08.29.26 | I’ve never smoked myself but I think it’s funny all my friends who are regularly ripping bongs/dabs/vapes are among some of the most high strung people I know. They tell me it’s the only thing that calms them down but they don’t realize that going too long without smoking is what is making them irritable now.
Best of luck trying to quit again, hope it sticks this time. Remember, your mind works for you, not the other way around. |
JayEnder
08.29.26 | I can relate to this so hard man. Been trying to quit for this exact reason, but much like yourself I fall back into it as soon as I feel bored like the weed is somehow going to "enhance" my music listening experience or my investment in a TV show/movie. And something about this modern weed is way too strong, I can't be the only one who thinks so. Weed used to give me the giggles and munchies now I'm on the verge of a full fledged panic attack after one or two hits. I find it makes me content with doing absolutely nothing and that's just about the worst thing for someone's growth as a person, both creatively and professionally.
Hope you can find the strength to quit for good, its hard but ultimately I think its for the best to get your life back on track. |
combustion07
08.29.26 | I used to smoke an obnoxious amount of weed. I got lucky though and took too much acid and after that day every time I smoke I have a nightmarish time so I was cured via momentarily breaking my brain lol. Hope it sticks man. I think with smoking you eventually get to a point where it isn’t really helping with much of anything you originally thought it was. It’s the same with hard drugs. At a certain point it just becomes your baseline and rather than doing it to get some benefit you’re just blowing your money to feel “normal” |
Intothepit
08.29.26 | I gave it up for nearly 10 years, and life was fantastic. Unfortunately insomnia in the last 2 has come rip roaring back, and I'm not taking a gummy just to go to sleep. It is what it is, and I haven't felt the need to really take it outside of that, but I get it, man. 100% |
jrlikestodance
08.29.26 | Man this is so real as someone who has smoked regularly from ages 15-34 and my longest break being like 3 months. I'm also in the boat that going cold turkey is prob not an option. It's too ingrained in my life and I find I personally get more benefit from it than not. Of course some will call that addiction, but I feel I have more "control" than I did when I was younger. I'm at the point where I only smoke after I've completed my tasks such as work/homework/chores. It's not perfect and sometimes I slip up but I'm happy with my relationship w the plant and I'm where I want to be in life right now. Always here if you wanna talk about this stuff at length cuz I have a lot of complicated thoughts on this subject. |

