Though not superior to the legendary avant-grade milestones "In a Silent Way" or "Bitches Brew" I would say this is the third best that Miles has to offer, I'd prefer it over "A Tribute to Jack Johnson" and even "Kind of Blue" any day; the spanish influence is one of the most unique and interesting things that Miles has ever done, the song structures that shape around a quiet/loud, quiet/loud atmospheric formula are far more intriguing than some other overrated Davis works. Though albums like "Kind of Blue" and "Miles Ahead" may be more important to the genre, the arrangements and style on this record are impeccable and are superior to me.
