Adrianne Lenker Songs
Aphex Twin Drukqs
Im floored. Random amount of noises makes for such a masterpiece in ambiance and production. And it keeps getting better every time I think about it.
Bill Evans The Complete Live at the Village Vanguard 1961
Village Vanguard casually strolling, being the best live album of all time.
Bob Dylan Blood on the Tracks
Girls who say that Taylor Swift has written the best breakup songs ever clearly haven?t heard this album. It?s always been my favorite Dylan project, because I feel like it?s him at his most personal. After a time where critics and fans were quite critical of Dylan, and a divorce with his wife, he made the greatest comeback album of all time. He?s so emotive and his lyricism is so on point. It?s the kinda album to show Dylan haters, to prove them wrong. It has one of my favorite lines in any song ever: She was born in spring, but I was born too late, blame it on a simple twist of fate. Whereas Highway 61 was great, it doesn?t hit me in the feels the way Blood On The Tracks. It?s the greatest singer/songwriter making the greatest singer/songwriter album of all time.
David Bowie Blackstar
3 months ago me heard 3 tracks from it and didn't get it, today me thinks this is one of the best albums of the decade and probably of all time
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
This album is a fucking trip. I can't really describe it with words, it's more an experience than something you criticize. It's amazing all the way through, totally worth the 1:30 runtime. They always surprise you with otherworldly production and some chill-inducing melodies. It's beautiful, it's haunting, it's everything an album should strive to be.
Kendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city
In my opinion, the finest rap project ever made. Storytelling that I deem oscar-worthy, some absolute jams, lyrically so powerful. Everything I love in rap condensed in one hell of a masterpiece.
Koji Kondo The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time OST
This is my favorite game of all time. So it?s hard to not be biased while talking about this record. But hell, I?m not gonna lie to you, it?s one of my favorite musical things ever. No collection of songs evoke the sense of adventure as this one. Filled with so many different emotions. The songs go from mysterious and inviting, like all of the temple songs, to comforting, like Lon Lon Ranch or Kakariko Village. Kondo took some fairly simple loops, but managed to give them so much more. And it?s crazy how an album with more than 80 1 minute songs, has this much replay value. With the other soundtracks on this list, I was able to very well separate the music from the movie or film, but this just made me wanna replay the game so much. And upon revisiting this soundtrack, I realized that it?s probably a very big reason as to why I love the game so much. It?s perfect and so memorable.
Ludovico Einaudi In a Time Lapse
My father took me to see him live when I was 11 on a school night, I remember not sleeping in the car, even though it was 1 AM because what I just experienced was incredible. The mix of awesome songs, plus incredible acoustic in the room we were in, made this the best nights of my life. Just goes to show how unbelievable this album is. It is to me, the culmination of music in every way. Every song is amazing, whether it be the raw intensity of Run, the peaceful Life, the haunting, hypnotizing nightmare that is Newton's Cradle, the tranquil melancholy of Waterways, the unstoppable courage that emanes from Experience, or the glorious, beautiful symphony of Burning.rNot only does this album feel insanely meaningful to me, I honestly think an achievement like this will ever be repeated.
Nujabes Luv(sic) Hexalogy
I think this is Hip-Hop's greatest achievement. On every level, this thing is a masterpiece.
Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon
The best album of all time. Nothing will ever come near it.
Pink Floyd The Wall
The most overwhelming, overstacked Pink Floyd, which is probably why I believe it's an album that will just get better for me every single time. As a first listen tho, it is certainly as good as the level of quality Pink Floyd has made us used to from their 3 previous albums. But for now, the sheer amount of content in this album is just a little much for me. I'm sure that over time and with the movie, I will grow to adore this one.
Pyotr Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 in B♭ Minor, Op. 23
When talking of Tchaikovsky, this one is not the first piece we think about. I think he?s most famous for his ballets, with Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, but in the end, I think the Concerto is his best work. The elegancy of the piano and those thundering strings go so well together to form a melancholic masterpiece. The subtlety works so well, creating harmonies that are out of this world. It?s a 40 minute 3 part-piece of true mastery and for sure one of the best classical pieces of all time. Each part adds to the whole without substracting from the other to form this masterpiece switching easily from soft to grandiose, no part is better than the other and that?s a testament to truly great art.
Radiohead In Rainbows
Insane space depressive rock album that Radiohead has clearly mastered at this point
Radiohead Kid A
I don't think any album opened better than the first notes of Everything In Its Right Place. That descending arpeggio is magnificent and never gets old. It's not necessarily the best opening song of an album (I think it is), but it's the best opening notes.
Sergei Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18
It feels weird to call this underrated but I will. Rachmaninoff??s second concerto is underrated, not because it?s better than most people would think. It?s a 100 year old piece that has well stood the test of time. It?s underrated in the way that I don?t think it gets the respect it deserves. Because to stand amongst, Bach, Beethoven and Mozart, you better compose a good ass track, and that he did. To the point where it?s difficult to express with words. It doesn?t have one instantly iconic theme that everyone knows. It?s intricate, beautiful and rewarding. I feel like not playing this all the way through would be a disservice to the piece. It?s an amazing piece of music and definitely among my favorite piano pieces of all time.r
Sweet Trip Velocity : Design : Comfort
I'm trying my hardest but I can't come up with anything bad to say about this record. It's fucking perfect.
The Antlers Hospice
Incredible concept, very well executed. It's the type of album that takes a lot of time to fully grasp, but for those who make the effort, they get rewarded with this becoming one of their favorite albums of all time. A monumental achievement.
The Cure Disintegration
It took me something like 5 listens to finally get it, but now that I do, HOLY rGODDAMNrFUCKrThis destroyed me.
The Cure Pornography
The fact that The Cure can make the happiest music ever in Wish, as well as the saddest music music ever in Disintegration, but also the scariest music ever in Pornography, is simply astounding.
The Flaming Lips Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
Time will tell if this gets better or worse for me, but on the first 1 and a half listens, this is awesome. The concept is good on its own, but the vibe of the album gives it a childlike wonder feel to it, which is something that not a lot of other albums can pull off.
Toby Fox Undertale OST
One of the greatest videogame soundtracks of all time. Easily.
Vangelis Blade Runner Soundtrack
rNot only is this one the best movie soundtracks ever, it also flows incredibly well as a coherent piece of music.. Especially with the rest of the soundtracks on the list, this feels like it was built as an album. The songs flow extremely well, and I was surprised that I didn?t remember some tracks on the album. But I think the film was built that way. The film is so dark and alienating that every piece of music, just feels extremely soothing, and the score on its own manages to make me feel both those emotions. Menacing at some points, pleasant at others. Whether it be the beauty of Love Theme, the eery, calm, and weirdly familiar Memories Of Green, or the intense title track. I love the film a whole lot, and the score adds an incredible edge over some of my other favorites. I feel like even if you don?t watch the film, this album is incredible. It takes you on a trip and perfectly encapsulates a perfect movie.r
Weyes Blood Titanic Rising
It's perfect. I can't stop myself from revisiting it again. I used to think this was 8. I can't believe how stupid I was

4.5 superb
A Tribe Called Quest The Low End Theory
I can't say other rap albums from the 90s have aged as well as this one. Goddamn Phife and Tip are incredible here.
Akira Yamaoka Silent Hill 2
This is an important album on this list for 2 reasons. First, it?s the best rated soundtrack for any show movie or game, which is impressive considering Silent Hill is not the most well known franchise out there. Second, because it?s the only show, movie or game that I have never seen/played. Every other one on this list I have seen. Which put this one in a weird position because my experience wasn?t affected by the game. With that being said, I can definitely see why it?s rated as the best soundtrack ever. The ambiance works very well, it?s beautiful and haunting, which I think goes well with the melancholic vibe of the game. Contrarily to other soundtracks, it works well on its own. Which is hard to do. Since it?s morme ambient and creepy, it?s not something I would revisit a lot, but I really enjoyed the experience.
Aphex Twin Syro
Following Drukqs was impossible, how did they do it so good
Aphex Twin Richard D. James Album
This album is exactly as amazing as its album cover
Arlo Parks Collapsed in Sunbeams
Sublime production and relatable lyrics makes this a wonderful listen
Asian Glow Stalled Flutes, means
BADBADNOTGOOD Talk Memory
Absolutely insane on every level. I'm not the biggest fusion fan, but damn this won me over in the first minute
Beach House Bloom
Dreamgaze masterpiece that Beach House i known to always release at this point.
Beastie Boys Paul's Boutique
Big Thief Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You
I know I only gave it an 8 but it's gonna be a 10 by the end of the year
Black Country, New Road Ants From Up There
Fuck boys, I think we got album of the year, already, goddamn I didn't love their debut, but omg am I head over heels for that one.
Black Midi Hellfire
Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited
At some point in my life, I realized that I loved Bob Dylan way too much and that I wasn?t gonna do anything about it. I honestly want that guy next to me at all times, he?s so smooth, so much fun, I bet he?d make a great uncle. He?s such a fantastic lyricist and the stories he tells are oh so timeless. If you add that to incredibly fun guitar riffs, with the use of harmonicas you get a truly fantastic folk record, I mean, it?s a Dylan record, did you really expect anything else. He?s such a fantastic artist, and even though this isn?t the record I would chose as my top Dylan records, it?s still fantastic all the way through. The fact that Like A Rolling Stone is still remembered today as one of the greatest songs of all time, truly goes to show how timeless and universal, Dylan and this record this.
Bright Eyes Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was
This was my first Bright Eyes album and it was amazing. Stellar songwriting all over the place with original sounds to create some of the best tracks of the year. Stairwell song, persona non grata, comet song, these songs are amazing.
Bruce Springsteen Born to Run
It?s hard to judge albums that have in their tracklist one of the greatest songs ever written. Born To Run is still incredible even 46 years after it was first released. Luckily for us, this album isn?t only the title track. The rest of the album is as amazing and we can still hear its influences to this day. Cause Springsteen really revolutionized what pop-rock would sound like in the years to come, with this record?s heavy use of piano, glockenspiel, and horns. The album?s full of moments that shine by their ingenious instrumentation, whether it be the opening piano line in Thunder Road or in Jungleland, the instrumental break on the title track, or the incredible saxophone solo on Jungleland. Really, you might say that this is the quintessential American album. In the end, you can put this album at any party you want, and you can be damn sure, people are gonna love it.
Camel Mirage
When people say that an album is an epic, that?s what they mean. I love me some prog rock and these guys are amazing. This album?s instrumentation and originality is quite phenomenal, especially at the date of its release. But still today, 70s prog rock in general still sounds so original and this album is not an exception. Mirage takes you on a trip. It?s fresh everytime and definitely among the best prog rock projects ever made. Every new added instrument is always deserved and interesting, the very weird nerdy lyrics are really fun to hear, the third track is about Gandalf from LOTR. It definitely is one of the most fun albums on this list and it?s one that I always come back to.
Candy Claws Ceres And Calypso In The Deep Time
Very weird that this album isnt talked about more, the production is simply divine.
Carly Rae Jepsen Emotion
Let's be honest, pop has never been as good as this. And it was really impressive how much influence this record had. I found myself recognizing bass patterns and production tactics from other pop songs. And of course people stopped caring for her when her best album dropped.
Carly Rae Jepsen Dedicated
This is less good than Emotion, but let's be real, even with that, we still don't deserve a pop star as good as Carly Rae.
Caroline Polachek Pang
I'm forever thankful for this album for giving us So Hot You're Hurting The Feelings. Which deserves to be recognized as the greatest pop song of all time.
cavetown Lemon Boy
Beautiful. Another One of Those Days is one of my favourite tracks of all time. The leadup to the
third chorus is truly beautiful. The mix of every instrument in total harmony make this a glorious
listen.
Charles Mingus The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady
Absolute classic
Charles Mingus Let My Children Hear Music
Charli XCX How I'm Feeling Now
If one artist could get me into hyper pop, it would definitely be Charli. My friend is a fan of that music genre, and I've never gotten into it, but she could make me a fan, with time.
Charli XCX Charli
A true masterpiece of pop. Charli is really writing the blueprints for what pop will sound in the future. The production is immaculate, the features work super well, it's amazing. But I feel like I weirdly don't revisit this as much as I should. It might be one of the best pop records of the last decade, but it's not one of my favorites.
Childish Gambino Because the Internet
It took me a lot of time to get this album, but I think I finally do. The variety of songs and kind of inconsistency works well considering the concept of the album. Sure it has a lot of flaws, but the different strengths demonstrate by Gambino are enough to keep you coming back to it a lot.
Coldplay Parachutes
Great album, very true to the group. The record works really well at having a singular sound to it because at every song that plays, I can visualize the Yellow video clip to any of them and it works
Coldplay Ghost Stories
Ghost Stories, to me is very similar to Muse's The Resistance.rTheir most beautiful, most ambitious and most ambitious project.rThe sheer amount of beauty that emanes from each of these lullabies astounds me. The slow ballads slowly lead you to the climax of the album: A sky full of stars, with a wonderful transition. Then, the emotion sinks in as it ends with O. One of if not the best album closer of all time. Pure unalterated beauty.
Daft Punk Random Access Memories
This is a Gorillaz record, made by Daft Punk. Very true to the group, with some features that take them in a new world musically. Daft Punk easily write their best songs ever. You can't resist the journey that is Giorgio by Moroder and the absolute delight that are Instant Crush and Touch, with some of the best features ever. A truly awesome record.
Daft Punk Discovery
Why does everyone think that this is better than R A M??? I really can't understand it. Discovery's awesome. But I'm more of a RAM fan.
Daft Punk Alive 2007
I dont wanna sound too much like the daft punk fanboy that I am but this might be the greatest live album ever mader
Damien Rice O
In the end of the second to last track. I realized that the album did the genuinely most incredible production detail I had ever seen. I don't know if it's like this throughout the rest of the album. but at some time, the instruments play one bar high on the left ear and low on the right, and the other low on the left ear and high on the right. Drawing an X with sound, symbolizing the breakup That's the most incredible thing I've ever heard from production. The only bad thing in the album are the hidden tracks which I think destroy the story and vibe of th album. But it's just fantastic.
David Bowie The Next Day
We should've anticipated how insane Blackstar would be strictly because of how amazing this album is.
David Bowie The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
I wouldn't consider myself a great Bowie fan, so I was expecting to find it alright.rYeah, apparently it's not possible to find Ziggy Stardust "only alright".rIt's incredible.
David Bowie Low
This type of album only comes once in a lifetime. 45 years after its release, Low still stands as one of the most important albums of all time. Because Brian Eno was unleashed to pop music. For those who don?t know Brian Eno was an electronic musician, so when he came to pop music, he introduced a lot of electronic elements to pop production. Whether it be the use of echoes and silence, the layering of guitars, the use of samples, he?s responsible for an obscene amount of elements that became absolutely integral to music in general. This album still stands as a complete evolution of how we view pop music. It could be slow, ambient, contemplative, electronic, everything that people were afraid of before. We can very clearly see a lot of people this album influenced and I think it?s one of the most important albums of all time. Warszawa is, I think, one of Bowie?s best tracks. And even though this album is only my fourth favorite Bowie album, it?s really not hard to see why it?s here.
David Bowie "Heroes"
Much preferred this to Low. Mostly for the instrumental tracks. Whereas Low tried to is a little all over the place, even though it displays great production, Heroes is so peaceful, going very well with the ambiance an themes of the album. Plus, there's Heroes on there, one of the greatest songs ever written, so, a little bonus.
David Bowie Hunky Dory
Honestly, the fact that some people consider Kanye West to be the greatest artist of all time is even funnier, the more you get into Bowie's discography.
David Bowie Aladdin Sane
It's not too high in my Bowie ranking, but the songwriting is still as amazing as Dory and Ziggy and even though I think it's a little under the two albums that precede it, it's just insane.
David Bowie Station to Station
At this point, I have no idea why it's not a universally recognized fact that Bowie has the greatest discography in the entire modern music world.
Death Grips The Money Store
definitely takes some time to get into, but once you're there, you start to realize that maybe fantano might have been right all along.rI just got through my second listen, and yeah Fantano was right.
Death Grips The Powers That B
Whereas Money Store was Ride's record, this one is entirely Morin and Hill's. Not that Ride isn't good on the record, but their production is so monumentally insane it's ridiculous. From the relaxed Bjork-sampled first half to the intense-metal inspired second half, this is just a testament of their incredible talent.
Death Grips Bottomless Pit
You know when you've heard what is an artist's best albums and you're like: "Well, the other albums aren't gonna be as good as these ones", but then you listen to the other albums and they're just as amazing? That just might be the best feeling in the world.
Deftones Around the Fur
Deltron 3030 Deltron 3030
Can't believe it took me this long to listen to this but yeah, I confirm it's one of the best rap albums of all time, of course I love itr
Denzel Curry Melt My Eyez See Your Future
The production is absolutely out of this world, denzel has some incredible bars on here, if Kendrick doesn't drop, this is easily the best rap album of this year
Devon Hendryx THE ROCKWOOD ESCAPE PLAN
Fuck off Peggy, stop being so goddamn good. It's getting annoying how great your music is at this point.
Devon Hendryx THE GHOST~POP TAPE
Absolutely mind-blowingly incredible. Peggy is already very high but keeps climbing my top rappers.
Devon Hendryx DREAMCAST SUMMER SONGS
The artists that I consider to be the greatest have among their discography a lot of 9s or higher. For example, Radiohead has 4. Well, I've listened to 4 peggy albums and they've all been 9s. Straight in the ranking of the greatest for Peggy, I guess.
Devon Hendryx Generation Y
I saw a comment saying this was Peggy's Bastard, and I think the comparison isn't wrong at all, what is sure is that Peggy was incredibly ahead of its time. Operation Kill Chet Haze and End to the Means are still some of his greatest songs
Duke Ellington Duke's Big 4
Dude. Fucking banger r
Earl Sweatshirt Some Rap Songs
Insane project, with great production, really interesting concept and profound lyricsr
Earl Sweatshirt Solace
this is as good as SRS. Same horribly haunting production, with those depressing lyrics. Earl is clearly a master at this point, but I gotta ask, is he okay?
Everything Everything Raw Data Feel
Fiona Apple Fetch the Bolt Cutters
I'm terribly sorry for misjudging this work of art
Fleet Foxes Shore
I don't think I've ever completely grasped the sentence: The album rewards you for each listen. Until I listened to this.
