Thought I was going to a "normal grind band" but this is so far from it in an incredible way. To rgive you an idea of the sound you got the Cannibal Corpse's grind, but also go from Archspire's rtechdeath, to Pig Destroyer's smashing and engagingly memorable riffs, to vocal delivery like rAnaal Nathrakh. They deliver the full package, from the cover (you really feel the cover lol) to rthe concept, to the actual music. Adding to this is the great concept and atmosphere (created on rslower parts and cool intros and interludes). The theme is slightly politic and speaks about the rmedia influence in Humanity in an horror movie setting. Fave tracks are like 5/6 lol but check rT/T, Vespertine Decay and The Final Absolution. |
Aborted RetroGore |
The groove is immense with this one. I tried
really hard not to "put like" on every track. |
Aborted Engineering the Dead |
for some reason I can't five this band but they're definitely one of my faves deathgrind bands. This is coming out as my 3rd fave from them and def my fave early aborted. Recd tracks - T/track and Skullfuck Crescendo |

As you go far in the record you just see these guys fucking rule. Also this "clowny" thing could be a bummer, but in this case helps them not to take themselves too serious, and explore more terrains (which a i dig a lot). Super Fun doom! Perfect junction of the band's name m/ |
Ad Nauseam Nihil Quam Vacuitas Ordinatum Est |
Afterbirth Four Dimensional Flesh |
What a brilliant fresh piece to unfold...imagine insert post gazey rock melodies in the most gritty kind of brutal deathmetal...awesome stuff...riffs are super dynamic in constant change (awesome to more awesome riffs though). I also personally dig how the drums sound here. Perfect mix. If you dig Artificial Brain you can't miss this. Not to mention, in this World's Corona threat, you have awesome song titles like - Spiritually Transmitted Disease or Minimum Self Distance...out of this subject, Beheading the Buddha is a hard song title, not has a hard as the track itself tho m/ x). |
Afterbirth The Time Traveler's Dilemma |
Unique gritty sounding DM with postrock/hxc sensibilities...cool modern vibe while remaining faithfull to dm roots...this is my type of sound because its bold and challenges musical boundaries in the purest of forms. |

Akercocke Antichrist |
Yeah...this one has def some of their best tunes. My Apterous Angel is so fuckin awesome! The rtribal aspects on the album here "a la Choronzon" are also a bliss. I have soft spot for Words, rbut starting to rather some tunes from this one and even Renaissance. Now you know this is pure rblasphemy. Band is sput underloved, but its a damn classic one.r |

This dude's work is the main cornerstone on Brazilian modern music. So does, and mainly this

than this though. Grande Tom. |
Arctic Monkeys Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not |
Ashenspire Hostile Architecture |
Astrix He.art |
Atvm Famine, Putrid and Fucking Endless |
Atvm in my native language (Portuguese) would be literally translated to Tvna, which would be (I'm sure it isn't) the "perfect" name for the the fun they're all having along this whole thing. You can definitely tell their Death worship, yet always throwing multi-genre (tech prog dm rock psy thrash hm) adventurous writing. The guitar riffs and leads are super cool and unexpectedly melodic, but the massive highlights go in fact for the bass lines and licks and for this monstrously tight and insane drummer. Prodwise you can listen to everything and its melodic and beyond playful. Hands down. Sick cover art, sick cool band and debut. |
Azusa Heavy Yoke |
This is what I call the real tDEP attitude. Genre bending stuff. Here's how you start to enjoy
this album: You put it on, then again and again and again...let it breathe...and then again m/m/m/
rproduction is slick, execution is tight, vocals delicious and the mood is perfect throughout the
album. Ethernel Echo is for a fact a killer track. "This is a 5 gents and ladies, buy the fucking

Birds in Row Gris Klein |
Black Curse Endless Wound |
"...that features members of Blood Incantation, Spectral Voice, Khemmis, and Primitive Man." this
statement alone is reason enough for me to 4 it....turns out this album is one 4.5 of a slapper
for a start. Now you tell me, what does the main riff from t/track does to you? |
Black Peaks Statues |
A lesson how to be multigenre and versatile without losing your soul. Hints of Mastodonlike prog riffs added to their posthardcore core mixing sounds from ATDI, PTW and ETID, even some mathy tDEP (but more accessible than all of these). Vocalist is simply amazing. All these sounds are blended flawlessly and with true own identity. |
Black Sabbath Master of Reality |
Black Sabbath Black Sabbath |
Black Sabbath Sabbath Bloody Sabbath |
Although I love the previous one, I sure can tell it's really sludgy rough...this one has the perfect mix, balance and vibe. It's prog nature fits really nice on this fuzzy doom, in a very personal and unique way. |

