  • hal1ax yea agreed. they've both been good sports throughout it though. and i enjoy how they both admit to ambiguity in their outlooks... like zizek doesn't glorify the chinese economic paradigm nor does JP acclaim the free market with open arms.. but yea back to your point, i think JP did prepare, but in the wrong way. i think he figured zizek would have more of a pro-collectivism argument rather than a sort of nebulous, patchwork of abstract ideas laced with excoriations of capitalism

  • hal1ax nice yea i'm about 35min into it rn. jp seems so nervous lol.. his opening monologue really was kind of jagged and full of redundancies and myopic takes... idk i think zizek has just been immersed in the political philosophy landscape for so much longer than JP and it's already showing. JP is more in his element in religious and psycho-socio-cultural topics... like he only really cited passages from the communist manifesto which isn't even meant to be a fulsome take on marx' theories..