08.29.26 | I was hooked on cocaine last year, and I think that was preferable to being brain dead and shackled to this shit. It’s just a means to throw time in the garbage. 100% addictive and negative, regardless of what everyone says. I hate it. Fuuuuuck weed. |
AlkemestRedux
08.29.26 | Yee I used to smoke weed a lot at various times but my body has never really liked it. My first time I had a pretty embarrassing freak out at a crowded house party and ever since it's just given me mad anxiety unless I already have a tolerance. But even then I think it still gives me anxiety I'm just used to it lol
Glad I don't smoke much anymore honestly. It can indeed be life derailing. The thing that almost wrecked my life though when I was younger was opiates. That shit also sucks. |
combustion07
08.29.26 | Agreed on opiates being the devil. Also agree on weed being stupid strong. I actually slowed down a ton on smoking before I quit because I felt like the high from smoking was strong enough that I wasn’t actually feeling the high from the heroin I was on lol |
artificialbox
08.29.26 | Appreciate the comments, I knew you guys would get it. Honestly what encouraged me to try to quit again was a conversation I had with an employee at my local dispensary. He told me he was sober and that the catalyst for him quitting was getting really stoned while his wife and child were asleep and just sitting in the dark alone feeling really paranoid and anxious and wondering why the fuck he kept smoking when all it did was make him feel like a piece of shit. I told him I could relate and had asked myself the same question so many times. Why do we keep going back to the things that hurt us? The question applies to drugs, relationships, and more.
I know I can do this again, but the difficult part is being caught between wanting to quit and feeling like I "deserve" to smoke because of how hard I work or whatever other excuse I come up with. Honestly the first week or two is easy, but then your brain starts telling you that you "won" and now you "deserve" a treat. That's when it gets really hard for me. Having these types of conversations with people who understand really helps though. |
AlkemestRedux
08.29.26 | I feel that one. Even though I haven't smoked cigarettes in like eight years I'll still get the urge when I smell second hand smoke. It's kind of crazy actually but I just remind myself of all the awful stuff that comes along with it and tough it out. Exercise helps too. Kinda generic advice but it does wonders. |
combustion07
08.29.26 | Sometimes it’s easy to get comfortable with something that hurts you especially when it’s a routine/big part of your life. Deviating from that is difficult. Try to reward yourself with things that you actually get something out of. Sometimes you can hit a rut where nothing feels rewarding too and you’ve just got to power through those times. Also the whole idea of “playing the tape through” helps. Picture what everything is going to look like a year or 5 down the line. That’s helped me because I’ve been down the route enough that I know inevitably where it leads. Since you’ve quit before too you also do |
budgie
08.30.26 | "Even though I haven't smoked cigarettes in like eight years I'll still get the urge when I smell second hand smoke.
dood i stopped smoking last year after like 15 years and i have absolutely zero cravings, how fucking weird is that. also have zero booze cravings after around a year as well after drinking pretty heavily for nearly the same amt of time. wonder if its like an epigenetic thing. but man whenever i smell rubbing alcohol i get a huge craving for you know what lmao |
BAT
08.30.26 | I smoked half my life starting at 13 and being daily at 15, I kinda lost the routine around the pandemic when my dad died and eventually it got legalized where I'm at annnnd all of it just makes me too paranoid to be able to relax and chill out. I honestly miss it but when reassessing my mental health: it made me predisposed for a lot of issues I'd have in my twenties, than you add alcoholism/depression/taking whatever I could find annnd yeah I was a miserable zombie for most of my twenties and I shoulda treated myself better. I'll smoke again but feel like most stoners I grew up with have an arc similar to either mine or yours. I don't think it's for everyone though and think people who hype it up as a miracle cure all are deluding themselves into escapism. But yeah I'm a lot less miserable, haven't had an anxiety attack in like 7 years. That said quitting drinking straightened out a lot of my issues, quitting weed was more like a "oh I didn't really care or need this to make me enjoy things." |

08.30.26 | I used to smoke daily through most of high school and college than somewhere in my late twenties. Asked myself what the hell I was doing. BAT
08.30.26 | I used to pick up for my brother cause his car was fucked and I'd get the cheapest, lowest THC weed I could. I have a stash from like 2 years of that for when I do get in the mood, but a random bonghit will have me feeling like im wasting my life. Oddly enough vapes and gummies don't effect me like that so I dabble in those on occasion. Cigs I've had like 4 this year, but I never got into the habit of chain-smoking packs I mostly just used them as filler for spliffs |
smaugman
08.30.26 | to me, it seems like the people who post these kind of things, are also the people who have addictive personalities. of course, if you smoke during the day, you are much more likely to get problems from it. 08.30.26 | @smaug most of my dads side was beatniks into smack/meth/etc and most of the men eventually drunk themselves to death. my moms side was more pill heavy, drug use wasn't really taboo in my youth because my parents had done exponentially worse lol. than add in my family being dysfunctional as fuck, their families likewise, several gens of generational trauma, list kinda goes on and on. by most diagnosis criteria i'm at a high risk for addiction among other things. just kinda try my best tbh, at the moment i'm mostly sober/stable buuut all the body neglect of my 20s is catching up to me in my 30s. |

