Hidden Gems of 2019
Nobody talked about these albums, I say give 'em a shot. |
1 | | Kairos Queen of the Hill
Y’all ever heard of Kairos? Yeah, me neither. That really is a shame however, because this album slaps some serious asscheeks. |
2 | | Eclipse (SWE) Paradigm
Catchiest thing I’ve heard all year. If you’d like some AOR in your metal, you really can’t go wrong with this one. |
3 | | Twisted Tower Dire Wars in the Unknown
This bad boy right here is chock-full of tasty ass jams. A complete smorgasbord. |
4 | | Riot City Burn the Night
Burn the Night is a top to bottom barn-burner. ‘Warrior of Time’ will put some hair on your nuts for sure. |
5 | | Skelator Cyber Metal
This band is completely comprised of dweebs, and that isn't a bad thing. Delightfully cheesy in the best way. |
6 | | Lugnet Nightwalker
Nightwalker is a solid block of quality grimy 70’s style hard rock. ‘Die For You’ is one of the best songs I’ve heard all year. |
7 | | Diamond Head The Coffin Train
Man, I simply don’t understand why people aren’t digging this. I love classic Diamond Head as much as the next guy, but this thing is just fantastic from top to bottom. |
8 | | Vulture (DE) Ghastly Waves & Battered Graves
Exciter would be proud; Vulture fucks. |
9 | | Grim Reaper At The Gates
I was pleasantly surprised by how good this was. Grim Reaper was really given a raw deal in the 80’s, so it makes me happy to see them putting out new music. 'Rock You To Hell' is their best record, but this one is damn good too. Give this one a shot if you're interested. |
10 | | Lunar Shadow The Smokeless Fires
I felt sophisticated as fuck while listening to this, quite possibly the classiest metal album I've ever heard. Pour yourself a glass of wine, break out the pipe in front of the fireplace, and give this one a shot. |