I think the cover is awesome, however it can be misleading (with the title of the album) when you jump expecting for a psychedelic exp. Haallucinahliaand and Cosma Procyiris though are indeed a cool tone change towards this idea. The album. Its not indeed an immense trip through psychedelia but a very gazey and beautiful BM album, with some true metal riffs to keep you engaged m/ |
Blut Aus Nord Disharmonium - Undreamable Abysses |
OMG yeah this one reaaaally hits fuck yeah. I am

4.5 Convergeresque Post Blackened Skramz!!! Late discover of mine for definitely one of the best releases this year. Even the electronic interludes are awesome. |
Cara Neir Portals to a Better, Dead World |
damn awesome album...a little less sophisticated than their last one, but still relentless and diverse from screamo, to hxc, to BM, to post as in this to final tracks...amazing and unique band. Pretty much what I look for in music. |
Carach Angren Where the Corpses Sink Forever |
Carcass Heartwork |
Carlos Paredes Uma Guitarra com Gente Dentro |
Castevet Obsian |
Such a dark feel but beautiful chord progressions. Unique brand of black and death, sprinkled with prog and gazey soundscapes all around. 4.5 material. It's almost as if you can listen each band member's influences. It could be a mess, but when it's nailed like this its just awesome, ending up building something unique imo. |

This band is more on the sludge and post metal side maybe, idk. And it has some hardcore reminescents, so yeah the metalcore tag would fit if this wasn't so dense. There's also a lot of death metal (more in here than Mire) pulling us back to Opeth mid era, and of course black metal aspects all over the place (blast beats and high pitch vocals). And now how do they put all these in one single vibe/ ID is the most impressive. Other point is how they still make it to be this emotional and pure/genuine is beyond my reach and rare as fuck nowdays. Stay tuned on Conjurer mates! |

Gorgeous cover...immersive listen...Its amazing how lately cover arts and music are so complementary for me, mainly in this genre...this is some artsy tech thrash...as if you just left the vault 101, at some point you regret that (to the point you question yourself "where am I?"), because its an harsh and intricate journey, yet its all worth it, cause that's what heroes and adventures are made of. |

and what incredible vibe this one has...insta 4.5 for me...all tracks are really something...this Julie female front vocal sounds amazing in the genre, looking a bit possessed...Cult of Luna keeps the good shape m/ beautiful beautiful partnership. The only thing I could point out on COL is the harsh vocals all the time...that ain't no issue here. Climaxes are built perfectly. All tracks are pretty damn perfect. |

Downfall of Gaia Suffocating in the Swarm of Cranes |
Downthesun Downthesun |
Excellent lost nu-metal release. Lots experimental, noise, glitches, pure rage, some constraint, great bass are the ingredients. Use of high screeches uncommon for the genre at the time. I made one of those pirate copies myself back in the days (printed cover and all) mix of nostalgia and realizing the quality is still there. This album is high quality to the genre, contesting with Slipknot, Korn, Mudvayne and others more successful. TKS xxm |

I don t remember this to be God of a riff fest and insanity personified on drums. Volcanic Birth is almost beautiful. bumpr |
Dvne Asheran |
I would say it has some progressive and sludge metal too...amazing album! I would say this is a kind of early's crack the Skye Mastodon with sludgy Neurosis. Gotta keep an eye on these guys. Thank you users from sputnik for putting this in some of your 2017 lists. |
Dvne Etemen Ænka |
Big album and very well done. A bit long, considering it repeats the dynamic structures too much. Title track is legit stuff and all tracks are practically as good, throwing a lot of influenes in one homogenous sound. Asheran was killer tho and gave more the sense of adventour. Edit - @loveforeverchanges listen to CoL. |

I dug Utgard ngl, specially how it flows. E not so much. Axioma is a fucking banger. And this is actually a different level from Utgard. More nuanced and intricate. With more special places to explore. This sounds as if mastodon went bm in some tracks, but this has much more, from meshuggary to opeth and still leaves space for several 70s prog takes. I keep switching my fave tracks on this. Borderline 5 prog metal gem. |

A bit more polished version of EHG with more emphasis in some cool southern rock riffing, inspiring a bit more of party mode on some tracks. This may please fans of more old school death metal (Opeth, Bloodbath, Cryptopsy) but also the

really good speed up pace stoner. Great songwriting, weather in the shorter fast tracks or in the
more progressive longer ones. Riffs everywhere and cool solos. I found also plenty of originality
on the drums sounding really organic. Loving this and I'm glad I gave this guys a second chance,

