All We Know Is Falling
Just a classic. There is something so pure about this album; the songs are simple, the arrangements are bare, but the compositions are superbly effective at conveying maximum emotion and hooks that you will never forget. An album that would go on to define a generation. I imagine people who don't love this album also hate puppies and ice cream. | | 2 |  | Paramore
Brand New Eyes

This Is Why
Definitely a grower but I think it's their most organic and nuanced sounding album. I love how it feels like a direct counterpart to After Laughter, maintaining the new wave influence but with a moodier and more tense approach that harkens back to their earlier material. They really zoned in on the textural aspects of their arrangements too. and Hayley just sounds amazing on this record, her voice sounds less polished and pitch corrected than usual which really lets the more rich characteristics of her voice shine through. | | 4 |  | Paramore
After Laughter
It took me a while to love this album because its tropical new wave aesthetic is almost completely antithetical to the rest of their discography, but now I can confidently say it is one of their best. It's their most maximalist album but it is also really consistent across the board. | | 5 |  | Paramore
Riot!
An album that is synonymous with its era but still stands the test of time. Like "Misery Business" will always slap no matter how overplayed it is. Truly a career defining album for them that houses some of their most legendary singles, but it is also the least consistent of their early discography and suffers from some rough production. Paramore
Literally the most confusing transition albums of all time. This is Paramore at their least consistent, just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. Some pretty bad production choices (hate how some of the guitar tones sound) and songs that just don't seem to know what they are trying to be or where they are trying to go. The attempt to tie the tracklist together with those fuckin nevershoutnever ukulele songs also just doesn't work. The best songs on this album are the ones that just sound like After Laughter b-sides. Absolutely baffling that they chose this album to be their self-titled, as if it was really a defining statement or emblematic of their history. Regardless, even Paramore's worst is an album I'll still happily listen to. | |

08.03.26 | Credit for giving a rating I don't think I've ever seen. Not often do people list their debut as their best; I can respect it.
Personally, I'd go: BNE > Riot! > This Is Why > Paramore > AWKIF > After Laughter.
All of them aside from After Laughter are ones I would score positively. | ConorIsNotHere

2 & 4 have the exact same issue where the back half starts to blend into each other. Due a relisten of 4.
6 is slightly underrated here. Its their Red with higher highs but lower lows. The middle streak is fantastic
3 leaves a slight sour taste in my mouth. Overly obnoxious at times (looking at you You First)