08.30.26 | definitely depends on how you're using it. if you are doing it everyday and especially waking up and getting high you have an obvious problem. and i do think a lot of issues people have with weed is that it's often being used as some form of escapism from life and depression. of course you are going to develop some negative connections between the two. but i also agree that it's far from a harmless drug. it does zap your feeling to move forward or do anything.
i just take a 5mg gummy every night as a sleep aid and to wind down. that does the trick for me. all it does is make me tired and space out. never felt the need to do more or do it during the day. guess i'm lucky in that respect. |
Emim
08.30.26 | "It feels like the prevailing thought is that marijuana addiction is not a real addiction though."
The pendulum definitely swung too far back the other way once it got legalized. Absolutely crazy hearing like 10-12 year olds talking about how they need to quit vaping |

08.30.26 | Try being addicted to crack and heroin. I smoke weed a lot but the way I see it, if you are going to do it - you are the only one telling yourself whether to do it or not.
A lot of the time I think it is just how you perceive it - there are a lot of negatives associated with drug use but there are also a lot of positives -otherwise people wouldn't do it, if you catch my drift. |

08.30.26 | It blows my mind that people can smoke weed and drink, yet lead functional lives. I can feel the quality of my work slipping after just a beer. And smoking weed? May as well not let me manage anything for a half day at least.
I guess what I’m saying is at least you’ve managed to stay alive and be a decent enough person to at least find a partner despite your addiction. Others (like myself) woulda been dead in a ditch long ago.
Btw don’t do this whole “trying to quit, might succeed might fail” thing. Begin with the end in mind and just fucking do it. You’re trying because you know success is not only possible but probable. And if you need a new vice to help manage the transition; a morning routine of freshly ground coffee beans or steeped loose leaf tea will take you far. Godspeed |

08.30.26 | Very few things more overrated than weed. Wish I could moderate it but I've learned I can't. It's fun for ten minutes then everything is about keeping that high going which is obviously fruitless. Daytime use is fucked too, feeling burnt out at 2 pm fucking sucks, just going in and out of sleep on the couch, nothing holds your interest and the day feels wasted. The final straw for me was finally realising that it wasn't getting "high" anymore for me, it was getting paranoid, getting self-conscious, getting scared over stupid shit, and that all those thoughts and feelings actually bled over into my sober brain too. |

08.30.26 | I've had an issue in the past, thankfully it was just smoking every day at home and only lasted a few months. I've smoked a few times since a long break and hopefully can manage it better now. If I fall into the habit again I'll just need to stop having it at home period. I count myself lucky since I never tried it before my 20s.
I wish you the best. Kicking something that gives you comfort is not easy, and I understand the short fuse thing that crops up. You're in a much easier position now than the first time you quit. It'll be a shorter window for it to stop sucking. Having a passion like you do helps.
Agendapost: Even with all the problems that weed has, I'll take it over alcohol. Weed addiction makes you just kinda "worse", alcohol makes you an active danger to yourself and others. I'm probably biased considering my father was an alcoholic, but yeah I hate that shit. |

08.30.26 | Drugs fucking sucks ass agreed guys. Anyone trying to convince you otherwise is living in denial or haven't experienced the worst part about it. Truly wish I never abused weed and "only" sticked to alcohol since I could balance that healthily. Smoking weed was a recipe for depression and anxiety for me. Part of it was also my environment but still. Weed was also an import drug to MDMA for me and that shit ruined me in ways I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. Utter nightmare. |

08.30.26 | never experienced addiction nor really bad trips nor anything like that, judt getting high felt less and less good over time. And yeah budg its like the main thing road blocking me from picking it back up, I do feel like if I made an effort to build up my tolerance I'd probably be able to chill out again: buuut conceptually intentionally developing and growing a drug habit is kind of a weird effort lol. Unlike others I didn't really have many negative experiences when I was on it, and I was waking up taking gravity bong hits for like ten years straight: buuut yeah eventually it just becomes routine rather than a experience. I will say even if it doesn't fuck with your behavior eventually you'll fall into the cycle of wanting to be high to enjoy anything, annnd that's just kind of a escapist falsehood. |

man i did a lot of e in my late teens and have always wondered how much that fucked me. can't ever know for sure but sometimes i feel like a lot of the larger decisions i've made in life since have been like, motivated by a subconscious desperation to find and feel that magic again, could have totally wonderful girlfriend and live in a cool area but it doesn't stack up to being 19 again and sitting on a cliff in carlsbad with your best friends and girl at 11pm looking at the ocean all rolling hard so i lose interest and walk away hoping there's something better waiting for me |

