| DadKungFu EZ best lists on the whole site really enjoy your work
| mystagogus Thanks for those folky lists! With your taste, perhaps you could find this worth checking https://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands/Din-Brad/147860/ | https://din-brad.bandcamp.com/album/dor
| JohnnyoftheWell Agreed very strongly - l o v e that murky production for their sound, and what I've heard of their subsequent work (which has a much cleaner sound) doesn't quite command the same mystique. Second s/t album is in a similar vein though! Will hop on that Kenichiro Isoda, feeling a bit timed-out on new age and ambient atm but will inevitably come back to em soon
| bighubbabuddha Thanks for trying it out. It's definitely a grower. It's biggest weakness is that the pace of movements changes very little throughout.
| JohnnyoftheWell Oops sorry! https://eddiemarcon.bandcamp.com/album/eddie-marcon-2002
| bighubbabuddha would be fascinated to see your rating for John Frusciante - To Record Only Water For Ten Days. hugs
| JohnnyoftheWell This is right up your street https://rateyourmusic.com/artist/???????
| ArsMoriendi You seem to love neofolk a lot! I'm using your lists as a guide to implement the NEW neofolk tag! :) Just thought you should know
| DadKungFu Hey saw you weren't feeling Raja Kirik from last year and I'm vibing with it in a pretty big way rn and kind of wondered what your thoughts/misgivings/perspective about it were if you've got the time or the inclination
| MiloRuggles You're my hero, I need more zeuhl! Will report back with a 14 word review in X days/weeks. Jerry chrimbus!
| MiloRuggles geeeez brutha, that's a lot of ratings! any chance you can supply me with a personalised rec?
| Dewinged Nice! I had the feeling that you'd like it. Very promising band for sure. I wanted to review it but work and life has been hectic these days!
| Dewinged Forgot to tell you on the list but you may like this Helga (SWE) album! It's a nice balance between Alcest and folk ala that Myrkur record: https://helgamusic.bandcamp.com/album/wrapped-in-mist
| bighubbabuddha https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1297949 here is my end of year list if you are interested
| Voivod Looking forward to the new entry in your neofolk series!
| Voivod I posted on the news, a stream for a new Exulansis album titled Hymns of Collapse, which is neo-folk. It turns out these guys have another new album this year titled Overtures of Uprising, described in a Bandcamp sound off as "black metal with violins". Both album should be interesting for you.
| Voivod Usually, metal and classical/symphonic instrumentation are mutually cancelling in terms of dynamics, but Nattfly managed to merge the former into the latter.
| Voivod Hi, I think you should listen to this asap, hint: black metal played exclusively with chordal instruments: https://nattfly.bandcamp.com/album/s-nger-f-r-den-kalla-modern
| JohnnyoftheWell Closest thing this site has to a Nobue Kawana thread - would be interested to hear your thoughts on her in more depth https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=204249
| Voivod Glad to know you liked the album, cheers!
| Voivod Hi, I think this is up your alley: https://toadstonemusic.bandcamp.com/album/cernunnos
| budgie hooo thanks. i used to listen to the first track a million years ago but forgot about it then recognized it from your recent rating
| budgie hey do you know where to buy/get the first elemental chrysalis record?
| Voivod Hi, I think you will like this: https://rivercascadia.bandcamp.com/album/regeneration
| Kusangii 100% objectivity lol, goals right here
| garas Hey! :] Something tells me you'd love this album: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=424901
| will czech these albums out, and for ceis I'll just use soulseek lol. really cool of you to add the links on the next list btw, no pressure but it's not every day we see someone that dedicated on sputnik. gonna be eagerly waiting for your new list, sounds dope already ;]
| rellik009 i saw the Ceis album on your last list and i wondered if you had a link to download it cuz it sounds lovely as always :]
| garas Turns out Obtained Enslavement is really good! So far I finished the first two LPs, and your observation turned out perfectly right. The similarities are crystal clear! I'm especially glad for it, because this might be a valuable info for an upcoming review! :]
| garas Oh my bad! Sorry, I totally misunderstood. I don't know that band at all, but they seem promising! Thanks for the rec!! ;]
| garas I was never into Enslaved that much, but I also feel that Emperor vibe. The riffs are typical Finnish style stuff though, but the overall sound is awesome. The closest one I could think of is Vargrav, but this is less cheesier than that, haha.
