I'm at a loss for words, genuinely. This was a long time coming for Little Simz. Everything about this blew me away.
Loathe I Let It In And It Took Everything
This lived up to my expectations and then some. Glad to see this group take off with that melodic and shoegaze-y soundscape in several of the tracks here whilst balancing it with heavy and frantic riffs found in others like "Broken Vision Rhythm" (The vocals were great too). Thoroughly enjoyed "Two-Way Mirror", "Screaming", and "Heavy Is the Head..." as well. Here's hoping this is a grower.
Massive Attack Mezzanine
Melt-Banana Fetch

Nils Frahm Spaces
One of my All-time favorites. The intense build-up in the track "Says" blows me away with each listen and the use of repetition of one single key in the following track "Said and Done" is very engaging. RetrogradeMars' Soundoff sums it up perfectly.

The Contortionist Language
An engaging and enthralling narrative with a nice yin-yang of clean and heavy vocals and instrumentation."Language" "Thrive" and "The Parable" stand out the most
for me and with each spin, it continues to grow on me. The Alan Watts inclusion at the end makes it all worth listening in the end. Ties the bow nicely on the
theme of this record.
The Dillinger Escape Plan Dissociation
The Seatbelts Cowboy Bebop
Toby Driver They Are the Shield
Incredible. Toby manages the instruments and vocals perfectly in this album, and the ambient sections in the intro track and throughout the album set a very majestic tone. "470 Nanometers" and "The Knot" are definitely the tracks that stand out the most, but the other songs also play an integral role in the record as well. This is looking like an AOTY for me personally. Everything just sounds so masterful and compelling each time I listen to it.
TOKiMONSTA Creature Dreams
Can't get enough of this EP. From beginning to end, it perfectly represents TOKiMONSTA's best works and then some. The lush vocal performances by Gavin Turek in both "Little Pleasures" and "Darkest (Dim)" alongside the instrumentations provided make for some nice, dreamy tunes. Not only that, the instrumentals such as the uplifting "Bright Shadows" and down-to-earth "Day Job" tracks also diversified how the record sounds as a whole. Overall, it sets a beautiful, sonic atmosphere that's both easy on the ears and pretty groovy. A personal favorite of mine.
Uyama Hiroto Freeform Jazz
Going to be perfectly honest, I absolutely love the inclusion of "Fools No Rules". It's not the usual throwaway interlude, rather it uses off-tune and sporadic jazzy elements that breathe new life into the
record. This entire record is intrinsic.
Yvette Young Acoustics EP 2
I find myself coming back to this record a lot more than I initially did in comparison to Yvette's first EP. Quite a jump from the initial 3.5, but the riffs and lyricism became infectious after a while. The inclusion of that echoing sound definitely helps with building that atmosphere, and with some solid mathy tunes too. Lovely stuff here.

Boards of Canada Hi Scores
Something about this EP just clicks for me. Feels like a mashup of old recorded tapes turned into a vivid musical, and stress relieving atmosphere. The song "Turquoise Hexagon Sun" utilizes a hint of ambiance and subtle voices/conversations alongside the rhythm to give the album a bit more character. Similarly, the song "Everything You Do Is A Balloon" (Which is the stand out track for me) can cause you to go into a trance with its distorted, vintage-esqe introduction and completely hook you in with the beat that follows. A very well done song. In a sense, its a very soothing and cathartic EP in general.

Nice. I was a bit worried from the get-go with the first single (Kimbal), though listening to this as a whole, it's pretty damn great. Ghost Vomit, Young Speak, Redshift, and the closing track are some of their more refined works to date, and the sound diversity here is pretty good too. Was definitely something I hoped to hear more of from Good Tiger coming from WWABG.

Something about this album keeps hooking be back in, and whatever it is, it's growing on me. Sonically textured and cohesive front to back with some anthemic instrumentation and passionate vocals. I find it to be a great 'gaze/emo/hardcore journey and "Constant", "Wool", and "Proxy Dream" are definitely some highlights here. Heavily recommended.