But yeah, I'm pretty it has given me permanent damage from abusing that shit. It's a fucking nightmare and I'm not sure if I'll be the same. Have lost so many years because of the health issues. 08.30.26 | Well that's what drugs will do to you eventually if you don't respect it. Some people just don't have a limit and I would guess your friend was one of those just like mine. He hit me up talking about how fucked off prison was. A few weeks ago he hit me up asking if I could hook him up with one of my old dealers. Definitely going back. Drugs suck indeed. I’m also not particularly against weed but if someone is saying they have a problem with it then they should probably stop. That said though, she went off on a work contract for a little while and it seemed like it would be fun to get a bit of weed and listen to some music or watch an old show or whatever. It was kind of scary how quickly I slipped into just spending my evening smoking and zoning out while she was away, just like from nothing to almost every evening. Like someone said above, it just made doing nothing feel good and it was such an easy way to kill boredom but it provided nothing back really. I couldn't even watch a new show/movie because I'd wind up zoning out too easily and missing/forgetting a bunch of it. She got back and I dropped it as easily as I'd picked it up but it was eye opening to see just how easily that switch had flipped in the first place. |

08.31.26 | Physical health risks: increased risks of lung cancer, bronchitis, heart disease. potentially strokes for those with cardiovascular disease
Mental health risks: increased risks of psychosis and schizophrenia, also can induce paranoia and anxiety while high.
Driving risks: driving while under the influence of cannabiscan increase the risk of accidents, injury and death.
Funding organised crime: even in countries where cannabis is legal organised crime benefits from selling the drug. Particularly in counties where cannabis is illegal organised crime is allowed to flourish causing great harm to citizens. |
BAT
08.31.26 | physical : not much studies here ever proved anything, the majority of those listed are standard risks with smoking anything/inhaling smoke pollution. if you want to get real though pets/children eating concentrates is potentially fatal. pretty much the only recorded human deaths are in the vein of careless parents leaving their shit out for the baby.
mental : it doesn't really 'cause' either of those, but can exacerbate problems with people who have both. paranoia and anxiety is common though but once again more at a risk for people already with an anxiety disorder. when i was having panic attacks i was on a handful of things daily and my living situation was pure stress. i'd say taking random russian nootropics had more of an effect around that time.
driving : i feel like stoners do kinda let this one slide where there is definitely risk factors, i wouldn't let someone face their first blunt and ask them to drive.
funding crime: it's been getting legalized and grown through official routes buuut i feel like the pharmaceutical industry already has a link with organized crime regardless of weed. it's definitely profited off of but it's a blip compared to like the fentanyl trade.
but yeah it affects everyone differently, pretty much all those negatives go hand in hand with any drug. most of my social circle now is people who weren't stoners, my general advice to them is that if they're fine with how their life is there's not much point to gravitate to it. although i'm probably more likely to take a shot of whiskey on a whim, i'd advocate weed over alcohol anyday. that doesn't make it harmless thoo |
bighubbabuddha
08.31.26 | Bat you are so wrong, cannabis is known as a direct risk for developing psychosis, especially if smoked as a teenager or with high THC. The science is unequivocal |
BAT
08.31.26 | Pretty much every story/personal account I've read claims it triggers psychosis, not rewired a fully grown brain in one hit. A study linking the two isn't indisputable truth though, like I said everyone's different and has their own predisposed conditions. Personally I see the "it turned me schitzo" with acid, but weed is also a psychoactive drug so yeah. There's more depth in the topics of psychosis and schizophrenia themselves, often coming out of no where with age. Weed is a risk factor for those people, theyre not particularly predictable conditions. |