DiTC is what I'm talking about. The groove filled with those whipping riffs hit my weak spot. The
vocal delivery on that one is amazing too. The drum and guitar song interludes are intense and
fitting to the whole song and just give the enough prog vibe I also enjoy on these guys.
yesyesyes...I've got a new favorite band. |
Hooded Menace Darkness Drips Forth |
Hooded Menace Fulfill the Curse |
Hooded Menace The Tritonus Bell |
Up tempo" more "accessible" Hooded Menace with hints of heavy metal. Tight af, as per usual, and the mix and tone hit just perfect. Best deathdoom tone in the biz. All their albums slay, what can I say.r |
Horrendous Idol |
Though everything is a bit low (to get all things you need to pump up the vol quite a bit) is rreally nice how this band can be from really abusive DM to really prog and melodic (even in some rawesome back-vocals) all at once. The fret-less bass (audible af!) is just everywhere and perfect, rvicious and addictive guitar riffs. Everything on this is really good but, aesthetically speaking, rthe vocals are really setting them apart! Whether melodic or that desperate raw mid-tone scream. rSuch a cool release this one. Band is pretty much underrated here! Dudes go from absolute heavy rampage to the most beautiful

I love this record mainly cause I love the retro vibe, specially on the drumms, together with the radioheady floydisms. On other tunes it just pulls me straight to Nick Drake f.e. Okay...Imma cut it straight...I'm not a folk fan but this Finnish trio's debut is making me
reconsider. Sweet cheeseless and fast folk BM, super cool keyboards (of flutes, violins and
choirs) and several appointments off awesome DM thrash riffs hit my G spot every time. Even the
somewhat bad production adds something to this for me. I think the vocals here are just perfect.

Mastodon Remission |
Mastodon Hushed and Grim |
As if disc 1 wasn t already a super solid display of Mastodon bangers, disc 2 is where it's at boys. They give you a spiritual connection to early Mastodon and specially Crack the Skye's sense of journeyand vibe. Although not as heavy, is certainly a mature, smoothed Mastodon which proves the band is aging well and aware. I asked for a new Mastodon full on prog and this is close enough. Exceded my expectations in every way, and specially based on the singles, that work much better in context. I want to say I love Gobblers of Dregs and Eyes of Serpents, but right before you have the heaviest here Savage Lands m/. Before those you have eerie almost power ballad Had it All and the bold experimental Peace and tranquility and esoteric Dagger. Disc 1 while not necessarily worse is certainly more direct and helps to kill the Don thirst. Big praise to the quantity, quality and rawness of the solos. This thing is drenched. Tk you Mastodon. |
Mefitis Offscourings |
For me this album is a prog black/dark metal near masterpiece. Take these late dm acts like Horrendous or prog Cryptic Shift, with a fair blackened melodic slice from bands such as Dissection, adding these 70's prog vibe with chanting choirs and some wicked solos, provided by one of the dudes from the cover - since the main band are only 2 of them. Cover is as quirky as bold eheh as they are. It's definitely one misunderstood gem going by. I'll make sure it doesn't fall into oblivion. |

Napalm Death Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism |
What an awesome continuation from Apex Predator. Production is a tad cleaner, yet they delve deeper in experimentation with this one, loosing a bit of the straight fw grindcore, specially noticeable in the post/ industrial takes a la Godflesh mixed with samples and nasty riffs like Pig Destroyer (f.e.), gives it this sense of dark/ disturbing instead of goofy. Def my kind of grindcore. |
Necrophobic Darkside |
Necrophobic Hrimthursum |
Necrot Mortal |
Time to put some justice into this. This album is a major step fw from the debut, in terms of
writing, technicality and production. With these kind of unique time signatures they put
themselves among top acts like Tomb Mold, Ulthar, BI etc...as an all they nailed with the perfect
runtime (7 tracks) for this kind of DM, much like Tomb Mold. Riffs, leads and ID of their own
though, amazing drumming, and mainly catch how the solos fit super sweet. It's a really fun OSDM
listen and it may be one of the reasons why its being slightly overlooked here. Recd tracks: Dying

On their second release, this black metalcore outfit, impress even more. This time around they fully embrace the chaotic Deathspell Omeguish sound, as raw as you can get. Deep atmosphere demanding a full listen experience. m/rFave tracks: Mirroring; Repulsion and Escapism II; Symbology of Shelter |