People Under the Stairs O.S.T.
A hidden gem. This record is hip-hop done well, albeit a bit long. Narratives through each of the songs like "Empty Bottles of Water", "Tales of Kidd Drunkadelic", and "Acid Raindrops" are pretty interesting and I enjoyed what appears to be a parody song on hip-hop, "The Heat". I also appreciate how laid back O.S.T.'s beats are too. Puts a lot more focus on the raps while still keeping the listener entertained throughout the song. Lots of fun to be had here.

Skyharbor Blinding White Noise: Illusion & Chaos
This is starting to grow on me. Both the melodic and the chaotic are intertwined well on this album and Dan's vocal performance really shines throughout "Illusion". Sunneith's performance on the latter half is good to, but something about the cleans and screams on "Chaos" fall short of what the former disk offered. Still, a very solid debut record. "Catharsis" and "Insurrection" were the standout tracks amoung the rest for me.
Slint Spiderland
Slowdive Slowdive (LP)
Snarky Puppy We Like It Here
Sol Distorsion Sol Distorsion
Awesome. Really digging the psychedelic yet distorted riffs on both "Blood Red Moon" and "Bloom" and the refreshing, upbeat riffs here and there. Leaves me intrigued on what the debut LP is going to sound like now.
Spaceslug Mountains & Reminiscence
Spaceslug Eye the Tide
Spaceslug manages to create a dark and moody tone in this record while keeping the listener enthralled with their deep but energetic riffs. The vocals also perfectly fit in with the tone of the album and is equally mixed in with the instrumentation nicely. "Obsolith", "Spaced by One", and the latter half of "Vialys" are tracks that I think represent the band's best works thus far. Heavily recommend it to those who are a fan of the doom metal genre.

Telomere (CAN) Where Are We Still
I've been looking for this type of math for the longest time, and it delivered. "Sequoia I: Ashes" is a SOTY for me.
Tera Melos Trash Generator
Something about this album feels more whimsical amongst their discography (if that makes any sense), and I think it suits the band's style well. Quite a fun, enjoyable listen. "Your Friends", "Dyer Ln", and "Like a Deathclaw" were my top picks here. (Also, I like the nod to speedrunning with "Warpless Run".)
Thank You Scientist Maps of Non-Existent Places
The Callous Daoboys Celebrity Therapist
Everything I've wanted from this group and then some. Lots of their frantic musical ideas from their debut 'Die on Mars' appear more realized and brushed up here making this a solid, concise record. Honestly, it's hard to pick a standout, but I find myself returning to 'Beautiful Dude Missile' and 'What is Delicious? Who Swarms?' quite a bit. 'Celebrity Therapist' will throw you curveballs, constantly.
The Chariot Long Live
The Chariot One Wing
The Contortionist Language (Rediscovered Edition)
Really dig the redux tracks here, especially Language (Rediscovered). Makes for nice, eclectic refreshers from the originals and definitely adds to what was already established instrumentally.

The Mars Volta De-Loused in the Comatorium
The Number Twelve Looks Like You Worse Than Alone
The Ocean Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic
The Ocean Phanerozoic II: Mesozoic | Cenozoic
The Physics House Band Death Sequence
Ominous and very avant garde-esqe with its mixtures of math/prog compositions (with a hint of sax). The uniqueness in it's foreboding tone is pretty nice and serves as a nice auditory change of pace compared to other songs of the genre. Death Sequence I & III were my favorites here.

Thornhill The Dark Pool

TOKiMONSTA Midnight Menu
Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert
A beautiful live album that almost perfectly encapsulates the soundtrack of the Kirby franchise. Each medley not only adds to the already existing songs from each game but envelopes the listener into its own realms and worlds. A favorite of mine is "King Dedede & Meta Knight Medley", and I definitely recommend listening to it if you're a fan of Kirby's music.

