Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Defeater Lost Ground
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada
ISIS Panopticon
The sheer power, beauty, and majesty of this work of art put into stark contrast the blandness and mediocrity of the rest of the world, making me almost feel as though it ain't worth living in it. At the same time, every single massive buildup is so powerful that it makes me appreciate every single one of life's little miracles that I witness every day, and life itself. I swear to God (this music proves to me that He exists) that In Fiction changed my life. Thank you Isis for creating this album and introducing me to the genre as a whole, although nothing will ever top this.

only Meshuggah could pull off 21 straight minutes of fucking chaos and make it good.

Forest Like a Blaze Above the Ashes
Forge of Clouds Forge of Clouds
it might not be a game-changer, and it has a derivative feel at times, but Forge of Cloud's debut combines everything that we love about Neurosis & Co. with a heaping tablespoon of faster-paced hardcore-esque influences to create a rare post-metal album that doesn't overstay its welcome.

Hypomanie A City In Mono
like brandon said this is really more shoegaze/post-rock with strong bm influences than it is pure black metal but i obviously liked it a lot more. it manages to be beautifully desolate and refreshingly clean and a whole bunch of other things at once. the chillest bm this side of Cold Body Radiation.

After the Burial In Dreams
They sound extra Meshuggahtastic, and the vocalist is thousands of times better than he was on the Rareform rerelease. This album is full of win. However, unlike Rareform, it doesn't have a single exceptional song.
Alaskan Adversity; Woe
All Shall Perish This Is Where It Ends
there's nothing really unique here, but that doesn't mean that this isn't a ridiculously fun listen. there's also an abundance of Meshuggah influence here that was not present on previous albums.