Freddie Gibbs and Madlib Pinata
This is goddamn amazing. I dont want to encourage the saying that rap has gone soft, but it is different than the gang dominated 90s and it's really cool to get a modern rap album that resembles a Ready To Die for example, talking about the gang lifestyle. Every song has amazing Freddie verses, amazing beats by Madlib and amazing features, actually maybe the best features on any rap albums
Genesis Selling England by the Pound
Whereas I had difficulty agreeing with London Calling being the defining album for the UK, I?d have no problem calling this one of Britain?s defining musical moments. There is an argument here about this album being the greatest prog rock album of all time, with the Cinema Eye being the best prog rock track of all time. As far as the instrumentation of the album, it?s prog rock very well done. The synths and flute solos are incredible, and the lyrics and stories told not only are extremely well made on a prog rock pov, but also as a British point of view, this album is full of references to the country its musicians are from. And however infamous the group and its members? later ventures could turn off others, I think it?s important that we remember this album as one of Genesis? most defining albums, both as a prog rock album and as a british album.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor G_d's Pee AT STATE'S END!
Is anyone surprised that this is as good as it is?r
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada
GYBE have always been notorious for being one of the most boundary pushing bands of all time, but I had never listened to any of their stuff before, so this was my entry point. Ho Ly Fuck. This thing bursts with incredibly echoey guitars, the loud overbearing production is absolutely gorgeous and they add to that an interview that is honestly fascinating even more today. It?s an amazing musical experience and I highly encourage you to listen to this. It?s simply out of this world.
Gorillaz Plastic Beach
I think this is objectively the best Gorillaz album. It's great songs all over the board, the album keeps an identity that works very well for the group, even though except in songs like DARE and Dirty Harry, we had never really seen much of before, every song in this is much more electronic than what we are used to seeing. Songs like Rhinestone Eyes, Superfast Jellyfish, or Plastic Beach are a rediscovery of what the band can do. It also tries and very well succeeds at making slower, more ballad-y songs, like Empire Ants, To Binge, or On Melancholy Hill, my favorite Gorillaz song.
Gorillaz The Now Now
Seeing as my favorite Gorillaz song is On Melancholy Hill, it's only fitting that the album that exploits that type of electronic ballad sound is my favorite. I would'ved Lake Zurich, which to me doesn't fit in the "story" that the album wants to tell in that, the record starts with an upbeat, kinda reassuring tune, then follows with a dance song, which we hadn't really seen since DARE. (Tranz and DARE, I feel are really similar). Then Hollywood arrives and suddenly it's still upbeat and kinda dance, and then stop. Kansas, Sorcererz, Idaho, Magic City, Fire Flies, One Percent, Souk Eye, all much slower, which kinda does a decrescendo-crescendo, in that the album starts very energetic, then calms down, which songs that start slow and then slowly explode in terms of instrumentation and vocals near the end. Some people say it's a 2-D solo album, and I'd say they're right. But that's not a bad thing, It's a much more vocal-focused album and that's the thing in prefer in Gorillaz.
Have a Nice Life Deathconsciousness
J Dilla Donuts
J Dilla will always be remembered for what he did in his career. A true mastermind and this is his magnum opus. RIP to the greatest hip hop producer of all time.
Jeff Rosenstock SKA DREAM
Did Rosenstock lose a bet? Did someone force him to make an album that mixes ska and rock? Cause that's gotta be the best bet-loss in history.
Jessie Ware What's Your Pleasure?
I really need to stop being a fantano sucker, but not today, this album is a goddamn masterpiece.
Jim Hall Concierto
Joey Badass 1999
I have no idea if it's a mixtape or an album, but this is one of the best "collection of rap songs" of all time, stellar rhymes, flows and beats. Great project.
Johann Sebastian Bach Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565
rIt?s crazy how amazing a 1h piece solely for the organ still is to this day. Bach is a master composer and I?m fine with this being his magnum opus and his only composition here. It has stood the test of time and is still one of the most iconic classical pieces ever. And it?s so much more than Toccata. Passacaglia and Fugue, the first part is as good, if not better in my opinion than the iconic one. When you think about it, isn?t it crazy how it?s still talked about 300 years after its release. Do you think Dababy wrote Suge and thought to himself, in 300 years people will still listen to that? r
John Coltrane A Love Supreme
uh yeah jazz
JPEGMAFIA LP! (online)
How the fuck does Peggy do to outdo himself every fucking time. Ever since his first ever project, every new has gone in a completely different direction, shattering expectations every goddamn time.
JPEGMAFIA Veteran
Okay nevermind my first review, this is fucking amazing.
JPEGMAFIA All My Heroes Are Cornballs
I didn't completely get what Peggy was going for on Veteran, I totally did here. His production works wonders, with his disgusting, weird, provocative lyrics. He's truly one of a kind.
JPRO Pressure Makes Diamonds
You know when talking about "So bad it's good" art, when you watch it, for works like The Room or Birdemic, they're still bad, and even know you get some enjoyment out of the bad, it's still bad. Pressure Makes Diamonds is the only piece of art that I can put in the category "so bad it's good", but I enjoy every single second of it.
JPRO PMD2
Incredible. The madman does it again
Julien Baker Little Oblivions
I've heard some people said this record was disappointing, uh... where?
Justin Hurwitz La La Land OST
I love this film, totally not objective when saying that I love this soundtrack. A lovely night and Somewhere In The Crowd are really great, and then it culminates into Epilogue, a best-of compilation of all the album. And I know on paper it sounds bad, but it works so well!!
Kacey Musgraves Pageant Material
Comparing this to Golden Hour, the instrumentations are a lot more basic and more top 40 country, but Kacey's are amazing and the universal relatability of her lyrics is still there and still awesome
Kacey Musgraves Golden Hour
Pop belongs to women, right now. Kacey Musgraves, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa and Charli XCX are proving right now that they're the best and most dominant forces in these days' pop state. Good for me, I love all of these girls' music. This album is fucking awesome
Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
You'd have to blind to not appreciate how insane this project is. Its ambition is great and everyone should appreciate it. I'd personally do without Hell Of A Life, but that's just me.
Kanye West 808s and Heartbreak
A second lislten will confirm if I truly love this. But 808s and Heartbreak is to me, Kanye at his second most impressive. Every song manages to do what it sets out to do, the album is beautiful in its simplicity with auto-tune that I turned out to really like, contrarily to what I would've expected. A truly unique part of Mr. West's discography.
Kanye West Yeezus
lol now ben is back on sputnik. victory is achieved ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
Keane Under The Iron Sea
This used to be one of mu favorite albums ever, and I've grown apart from it, but I still think it's a great album. It's full of interesting chord progs and pop production elements that few others do.
Kendrick Lamar To Pimp a Butterfly
I knew Kendrick Lamar from Humble and DNA. And when I heard some people say that Kendrick was the Goat, I was kinda surprised. To me, rap in the 2010's was disappointing in comparison to earlier hip-hop. That rap had peaked. rI was extremely glad to be proven so wrong. The production is insane, the album offers so much while never feeling overwhelming. It mixes a lot of kinds of rap, the tone keeps changing from sad to exciting, from slow to hype as fuck. It's amazing.
Kendrick Lamar Section.80
The most underrated Kendrick release. Really passionate projects with some of his best tracks (Tammy's Song, ADHD, HiiiPower) but also probably his worst (No Make-up Today). Still, a fantastic entry for the rapper.
Kero Kero Bonito Civilisation II
If this was an album, it would shoot straight on top on of 2021 list. OMG the songs bang so hard.
Khruangbin The Universe Smiles Upon You
Chill, groovy, fun, everything an album of that type should strive to be
King Crimson In the Court of the Crimson King
Epitaph is KG best song and you can argue against the wall cuz you're not gonna change my mind
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Omnium Gatherum
L'Imperatrice Tako Tsubo
DAFT PUNK MIGHT BE GONE BUT THEIR INFLUENCE LIVES ON
L'Imperatrice Matahari
Come on L'imperatrice, I already love Tako Tsubo, you didn't need to have made another fucking masterpiece!r
Lauryn Hill The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
This is one of hip hop's finest accomplishment. Hill's beautiful voice matches wonderfully with those complex and soothing instruments. I do find that the songs kinda go for too long, which makes it a little jarring at times, but it's still an absolute masterpiece.
Left At London T.I.A.P.F.Y.H.
The producion on this omg it makes me lose my words OOMPH
Lianne La Havas Lianne La Havas
There's some kind of musicians that you can't have 2 of. For example, no one has been able to Daft Punk like Daft Punk. And I thought that no one would be able to Lauryn Hill like Lauryn Hill, but Lianne does it amazingly so. She's an exceptional vocalist and you can add to that some great instrumentation that takes influence from many genres. Also, somebody give that bassist an award or something, cause this bass is just bonkers.
Little Simz Sometimes I Might Be Introvert
In a year where we have albums by J. Cole, MF DOOM, Tyler, Kanye, Drake, and possibly Jpegmafia and Kendrick that the rap album of the year is by a British woman.
Ludovico Einaudi Divenire
I was at a music school groing up and each year we had one piano song we played in the concert. Upon the next year we would play said song in classes for like International Music Day or something. When I came back in 6th grade, I hadn't practiced my song, so instead the teacher allowed me to play Monday by Ludovico Einaudi. I played this quite long song in front of 25 2nd grade students, I'm not sure they liked it, but this just goes to show how personal this album feels to me. It's unbelievably great piano tracks, with so much beauty that the album kinda feels like honey.
Ludwig van Beethoven Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67
I feel like this piece gets resumed to the tatatatan too often, while it?s actually so much more. It flows incredibly well and kinda and the transitions from loud and intense to soft and relaxing parts works amazingly. And actually the best parts aren?t the iconic ones. I feel like an idiot calling a 200 year old classic piano piece underrated, because it wouldn?t be still talked about these days if it wasn?t good, but to casual listeners, I think it?s a really interesting listen, as the rest of the piece is absolutely beautiful.
Ludwig van Beethoven Piano Sonata No14 C-sharp minor,Op.27No2
rMoonlight Sonata is very good. It takes a simple piano bit and builds it up over each of its parts. It can go from very soothing, to quite intense and that evolution works really well. With the image of the moon. But upon revisiting it, I found myself thinking that the piece was just way too short. I actually think it would work better as a piano concerto maybe, that would last longer than 15 minutes. So it?s actually a insult compliment that I?m saying. It?s great and I wished we had more.r
Madvillain Madvillainy
The best rap album of all time. The rhymes and lyrics are out of this world. It's unbelievably rich, mixing humor, sincerity, irony in 22 songs. It never gets long. 22 is an incredibly high number and every song is awesome. Curls has him telling Dumile's own story in a truly sincere way, Operation Lifesaver is a hilarious piece placing a girl's bad breath against DOOM's lyrical talent, Accordion is gorgeous, full of one-liners, Strange Ways tells the irony of the world we live in, Rainbows is a beautiful little poem about a murder, this album never skips. It is unbelievable
McKinley Dixon For My Mama And Anyone Who Look Like Her
Very easily one of the best projects of the yearr
Megadeth Rust in Peace
Can you ever get sick of this?
Michael Jackson Thriller
I didn't expect to love this as much as I did, considering I knew half of the songs, but this was as insane as people say. Even the songs that I already knew, were better here in album versions, the riff at the end of Billie Jean? Oh my fucking god. Just a goddamn banger
Muse The Resistance
Immensely important album for me at one time, I clearly have grown apart from it, but it's a nice relic of my past and the Exogenesis Symphony is still amazing.
Muse Black Holes & Revelations
This was incredible. The problem now is that I've rated 5 stars the 2 Muse albums that I have listened to. I really don't want to be disappointed with the next ones.
My Chemical Romance The Black Parade
We need to recognize that Welcome To The Black Parade is one of the greatest songs of all time. The rest is at the same level. With a fantastic concept, great lyrics and composition. There are incredibly satisfying chord progressions. It's just a must for any alt-rock fan.
Nas Illmatic
You can't deny that this is one of the best rap albums of all time.
Neighbor Susan Neighbor Susan
Not the most complete album, but really makes you realize that with more popularity could easily make a masterpiece. With no budget and no views, these guys put out amazing songs like Space, Dancey Pants, or Cut The Grass Before The World Ends. I'm gonna call it: if they get a popularity boost from someone on the internet, these guys are gonna blow up.
New Order Brotherhood
It was so obvious that this would become one of my favorite of all timer
Nick Drake Pink Moon
It's crazy how influential this record has become. It's quite perfect. Beautifully dark lyrics, exceptionally powerful guitar playing and this voice... Omg this voice. Things Behind The Sun might be one of the best song ever written.
Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral
This album is incredible. The concept of a downward spiral of the protagonist and the different themes of sex, drugs, and mental problems are actually really cool. All that accompanied with a god-like or rather devil-like production. The mixing is really amazing and each song really sounds incredible. From the intense and deliriously fun Mr. Self Destruct, to the beautiful soft Hurt, this album is a true trip and I think it?s my favorite metal album of all time. Amazing production with great lyrics. Winning match.
Noname Room 25
If you're looking for an awesome rap album with TPAB-type production, I urge to listen to this album, it's amazing.
Nujabes Metaphorical Music
You think you've discovered everything in rap, until Nujabes comes around to kick you in the nuts with this amazing record. Incredibly refreshing, I never knew I liked lo-fi this much. With some truly magnificent tracks. Lady Brown will forever always be on repeat.
OutKast Aquemini
Two amazing producers making their best album. I feel like Outkast are the Tribe of the late 90s, because they were doing their thing, and only them could do it, and goddamn is it good.
Phoebe Bridgers Punisher
I didn't really like this the first time I listened, but last night, I relistened to it, calmly in my bed and this hit me like a truck.rBridgers truly has a beautiful coupled with beautiful instrumentations with bittersweet lyrics to make this one hell of a ride.
Pink Floyd Obscured by Clouds
It's crazy to me how easily you can see the band's evolution through these albums and since DSOTM is my favorite Pink Flyd albums, I think it's really cool to be able to see where it stemmed from. Pink Floyd will definitely always be able to surprise me.
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
Timeless. An absolutely timeless classic. Undeniably brilliant.
Pink Floyd Animals
This is probably Floyd at their best lyrically (well second best). The metaphors between Animals and different members of the capitalist society are actually incredibly clever and work incredibly well. This is also probably late Floyd at their most psychedelic, which is honestly great to see them dabble on the genre they started off doing. And it works incredibly well with the amazing lyrics. And I find it crazy how well it holds up today, the lyrics are still relevant more than 40 years after its making. But I gotta be honest, this is my fourth favorite Pink Floyd record. It?s amazing, for sure, but it?s as far as Pink Floyd records, this is definitely not the one I?d revisit the most.
Pink Floyd Meddle
After having listened to their 4 big albums, you'd think you'd have to motivate yourself to listen to their other albums, thinking they would be bad. That isn't true AT ALL.rMeddle, Piper and Saucerful are great. Awesome even.
Pink Floyd Pulse
I'm normally not a big live guy, so it took Pink Floyd for me to further immerse myself in the world of live music. Insanely great record. I actually prefer Shine On You Crazy Diamond live than the recorded version. Weird.
Prince Purple Rain
You know, you hear so much about Prince and his legendary status as one of this planet's greatest pop starts, then you listen to it and you're like shit they're right
Queen Sheer Heart Attack
I don't typically love Queen, but this is so insane, I'm having trouble believing people prefer Queen 2 and Night At The Opera over this
Radiohead OK Computer
I understand why people say this is one of the best albums of all time, but to me, it's a very frustrating listen, because I don't like the order in which the songs are presented. Especially near the end, where you have No Surprises, AKA the best Radiohead song ever, which for some reason isn't the song that closes the album. So, whenever I listen to it, the two songs after that are especially frustrating.
Rina Sawayama RINA
One of the greatest collection of pop tunes ever. Cyber Stockholm Syndrome is one of the greatest songs of all time.
Rina Sawayama Sawayama
It's still too early to tell, but I want to apologize to The Strokes, you might lose the crown of my favorite album of 2020.
Rush 2112
I honestly think it's weird how Moving Pictures is considered Rush's classic when 2112 sits right there under everyone's eyes. It's one of the greatest rock epics ever.
Rush Hemispheres
Silk Sonic An Evening with Silk Sonic
This was a classic even before it even dropped r
Slauson Malone A Quiet Farwell, 2016–2018
Few albums manage to capture the unease that this albums make me feel. It's not one I would go back to often, but when I do, I'm sure I'd love it everytime.
Slint Spiderland
To put it simply, the most haunting and anxiety-inducing. The mix of dissonant, guitars with Brian Mcmahan?s poignant vocals, that constantly move from whispered to screamed, make it so, you?re never relaxed, and that goes deliriously well with the horrifying nature of the lyrics. Don, Aman is incredibly scary with how well it describes its character, socially awkward and, kinda evil. It?s definitely not an album to revisit every day, but when I do, it?s sure to scare the crap out of me every time.
slowthai TYRON
slowthai is definitely one of the most entertaining rappers to hear and this album was really good, his funny lyrics are a lot of fun, even though they really aren't the most profound of all time. I think the calmer second half is better than the first. Songs like Playing with Fire, nhs and Feel away really have gorgeous production, that shouldn't fit with slowthai's voice, but kinda do. Great album, didn't expect nothing less.
Stevie Wonder Songs in the Key of Life
Still one of the greatest pop albums ever. Wonder?s fun, yet conscious lyricism and melodies are something that I think everyone can adore. Now that I say it, this is probably the most universal and accessible record on this list. The songwriting is god tier, with some all time goated songs. Isn?t She Lovely, Sir Duke, As, Another are simply out of this world. A master songwriter who pours his soul into his magnum opus. I really wish I could say more, but this album speaks for itself. It?s life itself put to music. Just go listen to it. Stevie?s music will explain it way better than I ever could.
Sufjan Stevens Carrie and Lowell
It took me quite a while to finally listen to this album and the tone of it is a big reason why. There's a specific mood you have to get in to listen to this and if you're in that mood it absolutely hits. Death With Dignity and The Only Thing hit hard. It's a really morbid album but it's kinda beautiful in that wayrI can't believe I only put an 8 to this thing.
Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine A Beginner's Mind
Never would've guessed Sufjan could make a 4th masterpiece
Talk Talk Laughing Stock
This record and another one further on this list are generally credited as the records that started post rock. And while many would take that post rock would mean pushing the instruments or production past their once thought limit, this record, isn?t really that. It?s to show what the genre as a whole could accomplish. And it does by mixing the simplest riffs with amazing ambient production, to create perhaps the most calming record on this list. Whereas some ambient records choose to be cold and isolate their audience, this one doesn?t do that at all. It?s warm, it welcomes you in. If you add to that some genuinely interesting philosophy on religion, it makes for a fantastic experience.
The Beatles Revolver
rTake this from a guy who doesn?t care about The Beatles, I think this is their best album. It?s the first of them where they try to go more experimental and I really like the different genres they touch on this album, whether it be baroque or psychedelic. Like all of their albums, it flows superbly well. It?s full of my favorite tracks of them like She Said She Said or Im Only Sleeping. I?ve never been too much a fan of The Beatles? lyrics, and this one isn?t much different, I?m more there for the tunes, and they are pretty good here. Not like The Beatles were recognized as like the best band of all time or anything.r
The Cure The Head on the Door
Oh man, if this isn't one of the best pop records that has ever come out of Britain holy crap.
