Yeah it has Lou Reed, Sting, and John C. Reiley twice on it, but man this is boring once the

Tried this twice and my biggest gripe is that despite the aesthetic being perfect, there's like 0 songwriting on most of
these songs. "T.V. as Eyes" is about all I can take away from this. The way it ends abruptly is a bummer too. Not for me,
but I respect some of the ideas here A LOT. If you like structureless industrial-tinged post-punk, this is for you. |

How the fuck is a funk album featuring Bootsy Collins on 4 tracks so boring with the bass?
Oh, cuz they didn't ask Bootsy to do the bass. Apparently, Bootsy Collins is just a meme for
his voice now.
The rest of this is just Bruno's typical R&B style with some nostalgia disco thrown in.
Seriously, what's so special about this? Bland lyrics, boring predictable grooves, and a
weirdly short run time. Yet it has a higher average than D'Angelo's Black Messiah? I can't
help but to hate this.
Fine, it's not awful. A 2.5/5 works. 5/5 for marketing though, this was advertised as

The Good: "Two Trucks" is brilliant. It's a super silly and musically catchy song that uses the
absurd idea of truck sex to goof on American masculinity. Obviously "BRODYQUEST" rules. It's
very simple, but it manages to work as a silly robotic dance jam. Finally, "A Mask of My Own Face"
is super interesting with its themes of escapism, even if musically it's kinda forgettable.
The Okay: "Really Cool Wig" is about Neil dreaming he's awesome because of some wig and he
makes out with Mos Def or something. "Jaws" legit just poorly explains the plot to Jaws and reads
like fan fiction. Both songs had one line in them that made me smile, but that's pretty bad for
what's supposed to be comedy music. In contrast, "My Trains" was musically engaging, but
lyrically felt super try-hard.
The Bad: "Everybody Loves Raymond" and the bonus track "Goosebumps." Both were just lists of
shoehorned references to sitcom names and Goosebumps book titles. Listing pop culture
references and not doing anything else with them really is annoying. Oh yeah, the other bonus
track "Sexy DVD" felt like a pointless interlude, so yeah that one sucks too.
This has like 2 1/2 goods songs on a 7 song EP (9 if you count the bonus tracks.) |

"Dreamer", "You and I", and "Farewell My Friend" were the best on here. The album was very
depressing and it set that mood very effectively. Though honestly, I had some problems with it. The
flow was awkward (some transitions made absolutely no sense in a distracting way) and most of the
tracks on here just reminded me of generic 70s radio rock. None of the individual tracks on here were
bad by themselves, but this is definitely not my kind of thing as a whole. |

All of the 7+ minute long songs overstayed their welcome by at least 3 minutes. As for the shorter
songs, they failed to leave any impression at all. Not to mention that the singer's voice lacked any
conviction or passion. Even when when he screamed, his voice remained oddly tame. Is this really
even experimental anyway? It's more like well orchestrated indie rock that's all over the place without
reaching any actual destination. So much is going on, but none of it is really all that unique or
interesting. A 2/5 makes the most sense here. |

This however is incredibly uninspired and forgettable. "Girl Help Me" is the only song that's even
worth a listen honestly. No wonder it took them decades to officially release this, no one cared
enough about it. Maybe it's called R.I.P. because it would have killed their career if it was released
back in 1969. |

Kind of like a compilation that has remixes of songs from Horse Rotorvator, but also plenty of originals. It's far weirder than both Scatology and Horse Rotorvator and more instrumental as well (only 2 songs on the entire album have consistent lyrics.) Great ideas coupled with headache inducing production and repetitiveness make this a huge waste of potential. "Drinking Out of Cups" is obviously classic, "Thats a Nice Shirt (Dad)", "I'm So Gay with the Boner", and "I Have AIDS" are pretty fun and hilarious, and "Aw Ah Ah Ah (Party Cakes)" is somehow leagues above the rest of the highlights to point where I'd say it's perfect. However, everything else on here makes me feel like taking some ibuprofen. Also fuck the track that was just an annoying glitchy Aerosmith sampling, I want my 5 1/2 minutes back from that one. |

Pretty cool for pre-Nirvana Kurt Cobain. The sound quality isn't the best though. If only Cobain made more of
these songs into well produced Nirvana tracks. "Spank Thru", "Downer", and "Anorexorcist" were rerecorded
luckily. |

I really appreciate the little short tracks on here. They're really fun, have great riffs, are keep the album
from being too dense. Oh, and "For Your Life" is perfect. The fact the albums shifts between short
fun songs and long epic songs is why I value it as so strong. It makes the album a roller coaster of
dynamics without overindulging too much. The worst song on here, "Nobody's Fault but Mine", is still
a thrilling epic that helps hold it all together. The only albums that are more solid than this are Physical
Graffiti and Houses of the Holy. Well at least I think so... |

This is one of his best jazz-fusion albums, only second to Hot Rats. "Cletus Awreetus-Awrightus" and "Blessed
Relief" are basically perfect. I love how Zappa can jump from making a jazz album like this to a rock-satire
album like Over-Nite Sensation. He can do it all! |
