recordings like this. Yes, the heavier parts sound better now, but the ambient parts for sure sound worse. If you spend money on re-recording a record, why not put more effort into it sounding the best possible? Now we have two versions that have sound issues lol
Nospun Opus
To me this sounds too much like a cross between Dream Theater and Haken with some boring modern djent tropes like the riffs and the robotic production. The vocalist is excellent but lacks the grit for the heavier parts. The story line is not translated that well into the music partly due to this fact.

The drums are far from tight on this release, although on the end of 'Forging...' it is quite charming. On the title track instantly after though, it sounds horrid. Additionally the songs also aren't as engaging as later ones by this band. Add a vocalist who does not seem to be having the best of times screaming his parts, and you get my rating. Glad they improved upon further releases.
Wolves at the Gate Eclipse
Wolves at the Gate Dawn
I think the screamer is singing here too, which is cool. This EP would really benefit from more organic production though. The songs sound very compressed, and the compositions are a bit too dense in my opinion. Some cool parts, but they are not that different from the original recordings, which I think is quite a shame. I liked their first acoustic EP a lot more.

OK so these guys really made a U-turn. Awesome breakdowns but the rest is poor most of the times.
Some nice vocals on display and the chops are still there, however the whole package really took
a hit...

Where the last record felt quite samey this record really is a rollercoaster. I respect it but
the execution is lacking, except on the few highlights this has (the closer is awesome).
Casting Crowns Casting Crowns

A more varied release, but lacks the energy of the debut. However there are still has some nice songs present. A bit too overproduced in places. Dare to Believe and Back to Life are the highlights for me.

Great production, fun songwriting with lots of earcandy but the songs themselves aren't really a good backbone most of the time. 'Tightrope' and 'Greatness' are great though.
DragonForce Extreme Power Metal
Dream Theater The Astonishing
The new album is pretty different from what you've heard before, there's almost no 'metal' and almost all of the over-the-top solo's are gone. They really focussed on songwriting and orchestration on this record, but the problem is that that makes the record boring in some places. Mangini completely dissapoints in the new album, having no cool beats or fills at all...

wew this record is messy songwriting-wise. Production is too clinical imo, but I do really like
the vocals here
NYVES Anxiety
Oh, Sleeper Children of Fire
So there are parts here that I really like and parts that really do nothing to me and make me want to turn this off. The record feels undeveloped to me, I wish their songs were more streamlined. Feels a bit too much like different parts thrown together and the band wishing something sticks.

Architects For Those That Wish to Exist
Production is mindnumbingly flat and compressed, with vocals that sit way too high in the mix. Honestly, if this record had more gritty production I think it would've actually made this sound better. Quite weird for a 'poppy' record. This also reminds me way too much of Bring me the Horizon. That shouldn't have to be bad, because I thought their last few records where still very good. I've read somewhere they've worked quite a bit with Jordan Fish on this record, and Sam and Oli shared their 'learning to sing' process or whatever, but man, that doesn't need to make it sound so identical to the material Jordan and Oli released... The melodies sound like they are ripped straight from a BMtH record, and the fact that Sam's vocals sound just like Oli's in the harshly sung parts does NOT help... The guitar parts are boring most of the time, and mostly, this records just feels soulless to me. Partly due to the production, partly due to the (cliché) lyrics, and partly due to boring, samey songwriting.

great instrumentals, amazing musicians but the vocalist ruins the record completely. Riffs and drumparts are great, and this even has some nice vocal melodies, if they would be performed by a better vocalist
Black Veil Brides Black Veil Brides
This is pretty fucking terrible. The mixing is bad, the drum has no punch or bass at all, the rvocals are way too high in the mix, even though they are the main thing that drag this album rdown. Andy smoked way too much and it's now taking its toll on his vocals... The bass is inaudible ras well. This album would actually be not that bad if the vocals were better and it wasn't mixed rby a moron, it has good guitarwork as always but the song structure is really boring, most songs rsound the same cause of the verse-chorus-verse shit... There are a few songs that don't completely rsuck though, Stolen Omen is pretty heavy and feels like a Trivium song with some mediocre rscreaming. The solo is nice and actually add something to the song, same goes for 'Crown of rThorns'. 'Goodbye Agony' is a pretty boring song, but the vocals actually work here, as Andy's rsinging a lot lower here, which works rbetter for him.

I like the tracks were Mike does the vocals,
but overall it's really average. Wished they
would just use acoustic instruments on OML, I
think i would've liked it a lot more if they
did. Sad the songs have the same structure
though.. Still has some great tracks and I
don't feel this deserves the hate it has
gotten
Manafest The Moment
Sentinels (US) Idylls
Starset Horizons

The Devil Wears Prada Flowers
Production is on a high level but sadly this brings very poppy melodies, songwriting and
lyrics... Songs like 'Everybody Knows' are too much for me, but Ritual is a banger. Curious how
much traction this gets among casual listeners.
The Royal Deathwatch
The horrible production ruins the last part of potential this could possibly has. Man, the cheap synths sound awful, although it has some energetic parts and cool riffs scattered throughout, this doesn't do anything better than their first two records...
Thirty Seconds to Mars Love Lust Faith + Dreams
The problem with this album are the vocals (Leto can do so much better, he really ruined Conquistador) and that the drum beat is the same in every fuckin song. I think this album actually has some cool idea's and most instrumentals are quite nice! The orchestra and electronics are well used. The vocal(melody)s and repitition just really bring this down...
Thousand Foot Krutch Oxygen: Inhale
Three Days Grace Human
Car Crash and One Too Many are by far the worst tracks on this album, maybe the worst tracks ever
made in the genre...

U2 All That You Can't Leave Behind

Lots of cool ideas here, but on the one record they fixed their production they ruin their songs
by either really strange song writing choices, ripping of Polyphia, awkward choruses, or just bad
vocals. Band has potential but never fully utilized it. Especially Berlin and The Game really have
potential to be cool songs.
Voices from the Fuselage Odyssey: The Founder of Dreams
We Came As Romans We Came As Romans
Improved vocals but the songs are really boring, without any cool riffs or drum parts. This is
basically a pop record, with some "hardcore" songs.
While She Sleeps So What?
They can write two amazing songs with the good sections of this record. Hence the rating.
Wolves at the Gate Wasteland
Incredibly boring chug fest. These guys threw almost everything that made them good out of the window for this release... SMOKE (False Devils) is the obvious highlight. Perhaps wouldn't hurt them to just get Jordan Fish on board for the next record.