The Cure Seventeen Seconds
I continue my radiohead analogy: Seventeen Seconds and Fatih are The Cure's The Bends. A big upgrade from their first album that really show the bands' true potential, with some phenomenal singles. Seriously, people don't exaggerate A Forest's greatness. This record is only the beginning of an amazing career.r
The Cure Wish
Disintegration is my favorite album of all time, so I was always hesitant to listen to this one. Because, it has Friday I'm In Love in it, a very silly and simple love song, that is also the band's most popular song. And I like FIIL, but as they were known for great and complex songwriting and composition, I feared for a long time that this would be their sellout album. This was as far from the case as it could've been. The goth rock and 80s pop masters take great influence from grunge this time and it works wonders. They once again renew their style and it's amazing. Some incredibly engaging riffs, solos and the production, this time a little more electronic is an awesome breath of fresh air. And while listening to this, I said: If the lyrics are great, this album is a 10. We'll see next listen. Absolute masterpiece.
The Dear Hunter Act II: The Meaning of, & All Things Regarding Ms. Leading
Take MuserAdd the musical diversity of a madmanrAdd some genuinely beautiful lyrics in order to tell an awesome rock operarAdd probably the most dedicated frontman ever rAnd you get The Dear Hunter's Act IIr
The Dear Hunter The Fox & the Hunt
Casey Crecenzo is one of the most gifted composer of our era and it fucking sucks that no one knows about him.
The Dear Hunter Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise
Where Act II is the best musically, and Act III is the best lyrically, Act IV is I think the best on a scenaristic level. I just the story much more interesting than any other Dear Hunter album.
The Dear Hunter Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional
I said that Act II was the best musically, that Act III was the best lyrically and that Act IV was the best scenaristically and Act V blows every single previous records out of the water. The production is immaculate, the story is at its most interesting, I strongly believe that A Beginning is the best Dear Hunter song of all time. It's just perfect. This album's amazing. It'S the best in the series, although I feel like I slightly prefer Act II, but that's just me.
The Flaming Lips The Soft Bulletin
It's been a long time since I spammed an album as much as this one. truly amazingr
The Killers Day & Age
I think that in terms of Pop-Rock bands, The Killers is the one with the most impressive vocal performances and instead of Hot Fuss, which is much more rock, Day and Age is much slower, much more of a musical experience. It also very well represents what to me is the strength of The Killers, being their bridges. Almost every song has a bridge and they're always the best part of the song. Human is their best song and the bridge is orgasmic.
The Microphones Microphones in 2020
My god, what a glorious return in strength for The Microphones, this was incredible
The Microphones The Glow Pt. 2
What do you want me to say? This album is perfection.
The National Boxer
Matt Berninger is an extremely talented vocalist and the ambience and comfort he brings with his voice is extraordinary. The instrumentation varies well in the album and adapts well to Berninger's voice. It's really incredible.r
The National Sleep Well Beast
I had only listened to Boxer before this one and I loved it. And it baffled me how I loved Sleep Well Beast even more. The adding of electronic elements added a whole new dimension to their song. I'll Still Destroy You Someday is such a master piece. Holy fuck
The National High Violet
I was slow to get this, but I think this is their best album. The lyrics are immensely sad, with a constantly building amazing production. At that point, the band is just too good.
The Notorious B.I.G. Ready to Die
As far as lyrical wordplay goes, is there anything better than this? Biggie truly is one of the greatest rappers of all time. And this album, which is pretty much a run-down of his life is incredibly important to the 90s and to rap music in general. The stories he tells in this album are for once incredibly well told, but also relevant to the gangster world. He?s very good at creating drama and suspense in his tracks, but he?s also surprisingly funny. The album flows incredibly well, it?s still relevant today, songs like Juicy stood the test of time and for very good reasons. That song is one of the greatest hip hop songs of all time. And while certain themes of the album wouldn?t pass today and could weird out certain listeners, it?s still really representative of its decade and the lifestyle. It?s absolutely central to rap, and we?re damn far from forgetting it.
The Seatbelts Blue
The Strokes The New Abnormal
When I discovered this album, I had heard of The Strokes before, notably because of Reptilia, which is one of my favourite alternative songs ever. During the time where I explained a lot why I liked more vocal and musical albums of pop rock bands, The Strokes release this album, which seems like a typical Strokes album, until it gets to At The Door and Ode To The Mets, and when I listened to these songs (I was gardening), I just stopped, sat down and just listened without doing anything else, in awe of the absolute beauty of these 2 songs.
The Strokes Is This It
It's amazing to me how an album recorded with a sound that makes it sound cheap and was criticized at its release for being poorly recorded still has some of the best production and some of the most interesting sound among the releases of today. I also like how even with a boost in popularity, The Strokes never backed away from that particular sound, so in the end, it wasn't a question of money, but artistic integrity. The sort of symphony of chaos that is resonant in Is This It is still being used in the latest Strokes records which just make them one of the best groups ever.
The Strokes Comedown Machine
I feel like the old Strokes are a very influential and very good classic rock band. Whereas Modern Strokes are an underrated group that will be very influential in the next years. When I listen to Angles, Comedown Machine, and The New Abnormal, I feel like I listen to the next evolution of rock. Very good classic influences and mix of modern and electronic sounds. People don't really like them now, but I feel like in a decade, people will go back to these Strokes album and be like Damn, this was really avant-garde
The War On Drugs I Don't Live Here Anymore
I think I have a new favorite genre... Dad rock r
The Who Quadrophenia
In the discussion of storytelling albums/rock operas, I feel like we often forget about The Who, who always come with incredible high concepts for their albums and incredible instrumentations. For those who don?t know, this album is about a guy named Jimmy who suffers from Schizophrenia, and the 4 personalities he has are actually characteristics from each band member. It?s honestly a very cool concept, that leads to a really compelling story. Aside from that, Moon, Entwhistle, and Townshend absolutely shred their instruments, especially on songs like The Real Me, the title track, The Rock and Drowned. Those riffs are fast-paced, extremely engaging, and lead to a very fun experience. I also can?t pass the opportunity to mention Doctor Jimmy, the quintessential track of the album, that honestly hits like a truck.
Thundercat It Is What It Is
Honestly is there a better album to chill to? Thundercat's incredible groovy bass works superbly well with his falsetto'd voice. It's just so nice to hear, goddamn.
Tyler, the Creator IGOR
I knew a lot of individual songs from this record, so I expected to be disappointed. But surprisingly I wasn't, I found the the tracks that I did not know were often my favorites, as good as when I first discovered the tracks I already knew. THis is what this album does I guess, it's incredibly fun at each relisten. A modern classic, dare I say.
Tyler, the Creator Flower Boy
Weird that I haven't rated it before. Tyler really comes together as a musician by really expanding his genres, leading to absolutely incredible tracks, with amazing features. I prefer Igor, but this is on the same level, Tyler is clearly a master at this point.
Weezer The Green Album
I think it has been proven enough. It's been proven countless amount of time. The "Best" album of a group is never the one I prefer. I like this one better than the Blue Album.
Weyes Blood Front Row Seat to Earth
Titanic Rising is in my top 5 albums of all time, so I was very scared to go into Weyes Blood's other work by fear of disappointment. But I completely forgot what incredible ethereal experiences her albums here. Her lush, beautiful vocals are still present on this record, with those glorious gospel chorals in the background. I have to admit, I'm not too crazy on Side B, I feel like these tracks are the weakest of their entire career, even though it has some shining moments, in particular the closer Front Row, with its deranging psychedelic ambiance. I'm glad I didn't chicken out and listened to this, cause it was amazing. I love Weyes Blood.
Wilco Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
You know sometimes how you wait for so long to listen to a very praised album, that you kinda feel like you'll be disappointed, but then turns out it's as awesome as everyone says it is?
Wolves in the Throne Room Primordial Arcana
I would love to go back in time and tell my younger self (who only listened to 80's pop, rap and 2000's alt-rock) and tell him that his favorite record of 2021 would be a death metal album, he would flip shit.
Yves Tumor Heaven To A Tortured Mind
This year made us wanna escape and the one album to make us do that is this one. It's also responsible for giving us the best banger of 2020, in Kerosene.

4.0 excellent
100 Gecs 1000 gecs
I dont know how dumb I was to think this album was a 1/10. Now that Im well aboard the hyperpop train, this is such a bangerr
A Tribe Called Quest Midnight Marauders
Again, an incredibly impressive record coming from Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammad. It's a little more raw whereas Low End Theory was more chill. Which is why I like their sophomore record the most. Still, a damn fine record.
Allie X Cape God
In MicTheSnare's top 10 albums of the 2010s video, that's what he says about CRJ's Emotion: Every song is either a banger, a bop or a jam. And I think this is a very good way to judge a pop album, and while there are some songs that fall very flat on this album, there are some great bops, some great bangers, and some great jams (Suzie, Save Your Love
Amy Winehouse Back to Black
Really interesting entry point into an even more fascinating artist, she has an incredible voice, her lyrics describe her life and persona perfectly, just a great record.
Angels and Airwaves The Dream Walker
I wll put a patent on the term the Dream Walker rating. Which is what you would say about an album like Dream Walker, like Coldplay's X and Y, or The Killers' Battle BornrAn album where every song is good, but they don't seem to fit coherently as an album.
Aphex Twin Selected Ambient Works 85-92
To me, this is a quality listen from The Twin, and the composition is very impressive, but I don't think the songs build to an ambiance as interesting as the ones on other Twin records, especially Drukqs.
Aphex Twin Windowlicker
It's great but the rest track of the tracklist really doesnt compare to how good the title track is. Probably my favorite aphex song ever
Aphex Twin Come to Daddy
Checked this one out because I liked Flim, pretty great EP
Aphex Twin Selected Ambient Works Volume II
Every single fucking one of their albums slap. I think this one is better than 85-92. They just dont miss
Arctic Monkeys Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino
It's a really crazy project that I enjoy more and more upon relistens. The Monkeys just took their time before hitting for me. Cool for them, I guess.
Arctic Monkeys Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Ariana Grande Dangerous Woman
Yes, like any Grande album there are a few stinkers in there, but when it hits, oh boy does it hit, and the insane songs in there are what convinces me that this is her best album.
Armand Hammer and The Alchemist Haram
I have to admit The Alchemist's production can be hit or miss for me, but when it kills, oh boy is it awesome. Big ups and small downs in this record for me.
Baby Keem The Melodic Blue
I want to suck the dick whoever mixed the drums on this thing. He deserves it.
Beach House Depression Cherry
Space Song is their most popular song and I clearly understand, but the album as a whole is good, but not as good as this track and not as good as some other of their albums.
Beyonce Lemonade
Really didnt expect to like this as much as I did. It felt weird at first, but the more the album went, the better it sat with me. It's a great storyline about love sung superbly well by the Queen herself.
Big Thief Two Hands
Bjork Vespertine
Not a massive of Bjork, it certainly takes more than one listen to fully get behind this, and I'm slowly getting there. But I can still appreciate the beauty of Bjork's voice and how influential it has become.
Black Midi Cavalcade
Holy fuck, this record is incrdibly unpredictable and that's amazing. Filled with amazing riffs, and vocal delivery, this is a must listen from this year.
Black Midi Schlagenheim
Bladee Icedancer
Bladee Working On Dying
Bladee x ECCO2K Crest
With how much these two people get made fun of, it's relatively hard to get into their music while being prepared for the worst, turns out, it's one of the most beautiful and surreal experiences of the year.
Boards of Canada Music Has the Right to Children
Imagine Kid A without the vocals. It sounds awesome on paper, turns out it's great, but not as amazing as I would've thought.
Bob Dylan Triplicate
You know, you'd think it's weird that Bob Dylan's career ends with him as a jazz/crooner singer in a bar aesthetic, turns out, its hella good
Boy Pablo Wachito Rico
i've sort of become addicted to this type of sound, notably with Neighbor Susan's debut earlier this year. The mix of all the instrumentation makes this for a genre that can pretty much do anything. From really great dance songs, to slow moody songs. Maybe that made me biased to like Boy Pablo's latest release. But this is a really fun record, that I don't see anyone at least getting some enjoyment out of it.
Boygenius boygenius
This is a collab album between Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker, and Phoebe Bridgers, three amazing indie artists. But sometimes, the whole is less than the sum of its parts, this is not one of them, great album
Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
I?ve heard people say that this is emo rock?s crowning achievement, and I don?t think they?re wrong. This album is everything that makes the genre pushed to the max. The explosive production works really well, especially with the dark lyrics. And those lyrics are really excellent. The album tackles death, existentialism and religion in a really amazing way. If you should hear only one track on this album, it must be Limousine. It?s a chillingly morbid song based on a true story about a drunk driver hitting a limousine, killing a 7 year-old girl by doing so. If every song on the album floored me as much as this one, it?d be a 10. This album flows incredibly and I can clearly see why it?s up there.r
Bruno Mars 24K Magic
Amazing pop record, would be a 9 if they put the Finesse Remix instead of the garbage normal versionr
Car Seat Headrest Teens of Denial
I didn't absolutely love it, but i think this album is pretty important, because kinda like Charli XCX's self titled, it's incredibly indicative of the generation it was made for and from. It's incredibly gen-z/millenial and I think its a good relic of those generations.
Carly Rae Jepsen Emotion: Side B
Casiopea Mint Jams
format gets a little stale after a while, but goddamn is it jammy
Cities Aviv MAN PLAYS THE HORN
Cocteau Twins Heaven or Las Vegas
I really love shoegaze and one of the best releases of that genre was sure to work extremely well with me.
Coldplay X&Y
Awesome tracks all the way, but I feel like the album as a whole isn't as good as the sum of its parts.
Coldplay A Rush of Blood to the Head
I feel like Coldplay has let their "trademark" go for this album after Parachutes, trademark being piano, for an acoustic guitar, and I like them better with piano, so I'm Parachutes gang.
Coldplay Mylo Xyloto
I was expecting to hate this, but I really didn't. This is an amazing pop album. I hate in in Coldplay's discography, because I think it made the shift towards the more pop Coldplay of the 2010's which I hate, but the album is awesome. I don't need to mention how extraordinary Rihanna is in Princess of China. It has come to my attention that near 2010, having Rihanna featuring is always amazing (All Of The Lights)
Conway the Machine God Don't Make Mistakes
CunninLynguists A Piece Of Strange
The production is amazing, and I appreciate the lyrics for the most part, but I feel like the album didn't do much for me. I can very easily understand why people like this album, but it just didn't click with me.
Damso Ipséité
Some 10/10 tracks that speak about the duality/contradiction of Damso's character with some out of this world production all the wayrA guy who knows he's a bad person, but assumes it all the wayrWhen the album focuses on that (Dieu ne meant jamais, Mosaique solitaire, macarena, kietu), it is incrediblerHowever, the album can lose itself in terms of production and lyricism on songs like Kin La Belle, Gova, Love or Noob Saibot.
David Bowie Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)
Really weird how people remember Let's Dance while this album is by far the superior pop Bowie album. Also, shoutout to Ashes to Ashes, which is one of the best Bowie tracks OAT
Declan McKenna Zeros
Excellent pop album with some very original songs that has a very modern ambiance. It's weirdly nostalgic as well as futuristic.
Denzel Curry TA13OO
This album has absolutely stellar verses, but also have really sub-par hooks, I've always hated the one on Clout Cobain (Awful title as well), and the other ones are not as bad as this one, but certainly aren't amazing. Despite that, Curry is a great lyricist, there are some great bars on here, great rap project.
Devon Hendryx JOECHILLWORLD
I think I had little too high expectations for this one. That's not to say it isn't great. The beats are as impressive as his other records, with some surprisingly great storytelling, but I feel that as a whole it's a little under a lot of other Peggy records.
DJ Shadow Endtroducing.....
Shadow kinda predicted what hiphop would be in the years to come. And this album was super influential. Whether it be the sampling of interviews and TV shows that would become the norm for producers like MF DOOM of Madlib, but also the very big influence of jazz on the production. But perhaps it?s most impressive feature is how well it uses drums. They sound absolutely gorgeous on here. This album is a collection of some really awesome rap beats of all time. And the influence and revolution that this album made is definitely a good criteria for considering this one of the best hip hop albums ever and a fundamental key element of the genre. As far as hip hop producer albums go, this isn?t my favorite album and I don?t think it?s even the best. Personally, things like J Dilla?s Donuts or Nujabes? Metaphorical Music, that I think modernised the genre even better than Endtroducing, but that?s just my opinion. As far as producing hip hop, this is definitely top tier.
Earl Sweatshirt Sick!
Fire In The Hole is the greatest song of the year so far, and Earl's best song in my opinion, this album is a whole is great, way under SRS right now but could potentially grow on me very much with time
ECCO2K E
Electric Light Orchestra Out of the Blue
I saw a video on youtube about how the 3 tracks leading up to Mr. Blue Sky were amazing, and they are, but then I listened to the whole album instead of just these 4 songs, and all the other are as good as the quadrilogy of weather.
Elliott Smith Either/Or
I certainly understand why so many people adore Elliot Smith, his music is really soothing and he influenced a lot of folk singers, but to me, this album is nothing that other folk musicians that I prefer did better. If it were up to me, Sufjan Stevens, John Mayer, Joni Mitchell, or Jim Croce are artists that as far as folk goes I would?ve preferred to see here, more than Smith. I guess I?m just not much a fan of Smith?s lyrics, his vocal style with those guitars are gorgeous. Then again, I can understand why people love this album and I?m not asying it?s bad. It?s just not what I would consider my favorite in terms of folk.
Elliott Smith Elliott Smith
I'm conflicted, cause if I compare it to Either/Or, this made me think much more of Nick Drake, instead of Sufjan Stevens. I liked the lyrics a lot more here, but I feel the production was a little lacking compared to E/O and I just can't really think of which one is better. Smith is a fantastic artist, but unfortunately, I don't feel especially attached to his music in any way.
Emerson Lake and Palmer Tarkus
This album gets compared a lot to Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon. Both for being important prog rock albums of the 1970s. Since I adore DSOTM, I was expecting to like this as well and I did. To me, prog rock works better with echoey/shoegaze type production to give it that spacey feel, which is why in terms of prog rock, I'm more a Alan Parsons guy than a ELP guy, but still this was excellent.
Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP
Despite how many white rap tiktokers tell you that it's racist to enjoy Eminem's music, he's undoubtedly one of the greatest and this album is proof of that.
Feu! Chatterton Palais d'Argile
Damnit Im a french canadian who really likes french pop, and Fantano got to this album before I did.