08.31.26 | Yes. Cannabis can both:
Cause temporary psychotic symptoms during intoxication—paranoia, hallucinations, or losing touch with reality.
Increase the likelihood of developing a longer-lasting psychotic disorder, including schizophrenia, particularly in susceptible people.
Risk appears to rise with:
Starting young, especially before about age 16.
Daily or near-daily use.
Higher THC concentration.
A personal or family history of psychosis, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder.
Previous cannabis-related paranoia or hallucinations.
A meta-analysis found adolescent use was associated with about a 71% higher relative risk of later psychosis—not a 71% chance of developing it. A large 2026 cohort similarly found roughly twice the rate of new psychotic disorders among adolescents reporting cannabis use, although observational research cannot remove every possible confounding factor. Adolescent meta-analysis, 2026 cohort study
THC at 20–30% is high potency. In a major European study, “high potency” was only ≥10% THC. Compared with never-users, daily cannabis use was associated with 3.2 times the odds of psychotic disorder, rising to 4.8 times with daily high-potency use. These are group-level odds, not an individual prediction. EU-GEI study A 2025 systematic review also found high-concentration THC products were consistently associated with worse psychosis-related outcomes, while noting limitations in study quality. Systematic review
Here is the science, it's really interesting |

08.31.26 | I asked GPT Sol Max 5.6 which is a pretty powerful AI model and summarised well |
BAT
08.31.26 | Yeah I agree with most of that info and im still comfortable summing it up the way I have. With any drug people should do their research, but when it comes to any drug science is still far from definitively quantifying every aspect. It's more of a problem with people predisposed to a risk rather than one puff will drive you crazy. Smoking excessive amounts constantly becomes a risk factor, but "normal" recreational use doesn't have like acid casualties, people who've od'd and had brain damage from lack of oxygen, etc. alcohol induced psychosis is much more common in criminology/health services. |
bighubbabuddha
08.31.26 | I've never framed it as one puff.
I'm talking about teenage use, very frequent use and high potency use all increasing the risk of developing psychosis. And that's just not true, my sister is a psychiatrist who sees way more cannabis induced psychosis compared to alcohol induced psychosis (which is really rare and you are just talking out your ass lmao) |
bighubbabuddha
08.31.26 | Cannabis can modulate dopamine in a very different way in the brain which leads to delusions (fixed beliefs that do not change) and hallucinations (auditory like police sirens and voices are most common) the brain is really complex |
BAT
08.31.26 | cannabis is getting more common now with the advances in growing, it wasn't really a problem until the past ten years. as i've previously stated earlier in the thread : yeah concentrates will fuck you up. taking anything in excessive amounts will fuck you up, downing any random bottle of medicine/supplements will fuck you up: there's a different between using something and using something to poison yourself. my disagreement is mainly 'they cause psychosis' rather than 'they elevate the risk psychosis,' you're framing it like it's a commonality when i'm calling it a under researched risk. i agree with you like 80% and my disagreements mainly come down to linguistics/framing and correlation.
and you're right about 'cannabis more common' but i honestly haven't researched it since before we had like dabs as a mainstream thing, stuff changes as i've said we're kinda still learning/researching things. some papers/studies will come to a different conclusion than others despite covering a same area, really it's up to you how you treat that information annd i'm just treating it the way i feel like. |

bighubbabuddha
08.31.26 | Bat you don't know what you are talking about, stop trying to be an expert with anecdotal evidence . I've been framing it as a risk not a commonality. It's not under researched at all, there are like hundreds of meta-studies lmao, the science is unequivocal. Stoners and sceptics just refuse to understand the risks and will deny reality because they are closed minded and don't want their bubble burst |
BAT
08.31.26 | i honestly do feel like stoner culture has minimalized negative effects in the name of fun, but yeah my takes come from growing up with it/everyone around me using it/writing papers on it in college/etc. i wouldn't recommend taking my word as sacrosanct though, there's a risk of harm and one should evaluate themselves before going down that rabithole. if there's something i'd list as a negative in my life iss my smoking so young most likely had an effect on the development of my brain, but once again there's still decades of research to be done to figure out exactly what. the brain is like the most unpredictable category of health.
and as i've previously stated : i'm comfy standing by my takes, it's just what i've done with the information provided to me and i think your ai result is fairly inline with my informal thoughts on a sputnik thread. never claimed to be an expert, i'm sure some pro-weed science major somewhere would be willing to debate your points. once again i just feel likee your talking black&white in a field that's technicolor. i don't think either of us are capable of knowing for sure, but we've heard different and that's fine
**and for the record substance induced psychosis is a thing and weed is definitely an established agent, i'm not disagreeing there i just think there's more context at play with full on life changing mental disorders. |