| garas Dude, you gotta hear the new Warmoon Lord album! https://warmoonlord.bandcamp.com/album/battlespells
| newoldnew I am ready to pay a copy if you make a digital rip)
| newoldnew hi can you share this album (https://www.amazon.com/Solvharpe-Celtic-Nordic-music-for-harp/dp/B086MHP692) with me, thank you in advance for the answer
| DungeonBoy Aw, thank you so much for that feedback :) It's the album I've been wanting to make since I started recording instrumental stuff, and I think the compositions have improved a lot as well. I really appreciate you listening to it, thanks again, it makes me want to keep improving :)
| DungeonBoy Hey Elynna, just wanted to let you know that the new Rota Fortunae album is out now if you wanted to give it a listen. I made a list with a couple links to the stream and would love to hear your thoughts on it: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=594971
| rellik009 ayyy glad you liked it :] We Slept At Last is indeed a banger... or should I say, a folker ;D
| DDDeftoneDDD also the DM bits on last couple of tracks are pretty cool too, surprising release tbh, but yeah, maybe nothing too special. Have you seen the girl's pics and imagery? XD
| DDDeftoneDDD I think so too! She s pretty awesome. I also like how she merges folk and acoustic but keeping the songs super agressive.
| DDDeftoneDDD Its bm follkish synthy, one girl project you must check. Yeah its that part of the year where you think you got it all controlled and suddenly you drowned lool cheers.
| rellik009 hey Elynna czech out Marika Hackman, she's a sweet and lovely contemporary folk singer-songwriter, kind of in the vein of Ichiko Aoba but with more electronics. Especially czech out the one with the album cover that has a lot of blue on it (can never remember the name).
| garas I couldn't agree more! Flutes are sometimes annoying, but in Hiraeth's case it is part of the album's charm - or something like that, haha. I'm stuck in a replay loop. Might review it too.
| garas Hey! I think this will be interesting for you: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=386963
| DDDeftoneDDD I am. Indeed had them under the radar! TKS for reminding me!
| DDDeftoneDDD damn the track A Forlom Peasant's Hymn (Hulder) is ****ing me up. Hug
| DDDeftoneDDD talented dude fs, I jammed it quite a bit! no VETUR yet? hug
| DDDeftoneDDD s***! shores of null is legit stuff. TKS a lot for the rec.
| rellik009 You're welcome dude, I knew you'd love it! ;] Fav track? Mine is 'Rhizome'. The soloing on that one is just insane levels of epic haziness.
| DDDeftoneDDD Uff that rec seems solid af. Will jam (prob after xmas as well)
| DDDeftoneDDD Hey maybe you are the right person to rec this...check VETUR - Vist. I think you'll like it.
| rellik009 two other albums you'll probably like: 'kreiz Da Faz by Startijenn and Captured Spirits by Mammal Hands. I know I'm being random, but I hope you'll enjoy all of these nonetheless! :]
| rellik009 yo bud judging on your taste there is a high chance you'll like Estradasphere - It's Understood. Not saying it'll be mind-blowing, but give it a try.
| garas Nice to see I'm not the only one who didn't like the new Carach Angren.