FKA Twigs Caprisongs
Fka twigs is an awesome vocalist, this album seems pretty groundbreaking, hella might go up with time.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor F♯ A♯ ∞
I have seen few records who utilize silence as well as this one does. The production is really quiet and calm, comparatively to other records on this list. And that slowness goes with the interview and the themes of the albums, whereas some predict the world will go out with a bang, this one goes more for a whimper. GYBE are again, phenomenal in terms of production and originality, and it?s super boundary pushing, even though it?s my favorite from them.
Gorillaz Demon Days
Classic, yes, but I feel like it doesn't have as much of an identity as the other albums. Some could say it has a pseudo slow rock with unenthusiastic depressed vocals, kinda like Feel Good Inc or Kids With Guns, but then there are tracks like DARE or Dirty Harry, which are very good, but don't fit the same category, it's a very good record, but with ups and downs. rEdit: Listening to this on vinyl has given a whole new perspective on the album. Songs I used to dislike I rank now much higher
Gorillaz Gorillaz
The one that started it all is a classic. The band start out by being very original in this genre-bending album. Mixing rock with rap, jazz with rap. Some people say the record doesn't have a recognizable sound, I disagree to me it's these very funk-rock types of beats, where the voices change. 19-2000 is a classic. Get the cool shoeshine boys
Gorillaz Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez
I'm a massive Gorillaz fan and people seem to say that this is their best work since Plastic Beach and I would have to be the black sheep and disagree. While they blessed us with great songs, to me, as an album, it's nothing more than a standard Gorillaz release. The songs are very good, is the album coherent? Meh? I mean it's better than Humanz, but I feel like the way they released the album just gives this less of an impact. If they had released all of it in one shot, I would've probably liked the album better. All things considered, it's still a solid record.
GZA Liquid Swords
I feel like when we talk about the greatest rappers of all time, we often forget how incredibly dominating the Wu-Tang members were, especially GZA and RZA the masterminds behind this album. RZA is a really important and influential producer, so if you add his really great beats with GZA?s insan lyrics, you get a really great album. GZa as a lyricist is not like a Kendrick Lamar, where he shines by his storytelling. He?s more like an MF DOOM, where he shines through his rhyme schemes. They?re all really cool and he knows how to please the ears throughout every track on this album. Even though it wouldn?t be in my personal top, I can understand how this is remembered as one of the best hip hop albums ever.
HAIM Women In Music, Pt. III
My KGLW arc is over, I'm a HAIM fanboy now r
Hippo Campus LP3
Ice Cube The Predator
Ice Cube is a great rapper, I really like his rhyme schemes and overall flow on this record. But I really wish he would rap about different things. The songs tend to revolve around the same themes. BUT the production is surprisingly AMAZING coming from this rap erar
Immolation Acts of God
When I listened to the top 100 albums of this website, Immolation's record was the only I truly disliked, and now I really want to revisit it because I loved this new record of theirs.
Injury Reserve By The Time I Get To Phoenix
Dude, I wasn't crazy about the IR debut, but man, from the first note, it's really something special, my attention kinda went away for a good part of it, but I'm sure after multiple listens, this'll get better.
Japanese Breakfast Jubilee
Paprika and Be Sweet are absolutely amazing, after that, the album loses its momentum and never gets it back, but still some pretty good pop songs.
Jeff Buckley Grace
This isn?t my type of album. I?m more of a guy who likes albums with a larger sense of continuity or deeper meaning than a collection of song. This still totally deserves its place among the greatest. Buckley is an amazing lyricist and singer and its on full display here. Each song is better from the other and carried by Buckley?s otherwordly vocals. It has my favorite cover of Hallelujah of all time and Lover, You Should?ve Come Over is one of my favorite songs of all time. And I love these songs, but since the album doesnt feel like more than a collection of ?em to me, it?s not something I?d go back to a whole lot.
Jethro Tull Thick as a Brick
The story behind this album is very funny. After critics called and judged their last album as a concept album, when according to them it wasn?t, they were so mad that they decided to make a parody concept album, and what they ended up doing was one of the best prog rock records of all time. And I can understand why it?s here. As a prog rock release, it totally earns all the praise it gets, and I think it?s also important to represent parody albums, since they can be an important part of culture. So yeah, it?s very good, as far as prog rock goes, it?s not among my favorites, but it?s still a great album.
Joanna Newsom Divers
This was my entry point into Newsom's work and I was really impressed. I really like her imaged lyrics and they pair really well with really original production.
Joni Mitchell Blue
I had never heard a Mitchell song before, but based on her appearance, I thought that she had a raspy, crooner voice, so I was really surprised to hear he's vocal range. The songwriting is excellent though I have to say I wasn't totally impressed by the composition. These instrumentation aren't very impressive, and kinda drag the rest a lot since the rest is so good.
Jonny Greenwood Phantom Thread OST
I feel like this sountrack is so good, that it is not detachable from the movie. Greenwood has done a masterful job in this soundtrack, making it so precise, it lives inside the movie. That's why I have difficulties listening to it, because to me, the film doesn't work without the music and vice versa.r
Joy Division Unknown Pleasures
Judas Priest Painkiller
This was so much fun, the feeling I got when I heard this record was the same I had as a kid when I heard Through The Fire and The Flames for the first time. This record is incredibly impressive, but also incredibly fun. The instruments are mixed in a way that makes them light, even though it?s heavy metal, which makes this record a joy to go back to. Even though I can?t say this is like a groundbreaking or incredible record, in terms of lyrics and metal in general, I can see why people have a lot of fun coming back to it.
Justice
This is a better Human After All than Human After All
Kacey Musgraves Star-Crossed
I love Golden Hour, and Kacey could have done the exact same record another time and I would've loved it. She's way too good for that, went further in every way. Cool and interesting storytelling, nice album structure, some absolutely bafflingly good production choices, everywhere on here, I couldn't have asked for more. Honestly.
Kanye West Late Registration
I feel like the sum of the parts of Late Registration are better than the whole, as opposed to rMBDFT, where the whole is better than the sum of the parts.rSo, I like every song individually in Registration, but it doesn't seem as coherent of an album
Kate Bush Hounds of Love
rThis is considered by many to be the greatest pop album ever, and I can definitely see why, it?s incredibly original, the production is god-like and Kate Bush?s voice has become a defining and influential part of the musical world, basically being the one who created dreampop and influenced shoegazey production. And as much as I can see that on multiple excellent tracks like A Dream Of Sheep, Jig Of Life or Hello Earth, Kate Bush?s voice has always been incredibly annoying to me and as much as I want to love her, I just can?t not hate her voice. She?s insufferable on tracks like The Big Sky or Under Ice, she sounds like Cyndi Lauper on there, and my ears don?t like it. So I understand the importance of this record and its influence, but there?s like a tiny annoying itch that I can never scratch whenever I hear it.r
Kayo Dot Choirs of the Eye
I didn?t know metal could be this soothing. Well, it?s not like that all the time, the record has its fair share of more harsh moments. But the contrast from the hard metal to the soft soothing fingerpicking guitar with Thom Yorke-inspired vocals work extremely well. The kinda vague lyrics felt weird to me, and I wasn?t so good at picking them up either, since English isn?t my first language, but their descriptions felt really interesting especially at the end of the opening track. I could very well understand how this is a top tier metal record, because the production is really great and the lyrics are really great, even though I haven?t been able to decipher them fully.
Keane Hopes & Fears
Keane's defining schtick is the piano, which is always used so beautifully in so many original ways. It doesn't not achieve what Under The Iron Sea does in terms of musical storytelling and piano usage, but an amazing record. I might say an underrated
Keane Strangeland
I think I like this better than Hopes and Fears, but I'd need to relisten to both.
Kendrick Lamar DAMN.
Where it feels like gkmc and TPAB were albums that Kendrick needed to do and people needed to listen to, DAMN is more an album that Kendrick wanted to make. It's much more relaxed and fun, and there's nothing wrong with that. He decided to have fun, just because he really enjoys it and that's great. Duckworth is top 5 Kendrick. There, I said it.
Kero Kero Bonito Time 'n' Place
Half of the songs are bangers of spatial levels, the other half are slightly disappointing, which makes for a interesting view into one of pop's greatest innovators.
Kid Cudi Man on the Moon: The End of Day
A true classic, it had a great impact and I think that my enjoyment would change depending on my mood.rStill a damn fine record
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard I'm In Your Mind Fuzz
You know you think the album's hit its peak after the 4 part title track, but then you get amazing songs like Slow Jam 1, this album manages to keep the insane quality of its opening and that's great.
Lana Del Rey Norman Fucking Rockwell!
My biggest problem with Lana Del Rey's music is that even though she's incredibly talented, to me, she's never been able to translate said talent into a full length album, but with this one, I've been proven wrong. Even though there's a lot of disappointing tracks on the back half, still a very impressive record.
Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin IV
This album has 4 of the most iconic rock songs of all time. Black Dog, Rock N? Roll, Stairway To Heaven and When The Levee Breaks are still to these days, classic pieces of music that are still talked about to this day. And I can say that the other songs in the album actually reach the same quality as those four. And while I can say with certainty that I revisit these songs quite often, it?s not something that I really find interesting to revisit as an album. But it holds its place among the greatest rock albums of all time, that?s for sure.
Little Simz Grey Area
While I can't say it's as coherently good as SIMBI, there some absolute gems on here, Selfish is so amazing.
Lorde Melodrama
The songwriting, and lyrics are honestly excellent. It flows extremely well, Lorde delivers great vocal performances and the story the album tells is really interesting. Weirdly enough, I thought that the slower piano ballads were better than the bombastic pop songs. My only problem with the record is that I found the production to be a little inconsistent. It doesn't adapt extremely well to the changes in Lorde's voice and the booming bass, doesn't fit certain tracks where some would need more of said bass. It's gonna take me more listens to get over that little hiccup of mine and give it a higher score, but for now, it's great.
Lucy Dacus Home Video
Dude, how great is it, that the three members of boygenius all came out with 3 amazing albums in a row. That being said, I gotta say the composition in this album didn't do really much for me, but the lyrics, omg. So many great lines, probably the best written out of HOme Video, Lilttle Oblivions and Punisher.
Ludwig van Beethoven Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125
Ode to Joy is kinda the song you hear the most in a musical training sort of environment and I love it of course, but sorta sick of it?
Luiz Bonfa Introspection
Mac Miller Faces
I didn't expect to like this as much as I did, Mac is as relatable as he is funny, he just comes off as a great guy on here and I guess that's what makes his work so cool.
Mac Miller Circles
A shame that we had to wait for Mac's death to get his best album, truly one of the greats.
Matt Berninger Serpentine Prison
I had known Matt Berninger from Walking on A String, a collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers. And Serpentine is Matt Berninger at what he does best. A solid folk release that isn't revolutionary or anything, but a perfectly fine release nonetheless.
Maya Hawke Blush
Upon watching Maya Hawke in Stranger Things, I've started to realize that I'm attracted to this girl. Part of my attraction to her is her voice. So it was only normal that I would really like her music. The guitar is original and satisfying, the songs are well written, the voice is angelic, it's not the most groundbreaking album, but doesn't try to be. It's a very chill listen that I would recommend to anyone.
Metallica Master of Puppets
I don?t know if it?s controversial, but I think I prefer the Black album. I grew up listening to Metallica and they still hold extremely well, now that I?ve grown up. I?m pretty sure I would consider this the quintessential metal record, first because of how influential it is, but also, because it represents the genre eextremely well. Each track bangs is extremely well produced, I really like the Cthulu mention in Welcome Home and even though I?m again, not a massive of metal lyricism, I can get around most of the ones in this album, cause they?re accompanied by great riffs that are impressive all the way through. And it of course deserves its place among the greatest.
MF DOOM MM.. Food
Better than the debut. The starting 3 songs are incredible.
Michael Jackson Off the Wall
It doesn't bop or bang as much as Thriller, but it jams way much than Thriller.
Miles Davis Kind of Blue
What started as an uninteresting, almost boring record became sort of comforting. There's a certain warmth and familiarity that emanes from this record, which is really weird. Jazz does that to you I guess.
Miles Davis In a Silent Way
I?ll say this: Miles Davis is the most influential jazz artist of all time. That?s for sure, but since we?re talking about jazz, this takes a whole new meaning. Because jazz is a constantly evolving, always new genre, with almost no limits. This means that every innovation that Davis made, was to make way for others to make it their own. And plenty did, with great success, which is why it?s great to judge a jazz record. Because, I can clearly see Davis?s influence, but I can?t help but feel like I know a heck of a lot of people who picked up where he left off and made it better. But at the end of the day, it?s still great to see where it all began. Modern jazz?s father is still one of the best, and it?s still important to know where the genre came from, even if to me, it?s not its greatest achievement.r
Mitski Laurel Hell
I expected this to be not great, first because most people seemed disappointed by it and second because I'm not that much a fan of Mitski, turns out it's really fucking great.
Modern Baseball Sports
I think MB are the kings of "relatable" rock. These songs are not only very interestingly composed, but also effortlessly "fell good"
Modest Mouse The Golden Casket
Didnt expect to like it that much, but damn Modest Mouse came with some surprisingly catchy melodies, its for sure not as good as LCW, but I really enjoyed it
Modest Mouse The Lonesome Crowded West
I really love Modest Mouse's sound, but this album did not completely work for me, but I'm 100% sure that another one of their albums will click for me and it'll be amazing.
Mumm-Ra These Things Move In Threes
Superb debut album, but upon revisiting it and listening to their second record, I'm starting to see the album's flaws
Mumm-Ra Rarities
I've endlessly praised the intensity of Mumm-ra's debut and how incredibly underrated it was. This year, they surprised us with another album out of the blue. It's really good. It's much more upbeat and fun than the previous one. Although it kinda falls down at the end, they're still amazing and I have no idea why they're so unknown.rI can't stress enough how Lizzie Lu is the perfect pop-rock song.
Muse Origin of Symmetry
Again, I like this album less and less the more I listen to it, it's got some very good songs, but I never feel the need to revisit them.
Muse Absolution
I can't wrap my head around how good this band is. I don't have any words to describe how good these guys are. Muse is the best group ever. I don't think there will be an album streak as good as Muse's. No one came even close.rThe more time passes, the more Absolution climbs the ladder in my Muse. While the others probably have better songs, I feel like Absoluton is more cohesive, more inventive
My Bloody Valentine Loveless
This production is insane and the impact it had on the music industry is simply astonishing. It launched the genre of shoegaze, it influenced how everyone would produce ambience, echoes and saturation. And it still holds up amazingly well by today?s standards. But as far as shoegaze goes, this is definitely not among my favorite records of that genre. Maybe it?s because I prefer my shoegaze singing, more operatic, but this record really never has been what I looked for in terms of shoegaze, but I totally understand the people that do and clearly understand the legendary status the album has achieved.
My Chemical Romance Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
It is really under Black Parade, but there's a lot of quality songs in this
Nils Frahm Tripping with Nils Frahm
The man doesn't miss
Nine Inch Nails With Teeth
This a lot weaker than Downward Spiral cuz the production, lyrics and composition aren't as intense as Spiral. But there's songs on there that are top of the top NIN , like Getting Smaller and Right Were It Belongs
Nirvana Nevermind
Can't believe it took me so long to listen to this. Absolute classic, can't say there's anything wrong with it. Great record.
Nirvana In Utero
Nujabes Modal Soul
I listened to this one relatively close to Nujabes' first album and I was kinda disappointed, to me, it really wasn't as good as the first, but maybe time will make appreciate this one a lot more.
Olafur Arnalds re:member
Opeth Still Life
I really loved this, the production was excellent and the songwriting was incredibly original. I like the fact that it had a storyline and it was well written, but my only criticism of the album is that I wasn?t able to completely follow, because I imagine this follows Opeth?s previous albums?s storylines. And I feel like it would hit me much more if I had listened to their previous work. I understand that this stands as an important group and album for metal, so I understand its placement, and it?s gonna get a lot and a lot better as I get to know the band better.
Orelsan La fete est finie
The mix of funny lyricism, interesting wordplay, and important discussion of fame and the human condition makes this a pillar of french rap.
Peach Pit You and Your Friends
Great indie pop record. I realize that I don't have much to say, but I really liked this.
Pink Floyd The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Piper is kinda awesome, the group that would dominate the genre of prog rock, just did a psychedelic rock masterpiece just for the hell of it. It feels so alien to the rest of Floyd's dicog, which is why in the scheme of the group, it's not an album I'd revisit a lot. But with Interstellar Overdrive and Bike, this was weirdly awesome.
Pink Floyd A Saucerful of Secrets
Saucerful is to me, a more Pink Floyd version of Piper. Which is why it makes a generally more familiar listen, and you got what you've paid for. But at the same time, it's not as weirdly cool an experience as Piper, although it's very solid and is a great entry for the group's discography.
Pink Floyd Atom Heart Mother
I don't know how much of this album's weight is carried by the opening track, but it's a lot
Radiohead Amnesiac
Amnesiac is a grower, it's usually low on people's lists, but I'm telling you, the more you listen to it, the more it starts to make sense. It's too easy to label it: Kid A Side B. It's much more than that.
Radiohead A Moon Shaped Pool
The most beautiful radiohead album. Sort of musical beauty that is very reminiscent of Nude.
redveil Learn 2 Swim
Refused The Shape Of Punk To Come
rI?m not the biggest metalhead, but I thoroughly enjoyed this. I feel like the lyrics, while well written, don?t actually tell something very interesting in the songs and the albums as a whole, but I think that the reason why this album is loved so much is because the production is extremely varied and has aged really well. It introduces electronic elements, that I?ve not seen a lot in metal, and switches very often from soft fingerpicked guitars, to hard strummed metal ones, and it always sounds great. The drums are exceptional, I thought it was so cool, when they switched from metal to a kind of soft, swing drum with that jazz bass, in The Deadly Rhythm. Overall, I think this is a must-listen if you like metal, if you?re not, it could be interesting for you to check it out, although the lacking in the lyrics department can maybe leave you aside.r
Rosalia Motomami
Its exactly as advertised: exquisite pop
Ruben Gonzalez Introducing...
Yeah, I very much I liked it, but I felt like if I'D show this to ANYONE they'd say its background music
Run the Jewels RTJ4
I don't know if RTJ4 is the best place to start, but this was a damn fine record. Stellar rapping and rhymes all over the place, the production is minimalistic, but still hits you in the good way.