08.31.26 | and yeah dude, ive always heard & believed that weed doesnt create psychosis but can surface extant trauma or whatever. but man my childhood was fine certainly had no traumatic experiences, and then one day after like 5 years of occasionally getting high with no issue that switch flipped and ever since then even a lil puff makes me feel like im in the trenches at verdun. maybe its like a congenital thing |
Sharenge
08.31.26 | maybe you are in the trenches at verdun |

08.31.26 | @budgie there was recently a case in Sweden where a man got a psychosis from weed and raped his daughter out of nowhere. Absolutely awful stuff. So yeah it can definitely happen but it's very rare and only if it's in your genetics. I've gotten so high sometimes that it has almost felt like it tbh ngl |
Eakflanderyof
08.31.26 | I could definitely see how it could give people psychotic episodes. I've never had that but i can definitely feel anxious/paranoid if i dont occupy my mind with something when im stoned |

08.31.26 | Just posting in here to wish you luck in your recovery. You’ve done it before and you can do it again.
Also fwiw I’ve heard that THC is addictive in many individuals, though not as common. It might just be that it for you, and that will make things harder. Haha at least that’s what the Kurzgesagt video taught me
Take it easy on yourself, wish you the best. |
Eakflanderyof
08.31.26 | Yeah there is no one way weed effects people. It all depends on brain chemistry |
RadioSuicide
08.31.26 | Smoked weed all day everyday for well over a decade until I woke up 3 days in a row with panic attacks so bad that I would vomit heavily. I quit for 7 months and now have a much more stable relationship with it, largely just partaking after a long shift or when I’m out partying. It was, at least for me, a major hindrance to my self-development and ambition, and I certainly don’t think it’s for everyone |
smaugman
08.31.26 | Seems like many people who «turn against» weed are also the ones who smoke all day and letting it control their lives.
And bubba im sure most smokers are well aware of the risks, and accept them, just like any other substance.
@budge, that is really early. I started at 23 myself |

08.31.26 | I only ever smoked in the evening after work and only about 1/3rd of a joint, yet that still had noticeably detrimental effects on my life. Like Eakflanderyof said it all depends on brain chemistry. I am super happy for people who are able to maintain a healthy relationship with it that doesn’t intrude on their lives. I wish I could be like that. My brain has always been an extremely fragile ecosystem, even an hour of lost sleep can be the difference between me feeling on top of the world or straight up suicidal lol. |

08.31.26 | its this new corpo gen Z ass weed. dabs, carts, GMO 99% THC blueberry whatever the fuck. nobody was smoking the mexican brick weed we had in high school and sitting around thinking "im a loser! im pathetic! kill me aaaaa"
i pretty much just keep weed around to end a night of drinking, if im not drinking i dont even want it. i think the last time i enjoyed JUST getting stoned was like, 2018 |
artificialbox
08.31.26 | honestly I fuckin miss the days when picking up weed meant hopping in the back of some creepy old dude’s Honda Civic in a mall parking lot and getting a nondescript sandwich baggie of whatever he had in stock. no choices, just kush. |
sonictheplumber
08.31.26 | also i think part of why gen z cant get laid or leave the house is this shit making them even more neurotic. like you hear about "oh people are scared to be filmed in public and put on tiktok" and frankly that sounds like a thought you should only have if youve eaten too many gummies |
smaugman
08.31.26 | I never understood that. Who goes around being scared of being film? I dont think genz anxiety stems from that, but rather a lot of other factors like far less human face to face interaction |
artificialbox
08.31.26 | I think there is a valid conversation to be had about how living in this age of mass surveillance and call out culture is making people more hyper aware than ever before of how they are being perceived by the public, but if you’re scared of being filmed then idk, maybe you’re doing something you shouldn’t be. |