Numenorean Adore |
Oh boy...this comes out to me many times as if Deftones and Gojira had a blackgaze child, but I'm sure everyone would find their own vibes from this, across many genres, from punk rock to osdm. This sense of nostalgia does not compromise how fresh and modern this still sounds. Full of melody, memorable tracks, hooks, catchiness and highlights (rare in the genre). In love with it. Recd tracks: Portrait of Pieces;Horizon; Regret; Coma. |

Oathbreaker Audiotree Sessions |
Oathbreaker Rheia |
Obliteration Nekropsalms |
Wow this one is a massive jam m/ maybe simpler songwriting (doom first and OSDM/thrash then and then again) but my fave from Obliteration m/m/ all sweet deathdoom bangers. The drums are impressive, and the bass as some crazy cool effects. considering the 5 bump. |
Obliteration Perpetual Decay |
You're in this for a really grindy OSDM riff fest with shredding solos. You get the real Death and thrash vibes here. Practically no doom. Awesome and relentless debut. Production is really great and the vocals are mainly low growls but really punchy and interpretative. I put like on every track lol |

I love this, can't yet to divide this from Waste of Space Orchestra, or the (for me obvious) grim vibe from Magma's (70'0s psyprog band) influence, in an evil and insane, yet tribal and entrancing, BM outfit. |
Os Mutantes A Divina Comédia ou Ando Meio Desligado |

Panopticon The Rime of Memory |
Papangu Holoceno |
If you dig the murkiest of murky Magma textures, combined with prog&jazz free writing like KC, all complemented with some sick sludge riffing/mix and finished with the most stellar drumming...oh and almost forgot, Brazilian Tropicalia movement vibe sprinkled all around, then this may be what you're looking for in a long time. |

This is fuckin city evil. Its awesome and depressive, if you feel me! Some said it makes them think as an evil(er) version of teethed glory and injury, which makes sense in the way the industrial bm pummeling is displayed. Its a tough af listen but its a grabber since the very first second you put on. Omfg kinda listen. |

Brilliant work of textures. I'm a huge fan of these guys. |
Protest the Hero Kezia |
Psychonaut Unfold the God Man |
This album is very good though and its like a starting mash up, that match my tastes on too many parts for me to ignore, and it slowly builds into one own identity as the album goes on. The album is very immediate, but, in my experience, it holds to many listens. 70 minutes fly by. Fave tracks are Sannanda, Celestial Dictator....and beast 15 minutes closer. Basically what Dedex said in his soundoff but with 4.5 rate. |
Pulling Teeth Paranoid Delusions/Paradise Illusions |
they're thrash crossover band and they're awesome on their last 3 releases, adding more doom towards the end. Album is amazing. Just give it a chance. |

Ripped to Shreds 劇變 (Jubian) |
Glad we're all digging Ripped to Shreds. Being a
deathgrind release its impressive how memorable
and dynamic it is. They even managed to put a 10
minute track (In Solitude) with a doom finale a la
Hooded Menace. Also the solos are super cool! |
Rivers of Nihil Where Owls Know My Name |
Who says DeathMetal can't be relaxing? Classy and smooth release from Rivers of Nihil, going really "proggy sax&pink floydish" at times on this one. If you check their t/T videoclip you see them ironically dressed up as 70's psychedelic hipsters, which gave me a cool twist of "funny fellas".rRecd Tracks - The Silent Life; A Home |
Rolo Tomassi Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It |
this album is really good...gonna bump it again...some times the hype and little girl's vocal annoys me...but then I give the album space to breathe and I come back to it and feel like 4.5 to 5 it. This quality really sticks...how gentle and soft it starts, then it gets really darker and heavier...then the jazz and piano features just give them that uniqueness and identity. Adding to that is the way everything flows because everything is brilliantly connected. |

Album is pretty brilliant. The variance shown for a psystoner album is impressive...the album flow is also remarkable. Spacey guitars, psy synths, 70's vibe choirs and tight little bad assdrumming. I get some awesome late Elder vibes on this. Recd track - Citadel on a Satellite. |

A great hidden gem here TKS to Shuyin. Beautiful balance between melodic and screaming. Personally this touches some Poison The Well and Deftones buttons with a PostMetal vibe (CoL and The Ocean). These guys pull it off perfectly without becoming cheesy or too emo. Creative work, though towards the end the lack of complexity in guitar work, may not much being added. The drumming is by far the best performance here. A really stand out. False Idols, Triple Gemini and Dark Sun are my faves. |
The National High Violet |
The Ocean Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic |
This is a beautiful piece of art. This time the band went full postmetal on this one and nailed
it. All tracks with astounding progression and ambiance, beautiful melodic vocals and dynamic
tracks. Starts right with Cambrian II: Eternal Recurrence as the first and more memorable
highlight, Devonian: NascentKatatonia feat Katatonia another and the closer track nailing hard. |
The Ocean Precambrian |
two parts. The first one with an odd but surprisingly good punkrock vibe. The second one with a
more postmetal feel. The way these songs progress is speechless. Everything is unexpectedly raw.

