rockarollacola 03.18.22	I basically only released this list to prove that I'm not a total fanboy for hair metal, and actually have the ability to dislike some of the music from the genre. If you guys dig some of the shit on here, more power to ya. This was basically a one off, so I'll be back next March with more actual recommendations.
Dewinged 03.18.22	A lot of the hair metal that sucks was born during the last years of the genre when grunge was taking over and clone bands were still trying to cash off the spoils of the first half of the 80s, but before that there was a lot of good stuff around. Poison did suck on their first album, but Open Up... onwards they got much better, and they more or less gracefully transitioned to blues rock. As for Bon Jovi, well you know how it worked out for him, the man could have retired decades ago and still bath in champagne until his last days.

SitarHero 03.18.22	Poison and Bon Jovi are fun lightweight pop rock, nothing more nothing less, and not nearly deserving of the hate they get, even if Bon Jovi is waaaaaay overplayed. Also, apart from the fact that GNR Lies is barely even a real album, the band isn't a hair metal band any more than Aerosmith is a hair metal band. Imagine putting them on this list and leaving off NITRO lol.

JKing92 03.18.22	I am unashamed to admit that I love the first GNR album. Everything else that I've heard, though... yeah, not good. "Hogwash" is an accurate description.
ReturnToRock 03.18.22	1, 2 and 6 are genuinely good albums. 4 is not really glam at all, aside from the band photos (and plenty of metal bands in the 80s struck glammed-up poses.) The cuts I've heard from it are more along the lines of heavy/speed/thrash metal. 5 is not even their worst album - Animalize, Music From The Elder and especially Carnival of Souls are all SO much worse.

I kinda like a few songs on Animalize, but you're totally right about Hot in the Shade not being their worst album. That title goes to Carnival of Souls.

Uriah Heep overall isn't hair metal, but their late 80's output most certainly was. Also, Pantera did progress stylistically, but I seriously can't listen to any of the pseudo-BRUTAL edge lord dogshit they released after VDOP. Power Metal and Cowboys from Hell are the only two albums by them that I actually like.