08.31.26 | @smaugman, perso it was always just a weekend warrior party thing for me, i never smoked daily even when it was enjoyable. wasnt like obsessed with it like a lot of stereotypical california stoners
i think my pet theory is before i was 18/19 while there were things i worried about it wasnt that big of a deal, being a kid you are not responsible for so much and its easier to put off worrying for future you. but once an adult, all the sudden you have a lot of agency so all the worrying becomes more urgent, impossible to trick yourself into putting it off. it's like... if you're watching a horror movie, guy running from the alien or whatever idk, it's kinda stressful as a viewer but you're not in control.
if you're playing a horror game, you're in control of the guy running from the alien and there's a whole new level of panic because you have the agency right |

08.31.26 | @articial bro i am so fucking happy i dont have to bother with those sketchy adventures anymore. was pulled over and had a baggie of coke IN one of the slots of my wallet that i had to take out to show him my license. FUCKING not chill lmao

08.31.26 | I remember after I lost my jobs and friends I crashed hard into the weed when I had to move back in with my friend. It got old by about year 2 and I didnt stop until year 6. It didnt help that my partner smoked and we didnt function best when we were high together. We've since split but now she's halfway to her bachelor's and im still working a minimum wage job. Weed really does kill you on the inside and ive had to lose even more friends because we all smoked. I stopped taking my Adderall because my pcd says weed causes schizophrenia (which is partly true but he was also a Mormon freak so I think he was just pushing people to conform to what he wanted) and I just stopped doing anything short of going to shows. I do like music a lot more now that ive stopped smoking though so theres always positives to quitting. Keep it up because im sure so many are going through what you are and you are better off not smoking. |
ConcubinaryCode

Lmao i had a brief time in my life where i was doing a bit of coke for a few months but fortunately i had a wakeup call a few months into that before it got out of hand.
Anyway, the closest ive come to that was accidentally pulling a bag of weed out in front of a walmart employee checking receipts. i forgot it was in my pocket and i went to quickly snatch the receipt from my pocket but came up with a bag of flower 😂 |

09.01.26 | My only embarassing public incident was a group of us were at a bar we were regulars at and one of the guys had a hook up. He basically got everyone's order and made the call, and it was probably 5 or 6 of us each asked for a gram. So this guy goes out back to get it, comes back to the back patio we're on and goes "you get a gram, you get a gram" trying to be funny, except when he slapped mine in my hand he missed and it fell to the ground in front of everyone. I turned to a friend and said we should probably leave now that the whole bar probably saw that. |

High potency thc is no joke but it's definitely still not even in the same ballpark as something like heroin or coke. Weed isnt gonna make most people start shoplifting, sucking cock, or stealing their kids piggy bank money |
AlkemestRedux
09.02.26 | That's true, but the amount of psychic torment dabs have caused me was probably 1000x that of any of the times I've done heroin or coke, even if those are objectively much more life-destroying. |

09.03.26 | heroin doesnt make you feel like god necessarily but it does like completely remove your capacity to feel worry or shame, so for a lot of people with timid personalities i guess it would feel like a major behavioral improvement. it also makes you feel very hopeful, like no matter what everything is going to work out in the end. i think that's the most seductive and dangerous effect
meth does make you feel like god though, and in a lot of areas it is like a huge performance enhancing drug. i mean everyone knows its easier to cram for an exam or organize your garage lol, or write code or whatever on adderall, just take that to the next level. for me it was learning, playing, writing guitar lines for like 10 hours straight and then a fuckton of liquor to temper the miserable 30-hour-long comedown |