The Ominous Circle Appalling Ascension |
Great Portuguese band (From members from Holocausto Canibal, Colosso, Dementia 13). Sometimes it
may look too simplistic, but amazing drumworks with vicious guitar solos and malicious growls are
really impressive. Poison Fumes is the shit m/...
Edit - This grew a lot on second listen. This is kind of special stuff in the Portuguese scene
imo. Besides Poison Fumes being the obvious "single"...those last 3 tracks are enthralling as hell
once you're already into the "trance" the album can provide. Dive in this. The vibe is amazingly
evil. |
The Ruins of Beverast Exuvia |
The Ruins of Beverast The Thule Grimoires |
Approaching a more gothic industrial vibe on this one, not so focused on heaviness, or the maddening fast bm (see Rain Upon the Impure), but definitely showing how versatile this guy can be. The atmosphere as always is sick and spot on. Digging more and more the melodic vocals (props for the amount of different type of vocals he can reach). Another big piece with room to grow on me. That closer is so lushy, woof. |

So, it really still feels like Tomb Mold but yeah in a more shiny DM approach...nothing wrong so far m/ I like this band very much. It jazzgroooves boys. This album has grown 3-4 for me. Recently I've become more sensitive to this sound and this one is pure filth&class. Edit - 4.5 - These dudes are infectious and rule live m/m/ conquered! |
Tribulation The Formulas of Death |
1st step on transforming their sound, the mixing of psychedelic with a somewhat osdm and bm vibe
is just top notch. They've completely excelled this time and went right up my alley. One thing I'm
over enjoying in here (call me what you want lol) is the more proggy side dm/osdm, reminding bands
such as Morbus Chron f.e. This is Tribulation's prime effort for me atm. Recd Tracks - Suspiria;

Trouble Trouble/Psalm 9 |
beast embryonic Doom record. Highly impressed by this. I think I may dig this over the upcoming Candlemass' |
Type O Negative Slow, Deep, and Hard |
TypeOneg at their rawest but still a very conceptual album. Unexpected talented band for me. From Doom to thrash, to punkRock, to gothic, to industrial. As dark as hilarious. Recd Tracks - Xero Tolerence; Prelude to Agony. |
Type O Negative Bloody Kisses |
A girl cums, then first 2 tracks in and I thought "this is dogshit" then started to get all those different vibes and influences track to track...from Doom to punk to industrial and yeah gothic...really amusing. |
Ulcerate Stare Into Death and Be Still |

Vital Spirit Still as the Night, Cold as the Wind |
Okay. Honnestly this grows af. The folk (western spaggheti like) elements are so subtelly introduced its actually part of the epic music and intended vibe. The album flows beautifully. The bm parts, riffs and guitar leads simply slap! |
Voices London |
Amazing dark atmosphere and post aspects. Love for the intro "Music For The Recently Bereaved" - roller-coaster of a track m/m/ the ride begins and with the Actress and Vicarious Lover only gets better and better. Megan's ending drum solo! Imaginary - the acoustic guitar meddled in such an heavy song is wrecking good. Antidote - simple, beautiful and powerful. The Fuck Trance - The Fuck trance. Hourglass - a very good old school classic metal track. The House Black Light- just take the ride m/m/. Last Train Victoria - Did you spread your legs for him the way you do for me? |
Warforged I: Voice |
Highly impressive AvantGarde Progressive Blackened TechDeath, with acoustic, piano and psychedelic and/or jazzy appointments making all this thing really shine throughout...It never falls into blandness, great sense of atmosphere, can even show an emotional side. Beneath the Forest Floor hits me every time. Then you have crazy jazzy track Old Friend or the best metal minute of the year (without a doubt) on The Color Of My Memory's first and exact minute. |
Warforged Essence Of The Land |

This shit rules. Honestly shake things up, together with PD and FoH. It has some of the coolest punk hxc and post hxc cuts from comeback kid (turn it around and wake the dead era) to converge and I'm sure some other cool punk bands yall know and I dont lol. It also sticks to a sound and an own ID, cool atmosphere, narrative and what? Are these emotions I feel? In grindcore? Gtfo it almost goes blackgaze at times. Get a grip folks XDr |

This is sounding way more badass than the lp release. The production feels way better and I prefer the vocals more on front like on this one. They re only 3 nerdy fellas and they re all amazing. Whata jam. Recd tracks - the all 23 minutes |