| Panzerchrist Hey, I saw your soundoff and wanted to let you know that Stefan reactivated Mithotyn's facebook account almost immediately after the last Falconer album dropped. Good chance we'll be getting more Mith material here soon
| lalchimiste Wow, thanks a lot for the kind words! I feel the same way, I think I really improved in both aspects of composition and sound. Again thanks for the insights and taking the time to check it out : )
| lalchimiste Hi, if you're in the mood for some black/flok just letting you know my new album's releasing today if you have time to check it out and drop some feedback : )https://allelic.bandcamp.com/album/contre-venthttps://open.spotify.com/album/7ruTAwwBwvMcRNZLKLsJeX
| garas I'm very-very glad you enjoyed it! I'm always happy when dungeon synth albums get the love what they deserve.
| frozencarl oh man, this is definitely shaping up to be one of my favorite releases this year. they do the early Kalmah sound as good as Kalmah did m/
| frozencarl https://foredoomed.bandcamp.com/album/chaos-and-beautyi think you'd like this- progressive melodeath with some catchy cleans
| lalchimiste Hey, thanks for the rec. I actually jammed it last friday and was really impressed. I remember really digging the post-rock/metal tones with a nice balance of doomish riffs to blasty parts. Will definitely give it more listens, thanks !
| DDDeftoneDDD yeah. I like a lot that Slugdge too, tightly followed by Hourrendous.
| ScuroFantasma I gave the album a go, it's nice enough but I have the same problem with it I recall having with the debut, it just doesn't have enough grit for my taste, y'know? It's pretty, and the melodies are nice, but there's something missing, it's too clean for me. I'll give it another listen with headphones and see if my opinion changes though, thanks for bringing my attention to it in any case (:
| ScuroFantasma Cheers for the rec, I'll jam it tonight (: If it's anything like the latest Evilfeast I'll be very happy.
| necropig Just came across fishmans, I see you've checked the big 2 releases. Highly recommend the live album
| necropig Oh fvck, I'll def have a looksie
| necropig I will. Seeing your dig is what made me remember about elend as I haven't listened to them in years
| necropig Elend are some good darkwave :3
| necropig :] ha excellent, one step ahead of me
| necropig You should check out Dolorian, good doomy metalzzz
| necropig You should check ved buens ende. Rules
| necropig Glad you liked. Your rec was a good call, liking it. Not sure on your opinion on black/thrash metal from Japan but check The Dwelling by Sabbat. A 60 minute track
| necropig https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4Mv1OWgWbA Give this a listen
| necropig It's great and yeah it's a real shame :[ I see you've liked most of what I rec'd. Sweet.
| necropig Awesome. Get yourself a proper download rather than yt qaulity. There's a lot going on. Yeah I've listened to both of them. Haven't rated either though as I'm a twat.
| necropig also try Macabre omen - gods of war at war. Greek, good shiz.
| necropig Quick browse there and I'd recommend you check Odium - the sad realm of the stars. Weakling - Dead as Dreams (essential imo)
| necropig Yes! Glad to hear. The first was missing the whip transition, which is essential. wuh-PSSSH
| necropig https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6N9CW2b2VE The first I linked is missing an essential transition from track 1 to 2. Can't have you missing out.
| necropig Yeh it shat itself as usual. That's cool. Sure, sometimes the repetition is good on occasion but hey. Give this one a go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swuZzfn8cuY
| necropig This is quite cold. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzg5pPxdzEQ
| necropig Awesome. Thought you might as you're big evilfeast fan. Their album are all majority improvised over a few days which is nuts.
| cor22222 and maybe this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYSrV-RKnyI
| necropig You may like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcyi_xFtgGQ
| clavier just want to say cheers for your kind comment on my latest review; it's warming to know that someone has gotten something out of my writing.
| cor22222 Btw how much time do you spend daily to listen to albums?
| cor22222 I have Agalloch on my list, gonna check rest of your suggestions.
| cor22222 What do you recommend to listen from black metal?
| Jom I appreciate your artist edits, but no accent marks, please. Any time umlauts, tildes, etc. are in the queue, they turn to indecipherable characters, which makes artists difficult to find (especially if the artist name is only a few characters; e.g. Lor). Cheers!
