The Terminator VS Terminator 2: Judgment Day

The best sci fi thriller or the best sci fi action movie? Which do you think is better?
1Brad Fiedel
The Terminator

One of the best 80’s movies ever made. Michael Biehn and Linda Hamilton are absolutely magnetic and their chemistry is perfect. Not to mention Arnie, who is absolutely terrifying and turns this into a borderline horror. Lance Henriksen and the late Earl Boen and Paul Winfield are all great in their supporting roles.

Also shoutout to Matt for surviving like a minute against the T-800. Homeboy was a tank.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day

The Aliens to The Terminator’s Alien. Action packed, a newer tougher enemy (side note, Robert Patrick is a phenomenal actor. He’s even more deadly and ruthless than the T-800, and then he’s an enormous pussy and a mark in The Sopranos. Dude has a lot of range.), an older, much tougher and jaded Sarah Connor, which again Linda Hamilton absolutely crushes it, and flipping the script and making the T-800 the protector, which was such a brilliant decision. Edward Furlong gets a little too much hate, he can be annoying at times but he’s a fucking kid, and a really competent one at that. There’s a lot more humor in this one too, and I also love the director’s cut scene of Sarah nearly smashing the T-800’s GPU, and the Kyle Reese dream sequence, though I don’t particularly care for the corny smile scene.