Rush Moving Pictures
Rush is my dad?s favorite band, I?ve grown up listening to much of their stuff and listened to him tell me how great the band is countless times, to the point where I consider Neil Peart to be the greatest drummer of all time. This album is pretty fantastic, it?s the band at its peak of musical talent, with some great lyrics about conformity. Theme that i absolutely central to the band for many reasons. For example, their original sound and Getty Lee?s unconventional voice is something that producers were afraid of, at the beginning of their career, also, Rush were a bunch of nerds, big name bands would invite to big parties, and they would refuse and spend their time reading books. Peart?s knowledge of literature adds a really cool dimension to Rush?s lyrics and it?s on full display here, with some of their best tracks. As an album though, this one is not my favorite. Moving Pictures has some of the band?s best tracks, like Tom Sawyer, YYZ and Limelight. But I feel like the album as a whole needs a line to follow, a bigger sense of opening and closure. It?s definitely an album where I?d revisit the tracks individually, but as a whole, definitely not as much.
Sade Soldier Of Love
Solid release. It's incredible how much the side B is better than the side A. She has an awesome voice coupled with some great folky instrumentals, that could get annoying, but not for me. Overall, I feel like the songs individually were better than the album as a whole which is why it doesn't get higher than a 4
Sigur Ros Agætis byrjun
I didn't find meaning, or standout, on first listen, but that beautifully calming sound is something I'll be sure to come back to.
Soccer Mommy Color Theory
It's so goddamn fun and a surprise, as I had never heard of her before.
Sons of Kemet Your Queen Is a Reptile
Yo, africa is leagues ahead of us, dude r
Spellling The Turning Wheel
When I learned that Fantano gave a 10 to a pop record, I got pretty hyped, turns out it's really good, and I think it'll grow on me with each additional listen.
Squid Bright Green Field
Not the biggest punk or post punk fan in the world, so I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did, but the electronics are mixed in so well, it just sounds great all the way through, thought the lyrics were a little weird, but I didn't pay much attention, a relisten could bring this down or up.
St. Vincent Actor
On first listen, this is pretty great, but I'm reading the future right now and I know that on 10th listen, it's gonna be in my top albums of all timer
St. Vincent Daddy's Home
This was my entry point into Clark's work and I was very impressed. First of all, she's a fantastic lyricist and executes the concept of the album amazingly. I also found that she's a very interesting composer. Her songs are really original, so I see a very big potential in her music, so I feel like it's fairly possible that her other works amaze me even more.
Steely Dan Aja
Great songwriting and storyrtelling, but after many listens, the song really start to get bland and a little too long. Josie and Deacon Blues are both masterful tracks tho. rSo great album, but very poor replay value IMO.
Stereolab Dots and Loops
Stromae Racine Carrée
I would describe Stromae as a thought-provoking incredibly original pop artist and that album is exactly that. It doesn't go beyond that and I wish it would, but it's a great album for sure.
Stromae Multitude
Sante is such an incredible banger. I was absolutely floored with how good this was in the first half of the tracklist and it was everything I hoped for in a Stromae album, it's sad that this lost me in its second half. Still a great album
Sufjan Stevens Illinois
This is insane album, it's gorgeous all the way through and incredibly interesting, but at the same time, I'd need a second listen to fully differentiate the tracks, cause it uses a relatively similar structure and chord progression on a lot of tracks, which made them blend together. The lyrics and storytelling are out of this world though.
Talking Heads Remain in Light
This is one of 2 records on this list that is a testament on how amazing of a producer Brian Eno is. His electronic influences on rock and pop are some of the most important musical advancements of all time. And you can totally see that here. The electronic elements mash incredibly well with David Byrne?s monotonous vocals, but the real star of the show is the percussions. Oh my god, there?s a great influence of afrobeat, and the drums are always so varied and so engaging, usually with great guitar riffs. This is also the only record on the list that I think I could say that its quality is hypnotizing. The production is constructed in a way to always keep your brain into it. And that?s a testament to great music. It is a fairly monotonous record, which is why it doesn?t really strike an emotional chord with me, but it is a truly great album that deserves its place here.
The Antlers Green to Gold
It was very weird for the group that made the most emotionally devastating album I've ever to go towards a more happier, laid back sound, especially at the beginning at the record, but by the end, this became sort of comforting and warm, especially for a band that I've always known to be so cold.
The Beach Boys Pet Sounds
It deserves a lot of recognition, partly for being the first ?concept? album, but it also does for it?s out of this world production. The vocals with those incredible harmonies are something that had never been done before, and haven?t been really done as well, I thin, afterwards. It gives for some anthemically strong choruses, like ln Wouldn?t It Be Nice or God Only Knows, but I think the album shines even more on more instrumental and melancholic tracks, such as Let?s Go Away For A While, the title track, or Caroline, This is a very important album for the world of music and it?s great that it?s here. It?s a monument and I won?t be the guy who says otherwise.
The Beatles Abbey Road
Classic. The one that got me into listening to albums. The Beatles aren't my favorite group, depending on who writes the song, my appreciation varies, but I won't deny that this album is one of the GOAT
The Cure Bloodflowers
I think that thematically it closes out the trilogy pretty well, and there are some amazing tracks on this record. Out of This World and the title track are amazing and The Last Day Of Summer is a top 10 Cure song, but a lot of 'em just fall flat. The great is great but there's a lot of mid.
The Cure Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me
I find the major difference between Disintegration and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, extremely interesting. I really liked this, it's a perfectly fine pop record.
The Cure 4:13 Dream
Following the disappointment that was their self titled, I expected this to suck balls, turns out they went back to their old formula, adding a little grunge from the self titled, which make for a great project. And even tho it might not be it, if this was the last Cure album, I'd be fine with it.
The Dear Hunter Act III: Life and Death
At this point, I've only listened to Acts 1 to 3 and I think the third opus is the best in terms of lyrics, but 2 is much better musically speaking. 2>3>1
The Dillinger Escape Plan Option Paralysis
The Flaming Lips Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Electric Ladyland
Even though this is Jimi Hendrix?s greatest work, I still don?t really care about his music. I don?t know why, but whenever I listen to his albums, I always feel like I?m like not welcome there. Of course, I can easily see the gargatuous amount of influence he had on music, but it?s never something that I find myself wanting to relisten to again. And it?s frustrating cause I can?t even manage to see what it is about his music that I just don?t really care for. The record is pretty long, but then again, i feel that in every song even the first ones, I?m not a fan of his voice, but many other singer sang like him and I don?t mind them, the lyrics are macho and not interesting, but I?m not a lyric guy, so that doesn?t really matter to me. I don?t know. There are so many great things about this record and I?ll be the first to admit that, unfortunately I am absolutely not there for it.r
The Killers Hot Fuss
Great pop-rock album, but to me isn't the climax of what the group can do in terms of songwriting and musical performances.
The Killers Sam's Town
The album starts okay, then becomes excellent in the end, with great songs like Uncle Jonny, My List, The River Is Wild and Why Do I Keep Counting.
The Killers Battle Born
Battle Born is to The Killers whereas X and Y is to Coldplay. An album with very good songs, but not a very coherent album
The Millennium Begin
Virgin Beatles fan vs Chad The Millenium Enjoyer
The Polyphonic Spree The Beginning Stages Of...
I feel like people underrate this album strictly because of its closer, a 35 minute long repetition of this simple voice riff. Which kinda makes the album really disappointing, but if you take out that song, this album is really really great.
The Roots undun
I'm a fan of the concept on paper, but in the actual, it actually doesn't work that well for me. I mean Black Thought is great as always and Questlove delivers a really great production, but I don't something didn't click with me.
The Seatbelts Cowboy Bebop
Let me start by saying that this is my favorite TV show of all time. The soundtrack is amazing. It is also very big, so to release the soundtrack as albums, the setbelts had to release it into 3. Which means, that this album doesn?t even contain the greatest tracks of the show. It?s just the tracks used in the first third of the show. I also think they?re in order. So, as an album, it?s not great, cause the flow from track to track is not incredible, plus it?s not even the best tracks for the show. It?s still a good ass soundtrack and really great at every genre it touches.
The Seatbelts Future Blues
The Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Really awesome rock records that manage to do both the intense rock epics like Butterfly as Bullets or Muzzle as well as beautiful ballads such as In the Arms Of Sleep. I'm not the biggest fan of 90s alt-rock, so I'm not sure if that was really for me, but I'd really recommend this to any alt-rock fan cuz this is a masterpiece.
The Voidz Virtue
I really admire what The Voidz's innovations in terms of rock. Their production is very excellent. But I think that their songs would work much if they would be stretched out to more than 2-3 minutes. The songs I love from The Voidz are the ones that really alienate you for a long time, then becoming very warm in the chorus with guitar harmonies. This album's stacked tracklist doesn't really allow it to do that. Regardless, I'm very excited to see what these guys do next.
The Weather Station Ignorance
Went into this completely blind and really didn't hate it. The Lana Del Rey/shoegaze voicestyle works well with the Fleetwood Mac instrumentation. It's not groundbreaking by any mean, but I had fun with it.
The Weeknd Dawn FM
It feels incredible when you have an artist that you like but haven't fully loved an album of their and they finally put the record that makes you go wow.
Therapie TAXI Hit Sale
FRENCH POP BABY YESSSSSSSSSSS I LOVE IT
They Might Be Giants They Might Be Giants
Thom Yorke Anima
Feels great to have Thom back to his dystopian OK Computer/Kid A roots, with really great lyrics and electronic instrumentals that fits him very well, much better than in KOL actually. Dawn Chorus is one of the greatest songs he's ever written.
Tom Waits Rain Dogs
I really wished there was a bigger narrative throughout the album. As it is, it?s 19 really fun tracks of very orginal and one of a kind singer-songwriter music. Seriously this sounds like nothing I?ve ever heard. I got that magic of discovering a new kind of music, randomly and really loving it. It?s bizarre, cool at times, really funny, the instrumentaion is extremely varied and original. I have very few negative criticisms of the album, the only thing is that I would really like to see Tom Waits tell a much bigger story throughout a whole album, rather than a collection of small songs. Great find.
Turnstile Glow On
I saw a meme by Theokayestcomputer that said that ''turnstile's new music was so good, people were literally shitting themselves''. On first listen, I shitted. On second listen, it did nothing for me. Further listens will determine if it goes up or down.
Tyler, the Creator Wolf
As harsh as it may seem, the setting of the camp, the storyline about a love triangle, very reminiscent of classic teen movies, this album is strangely comforting and familiar. Tyler proves even with his violent lyrics, he can still put out great tracks, even going to a new range being really great at bringing storytelling on songs like Colossus or Lone. It's a great album and man, with a streak of amazing albums I'm starting to feel like Tyler will go up a lot in my rappers' ranking. He's awesome.
Tyler, the Creator Call Me If You Get Lost
One of the things I like about Tyler's music is that it's very on line with its generation, Tyler has always been one to hide his thoughts through characters, and this feels like him at his most Tyler, at his most transparent. The feelings of feeling lost make this record the most relatable Tyler record, especially with the pandemic going on. It has flaws, it's a little all over the place and inconsistent, but the highs are high. Tyler comes back once again with his unique production and style that only he can do. And it's great.
Weezer Weezer
It's so easy to understand how much of a classic this album has become. It might be one of the finest debut albums ever.
Wire Pink Flag
Wolf Alice Blue Weekend
Surprised at how varied this is. Not only is there the awaited Lana Del Rey explosive vocal outros in a lot of songs, but also, it fucking rocks on certain tracks. I only knew one song from Wolf Alice before, but damn this is really good.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Requiem in D minor, K. 626
Cant go wrong with Requiem cant you?
Xiu Xiu A Promise
I liked the lyrics that paired well with the constantly changing production, from harsh and hard to listen to soft. I however thought that it brought it a little too far at times. Which gave it a kinda pretentious vibe, but as a whole this thing is really great.
Yes Close to the Edge
rMany consider this the greatest prog rock of all time, and I disagree, but I can definitely see why. For once, it?s one of the most interesting in terms of instrumentation. It?s really original and impressive the instruments that are used here. Like, there?s a harpsichord. Who the heck puts a harpsichord. It?s really original and super easy to go back to. To me, it doesn?t compare to the other prog rock records that will show up later in this ranking. But, I?m not mad, it?s a damn fine record and I can easily understand why people like it so much.r

3.5 great
A Tribe Called Quest We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service
I gotta tell you, by looking at the tracklist, I fully expected this to be my favorite Tribe album. It really wasn't. Tip, Phife and Jarobi, also, were of course, still great. But there was something missing. Ali Shaheed Muhammad. It was while listening to this record that I realized how truly underrated and important Ali was to Tribe. His absence from the producer role really impacted this record in a bad way. Still, a pretty good goodbye for the group.
alt-J An Awesome Wave
This was hit or miss for me. These guys are very clearly original, so sometimes, the songs worked wonders, and sometimes, not as good.
American Football American Football
At first I really didn't like it. I didn't get the point, the songs seemed too long and repetitive, but for some reason. Towards the end of the record, the album kinda started to make sense to me. I'm gonna definitely need to rewatch
Anderson .Paak Malibu
I think Paak is an amazing musician, I quite like his songwriting too, but I think he's a subpar composer, that's why I like him so much in Silk Sonic and that's what brings down this record. But there are some amazing songs on there. Especially the dreamer.
Angele Nonante-Cinq
I think it's great that Angele has the popularity she has. She's quite a great vocalist with insightful lyrics on society, being a woman or a pop star, so even though her composition aren't always the most original thing, she's a lot of fun to listen to.
Animal Collective Merriweather Post Pavilion
As bizarre as it is peaceful. It kinda has the effect of the Minecraft soundtrack
Animal Collective Strawberry Jam
I like Anco's production but the lyrics on this album didn't really work for me, making for an experience that I definitely enjoyed, but I'm sure there are other records in their discog that I would like a lot more.
Another Michael New Music And Big Pop
I think I've grown apart from the indie pop scene, it's kinda nice to be back, theses tracks are really introspective and interesting, but I think they should've bopped more.
Antonio Vivaldi The Four Seasons
Of course it?s onw of the greatest classical pieces of all time, it has stood the test of time and is as iconic as one would think. But I?m not much of a Baroque guy. I feel like my favorite classical pieces mostly came in the Romantic era. That?s not to say that this piece isn?t amazing. It executes perefectly its concept, never gets long, it?s fresh everytime I revisit it, but unfortunately I don?t revisit much often.
Aphex Twin ...I Care Because You Do
To me, very easily Aphex Twin's worse album. It's still great, but I feel like everything that this album does is better in every other Twin records.
Arcade Fire Funeral
Never truly got the hype for Arcade Fire, this album made me understand it at some rare points, but mostly, I sill feel it's overrated. Maybe another listen will make me a huge fan of this.
Ariana Grande positions
Surprising. With awesome vocals (as always) and a production that is very reminiscent of old romantic songs, Ariana manages to create a solid pop record. The theme of sex is well used, being pretty sweet at times. Songs like positions, pov are songs that will every popular and rightfully so.
Ariana Grande Yours Truly
With her still rising popularity, I feel like Grande always tried to go too far, which never really worked. This one feels so much more like her. The production lets her voice shine even more, and those silly lyrics work well, more than what she tried to do later in her career and failed.
Atoms for Peace Amok
Surprisingly pretty good. It shows each member's individual vocals, with cool ambient production, it does not come close to what any member has done with other projects, but it's a nice listen.
Autechre Tri Repetae
Baby Keem DIE FOR MY BITCH
Bad Brains Bad Brains
Bartees Strange Farm To Table
beabadoobee Beatopia
Beach House Once Twice Melody
The weird structure of this album kinda didn't work for me, but I can see this getting better for me by the end of the year
Big Thief U.F.O.F.
I really love the title track and some others here and there, but there are many tracks which just don't work as much as I would want them to be, making this album a little disappointing if you compare most of the tracklist to tracks that work so well.
Big Thief Masterpiece
I guess I gotta stop expecting every Big Thief album to be as good as DNWMIBIY
Billy Woods Aethiopes
Black Sabbath Paranoid
Since I?m not a massive fan of Master Of Reality, I didn?t expect to really like this one, but it turned out really well. While this has their greatest hits, I was struck with how varied the record was, the hard songs mesh really well, with the softer tracks, like Planet Caravan. Production was really varied and I really liked how they sometimes twist the guitar riffs, like on the opening of Iron Man. I?m again not a massive fan of Sabbath?s lyrics and its stoner attitude, but they weren?t really at the forefront here, and I didn?t pay much attention to them, cause what stands out is the really great production. Not enough to consider it one of the 100, for me. But still, a fine album by all means.
Bright Eyes I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
I didn't love this as much as I expected to. The lyrics didn't connect with me, although they're great, and normally while I love folk, the production on this record got a little boring over the course of my listening. Still a good album, it simply didn't do much for me.
Cardi B Invasion of Privacy
Insecure men on tiktok really hate this too much, it's full of trap bangers or more heartfelt songs that really show well, Cardi's versatility as a rapper
cavetown Sleepyhead
Good songs, but with not that good production. As a result, I don't feel like the songs reach the potential they have, contrarily to Lemon Boy.
Charli XCX Crash
So I was excited for this, because I absolutely loved Charli's last two records, but I was extremely scared of this, because I think that every single one of the 5 singles absolutely SUCK. But as soon as you start the album, a weird thing happens because exactly half of the tracklist (including the 5 singles) is really bad but the rest is incredible bangers. This is Charli at her most mainstream since she went full hyper and to do that, she uses some pop trends that are extremely extremely extremely outdated. Especially with the song Used To Know Me which is an awful song. With this album having exactly half bangers and half suckers, it's weird that the bad songs don't drag the album and it sounds pretty good as an album.
Chick Corea Now He Sings, Now He Sobs
Album starts off amazing, gets kinda stale near the end, but I can definitely see why this is considered a classic.
clipping. Visions of Bodies Being Burned
I'm 100% sure I did not fully like this album, because I listened to it in a car, I'm sure that at 3 AM, sitting in bed, this is amazing.
Coldplay Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends
Although it is a very good album, with some interesting concept songs like 42 or Yes. I'm kinda mad at it. Because, to me, the enormous success of Viva La Vida pushed Coldplay in a more poppy, dance sound, which made them significantly worse.
Cordae From a Birds Eye View
Super is this year's greatest banger and you can't change my mind
Daft Punk Human After All
Since I love RAM and Discovery, I fully expected to hate this one, and it was quite alright. Switched the dance and disco focus from their other albums to rock and dubstep and it works very well for some tracks. Technologic, the title track and More Life are very good. But it is true that is very underwhelming compared to the rest of the robots' discography.
Daft Punk Homework
cant believe I hadnt rated this before, but yeah highs are very highs, lows are very low, I think it's kinda like Human After All, cool overall, but with some low lows bringing it down.
Damso Lithopédion
A little under Ipseite, but still a damn fine record
Danny Brown Atrocity Exhibition
This solidifies the fact that I don't just hate Yeezus because it's an experimental rap album. I hate it because it's bad.
David Bowie Lodger
A VERY weird way to end the Berlin trilogy, it's just really missing the electronic half that makes the other 2 so good.