The ambient pieces combined with progressive metal here is astounding. In order to fully enjoy this, you would need to soak in the ambiance, let your mind wander as it plays, and let the energetic riffs handle the rest. A perfect example of this would be the final three tracks Limbo/Plenitude/Finale. Personally, that is the prime example of how you end an album of this type.

Heavily surprised about how great the vocals sound in this. Especially on tracks like "Where Are the Birds" and "Latchkey Kids" where Elliot's vocal prowess really takes off. Currently one of my favorites. Instrumentally, it's pretty solid too for the most part. Similar to The Safety Fire's style, the riffs are still as crushing and tricky as they were before. One thing I found interesting was how the intro riff of "'67 Pontiac Firebird" sounds similar to TSF's earlier works. All in all, a pretty enjoyable debut.

Surprisingly groovy and upbeat. Loved the beats on most of the songs and the vocals, despite not fully understanding the language, sound great. I enjoyed the sporadic, but continuous narrative of what appears to be a superhero cartoon before and after each song finishes. The samples are interesting too but it was quite excessive at times. I dig it. Usually with experimental music, it's hit or miss. Fortunately, a good chunk of the tracks here sound great. I liked both "Noid" and "All the Love We Have Now" with it's more hip-hop-esqe vibe and I can appreciate "Licking An Orchid"'s initially laid back sound turning into a more louder and noisier tone to contrast the rest of the song. I'll have to see if this grows on me, but for now, I think it's pretty good.rUpdate: Welp, It grew on me.

There's a lot to digest on this record, and it seems like it's going to need some time to grow on me. Somehow, its one of their most frantic outputs while also maintaining a cohesive style (Like a mix of Meta and "w^w^^w^w"). Specifically with how the cleans mesh with the more melodic bits and the heavier segments mesh with the harsher compositions. Vague Skies, Dissect Yourself, and HeLa are some pretty damn good tracks here, and it's generally a pretty solid output from Meta. Definitely going to spin this more to get a better feel for it.

Quite a fast-paced and fun grind/punk album with the experimentation definitely showing in the second half of the record. Most of which were misses, but it was dumb fun nonetheless. The former half though has a handful of solid tracks, however, with my favorites being the opener "Spider Snipe" and "Plasma Gate Quest".

Fantastic stuff here. "Ever Wonder" and "Azul" are my favorites and I think this is a good improvement from Polysemy. In comparison to the last record, there's a lot more diversity in this record and each of the songs pretty much has their own identity to them. Also, the last track (Plato) was certainly a curveball. Was not expecting that ending at all.

The genuine passion is definitely translated into music very well here. It is indeed very comforting and heartfelt with how the psychedelic soundscapes complement the vocals. The strongest examples of this I feel are the songs "Seen A Ghost" and "Resistance". That said, it's relatively plain in terms of how explorative it appears to be. Not too many interesting musical ideas, but it's certainly not bare bones either. It does, however, bring a trippy musical atmosphere that enthrals the listener throughout the record regardless. The closing track "Ode To A Friend" definitely ties the bow on the album nicely, focusing more on the records spacey and dreamy side. Definitely one of the strongest songs on the record.r

Interesting hearing some demos of the songs that both made the cut (In The Garden, From The Stars, and Burn a Picture) and didn't make the cut. I dig it, I guess. It might come off a bit stale at some points but makes up for it with some catchy riffs on tracks like "Rosewood" and "Peace". "Pitch Dark" is a pretty tricky track that's worth mentioning too, and I think its the prime example of this records mellow tone. All-in-all, it's mostly inoffensive and soothing on the ears, and it's somewhere between 3 and a 3.5 for me.

It's quite a safe album, but that also becomes its own detriment in a way. Things start to sound quite stale nearing the middle of the record and there's not a whole lot of interesting musical ideas to make up for it. The vocalist still can hit the notes, but it's unfortunate that there aren't any harsher vocals considering the tone of the album appears darker. A little diversity among how each song sounds next to one another would've been better. I think Claire Q. nailed it in the review. Most of these songs are better off isolated and work as their own. Regardless, the content on this album still holds up through a couple more spins and favorites of mine here are "Float On", "Just Shy", and "Cherry Lemon".