Zapruder Zapruder |
As you press play on this keep in mind that you're in for a treat. Its really great how playful
and fun it goes, but the mood starts to turn in the middle (blame the sax as well) in a more
serious introspective way. The sax is indeed delicious and these vocals are just so crazy
versatile&varied that I'm still digesting them. Stoner Lemmy (or Matt Pike lol) going hardcore is
indeed something else, but that's just one tip of the iceberg for this fella called Isaac Ruder.
Great vibes from tDEP, HoF and ETID and I bet many others. This was a treat. They knocked it out
of the park. 4.5 on it and I think it will stick. |

The melodic vocals are very well pulled for this type of BM...whata surprising good release this is. |
Aborted ManiaCult |
Not as strong output as Terrorvision or Retrogore, essentially because of solos and leads aren't so mindbending as in those 2 imo. Still their new approach inserting BM on their brootal and technical DM brand goes on and keeps me going. They also insert some pretty cool Hardcore nods and hooks. Sven is absolutely diverse and savage - dynamic and theatrical af as always. |
Aborted The Necrotic Manifesto |
Aborted Goremageddon: The Saw and the Carnage... |
Aborted The Archaic Abattoir |
This time they inserted these "southern rock" riffs and vibe, injecting a lot of Pig Destroyer's
(at times like ETID too lol) riffing groove which makes this right up my alley. It may come off as
bit slower paced than usual for Aborted but they're clearly exploring the "punch" in here. You can
have a full fun time with this one. m/m/ Fave Tracks: Dead Wreckoning; The Gangrenous epitaph and
The Inertia. |
Aborted Global Flatline |
Another great release from the coolest deathgrind band. Do the job as always. A bit more formulaic and less surprising than Terrorvision or Retrogore. Fave tracks - Fecal Forgery; Of scabs and boils; Grime) |

Acid Witch Rot Among Us |
A brighter prod. Fun and riffy stonerdoom as heck. That little organ is a cool treat. Psychediathic Swampnosis is awesome. Also Evil Dad (Dad by Dawn) is my tune. Their least DM release. Fun bluesy vibe here and there.r |
Acoustic Ladyland Living With A Tiger |
Super Cool. Wasn't expecting it to be instrumental. Sax is organic af, it practically takes the part of lead singer. Brilliant songwriting and "albumwriting". TKS Demon. Will sure get back to this.r |
Acrimony Tumuli Shroomaroom |
Ad Nauseam Imperative Imperceptible Impulse |
I now enjoy both their albums differently, but in similar measure. The writing is a bit more dynamic on the debut, giving it more mounts and hills to explore, but they also resemble like other known outputs (spectacularly nonetheless, and what outputs they are!). In here they try to aim for one full sound/ construction...which is this thing...I dig this experiment for what it is as they explained (check their bandcamp description). This is a beast of an album, with a ton of jaw dropping moments, it though requires a very focused listen and when you're fully engaged is when it shines the most. |
Aepoch Awakening Inception |
I thought on 2nd track "if there's more tracks like Delirium of Negation it will be awesome"And it
does! And what great fucking debut! m/m/ my The bass is what make this awesome and special (very
good guitar solos as well). At the same time the "audible bass" makes the whole thing a little
less heavier than it should at times. Also not a big fan of this type of vocals - but that's just
me...this is good techdeath prog but with good songwriting preventing it from being just
"wanking"...I really hope to get back to it X) |
Aeviterne The Ailing Facade |
Afterbirth 2014 Demo |
Instrumental piece guessing the band's success in subsequent LP's. Cirque Sombre Noir has somerriffs from Eternal Return (from The Time Traveler's Dilemma). You also get the full instrumentalrpiece from Spiritually Transmitted Disease (Four Dimensional Flesh) and Maggots in Her Smile (TherTime Traveler's Dilemma). Amazing stuff all the way m/m/m/ |

Akhlys The Dreaming I |
Al Goregrind The Temple Is Burning |
This is amazing uncommon deathgrind. Apparently inspired by starwars, it has this vicious
background organ delivering a certain depth to their music. Also the notion of melody is
really well explored for the genre, but you know...always in a wicked fucking manner...Recd Tracks
- Burnham Chose Well; All Hail to Vader; Rancor Rampage; The Rule of Two; Darth Nihilius. |

Definitely not focused on building that light vs dark thing they are known for. Perfectly fine by me. Neither those endless crescendos well known for the genre, which I find sometimes to be kinda annoying...just me tho. This fits me the right way. Songs are beautiful...and there's cool riffing this time, in detriment for multi-details/instrumentation m/r |

