Take the worst of tame impala, foster the people and twenty one pilots, mix it and you got imagine dragos. it's 2017, not 2011. imagine dragons hasn't been indie in any sense for almost 7 years. and even then, their brand of indie was nothing like tame impala. coldplay comparisons work much better. definitely also influenced by muse.

Yeah, these guys are nothing close to indie now. Even calling them that when they first came out is a bit of a stretch, honestly

it makes their blatant lack of life and energy a fucking slog to get through
I thought you claimed the opposite, that this was overproduced and overburdened with meaningless effects?
regardless, this band is too much of a dull affair anyway to be worth reviewing and analyzing seriously. I still enjoyed your points about the cynicism of sellouts though!

"I thought you claimed the opposite, that this was overproduced and overburdened with meaningless effects?"
Lol, I think both claims were true honestly

"Literally, why do you guys listen to albums you know you're going hate?"
I mean, you can't really participate in a discussion about an album or claim that it's shitty without having listened to it, can you?

"Basically, my criteria for these types of bands is: don’t bullshit us by acting deep when you’re not actually deep."

I don't know how we are having an ethical debate over an Imagine Dragons album. The fact is Imagine Dragons combined Muse with Coldplay and produced a sound that fills the generic need for an eclectic band. Imagine Dragons was never considered indie. Not only because they displayed no indie rock qualities, but because Imagine Dragons never aimed their music at a niche of people. Creating expectations for Imagine Dragons is like expecting Nickelback or Coldplay to produce magic in a bottle.

Yeah, except for the fact that the new Nickelback album was somehow a thousand times better then this. lol
