5.0 classic
Black Sabbath Paranoid
blink-182 Take Off Your Pants And Jacket
Death Cab for Cutie Transatlanticism
EXCELLENT! Without doubt, my favorite DCFC release
In Flames Clayman
Megadeth Rust in Peace
For someone who mainly listens to hardcore bands like Gravemaker and Comeback Kid now, this album is still a classic to me. It has staying power for a number of reasons. Excellent guitar playing, original vocal style (even if it is a negative at times), and songs about original things (AKA Lucretia, witch in Dave's attic, and Hangar 18, Alien Base)
Metallica Master of Puppets
Metallica ...And Justice for All
Modern Life Is War Witness
Weezer Weezer

4.5 superb
Alkaline Trio Maybe I'll Catch Fire

Death Cab for Cutie Plans
Devo Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!
Every Time I Die Gutter Phenomenon
Every Time I Die Hot Damn!
Now while I would say this album is a classic for any hardcore fan, some songs do bore me from time to time. However, compared to most hardcore cds, this album is a masterpiece from start to finish. It is lyrically superior to almost any hardcore band and also a gem for finding a good balance between intelligent, catchy hooks and heavy, varied breakdowns.

Unearth The Oncoming Storm
Besides a few songs on this cd, this album is a classic and I'm not afraid to say it. The songs all have a unique aspect to them and vocals are the only part to Unearth that seem to be nothing special. However, this release is definitely a must for any metalcore fan. The Oncoming Storm has decent lyrics, occasional solos, spectacular song dynamics and the ability to not sound generic. Many contend that metalcore is too formulaic, but this album definitely trys to debate that point by having unique breakdowns and songs typically without filler.

4.0 excellent
AJJ Christmas Island
Alice in Chains Jar of Flies
Alkaline Trio Crimson
Alkaline Trio My Shame Is True
All That Remains This Darkened Heart
The Fall of Ideals is the better overall record, but this album's lack of clean singing and less commercial approach makes it have more varied songwriting in my opinion. The drummer on this record pales in comparison to the one on The Fall of Ideals, as well.
American Nightmare Background Music
Amy Winehouse Back to Black

Another Breath The God Complex
Anthrax Spreading the Disease
Bane Don't Wait Up
Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Bright Eyes I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
Casey Jones The Few, The Proud, The Crucial
I still don't know which cd I like more, this or The Messenger. Either way, this cd impresses me throughout. Fun lyrics about friendship, tough guys, drug use, and many other great topics. The Family Guy sound clips definitely add in an extra bit of humor too. I may possibly review this in-depth later. One of my favorite edge cds by far

Champion Promises Kept
Childish Gambino "Awaken, My Love!"
Comeback Kid Wake the Dead
Comeback Kid Turn It Around
Conor Oberst Ruminations
Death Bells Standing at the Edge of the World
Down To Nothing All My Sons
Endwell Consequences
For what it is, this album is phenomenal. Angry and in-your-face lyrics coupled with catchy guitar hooks and pummeling drums. I was astounded from hearing this album, especially noting their prior work. I wouldn't classify this as metalcore though. More or less, this album is straight and heavy hardcore with occasional metal noodlings.

Johnny Cash American IV: The Man Comes Around
This album is my favorite from Johnny Cash's later career. Although they're covers, each song has its own unique touch and it's very emotionally heavy. His voice may be strained at times, but that's something to expect for a person his age still writing music.

Even though I'm typically cemented in hardcore, I cannot rag on this cd. It has catchy guitar riffs, quick and fun guitar solos, gang vocals (No Reason), breakdowns (I'm Not The One) and countless other aspects that keep this cd fresh and new. It's still one of my favorite pop-punk releases because it implements the best parts to other genres and does not come off as cheesy. The lyrics are nothing spectacular, but who cares? I know I most certainly don't

Not my favorite With Honor, but still a solid release from a great hardcore band. RIP