The band tuned on versatility and dynamic songwriting, upgrading what they did on the debut (which is very solid as well). Digging this bluesy vibe. A very atmospheric piece. |

had this on repeat until they took it out from my music app. Here's the bandcamp - https://ancientmastery.bandcamp.com/album/chapter-one-across-the-mountains-of-the-dr-mmarskol. The synths are cheesy af, but also give this sense of retro charm to the songs, that when they riff, they go pretty damn hard. Sweet debut release. |
Anciients Heart of Oak |
this is more of an easy 4 than the other...the altrock approach on this one (mainly vocally) set
them apart from other progdeathmetal bands. Really diggin this one. The Longest River, Raise the

Awesome and even overwhelming BM, with some tracks to remember. Great guitars and
variety of vocals, only wished they explore a bit more melodic vocals. Pretty different and,
though it goes hard as fuck is less chaotic or insane as Blut Aus Nord or DsO. A 4 experience
nontheless X). Recd tracks - IX; X; XI. |

Balance Interruption Door 218 |
Great take of Eastern BM, with some Industrial aspects and a majestic jazzy sax in many tracks,
merged perfectly. These 3 aspects makes this sound very unique. |
Baleia Quebra Azul |
Brazilian music has so many good things, that I'm a bit torn between a 3.5 a 4. The listen is very enjoyable , although its indie nature it offers some welcome variety on vocals (fem and male) and compositions that overcomes a somewhat washed psych vibe. There's many "hipster" Brazilian bands embracing this psychedelic sound, based on the classics (Caetano Veloso, Jobim etc etc ect). |
Barishi Old Smoke |
I have to like all Masotodonian sound with a dear in the front cover. For lovers of early Mastodon
that don't mind going a little harder. |

Well this dudes new aesthetic, as long with the fuckin cool solos and overall instrumentation
manage to surpass some simplicity and predictability in their songwriting. Really cool release and
easy 4 makes me realize how special The Satanist is and considering the bump. The only step back
is that I miss the heavy guitar distortion on this one. Favorite tracks: Ecclesia Diabolica

Let me start this way. I'm gonna be a father next year and this cover gives the creeps! Though the risk of falling into blandness is constant, you can go from start to finish and always find awesome deathgroove, cool riffs and crazy flawless solos, all in one single noise doomy mix. "The Goat of Mendes was a short lived project combining live guitars mixed with (industrial) dubstep. Before the wobbles arrived period, so to say. Live guitars mixed with Death Metal / Industrial (Carcass, Pitch Shifter, Godflesh) and Dubstep (Scorn, Broken Note, King Cannibal, etc). This particualr liveset was recorded at a PRSPCT event back in december 2008." Taken from bandcamp - https://bong-ra.bandcamp.com/album/the-goat-of-mendes |

Bruno Pernadas Those Who Throw Objects at the Crocodiles... |
Back to the 70s psych&spacey love boat vibe...merging all jazzy inputs from latest work. Still not as tender as the debut but I think it got it right again. |

Highly mockable release if you don't get it as pure mockery. Really like these nerds and the concept they go for on each release. Also big take on experimental, adding to the called screamoBM takes, hip/tripop, punk, jazz and yeap those retro game 8bit samples. |

Conan Existential Void Guardian |
don't know the rest of their discog but this slays! I love the vocals on it, and despite is
doom/sludge they provide us some faster tracks and sections with brilliant faster drumming. The
guitarwork is typical sludge/doom with perfect distortion for the genre. No solos nor technical
guitarwork though. It can be a little short for the genre! Fave tracks: Prosper The Path; Volt
Thrower; Vexxagon. |
Conan Evidence of Immortality |
Conan Osiris ADORO BOLOS |
Once you start you don't quite know what to expect. You don't know if this dude is practical joke

Cosmic Putrefaction The Horizons Towards Which Splendour Withers |
Very cool cinematic syfy DM. To even think this is a one man project is beyond my reach. |
Cosmic Putrefaction Crepuscular Dirge for the Blessed Ones |
Being the previous on the atmospheric side (as far as I remember lol), I would never thought this dude would come up with such bangers on here m/ awesome stuff. |
Creeping Death Wretched Illusions |
This one is easy for me. Very fun, sea of riffs and breaks. I think the reviewer explain very well what this is about. Not very impressed with drums but they do the job. Its not really crossover but you can tell the way they change and punch that these guys come from an HXC background. |