David Bowie Diamond Dogs
This is kinda the The Top (by The Cure) because it's a transitional record that sees the artist make the halfway point between the rock of his early career and the pop of his later. That being said, it's a lot better than The Top, and while its important and the style of the album is very special, to me it falls in the uncanny valley or rock and pop and it doesn't work so much for me
David Bowie Let's Dance
Musically, Bowie can do no wrong in my book, but I don't think his deep haunting voice fits so well throughout these pop tracks.
Death Human
I didn?t expect to like this, but I did, the album has a lot of interesting time signatures and composing tricks, which made for an interesting listen. And since I?m normally not a fan of Death Metal, I was glad that I was able to enjoy this as much as I did, the problem were the lyrics, they are so weird, but not interesting weird, weird in the sense that it made me uncomfortable. And maybe that?s what it was going for? If so, I could understand why metal fans like it, because it is very anti-norm, but for me, it really didn?t work that much. Together as One, a song about siamese twins is something that really didn?t work for me. But as far as Death Metal goes, this group is probably the most important in the genre, so I can understand its place here, even though it?s not my cup of tea. But the production, especially on songs like Cosmic Sea has aged wonderfully and along with impressive instrumentation, it makes for an interesting record nonetheless.r
Death Symbolic
The thing about Symbolic is that even though it?s a Death record and it?s great, I feel like it?s a little boring, especially since there is another Death record on here that I feel is way better. Even at its worst points the other record felt more interesting, whereas this just didn?t so much for me. Of course Death are pioneers of the metal genre and you can see their good production here as well. I just feel like it?s not one I would revisit as much. I just don?t really feel like this should be regarded as the band?s best work.
Dinosaur Jr. Sweep It Into Space
I kinda listened to Glow On (Turnstile), Ska Dream (Rosenstock) and this back to back, and even tho I gotta say it's good, it's the one that left smallest impact on me out of those 3.
Doja Cat Planet Her
Doja Cat is the type of artist that's so charismatic and entertaining, that she's great on any song she's on. And it's definitely the case on her record. The songs feel a little redundant, so it feels a little jarring the more you sit this through, but she's Doja Cat, she does her thing, and I think that's the only thing you need to know if you ever hesitate to listen to this record or not.
Dua Lipa Future Nostalgia
Really impressive. Lipa creates a myriad of catchy pop anthems, fully exploiting the name of the album. Futuristically nostalgic.
Earl Sweatshirt I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside
As a pretty big fan of Some Rap Songs and Solace, I can't say I'm disappointed, but for me, I think that Earl hasn't fully reached the point where his style is defined. It's definitely a little more over the place, but he's still an insane rhymer and a great lyricist. He's going up in my rappers ranking. I also feel like Earl would work so much better alone than with features, but maybe it's just me.
Elton John Honky Chateau
I've always been a fan of Elton, but before the time I started listening to albums, as a result, my Elton expectations are so high, that it brought down my enjoyment. I'm sure it is really great, but my personal history made it so that this was a disappointing listen.
Ennio Morricone The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
As iconic as it is, I understand its place, but like most other scores on this list, it?s not something that I would revisit often. The score is so integral to me and adds so much to it, I tihnk this is the movie on here that would suffer the most if you took out the music. I really love the film and I loce the score too, Ecstasy of Gold is still one of the most epic tracks ever written, it?s just not that I think stands especially well on its own.
Ethel Cain Preacher's Daughter
Father John Misty Pure Comedy
THe album starts at 10/10, then 9/10, then 6, then 7
Fleetwood Mac Rumours
I don't think this is a masterpiece, but it is a damn fun time
Freddie Gibbs and Madlib Bandana
Even though I could understand how some people would love this album, having listened to it almost immediately after Pinata, I kept comparing the two, and kept being disappointed with this one, because I find Pinata so much better
Genesis Owusu Smiling with No Teeth
How do you categorize this album? No, seriously, it's so inventive, it's hard to feel a certain way after having heard it. It's incredibly impressive, but it's so like varied in styles, that I don't know in what kind of mood I would have to be to revisit that.
Gordon Goodwins Big Phat Band Life in the Bubble
I really like Gordon Goodwin and much of the songs in this album are great, but I feel like they don't work so well as a coherent album. It's a good collection of songs, but not as much an album.
Hatfield And The North The Rotter's Club
Great prog rock album and great find. I ADORE Mumps, it's probably one of the best prog rock songs ever, but the rest of the album kinda paled in comparison. Was a good experience for sure, but not a great one for me.
Hippo Campus Bambi
I think this one is way better than Landmark, there's still an indecision as to what the band truly wants to be, but the potential for both is better exploited here. And the drummer's not as bad.
Howard Shore The Return of the King
Yes, it?s LOTR is the best film trilogy of all time, yes the score is amazing, bla bla bla. As an album, this is still the worst score out of the 3. At this point in the franchise, I feel like the greatest themes come from earlier in the series. As an album, it still embodies the problems of other scores on this list. It?s great, but it?s really not something I?d revisit a lot of. It works much better in the movie than on its own. That, plus the fact that it?s the worst score in the trilogy, makes it so, I understand why the score is here, but I also don?t quite agree. There are some films that I would die to revisit the soundtrack, but Return Of The King is not one of them, even though it?s a great score.
Howard Shore The Fellowship of the Ring
Ah yes, the best score for the best film of the trilogy. It?s the one with the most iconic songs, that are maybe also its best. It?s as good as creating action in the more suspense-driven scenes, but also to be relaxing and familiar towards the beginning and the end. It?s still a fairly straight-forward soundtrack, with no intention of being listened to as an album. It?s a collection of the songs in the movie, but it doesn?t stand on its own, like the other scores.
ichika She Waits Patiently
Isaiah Rashad The House Is Burning
This album was pretty alright, there are some great beats and Zay is a fine rapper by all means, but the quality of the tracks varies constantly having some big hits and some big misses
J Dilla Welcome 2 Detroit
James Blake Friends That Break Your Heart
Great production, and I love some of the early tracks, but the album completely loses me near the end
John Williams Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope
One of the most iconic soundtracks for one of the most popular, acclaimed, and iconic movies of all time. What can I say about it, well, a few things? First of all, it?s amazing. Second of all, I think it?s the least amazing soundtrack of the trilogy and while it adds so much to the movie, this is not something I would revisit a lot as a solo thing. Johhny W. brings his A-game and manages to complement each part of the movie fantastically. It?s the type of soundtrack that when you listen to it, you can picture the exact scene it was composed for. And that?s really something great. Even though I gotta say it?s not something I?ll go back to a lot
John Williams Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
This shares the same problem as most scores on this list, it?s amazing, the best in the saga, even, but it?s still not something that I feel deserves to be listened to on its own. It?s like asking you to listen to the film without the music, I feel like the tracks can?t go without the film. Even though these are to me, the greatest tracks of the entire saga of films: Yoda and The Force, Han Solo and the Princess, and The Duel are my favorite Star wars tracks ever, but its not something that I find interesting to listen to as an album, and few are the soundtracks that manage to do that, this one included.
Josh Fudge Fun Times
Not revolutionnary by any means, but that's fine, not every album strives to be a masterpiece, it's nice to have some sweet bedroom pop once in a while
Joy Division Closer
JPEGMAFIA Black Ben Carson
Production varies in quality, it just feels very slow, which is very weird compared to other Peggy projects.
Kendrick Lamar Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers
Kid Cudi Man on the Moon III: The Chosen
You know, I relistened to MOTM before the 3rd opus and I gotta say honestly, I kinda forgot about everything in this record. People will of course compare Travis Scott and I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, but in the end, I feel like it feels a lot less unique than the first opus. More listens will help me solidify my opinion, but on a first listen, I feel like the songs blend together and the album blends together with other trap albums.
Kids See Ghosts Kids See Ghosts
It's weird. I usually have very strong opinions on Kanye projects, but surprisingly for this one, I don't have much to say about it, it was definitely good.
Killer Mike R.A.P. Music
No matter how many times I force myself to listen to this album, I still always think that El-P is missing. They're both significantly better when together.
Kilo Kish American Gurl
King Crimson Red
By challenging myself to do this ranking, I was put in a difficult situation. Because since I have to jude these albums as the greatest of all time, I?m bound to be disappointed. And I kinda was by this record, but I can?t say exactly if it was because of it?s lacking quality or the fact that I judge it as a the 36th best album of all time. It?s a good album. King Crimson are great prog rockers and you can see that by the sheer amount of ideas in this record. The influence of jazz is a surprise to be sure but a welcome one, it works wonders in the closing track, but I feel like as a whole, this ended being a bit forgettable, the instrumentals did not do much for me. I can understand its placement to a certain extent, but I?ve seen better prog rock and I?ve seen better King Crimson.
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard L. W.
First KGLW album, people said this was a let down, but I didn't get it, I was pleasantly surprised. I knew that they released a thousand songs per year and that they did songs with half notes and weird signatures. Really liked the music on this. It had a very middle eastern that i especially enjoyed on O.N.E. and Pleura, great stuff, will check out more!
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Fishing For Fishies
A lot of people consider this to be top tier KGLW and I gotta say: overrated
LCD Soundsystem This Is Happening
I gotta say that the production is really impressive on this record. In kinda every way possible. All I want, a spiritual successor to Bowie's heroes really gives another meaning to the song, both in the production and the lyrics. But my problem with this record, aside from the Bowie track is the lyrics, to me, they really didn't do much, throughout the whole album. Still I'd recommend it if you like futuristic snappy production, a clearly must-listen in the genre.
Mdou Moctar Afrique Victime
Folklore is a very interesting subject. On one hand, it's an integral part of cultures, on the other hand, (speaking for my culture), musically it's not the best thing ever. I think it's very interesting to bring folklore tales and music to newer generations by giving them a new sound, so I think what this album does is very noble.
MF DOOM Operation: Doomsday
Solid rap album. Starts very well, ends well, kinda long in the middle
MGMT Little Dark Age
I really like certain songs from this, but I feel like they get annoying quickly and it doesn't work amazingly as an album. When You Die is such a bop tho.
Migos Culture III
Here's the thing: the Migos suck. I love them. Those conflicting feelings are always there, but they're such a fun group to turn your brain off while listening.
Mitski Be the Cowboy
The lyrics are really great, ususally coupled with good songs, but the album is just way too short, the songs become forgettable when they're a minute long.
Mobb Deep The Infamous
The 90s were arguably the most important period for rap music. Because it evolved the formula popularized by Grandmaster Flash?s The Message and NWA?s Straight Outta Compton. Both were meant to confront the rest of the world with problems the black community was facing. Flash went for the moral and NWA went for in your face. In the 90s, rap evolved to a more emotional side. And Mobb Deep did exactly that, and they did it very well, but in retrospect, why this album? The Infamous is a good album by all means, but to consider it the 6th greatest hip hop album of all time? No. It?s crazy the number of rap albums that I can cite from that decade that I think are better than The Infamous. Pac?s Me Against The World, Outkast?s Aquemini and Atliens, Jay-Z?s reasonable doubt, A Tribe Called Quest?s The Low-End Theory, Ice Cube?s first three albums, Dr. Dre?s The Chronic, Snoop Dogg?s Doggystyle. There are still some incredible tracks in this album. Cradle to the Grave and Shook Ones Pt. 2 are out of this world, but the album as a whole, clearly not enough for me to call it one of the greatest albums of all time, or one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time.
Modern Baseball You’re Gonna Miss It All
It's very good and shows real potential, but I think they really need to take a moment to breathe. The songs are very fast and short, which makes it so that the album doesn't have the capacity to sink in and leave that big of an impact.
Muse Showbiz
I love Muse, but it'd be fairly for me to understand why someone dislikes them. Although their albums are great. The Muse records aren't very different from one another. Which is why it makes Showbiz and Absolution more forgettable than OoS, Black Holes and Revelations and Resistance.rActually, I couldn't hum, or name any of the songs in this album. Muse slowly got worse overtime for me.
Muse The 2nd Law
The 2000s was an important decade for alt rock because it introduced and perfected electronics. Many bands like Radiohead made a shift towards more electronic sounds. Muse refused to be part of that revolution. So after The Resistance, which wasn't particularly well received, I feel like Bellamy jumped back on the electronics to try to be a crowdpleaser. Problem being that by 2012, not that it was too late, but if you make the switch to electronics, you gotta stay there. The sound in the 2nd Law isn't reused at all in Drones. The 2nd Law is weird. While The Resistance felt like a symphony, 2nd law feels like a discombobulated album with snappy, poppy electronics in them. Songs like Follow Me are a perfect example. Standouts include Isolated System and Explorers.
Mustafa When Smoke Rises
Ah yes, accoustic Giveon.
Nas King's Disease II
I did not ask for this, but this really isn't unpleasant, I guess
Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
I've heard people say that this is music nerds' favorite album, and I'm not that much of a music nerd, but it's really not hard to see why.
Olafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm Trance Frendz
Olivia Rodrigo Sour
I really liked the singles so I was fairly excited for the album, turns out it's good, but a little all over the place. Lyrically it's a mess, constantly going from remorseful, to angry, to jealous, to sad, back and forth, and the last track is a complete shift from the rest of the tracklist. Other than that, she's a great vocalist, backed up with surprisingly subtle production (compared to the singles), she's maybe still a little immature as a lyricist, but she's fine. She's really good at writing bridges and choruses, so I'm excited to see what she does in the future.
Opeth Blackwater Park
In a way, this is probably Opeth?s quitessential album. The recurring themes of love and death that are very much present in their previous work. It?s also maybe their more accessible record, but I don?t think that in a good way. Opeth?s previous records followed a narrative. Which means that it?s alienating for anyone who?s not aware of it, but super cool and rewarding for the fans of the group. In that way, I think Blackwater is one of their most uninteresting releases. It?s still very well produced, and well composed, the bridge in The Funeral Portrait is absolutely amazing, but the lack of narrative always makes this an uninteresting experience for me.
OutKast Stankonia
Listen, I think Andre 3000 is a top 10 rapper of all time and Big Boi probably a top 15 rapper of all time. But after listening to Aquemini, I had some negative things to say about the album, but I thought to myself maybe I'm crazy. Listening to this kinda confirmed my criticisms of Outkast. Because as great of rappers as they are, I think they're not that great on other levels. Their production on this record, is kinda lacking in my opinion, especially compared to Aquemini and I think on both records, that Outkast are absolutely awful at writing hooks. Their verses are amazing, but whenever they come back to that chorus, and they tend to do a lot, it's always really bad.
Perfume Genius Set My Heart On Fire Immediately
I like Perfume Genius and what he brings to the pop world, with great vocals and interesting instrumentation and production, so I was really anticipating this. rMan, I really wish I liked this album a lot more than I did.
Pink Floyd The Final Cut
This album represents very well how the group became a mess after Animals, so it's kinda all over the place and underwhelming. Even if there are some amazing tracks. The Post War Dream is one of their best openers.
Queen A Night at the Opera
OMG THIS IS SO NOT AS GOOD AS SHEER HEART ATTACK, HOW DO PEOPLE THINK THIS IS QUEEN'S BEST ALBUM, COME ON PEOPLE BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY ISNT THAT GOOD
Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime
As a massive film nerd and possibly aspiring filmmaker, I was expecting to really love this, since it?s a concept album and has a narrative, turns out I only thought it was okay. I dont know what didn?t work for me, but I?m sure many people would love this a lot more than me. It?s a story about a man, sick of a big capitalism-driven society who becomes an assassin for a pseudo terrorist organization. And i can very well understand why people love it so much. It?s very well written, with that classic 80s rock. But to me, it all felt lackluster and really didn?t have much of an impact on me.
Radiohead The King of Limbs
This is a weird album and that is saying a lot by Radiohead standards. Although I'm not completely into it (except Codex which is superb), I can totally why this would be someone's favorite Radiohead album. The unnatural-ness of many of the song's instrumentation is not my cup of tea, but I could totally see someone analyzing this album and thinking it's amazing. I'd be the person who respectfully listens even though I most probably disagree.
Rainbow Rising
You know it?s a perfectly fine record, it?s really fun, the lyrics are super weird, but if it?s your thing, good for you. I really respect it, because it kinda made template for other narrative driven albums and I can respect it. It has these crazy guitar solos, I really like the one in the opener with the stereo mixing, so if you?re looking for an easy to listen to, fun, rock record, really go ahead, I can?t recommend it enough. For me, it?s not something I really seek out, and I don?t think this is anything great enough that it deserves a spot on the 100.
Rammstein Mutter
I quite like Rammstein, but this album made me think i would be so much more with those opening tracks, it unfortunately got worse with each song
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever Sideways to New Italy
You know when you find a band that's not really popular and you feel very good about yourself? Well, I don't know how much of my enjoyment of this album is influenced by that, but it's really really great.
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever Endless Rooms
Saba Few Good Things
slowthai Nothing Great About Britain
There are some great songs in there, but most of the soundtrack lacks momentum, but he definitely stepped up with TYRON
Sophie Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides
I wont lie and say that I love this, but if we're talking objectively, I can totally see why this is considered one of the greatest hyperpop albums ever. It's insanely creative and absolutely bonkers
Spiritualized Everything Was Beautiful
Taylor Swift Folklore
I didn't think I would enjoy this, but I surprisingly did. That's it.
Taylor Swift Evermore
It's basically the same thing as Folklore, but I thought the hooks were better and the features made for some more interesting tracks than Swift's previous entry.
The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Hot Take: i don?t care much for The Beatles. I can recognize their talent and their humongus influence, but they?re not a band that I find myself wanting to listen to almost ever. There are some really great tracks here, and the album flows really well, of course it?s a Beatles album. That?s it. I don?t really know what else to add, it?s a Beatles album, of course it?s great, i don?t care much for it.
The Beatles The Beatles
I really don't love the Beatles, but I won't call them overrated. Theyve established themselves as the most influential band of all time and I agree with that. The experimentations on this album are very interesting to say the least. And I gotta say I really like Side A of this thing, but Side B, goddamn I was bored out of my mind.
The Clash London Calling
This album is probably the most important record for Britain?s music. It changed the scene by introducing purely american genres onto the music scenes, from rock n? roll, to reggae to jazz. And it influenced so many artists in that scene. And I am grateful for this album for allowing other british artists to follow in their footsteps and give their key perspective to those music genres. The lyrics about war, drugs and celebrity are absolutely representative of this decade. And I understand how it can be considered one of the defining albums of the 80s and one of the best for Britain, for me, it?s not one for me. I don?t feel like this is extraordinary in any way, it?s a very straight-forward, that to me, doesn?t go too much outside the box, with my 2021 mindset.r
The Cure Faith
I don't know if I'll get shit for this, but I feel like Faith is a much lesser version of Seventeen Seconds. It doesn't capture the ambience as well as its predecessor, even though they have similar premises, maybe it's just me. But in The Cure's discography, this one always falls a little flat for me.
