 | Voivod Dimension Hatröss I'm being so real when I say that this album is the audio equivalent of doing the most satisfying spastic stimming imagineable. Perfection. 5/5 | 5.0 02.10.26 | | FLOW GLOW FLOW GLOW Whatever I could write here, it wouldn't do the excitement that I'd felt leading up to the release of this album any justice. I'm very invested in this group because their leader, Isaki Riona, has been my favorite hololive member to watch and support for almost a year now. I even found a fun community thanks to that. All that to say, I'm very biased. Still, it can't be denied that this album is a lot of fun, its short and punchy and has a variety of different styles under the j-rap umbrella on offer. The only aspect one has to get over are the autotuned vocals that are a staple of this genre. Implemented well, they add to a track and I think | 5.0 02.09.26 | | Hololive Idol Project #OperationHeartfulCuties ~You've Got No Choice but An EP of rather conventional idol tracks that got released to thematically fit with the
Hololive 3rd Generation live concert that took place over two days in mid january 2026 to a
live audience of 20k a day. I often have a hard time with these types of songs because they
never grab me instrumentally, aren't usually that interesting vocally and my japanese is not
good enough yet to understand what they sing about. Such songs do tend to grow on me over
time though, which was also the case here. There's a good amount of fun melodies and
songwriting ideas and learning about some of the lyrical conte | 3.0 02.09.26 | | Takane Lui Lapis Lazuli An album brimming with swag and attitude. As an enjoyer of Lui's unique singing voice I was also a fan of her debut album but Lapis Lazuli improves on it in strides. Every instrumental on here is lush and energetic, each song having their distinct identity and quality. Lui seems to have gotten a lot more confident in her vocals, you can hear her singing in a variety of styles and even cawing like the hawk that she is. I'm especially happy about having another metal banger on here as a sort of sequel to Fools Fools Fools. And what a banger it is, Anastasis Girl might actually be my favorite hololive song of 2025. Lap-chan and Lui-nee work perf | 4.5 01.18.26 | | ReGLOSS Snapshot I've come to really appreciate ReGLOSS as a group over the last two years and that carries over to their music. Ao-kuns graduation was a tragic one, no doubt. She leaves an unfillable gap in their group dynamic aswell as in their vocal variety. That being said, I think this second album is an improvement on their debut. Feelingradation still remains my favorite ReGLOSS song but this new album has a lot more fullness and variety to it. While ReGLOSS still upholds their musical identity with these often more moody k-pop-esque instrumentals, theres a lot to discover on here. I'm especially a fan of the four solo songs that really bring their ind | 4.5 01.18.26 | | AZKi Re𝄇Birth This remake EP turned out to be a bit of a disappointment for me. The new instrumentals are quite nice and its definitely not a bad thing to have some different interpretations of these songs available. Still, the comparison to the old versions will inevitably have to be made and while the production is a definite upgrade on the 6-7 year old songs, these also lack the more rugged charm early AZKi music always had. These new instrumentals are brighter now and together with AZKi's modern more restrained and controlled vocal delivery, they definitely lack that certain emotional grit those old songs had in spades. Without U and aoi yume especiall | 3.5 01.10.26 | | AZKi Re𝄆Start AZKi has my favorite singing voice in hololive, straight up. Her early material (2018-2020) also remains some of my favorite music that was ever released under the hololive umbrella and even after that into 2022 there were absolutely stunning songs among her many single releases. But after that it kinda flattened out. This EP is a good example of that. I do like all these songs here and track 1 and 4 are especially catchy, but they don't grab me in any way emotionally like early AZKi used to. Had similar issues with her 2024 album but its even more pronounced here because there is less variety. Still a great EP overall but nothing really movi | 3.5 01.02.26 |