3.5 great
Above This Fire In Perspective
The only problem I have with this album is Above This Fire never stepping outside their comfort zone and unintentionally crafting an average release due to that. While I love so many songs on this cd, none go beyond standard metalcore formulas and therefore it doesn't have lasting appeal besides a few tracks. That being said, I still love this cd and recommend it to anyone who enjoys hardcore or metal-influenced hardcore. Favorite Tracks: When Screams Go Silent, Designing A Requiem, Reaction, and Miles Apart
Against Me! Searching for a Former Clarity
Against Me! White Crosses
Alexisonfire Watch Out!
Alexisonfire Crisis
Alterbeast Immortal
American Nightmare We're Down Til We're Underground
Backtrack Darker Half
Banner Pilot Souvenir
Between the Buried and Me Alaska
Between the Buried and Me Colors
Bleachers Strange Desire
Bleachers Terrible Thrills Vol. 2
Some of the covers are great and make the song better than the original while others do the exact opposite. Those things taken into account, I rate it the same as the original album
blink-182 Enema Of The State
I had this cd taken away from me by my parents when it first came out. So, besides the typical immature lyrics of blink-182, this album is one of my favorites and just wish all ages could enjoy their fun and poppy songwriting skills.
Blood Ceremony Lord of Misrule
Blood for Blood Serenity
Blood Has Been Shed Spirals
I was initially going to rate this lower, but then I realized how heavy and original it is compared to Killswitch Engage. Any fan of heavy music should check this out, I was pleasantly surprised. It may not blow you away, but is a nice addition to someone's music collection
Break Away Face Aggression
Casey Jones The Messenger
I agree completely with this review. Solid production and fun, new way to look at straight-edge hardcore. The only negative being somewhat similar song structure, though this is not noticed if you listen close enough
Cruel Hand Prying Eyes
Dead End Path Blind Faith
Death Cab for Cutie The Photo Album
Deez Nuts Rep Your Hood
A lot better than most hardcore bands coming out nowadays. It is definitely NOTHING GROUNDBREAKING; however, it does have a lot of catchy parts to it and I love the old-school vibe it has. Unfortunately, the high-school lyrics take it a notch down and make me rate it lower than the band could achieve. If you can look at it from a joke hardcore band-with-musicianship standpoint, you will not be disappointed

My Bitter End The Renovation
Compared to most deathcore, this album is outstanding. It blends melody into something so heavy and chaotic. In my opinion, it is a breath of fresh air in a genre so stale with typical riffs and breakdowns. Example: As Blood Runs Black
New Found Glory Resurrection
Off With Their Heads From the Bottom
Pantera Cowboys from Hell
Power Trip Armageddon Blues
Pretty Lights A Color Map of The Sun
PUP PUP
Reign Supreme American Violence
Remembering Never God Save Us
Definitely my favorite Remembering Never release. Like the review states, the album is very focused musically and relies on heart and conviction to gain your interest. Although this band does generously use breakdowns, I would contend that they are much more than that. When I listen to this cd, I hear lyrics commenting on various issues and good musicianship from all other members of the band, something not common among many "scene" bands today.
Sick of It All Based on a True Story
Stars The North
STRFKR Being No One, Going Nowhere
Take Offense Tables Will Turn
Taking Back Sunday Tell All Your Friends
Teen Daze Themes For Dying Earth
Tegan and Sara Love You to Death
Not as good as Heartthrob, but there's still quite a few catchy synth-pop tunes in the same style as their previous album

This is a great album to introduce someone to metalcore with, but it's also the same album that led ATR down the dark path of arena metal. I can't believe how much this band has changed.

Donnybrook! Lions In This Game
Don't get me wrong, this cd has amazing songs like "Down For The Core" and "Ream Em And Weep". However, some songs don't get me interested no matter how much I try and like them. Therefore, I unfortunately only give this cd a Good rating to avoid praising every single hardcore act that isn't "scene".

While I love or loved this band for a very short intense period, I can't bring myself to rate this any higher than a 3. It is definitely a GOOD cd; however, there are quite a few cons such as poor production and simplistic redundance. I love songs like Burn This City(Intro), Nowhere To Run, Thirteen, This Is Real, etc, but still recognize this band's flaws and place them where they should be. Right in the middle. Not mediocre, not classic. Just GOOD

Although I do agree with some reviewers that this release has many formulaic moments, they definitely make up for it by lyrics that are atypical for hardcore (for the most part). Especially for a debut release, this band has a lot of potential and can definitely rise to greatness considering the current state of hardcore. Major acts like Have Heart are calling it quits and the metalcore fad is slowly dying, bands like this have a chance to become heavy-hitters in this genre.

A Day To Remember Homesick
Definitely not as bad as the review makes it out to be. However, this album has absolutely no staying power or lyrical depth whatsoever. It's nice for a flavor of the moment but won't last compared to other music on your mp3 player. For the genre, it's another one for the "scene" kids to cherish forever...or until they get over their "hardcore" phase

I legitimately didn't mind this at first, but it lacks substance (even though this sect of hardcore isn't known for that trait). I barely ever come back to this album and can't remember anything memorable from it even though I listened to it fully a number of times.

Call me crazy, but I actually use to like Emmure. Now though, I leave halfway through their set and only stay for the first half to see if they are beaten up onstage. It is definitely safe to say this band is the worst in hardcore right now. The Respect Issue was bad, but this isn't even funny how bad it is. Ten thumbs down
Inked in Blood Sometimes We Are Beautiful
Inked in Blood Inked in Blood
Ligeia Bad News
I'm going to have to politely disagree with most of these reviews. While Your Ghost Is A Gift has contrived violent lyrics towards women, songs like The Blackout are practically metalcore classics for me. On the other hand, Bad News has many more catchy and fun hardcore songs, but as said before, gets old very quickly. The lyrical topics can get childish at times such as "Bitch, youz a hoe" and songs never really stood out for me. To each his own I guess, but I'd have to say that if your into hardcore at all, do not get this cd.