The Dear Hunter Act I: The Lake South, the River North
I've recently become a big fan of rock operas and this sound like a hell of an amibtious one. The first act is good. It's a pretty good starter, very well written, although the music didn't completely do it for me, although standouts like The Pimp and The Priest or His Hands Matched His Tongue, make this album end on a very positive note. I'm expected to see how they develop that story.
The Fray How to Save a Life
When I was 11, How To Save A Life was one of my favorite songs, so I decided to put it as my alarm. BAD IDEA. Because of that, I hated this song for so much. Now, I've come to terms with that song, and I love it again now. But there's something about Isaac Slade's voice that still irritates me a little. But that didn't bother me that much in that I still liked the album, even if I thought it was a little forgettable until the last tracks which are great. How To Save A Life is still a 10/10 song though, and that's maybe why the rest of the album is overshadowed by that song.
The Killers Pressure Machine
I guess the Killers understood what to do with their music. They'd been pumping out the same record since Battle Born and people we're not there for it at all, but they've figured it out, just do something different, so they did, and so it works.
The Replacements Tim
The Seatbelts No Disc
The Strokes Room on Fire
It has one of the best Strokes song it it: Reptilia, which makes it so the rest of the album is kind of overshadowed by it. Solid entry for the group though.
The Weeknd After Hours
The Weeknd has never really been my thing, but I understand how this album mixes perfectly the more artsy side of him with his pop style. It's a great pop record, that I didn't have much attachment to.
Tinashe 333
I really like her approach and how she tried to modernize or add a new spin to rnb with really impressive production, but by the time you get to the 2nd half of the album, it becomes very samey and boring
Tool Ænima
This is a really good record, and I understand why people love it, it touches on many different themes with a good production. And I enjoyed a good part of it, but there?s one major flaw that keeps me from fully enjoying it. I feel like while I think the exploited themes are very cool, I feel like they are taken too far, a perfect example is the opener, about how humans always take things too far, by comparing it too how we went from fingering, to fisting. There are many instances like that, where I understand the intent of certain songs, but they are brought up in such weird ways, that it takes me out of the record a bit, even though I can totally understand why certain people would enjoy quite a bit the lyrics on this, because they are very clearly out of the ?norm?. But, as it turns out, it?s not for me.
Viktor Vaughn Vaudeville Villain
I think this is DOOM's most accessible work. That's not a bad thing. It allows to touch on many different forms of rapping. I love Can I Watch, a track where we see a side of DOOM that we don't see much of: his storytelling. He's quite excellent at it.
Weezer OK Human
As a radiohead, I fully expected this to be hot garbage. OMG I was wrong, this is fucking great.
Wu-Tang Clan Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
I don't think I'm that into gangster rap, but I can't deny that this is a fucking classic. Its influences are easily noticeable in everyone else's work. Every rapper on this adds something different which makes this an album that I don't think anyone can truly hate.
Young Thug JEFFERY
If there is a genre that I have a lot of difficulty getting into, it's trap. So, as an album that's considered top tier trap, I was doubtful, but I ended up enjoying it. Thugger's great vocals coupled with that booming bass really worked for me. It's not masterpiece by any means, but it was surprisingly good.

3.0 good
Air Moon Safari
I can't tell you how little this did for me. It completely flew by.
Angels and Airwaves Lifeforms
After a while, A&A albums start getting really a lot of the same to me, and get worse the further I'm in it, because the songs kinda all are the same, but a 5-song EP, works pretty good.
Arctic Monkeys Humbug
There are some tracks that I'm absolutely crazy for (especially Secret Door), but the album as a whole felt a little forgettable, but I realized that I was a pretty big fan of Alex Turner's lyrics, which kinda influenced how I view the Monkey's other projects.
Ariana Grande Thank U, Next
For an artist with such an unbelievable talent, it's a shame that her albums always feel disappointing.
Band of Horses Everything All the Time
It's solid, but for some reason, I really can't get into it. No idea why.
Billie Eilish Happier Than Ever
I didn't love Eilish's previous album, because it was too inbedded in the "I'm a quirky and edgy teenager" schtick, and this one is definitely a lot better written, I really like the opener and the title track, which show some great songwriting from her, but the production is a lot more minimal compared to the previous record, which works for certain tracks, but not for most, and ends up dragging a little.
Black Country, New Road For the first time
I enjoyed the drums on this record quite a bit, but otherwise, this didn't do much for me.
Black Sabbath Master of Reality
This is the type of album where I can understand the people who love it. This album has a cult following and is a landmark for the stoner music genre. I?m not a stoner, so I really don?t care for this one. It?s not bad, but it?s an only alright record, where nothing really stands out for me. To me, this is a standard 70s grunge record, with not really much else to it. The lyrics are kinda mediocre, with interesting enough subject matters, but it?s the type of thing where I feel like you need to have smoked joint and say: Dude, isn?t it crazy how {insert Master Of Reality lyric here}. And as much as I can understand the people who do hold this album at a very high standard, but I don?t, and I don?t think it should be regarded as such for music as a whole.
Blur 13
Dammit, I really thought I'd love this.
Bo Burnham Inside (The Songs)
Bo Burnham is one of the most brilliant comedians of this Earth. I also don't find him funny. That contradiction makes it so I agree with everyone saying this is a masterpiece, but I didn't enjoy it.
Bob Dylan Rough and Rowdy Ways
I guess this wasn't as soothing as his previous records, but it wasn't bad, Bob Dylan is still a good storyteller and the production and music is quite good.rBut I think that we have evolved to a point where we don't need other Dylan records. Which is why I don't think I'll ever revisit it.
Brian Eno Another Green World
Cassius 1999
clairo Sling
It blows my mind how an album this passable has in its tracklist the greatest song of 2021. However bland and uninteresting the rest of the album is, Amoeba is undoubtedly the song of the year for now, it's bonkers beautiful.
Deadmau5 For Lack of a Better Name
This is a perfectly fine album, but let's be honest, none of the album reaches the brilliance of its closer, Strobe.
Descendents Milo Goes to College
Trying to make a review as fast as the album (in 5 words or less): Good, influential, not for me.
Drake Take Care
It's weird. I feel like I like this album more than I'm supposed to. It's a good listen, but if you would ask me to tell you anything good about the record, I'd have difficulties doing so. The lyrics go from interesting to awful, the production is constantly varying from minimalistic and good to overbearingly bad, I don't really like rappers talking about their exes and their haters in a negative way. So, in the end, when I think about it, I wouldn't recommend it. But during the thing, I don't mind it.
Failure Magnified
Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The LSO Promises
Very good fusion of jazz and electronics, but I cant lie and not say that I was completely bored throughout this.
Frank Ocean Blonde
This is not really my thing, but it's one of my friend's favourite albums so I've listened to the whole thing 3 times, so I can form a solid opinion. To me, it's a 6. Where I can see why people enjoy it, and can see that it is good, but I wouldn't really want to relisten to it again. The whole is better than the sum of the parts, There are songs that I really don't like, but as a whole, it ended up being a relatively good experience. It went from a 2, to a 4, to a 6
Galaxie 500 On Fire
Gorillaz Humanz
Overbloated. They try to revisit every genre that Gorillaz touched over the years, which is way too much, the album is not a particularly interesting listen, but some songs taken out of the context of the albums are really great. Two, in particular, stand out to me, these two songs being Busted And Blue, and She's My Collar.
Hippo Campus Bashful Creatures EP
Pretty good pop EP that shows potential. It's not groundbreaking (doesn't go much higher than a 7/10), but it's still quality music for the most part.
Igor Stravinsky Le Sacre du Printemps
This is less a 6/10 of actual quality, but more of a 6/10 as in what? Rite of Spring, 21? I mean it?s a great classical piece, if I must say a criticism, it is maybe unevolved for the early 20th century, but it?s still a great track, but one of the best classical pieces and the 21st best album ever? Am I out of place for saying no? It did have a lot of influence, by popularizing the use of dissonance and rough sounds, but I don?t think it has its place here. Something about it just makes me really not want to put it here, especially since there are an insane amount of other classical pieces, both on this list and not on this list, that I think deserve Rite Of Spring?s spot. It?s great, but just not.
Iron Maiden Powerslave
You know it?s perfectly serviceable. The shredded guitars are satisfying, the lyrics are pretty cool and it does everything a metal record should do. I barely have anything negative to say about this record, it?s just that it always seems incredibly forgettable to me. There isn?t really anything that draws me to go back to it. I wouldn?t mind if someone really loved it, but I personally have difficulties including this in the top 100 albums of all time.
Jamiroquai Travelling Without Moving
I feel like generally with pop records, the great bops really overshadow the rest of the record, and this isn't really any different. Virtual Insanity and Cosmic Girl are just too good.
Jazmine Sullivan Heaux Tales
This album is very "Girl Power", very Sisterhood and as a guy, I couldn't fully get behind the lyrics, but the songwriting and production are really good. Some other people would like this album way more than me. I'd recommend it more than I'd listen to it.
Jessie Ware Glasshouse
While Ware is as great a vocalist as ever, and the production is quite good, the composition and chord progs seem to be really ordinary and heavily drag this record down.
Jordaan Mason and The Horse Museum Divorce Lawyers I Shaved My Head
While I admire the production, the composition and what this type of album does for the LGBT community, I don't know if it's because I'm a cisgender straight guy or if it's because English isn't my first language, but the lyrics just made completely no sense to me. I'm certainly glad certain people can relate to and appreciate this album, but I wasn't able to make sense of it.
JPEGMAFIA EP!
Despite my love for this guy, I never really fully listened this and I gotta say, it's one of his weakest projects. It's not bad, but everything on here you can get better in other projects.
Kanye West ye
I think that, conceptually, this album is really interesting, the lyrics reflect the theme of bipolarity and mental health. The songs are not remarkable, so I wouldn't necessarily revisit it, but I consider it a good listen.
Kendrick Lamar untitled unmastered.
Kendrick is great, but I don't really get this album. It just doesn't work for me like his other worksr
Lana Del Rey Chemtrails Over The Country Club
Seriously, Lana is so talented it sucks that she wastes her talents on these kinds of albums. It's slow, kinda boring honestly and the lyrics are nothing special. rWhile listening to it, I thought, damn, Lana would make for a great shoegaze singer. And no, Lana would be a great anything if she did anything else than what she does.
Lana Del Rey Honeymoon
Lana has a lot of talent, but I know and I've seen her be able to do so much more
Lil Nas X Montero
While I think that some of the songs are really great, I feel like he reuses the same formula over and over again which makes it redundant by the end of the record, which closes on such an empty note.
Lil Ugly Mane Mista Thug Isolation
The production is really great, it's incredibly original while taking inspirations from a lot of places, but it's a shame that my two favorite tracks on the album are the only two instrumental tracks. I just don't think LUM is a great rapper. I don't find his lyrics, rhymes or flows interesting, which is a shame since he's such a good producer.
Logic Vinyl Days
Ludovico Einaudi Nightbook
An album that I discovered after Divenire and In A Time Lapse, which is why I always found it quite weak and never really cared to revisit it.
Lupin Lupin
Interesting production and original songmaking. But the album is brought down by the fact that it's just wayyy too short. That doesn't allow the songs to sit in, and the album to have a definite impact.
Mac Miller Swimming
Mac Miller can either have a very ''rapper'' voice or more a singy voice. And the production varies from rap beats, to slower soft-singing beats and sometimes Mac uses his rapper voice on these soft-singy beats and it doesn't work. Same for the other way around. rThe theme of mental illnesses is pretty well exploited, but would hit even harder if I knew more about Mac. Overall it's a good album and I can see why people like it, but not really my style
Magdalena Bay Mercurial World
Everyone kinda hyped this up, sadly didn't do much for me.
Men I Trust Untourable Album
I was really fucking with the first 3 songs, then the rest of the album was extremely disappointing
Mika Life in Cartoon Motion
This album is a mess. Some huge bangers, and some annoyingly disappointing tracks, making for such a mixed bag
Miles Davis Bitches Brew
While some might say that this is the cooler Kind Of Blue, and while it?s definitely more unconventional, I don?t think it matches the simple beauty of that record. It?s fun, and it?s a jazz that is much more disonnant and non harmonious, which is cool and it influences numbers of records. Every member does crazy improvs and they all get their time to shine. But holy fuck is it unbelievably long. I don?t feel like it?s constructed in a way that?s rewarding as a 1h35 listen. I?ll talk more about my opinions on Miles Davis later and while I recognize how groundbreaking this album is, it?s just so incredibly jarring, it?s not something I ever revisit.
MUNA Muna
Neurosis Through Silver in Blood
I think I find metal lyrics to be in general cheesy, and while they are on this record, I like the themes they visit on the tracks. This album is pretty big on existentialism on songs like Purify or the frailty of life in the opener. The instrumentation is also quite varied, with slower breaks on the record, which gives it a sense of grandeur. Overall, since I?m not a big metal fan, this isn?t something I would revisit often, but I can still appreciate its place among the best metal records and can very well understand why metal fans hold it at such a high pedestal.
Neverending White Lights Act 1: Goodbye Friends of the Heavenly Bodies
As I'm a massive fan of another Canadian band with albums titled as Acts, The Dear Hunter, I was expecting to really like this and it's okay, everything works well, but it lacked a little momentum for me, it just fell kinda flat. Not for me.
Nick Cave and Warren Ellis Carnage
I really need to look at the lyrics cause musically this did nothing for me.
Oasis (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
Sorry boys, it was alright, but I'll always stand with Damon.
Radiohead The Bends
When I listened to In Rainbows and Kid A, I realized that (even though Ok Copmuter is superior), I prefer Radiohead when their music is more electronic and ambiance-ey, then full alt rock. Which is why I was kinda disappointed by The Bends. Nice Dream is one of the best Radiohead tracks though
Radiohead Hail to the Thief
Ideas all over the board, but there's so much of them without direction and that makes Hail such an overwhelming listen. There's about 5 songs that I would re listen, but I don't think I'd want to fo over the full thing again any time soon. A Wolf at the door is top 10 raidohead, we see Yorke doing really low vocals which sound really good. 2+2=5, Sit down stand up and Sail to The Moon are really good tracks that stand out. The rest are lost in the mess that is this album.
Radiohead In Rainbows Disk 2
Except for Go Slowly, which is a top 10 Radiohead song for me, this is a little disappointing. I don't think it goes too well with the rest of In Rainbows, so except for individual songs, i don't think I would revisit this, but it certainly is a good listen.
Remi Wolf Juno
Everyone kinda hyped this up, sadly didn't do much for me.
Run the Jewels Run the Jewels 3
This is just waaaayyy weaker than RTJ 4, still a RTJ album is a RTJ album, and is automatically good, but I haven't got a lot of enjoyment out of this.
Sigrid How to Let Go
Spoon Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
Can't tell you how many times I've heard, Spoon are so underrated, Spoon are so underrated, so here we are. I've listened to this album and I almost forgot that I did.
Sufjan Stevens The Ascension
As much as I liked it, and thought it was good, I don't have much positive to say about the albumrThe production is hit or miss, it's gorgeous on tracks like Tell Me You Love, but really irritating on songs like Gilgamesh or Death Star. The sound is interesting but, Idon't think matches Sufjan's voices every time, which is a shame.rPlus, the album is really long. 1h20. Damn
Swans Soundtracks for the Blind
This album has a very interesting concept and puts it to music masterfully. I don?t have anything bad to say about this album. It does everything it sets out to do. It evokes a lot of different emotions, through its central themes, like Alienation, Isolation and does so with overwhelming, very impressive production. However, at 2h21 long, this really isn?t somthing I wanna go back to. I understand perfectly why it?s among the greatest list, but it?s not something I would ever strive to listen to again.
Tame Impala Currents
-Hey, that's the tiktok song!ris what my brain couldn't stop telling me while listening to this album. Might have affected my rating
Taylor Swift 1989
I think this is very overrated. It stands in the middle of three pop movements without really fully going into any of them. It takes elements of the EDM-beginning of the 2010s, the drop/buildup dominated end of the the 2010s or Carly Rae's Emotion-booming bass infused record. It kinda only dips a toe into each of them, without having really having anything to add to it. If you add to that the fact that I'm not much of a fan of Swift's lyrics. Most of the record ends up being a little forgettable to me. It's a tolerable pop record with 2 amazing tracks: Style and Wildest Dreams, but the rest is not for me.
Taylor Swift Red
Half of these songs are some of Taylor's best, half of them annoy me out of my mind
The Avalanches We Will Always Love You
My problem with The Avalanches is that the kind of music they make doesn't fit in an album format, especially for 1h13. It's more of a playlist. And that's something I hate.
The Cars The Cars
The Cure The Top
This is chaotic, a mess, but I accept it because the experimentation they did in this record allowed them to do their later more pop records. I wouldn't revisit this again, but I'm happy it exists.
The Doors The Doors
I don't know why, but I've always had a disdain for 60s psychadelic rock. Sometimes it works for me, like Pink Floyd's debut, but bands like Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Doors, The Beatles or Grateful Dead are always bands that I reckognized their talent with completely not caring about their music. So I went into this expecting the absolute worst. And I didn't really like it, but I can still reckognize its influence and importnace among psyhadelic releases. The stereo mixing is really great, and the structure of guitar on the right, bass on the left is quite iconic and works pretty well on songs like Light My Fire. But, it's a psychadelic record and it's really not my genre. I can understand why it's on the list, but I can think of psychadelic releases that deserve more the spot than this album, to be quite honest.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Are You Experienced
Jimi Hendrix is a psychedelic music act that I don?t really care about. It?s very influential and there are really great tracks in this album. I just don?t care, it doesn?t bring any emotions in me and while I can say Jimi Hendrix is a very important and influential musician, I just don?t really care about his music. I think I feel like his music hasn?t aged as well, there are much more artists and albums from that era that work much better in the 21st century than Jimi. And I wish I wouldn?t think like that, but that?s how it is.
The Seatbelts Vitaminless
The Stooges Fun House
I don?t think this album is anything special as a punk album, but it?s crazy how influential this has become. It?s the blueprints for what punk would be like in the years, so it?s easily understandable why it?s here. Not only in th song formula, but also in terms of production, which mixes surprisingly well it?s stereo elements. Guitar on the left and vocals on the right might not seem much, but it is impressive coming from that era. Iggy Pop?s singing has also become very influential, not even only in the world of punk but in all of the music landscape, it?s easy to see its influences on Bowie, which adopted a very similar singing style. Overalll, this is the type of record, that I think is important to be remembered because if it weren?t here, part of the music of today would not sound the same, but as it is, it?s not incredible. Its legacy is more impressive than the album instead.
The Strokes First Impressions of Earth
The songs are either top tier or trash tier. The weirdest thing is I loved the first listen, hated the second.