I dig it. The ambiance combined with the instrumentation is a plus as it adds to the soundscape and gives the records some sort of identity. Additionally, the somber melodic tone of the compositions also worked well for the type of narrative it was encompassing. Though, something isn't necessarily clicking with me with the vocals. I might have to give this a couple more spins to see if this grows on me or not, but I think it's solid as is.

Logic Young Sinatra IV
Coming from the previous two albums (Everybody and Bobby Tarantino II), I was surprised by how
this record sounds. The beats share similar qualities of the likes of "The Incredible True Story"
and "Under Pressure" and the flows are pretty nice too. Some tracks that were my favorites are
"Everybody Dies", "Wu Tang Forever", and "YSIV". With that said, several of the tracks feel like
they dragged a bit (With the exception of Wu Tang Forever and YSIV). The opening track "Thank You"
starts out with an interesting vibe but then shifts to a long string of messages from fans for
about 3.5 minutes. While that is a nice way of acknowledgment, it feels like a closing track
rather than the opener. Although I dig the narrative of the song "Legacy", and this may be a
personal thing, I think it should've ended at the end of the third verse. The skit that follows is
fine as it illustrates the previous verses, but it feels like it repeats the narrative again.
Finally, The last track "Last Call" feels like a nice genuine track that ties the bow on the
album, but it seems like Logic just rambles a bit near the end. I think that trimming some of the
songs down a bit would've been nice. Despite that, I think this album is alright. Worth checking
out.

I kind of dig "A.W.O.L" and "Ivory" though. Also, I found the frequent f-bombs dropped "Stygian Blue" to be a bit overkill. Not that I'm offended by vulgarities, obviously, but it was kind of repetitive.

TesseracT Sonder
I tried with this album, but after several more spins, I couldn't really get into it anymore. "Orbital" and "Smile" are still the tracks I like, but the novelty of their sound seems to be lost. "Luminary" especially is the weakest song here.

The Contortionist Intrinsic
Yeah, the production/mixing on this album is very questionable. The most glaring example being in "Dreaming Schematics" at 2:13 where the verse ends, and then you're hit with a loud, sudden shock of guitars. The only tracks I see myself going back to on this record were "Holomovement", "Geometric Confusion", and "Anatomy Anomalies" (I'll agree that the song titles are kind of pretentious as well). All in all, it's one of The Contortionist's weakest records, but it's still "ok".
The Contortionist Sporadic Movements
It's interesting hearing the beginnings of At The Hands of Machi- I mean, The Contortionist. It's certainly a lot heavier and more technical than their newer releases and certainly a lot more experimental. Some hits and some misses, but I think it still holds up today.
The Contortionist Our Bones
I feel that "Clairvoyant" seemed like the necessary book-end to this sort of narrative that the group has established with the previous two LPs. I was wondering exactly what and rwhere the group will take their sound next after that massive conclusion, and I suppose this is nice enough to quench that suspicion. Despite clinging to that sort of lyricism, rthe record is concise and to the point. "Early Grave" and the cover of "1979" were pretty good all things considered. Quite the musical transition this band went through this rdecade. Edit: Nevermind.

A pretty enjoyable and psychedelic album to jam out to. This certainly has some influences of the likes of Tame Impala with songs like "Chill Society" and a few others. Vocals and instrumentations were handled well and the synths definitely added to the tracks and diversified them as well, although I think at times, the synths were slightly invasive in the mix. Despite that, I think it's an overall solid LP. Favorites for me were "Suicidal Saturday", "Chill Society", and "Fun Track Mind (Sorry I Double Texted)". P.S: TANE Impala.

