Tokino Sora Pulse
I've become a big fan of Sora-chan over the last year or two. The gap moe between her strong daisenpai aura and her usual cute aka-chan persona is very endearing. But enough about that, this new album is once again packed full with fun and poppy songs. Lots of feather-light melodies that produce great upbeat vibes. Dancing Reed might be a new favorite for me and I T8KE ME is also great. My only big problem with this album is that the production can become very grating, its very trembly and high tone focussed. Doesn't help that a lot of these songs also have plenty of high pitched samples in them, fitting to Soras high vocal range. For that re

Amane Kanata Trigger
An absurdly energetic album that blasts you with one catchy and fun song after another. The short 30 minutes runtime works for how high energy this album is, though its lack of any breather in the setlist is what ultimately amounts to my only real critique of this album. Kanata released the piano ballad "lumiere" shortly after this album came out. It would've fit pretty well on here and made the album feel more complete. Kanata's debut had a great balance of slow emotional songs and hype bangers, which still slightly edges out Unknown DIVA over Trigger for me. Still, this is another incredibly fun and high quality Kanata album, her vocals are

Early metalcore drenched in that for the era so typical hardcore, its barebones but pretty lovely. They were always able to create great atmosphere with songwriting aswell as gripping groves. Think I'm preferring this to the first Earth Crisis effort.

Tokoyami Towa SHIN
Listening to this album just now has made me breathe a sigh of relief. Loved all three singles and hoped the more experimental approach would continue on the album tracks. For some reason the more recent album teaser left me completely cold and the way the album opened didn't give me that much hope. There they are again, the "WOAH OH OH" chants which a bunch of holo albums have to open with this year apparently. The song itself is a fine opener though, great energetic solo, nice vocal melodies. Very traditional but enjoyable (apart from the chants). Prescription has a much more interesting instrumental and Bloom is probably the blandest examp

Ookami Mio My Sparkle
I didn't fully grasp the beauty of this album until I sat in my flight back home from a hiking trip in the lake district recently, listening to the album multiple times while reading Mio's interview with billboard. Her talking about the travel theme of the album and how she hopes it will help with anxiety actually got me through my flight anxiety in that moment. My Sparkle has less intense anime opening esque songs than Night Walk but at the same time it feels more unique and branching out into a couple interesting musical directions. Genuinely starting to love every song on here. Miosha did very well once again.

IRyS YaBAI
Excellent eurobeat EP (or j-beat if you prefer) with a lot of energetic instrumentals and fun singing from IRyS. I have very fond memories of jamming Carbonated Love constantly when it came out last year while I was in Paris for Japan Expo. There are a bunch of different styles on this aswell, the variety within this short playtime is pretty neat, especially while staying consistent to the eurobeat theme. Been waiting for a new IRyS release for 3 years now and this definitely delivered the goods.

Aki Rosenthal Musical Fantasia of Bremen
Not a fan of musicals personally although I do really enjoy Aki's 3DLives, this live album version does little for me. Hope Aki releases a full album containing all her singles at some point, that would slap.

  • OmairSh Doing well my brother. How about we banter in this thread. Search for the Band Tabahi, album is Thrash for Justice. You might enjoy this album, its a Pakistani thrash band thats got the old school style with modern production, and I?ve been jamming it heavily. Recommended it to some other oldies like us but the thread is a bit quiet atm haha. I?ve linked a couple of songs in the comments if you?re curious about the sound