The Zombies Odessey and Oracle
Travis Scott Astroworld
Welcome to this new episode of Charlo tries to get into trap, this started amazing. Everything until NC-17 is absolutely astounding, but everything that comes after is so disappointing, I've never seen that before. First half gets an 8 and second half gets a 4, so it evens out at a 6. Sad, that it started so well.
Unwound Leaves Turn Inside You

2.5 average
A Tribe Called Quest Beats, Rhymes And Life
Adele 30
A third of the songs are normal Adele, and really doesn't do much at all, the other third is a bunch of songs that are well produced, but would be miles better if any other singer would be singing them than Adele, and the last third is amazing.
Alice in Chains Dirt
Well, there are definitely a lot of metal fans on sputnik. Because I think that this album is honestly nothing special. While it?s okay by all means, I don?t think it deserves at all to hold its place among the greatest albums of all time. The instrumentation goes from boring to serviceable and the lyrics really are kinda bad, and I feel like they alienate anyone who?s not a metal fan. Lyrics like: You can?t understand a user?s mind in Junkhead really make me feel like I?m not welcome to listen to this record and take me out of it. There?s nothing revolutionary or exceptional in anything here, especially not to be considered one of the greatest albums of all time.
ASAP Rocky Live.Love.A$AP.
Oh look the most overrated rapper of all time, making his first mixtape
Backxwash I LIE HERE BURIED WITH MY RINGS AND MY DRESSES
This is definitely a good album, but when I listened to it, half of my brain was like, damn, the vocal delivery on this is insane, the other half was like, this guy sounds like fucking 6ix9ine and that ruined the whole thing for me.
Bladee The Fool
Cochise (FL) THE INSPECTION
Coldplay Everyday Life
I'm tornrThis has some of the best Coldplay songs (Daddy, cry cry cry, trouble in town) as well as some of the worst (guns, orphans, everyday life)rOn one hand, it's a complete mess of an album.rOn the other, it's got amazing production and it sounds really good
Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats Unlocked
I don't know if what I'm about to say can apply to a shit-ton of other records, but here goes:rIt feels like it's trying to be Madvillainy and really fails.
Dissection Storm of the Light's Bane
As far as death metal goes, I much prefered this to the Immolation record, the prodction is much better, and the drums sound really cool, but, even though I?ve enjoyed some metal release, it?s probably my weakest genre. By that I mean that I listen to and know the least about. And death metal is almost never my thing. And this record is no exception. While I can appreciate to a certain level the production and impressive instrumentation, this record really lacks in terms of lyrics, they don?t go really too far are do anything outside the line of traditional death metal and thats kind of a shame. I can understand why metal fans like it, but maybe not to consider it among the greatest albums of all time.
Father John Misty Chloe and the Next 20th Century
Father John Misty has always been so original, so it's very disappointing that this was mid
Hippo Campus landmark
I really don't know if the group wants to make pop songs or experimental art rock like Radiohead, the indecision makes this a confusing listen, with some potential, but too many ideas. The drummer is absolutely awful.
Injury Reserve Injury Reserve
This is not for me, the beats aren't that interesting, the hooks work poorly, but they're good rappers and the two last songs are pretty great.
Kanye West The College Dropout
I'm so used to Kanye stans telling me this album is the best debut ever, that I ended up very disappointed. Most songs are pretty good (All Falls Down, Never Let Me Down, Jesus Walks, Slow Jamz and the 4 last songs), but the rest is extremely basic and most of the time unnecessary. The skits are to me, unbelievably bad. To me, if you take out the good parts of the record, it has pretty much nothing. Mediocre production, mediocre lyrics with an overall theme that I'm not sure if I agree or disagree, I just don't care about it.
Lady Gaga Dawn of Chromatica: The Remix Album
I'm glad Gaga is showing hyperpop to the world, but as a record of remixes, it doesn't do much for me, some remixes are amazing, but at the same time, I felt like half the record did nothing, and the other half did too much and made me forget that I'm listening to a Gaga record, yeah idk it's just weird.
Lizzo Special
Lupe Fiasco Drill Music in Zion
Madlib Sound Ancestors
I guess I'm not a producer beats-album type of guy, so I can't really say anything bad about it, but then again, I personally don't see a reason to like this.
Miracle Musical Hawaii: Part II
This feels like a mess, yet somehow a coherent one. Even with that, it feels kinda overdone, the concept is kinda all over the place and doesn't work for me.
Pink Floyd More
I couldn't be more indiferent to More. I guess it's fine. It's not particularly remarkable, does watching the movies significantly makes the album better?r
Playboi Carti Die Lit
Die Lit more like Die Mid hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Playboi Carti Whole Lotta Red
I'll give Carti fans this: I like it better than Die Lit, and there are some good individual songs, but I don't think they work extremely well as an album. Still Whole Lotta Mid for me.
Radiohead Pablo Honey
With the reputation this album has, I was expecting complete fucking dogshit, it really wasn't that bad. It's very clearly bottom tier Radiohead, but not a terrible listen.
Snoop Dogg Doggystyle
Half of the album is amazing, the other half just falls incredibly flatr
Standing On The Corner Red Burns
While the production and skill demonstrated here absolutely insane, I don't think it's used to create something that kept my interest.
Tame Impala The Slow Rush
Here is what I realized while listening to the Slow Rush: rTame Impala exists...rAnd I couldn't care less that it does
The Armed Ultrapop
Silly me to think this would be a pop album. It starts out as a very interesting punk sound, then repeats that same thing in every song, making it very repetitive by the end.
The Cure Three Imaginary Boys
Three Imaginary Boys is to The Cure as Pablo Honey is to Radiohead. Okay record, that doesn't even begin to show to immense potential of the group. I think at this moment of their career Smith and his 2 bros suffer for not being enough people. It doesn't let them huge 2 guitar and bass complementary riffs, it misses a huge lot of synths, and Robert's lyrical are really not at their peak. An okay record, but considering their incredible career, this is not one that I would revisit.
The Gaslight Anthem Handwritten
The Killers Imploding the Mirage
The album uses the same sound established in Wondeful Wonderful which I'm not a fan of at all. It is slightly better, but still very average. Half the songs are good, half are bad. The features on this are impressive but their respective songs really aren't.rThe good thing I will say is that Mac DeMarco is an inspiration especially in the song Running Towards A Place. Many people have tried to recreate his sound, not much have succeeded, but it sounds really good in this song.rI give the Killers a 3rd album to gain my trust again. Otherwise, they definitely fell.
The Midnight Endless Summer
To me, this is nothing that's ever been done before, and every song redoes the same structure over and over again, so for 1h10, it gets pretty stale
The Strokes Angles
Incomplete album that can't decide whether it wants to be an album more like Room On Fire or New Abnormal. As a result, it's an unfinished version of both these albums.
Weezer Van Weezer
Yes, the lyrics are god awful, but idk, the chord progs kinda worked for me, maybe a guilty pleasure

2.0 poor
Angelo Badalamenti Twin Peaks
Okay, I know. Before you hate me, let me say this. The show is absolutely incredible. It?s one of the greatest TV series of all time, and the score works in the show. It uses a very soapy, cheesy formula and soundtrack, which is kinda annoying in the show because they reuse the same themes every episode, but the soap nature of the show works extremely well as a contrast to its extremely dark parts. That being said, on its own, it?s generic, annoying, and it doesn?t work without the show to back it up.
Ariana Grande Sweetener
It really sucks that Ariana Grande doesn't work on better projects than this, especially since she's that talented. This has breathing and everytime, two of her all time great songs, but the rest just isn't up to the level that I know she could do. Plus, the lyrics kinda suck.
Big K.R.I.T. Digital Roses Don't Die
Come on Krit, I really wanted to like this, why was it so mid? r
Black Kray Crack Cloud$ Over Arts Kitchen
I really dislike trap, it's probably my least favorite genre, and my buddy recommended this to me, to reconcile me with the genre, saying that plenty thought that this was the best album of that genre. And while I can give it some merit, the production is quite impressive on certain songs, it's awful in other parts, with disgusting lyrics and flow.
Brockhampton Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine
I'm new to Brockhampton and while I can appreciate their production, the lyrics absolutely suck on that record, bad bars over bad bars with some really awful references, Peggy disappoints so much on his song.
Bruno Mars Unorthodox Jukebox
Bruno starts his retro signature on here, and it works wonders on certain tracks (mainly the singles), but at this point of his career, I'm sorry but, Bruno Mars sounds like he's never had sex before. The lyrics are really bad, and he's not old enough to pull them off in a cheesy, funny, Silk Sonic, kinda way. Making love like gorillas. Ouch
Gorillaz D-Sides
Again, not very purposeful, but there are some really good tunes. Particularly Rockit, which even being a B-Side, is in my top 10 Gorillaz songs.
Hippo Campus South
I don't really know how to rate EPs, there's 2 good songs, 3 bad songs, ups and downs
Immolation Close to a World Below
There are some metal releases that I enjoy quite a bit, but I think I?m more of a melodic metal type of guy than a death metal one. These guys must kill live, cause they destroy every instrument, but the album is mixed in a way that it just feels overwhelming, instead of impressive. The drums sound really thin, and those vocals, I?m really not a fan. The lyrics are also the cheesiest, most metal thing I?ve ever seen. But the production sounds just so inexistant, the loudest thing is the vocals, which doesn?t help its monotone and boring nature, and the drums and the not oversatured guitars are the lowest here, which makes really underwhelming, when I think it should be the most important thing of the record.
Joji Nectar
The album is bloated, incoherent, goes up and down. I'd say the last stretch of songs is pretty good all around, but this record is long and not a very interesting listen. The songwriting is not the best, it's a little below average record.
Kanye West The Life of Pablo
Kanye West Graduation
So mediocre, to me, it has nothing going for it. It is remarkable how unremarkable this is. I have forgotten everything about it, and I listened to it yesterday.
Kanye West Donda
This is Life of Pablo for Christians, sadly enough, the worst part of this album is Kanye himself, writing bad lines over bad lines and producing this album very boringly, with the same boring bass that dominated every track. The production is just very bland compared to the rest of his discog and for it to be almost 2 hours long, it's not very worth it to me.
Kaycyy Get Used To It
Keane Perfect Symmetry
This is the obligatory but dreaded EXPERIMENTAL album. OOOOOH. And I have no problems with an experimental album. But I have a question.rWhy?rIn Perfect Symmetry, there's a lot of snappy electronic synth sounds. I don't get why they would experiment with that. The electronic sound was already perfected with long ambiance synth chords in the previous albums. Especially considering that the sound of Perfect Symmetry isn't re used in Strangeland. So, why? It creates a Keane album with a weird sound that I don't think I'll revisit soon.
Mac DeMarco 2
The guitar loops are fun when you're a newcomer, but you slowly get sick of them.
Martin O'Donnell Halo Original Soundtrack
Halo is a decent game, its soundtrack is fine. It fits the ambience, even though it is fairly forgettable, nothing stands out in the music department as far as the game goes. So, if you have a 6/10 soundtrack in context of the game, and you take out the game, you get a piece of music that I don?t think has much merit on its own. I feel like I?m being too mean, it?s just not something that?s worth it, without the game accompanying it. Even in terms of videogames soundtracks or sountracks in general for that matter, this is clearly not the cream of the crop. I don?t understand why it?s here.
Orelsan Civilisation
After his previous record, which I really like, this felt like a cheap rip-off of what made Orel so good before.
Pink Floyd Ummagumma
Ummagumma is bad. But in a kinda awesome way. I didn't like any of these tracks, but listening to this kinda made me feel special. Like this was an album so weird that listening to it made me a cooler guy
PinkPantheress To Hell With It
I understand if it's your thing, but every song seemed to mesh together, plus I felt like I had heard every single one of them
Pixies Doolittle
Really not my type of music but I understand how people love this album.
Pusha T It's Almost Dry
I don't wanna piss off Kanye or Pusha fans (I kinda feel like they're the same people), but this album is very very weak. The mixing is bad and it's especially apparent on the last song, the 808s sound really bad. Pusha has the same boring flow in every song. The production is really has nothing to ride home about. I could defend songs like Brambleton, Rock N Roll or Scrape it Off, but they can't this record, far from it.Just very weak in every way.
Radiohead OKNOTOK 1997-2017
WITH HOW GOOD OK COMPUTER IS, HOW COME THIS IS THIS MID
Red Hot Chili Peppers Unlimited Love
Although I love some of their songs, RHCP in album length has never done anything for me and this is no exception
Rex Orange County Who Cares?
I loved Rex Orange County when I was 14, but I feel like his music just really doesn'T work for me anymore. It's a shame, cause he is a good musician, but this album really didn't do much for me.
serpentwithfeet Deacon
I there for the vocals, but the production on this is so, awkward, like not good weird, just kinda cringe, they didn't work for me at all.
The Cure The Cure
Whereas the rest of The Cure's albums felt very deep in a certain style, their self-titled feels like it's meshing together to create a weird mesh. Throughout the whole record, I had the feeling that Trent Reznor produced the record, because the end-result is a mix of electronics and metal, without the ambient of their earlier production. Definitely one of the weaker records in their discog.
The Killers Wonderful Wonderful
I can't really put my feelings into words, but listening to this just felt wrong. It feels like an uncalled-for attempt to be more pop and be put on the radio, it's a got a very pop sound, and I don't understand why. The Killers were already popular, their non-pop songs are already more popular than some modern pop songs. At this point in their career, I find it weird that they make an album like that. To me, it feels like an attempt to get more fans, but it's too late. I don't see the point of this album. Every song is kinda the same. I won't be revisiting this.
Tool Lateralus
rI feel like this album generally did very few things to stand out. I?m not a fan of Tool?s lyrics, even though I could say that this record is I think their best written, and whereas at other times, I felt like Tool had an interesting thing to add to metal, but here, I don?t see it. Production is not really a big standout in any way, and the instrumentation is fine, but still is deceptively simple, I think. That?s the album?s biggest flaw. It?s content with doing the bare minimum for everything. And that makes it mediocre.r

1.5 very poor
Angels and Airwaves Love
Painfully average, the songs all sound the same and get lost with each other, there's never anything spectacular with the songwriting, or the production. I did not expect to be this disappointed.
Bruce Springsteen Letter to You
I can't really say it's bad, but this was so boring for me. I legitimately have no bad things to say about the record, but it was just so far from me, that I really didn't like the listenrI would fully understand if someone really liked this album, but it really just wasn't for me.
Childish Gambino 03.15.20
Donald Glover is one of my idols. He has been able to dominate every single area of the pop-culture and I find that amazing. But as much as i respect the guy, I've never totally been into his music. Because The Internet was a mess trying to be GKMC, Awaken My Love was weirdly mediocre, this was a concept album that I did not get into, I can't really understand the point, so it really didn't have much of an impact to me. I truly don't know where the man is headed, but even though I love some of his work, I can't really be behind it.
Coldplay Music of the Spheres
I thought this was horrible throughout the entire record, until the closer Coloratura, which is in my opinion the greatest Coldplay song ever made.
Drake Certified Lover Boy
There are 4 good songs on this album. The rest is boring, forgettable, computer-made, industry-planted, filler garbage. Also, congrats to Drake for having the most disgusting album cover I've ever seen.
Foo Fighters Medicine at Midnight
You can't be mad that the alt-rock stations play Imagine Dragons when the alt-rock releases are like that...
Gorillaz The Fall
Incomplete, I don't know why I would really revisit this.
Jack Harlow Come Home The Kids Miss You
Lorde Solar Power
It seems like Antonoff produced both Sling and Solar Power the exact same way, but a slow, hushed, percussion-less prods work for the indie folk girl, but not for the pop girl, especially if this album is supposed to be "happy". I like some tracks here and there, but Lorde, please put some drums and bass on these tracks, this lacks any sort of dynamism
Madison Beer Life Support
I absolutely hated the singles, so I wasn't expecting to like this, surprisingly enough, the first half of the record is really solid. It has great vocal harmonies and production especially on songs like Follow The White Rabbit or Effortlessly, then the second half starts. And it starts with a sample from Rick & Morty. And after that, it's incredibly bad. Beer is a bad lyricist and it's especially apparent in the second half.
Muse Drones
Incredibly Below Average. Muse has done infinitely better in the past.
Muse Simulation Theory
It feels like after the poor reception of Resistance, Muse tried to go in a completely different direction, the 2nd law. After that didn't pay off, they went back to the "old' muse, but it didn't work either. After 3 flops, I thought they would take a break to work more on their music. They surprisingly didn't and that's a shame. I can see a little bit of the "old" muse in Simulation Theory. Algorithm and Get up and fight are really good tracks. But they get lost in somewhat concept album that is easily forgettable.
Pop Smoke Faith
There's already a much better posthumous album with a song called Good News in it
Tyler, the Creator Goblin
I really dont know how old Tyler's fans were at the time of the release of this album, but I'm sorry, this is awful. I don't think you can defend songs like Fish. It makes me so glad of how Tyler evolved in the last 5 years
Tyler, the Creator Cherry Bomb
Seriously what the fuck happened Tyler? This album is so all of the place, so convoluted, so confusing. One can definitely appreciate its out of the box production, but as a complete project, it kinda all meshes together as this headache inducing mess.

1.0 awful
Bon Jovi 2020
Not only does an album that talks about what happened in 2020 feels incredibly cheap, it also is incredibly cheap.
BTS BE
These tracks aren't even finished! It's just a publicity stunt to release Dynamite under an album. It's a good track, but there's no way you would go through the whole thing again.
Damso QALF
Extremely disappointing. It sounds dated, it's under every thing Damso has ever released. If you were to ask a person who doesn't know anything about the artist to rank the albums chronologically, he'd for sure put that one before all the others, it doesn't work as a normal chronological evolution of the rapper's discography
Drake Honestly, Nevermind
Gorillaz Laika Come Home
Hey, you wanna listen to bad versions of songs you like? No.
Gorillaz G-Sides
Very short, either songs that you go: alright I understand why that was cut out, or useless remixes of songs you already like
Kanye West Jesus Is King
Yup, it's bad. The theme is prettty bad, to the point where I feel like even Christians wouldn't like this album. Use This Gospel and follow God are good songs, but nothing to save the album
Megan Thee Stallion Good News
Whether it be, the awful lyrics, which can honestly be resumed by an Amy Schumer comedy show, the repetitive, basic, unfinished production, or the constant and irritating voice, repeating "real hot girl shit" 15 MOTHERFUCKING TIMES and saying aah with her tongue out. rThis was easily one of the worst things I've ever listened to, not only this year but ever.rI don't know what kinda false progressivism drew people to this album, I don't know what's cool or girl power about talking about your pussy for 50 minutes. GOD i can't stand it.
Nav (CAN) Emergency Tsunami
Never has an album been this scary and hypnotizing.
Young Thug Punk
HOW THE HELL IS IT SO FUCKING BORING r