Vasudeva Generator
Whitewoods Spaceship Earth
The distorted beats/samples along with the spacey vocals is pretty much what I like most with this record. However, I think the vocals are drowned out a bit too much by the vintage-like beats themselves. "Be Home Free" is the definitive track on the album that summarizes what I like most about the record. I'd still recommend giving this record a shot if you're into something funky.

Not bad, but the record leaves a lot to be desired. I appreciate Daniel's vocals since they match the mellow tone of how things sound as a whole, but the safe instrumentation seems barren in comparison. Leaves a lot of the songs unmemorable and if feels that it's heavily relying on Daniel's vocal prowess to take the forefront. (Some of the other artists takes fixed that issue) Despite that, I did enjoy "Black the Sun" and "Cinders", but it's somewhere between a 2.5 and a 3 for me.

Eh... Not really feeling this one. It has its moments but I just can't really get into it. The clean vocals stick out like a sore thumb and heavily take away from the songs quality at times. At least "Sporadic Movements" sounded better than it's original rendition, I guess, but in general, there are way too many breakdowns here and I think it ruins the cohesion of this EP.

U.S. Girls Heavy Light
This record starts off really strong, and that's one of its strongest suits, but something about the middle and latter half of the record loses steam. The interludes especially started to get a tad monotonous spliced in between the tracks, yeah. I'll give it some more time, but "4 American Dollars", "Overtime", and the closing track are really good tunes from the bunch on this record.
Uneven Structure La Partition
There's a lot of potential hidden within this record, but the production seemed to have screwed up the majority of the tunes here. It lacks that "punch" that 8 and Februus had and the layering is very noticeable. I still like half of the songs though and the beief ambient pieces. "Alkaline Throat", "Crystal Teeth", and "Incube" seem to stand out from the rest of the tracks for me. Still, I wish things here didn't sound so off.

Afterlife (USA-FL) Breaking Point
Sounds decent instrumentally, but lyrically has pretty predictable themes and messages which becomes its own downfall in the long run. The rap/speech interludes at times especially ruined most of the songs and heavily clash with the screams and the cleans throughout the record. Regardless, the song I found at least enjoyable was the closing track "Broken Home" as it at least breaks up the monotonous themes and vocal pace a bit from the rest of the album. I'm sure twelve-year-old me would eat this album up.

Dope D.O.D. Do Not Enter
Welp, I should've listened to them. What a way to end the decade.
Elvis Presley Having Fun with Elvis on Stage
This is the greatest grind/doom/metalcore record I've ever heard.
Emmure Felony
Hello Kitty Suicide Club ^_^
I'm sure there was a multitude of noise complaints filed while this was being recorded.
Lil Xan TOTAL XANARCHY
Dammit. I can't rate this a 0.5, so I'll just have to go with a 1. You win this round, Lil Xan...
Lymphangioleiomyomatosis Lymphangioleiomyomatosis
Well then, I wasn't expecting both idubbbz or FilthyFrank to be on a grind record.
MetaL BrotherS Thunders - Demo
This demo will go down in history... for different reasons.
Protest the Hero Sequoia Throne: Remixed
The Chainsmokers Sick Boy...This Feeling
Wow uh... that was certainly an experience. There was absolutely no cohesion within the album
whatsoever as songs appear to be all over the place. The only redeeming quality the album has is
the chorus of "Side Effects", but that's not enough to save this album for me.

Also, why is the heart on the character on the right on the opposite side of its body? Whoops.
Tom Morello The Atlas Underground
Words cannot describe how befuddled I am at how the arrangements and compositions of these songs were created. You'll have to listen to it for yourself to get a better idea.
Tougher Than Nails Delusional Blasphemies Destroyed
Unleashing My Demons Tran(ce)scen(e)dance
Various Artists (Hip Hop) Pornhub Valentine's Day Album
This is it. This is the pinnacle of human achievements. Absolutely indisputable. Our entire existence, historic events, and technological advancements have all lead up to... this.
Whitehorse Apple Seed
I don't think there's anything that can top this. Checking this out from morbid curiosity was my first mistake.