Cryptopsy None So Vile |
Cult Leader A Patient Man |
I admit that the contrast between the soft tracks and the heavier ones is a bit too much, but I think its only cause the heavy tracks are indeed heavy as fuck me twice. Still prefer their previous release still a really good effort from this pretty unique band. First 3 tracks (Heal ME is one hell of an opener) will smash you completely on heavy part. A Patient Man leads on the calmer tracks as my faves. |

Dark Angel Time Does Not Heal |
Dark Fortress Spectres from the Old World |
Really good metal hybrid. From the melodic BM starting point, this goes in several influences (prog, DM, thrash, techeath (intro). Beyond that, another really strong point is the variety of the vocals output, from the harsh BM ones to almost a post/sludge melodic ones. I loved the soft vocals on Spider in the Web. Also the vocals on the verse on Pali Aike or Isa f.e. gives me serious Mastodon vibes, but with its own character and freshness...In the Deepest Time is also a main jam, as with the massive T/track m/ Only setback for me are the 2 final tracks which seemed a bit unnecessary, albeit with a cool atmosphere. Very solid and focused piece for such a proggy band - 4.2. |
Darkspace Dark Space III I |
Darkthrone The Underground Resistance |
Love the variation of the tracks here. Definitely the best one from the last 3. Ultimately an extremely rockish fun album. Nice surprise. |
Darkthrone Eternal Hails |
Darksabath vibe, supercool release. I even love that little linking atmo section. Also album art
is godtier. |
Darkthrone Astral Fortress |

Deadwood Picturing a Sense of Loss |
without the BM features this would still be a great indie/rock album :D |
Deafheaven New Bermuda |
Deafheaven Infinite Granite |
Gazers feel offended more ppl are enjoying this because of proper sick drumms and actual songwriting. 2nd parts of songs and its transitions are super cool. Those 2nd parts are more post alt rock than actual shoe. Its kinda what makes this cooler than your average shugaze bedtalk band.rI could only point out that all tracks follow the same scheme, but that happens in so many bands we all love |
Death Scream Bloody Gore |
Such a strong debut. Unfortunately is just a bit too long. If it was somewhat trimmed I feel it could be stronger than Leprosy. |
Death Individual Thought Patterns |
Death Spiritual Healing |
There's nothing on here better than Leprosy 2 final tracks, but there's a step fw to a more prog technicality. T/track is really awesome. |

Desire (POR) Infinity... A Timeless Journey |
Although its a bit too Gothic for me (organ+lyric girl singing occasionally) is when the growls
and the riffs come that this can get really oldschool badass at times. Excellent Portuguese
release from 1995! Everything is really well done with great atmosphere and tons of instruments.
Sweet Doom for sure.
Recd tracks - A ride in a dream crow; Forever Dreaming... (Shadow Dance) |
Devoid of Thought Outer World Graves |
While they share the same view of Cosmic DM from bands like Blood Incantation, the variance shown makes each track a beast of its own! I found it amazingly awesome for that matter. From the weird sax(?please confirm?) coming from some deeper far cave on Perennial Dream, to the doomier Four Cereulean Ways, to the nervous Sidereal Necrosis they show their versatility and experimentation on Death Metal. All tracks are long and some go around the 10 minute mark and none overstays for me. Great listen.r |

Diskord Degenerations |
Multiple listens worthy. What a treat of riff fest with the most as gorgeous as crazy bass licks. What the fuck, so many strong points but maybe Abnegations and Beyond the Grime are my faves. |
Diskord Dystopics |
Its so awesome how gorgutslike experimental, tech death, with a kind of osdm texture goes and still can go doomy af to let us breed a little. Highly impressed with these guys. |
Dodheimsgard Satanic Art |
Crazy little EP! Their journey towards their true own identity started to be drawn here. Although the sound is still very lo-fi (3rd track f.e.), you can tell how they try to variate on instrumentation and features on each of their tracks, instead of the DT 0.5. Really nasty tasty BM. |
Dodheimsgard Black Medium Current |
Dodsrit Nocturnal Will |
Doomriders Grand Blood |
I m loving these guys...pretty heavy but the vocals with great sense of melody...everything else

Downfall of Gaia Aeon Unveils the Thrones of Decay |
Downfall of Gaia Silhouettes Of Disgust |
the little switch to the fem vocals on Eyes to Burning Skies are very welcome and imo from that song onwards they show how creatively free they can be, the album goes a little more postish, I really like those little twists a little away from their black punk gaze formula, which is already awesome. Not to mention the closer's ending - pure bliss for me.r |
Dragged Into Sunlight Terminal Aggressor II |
This song really drags (at first...its suposed to...) something really evil into the sunlight m/ If I'm not about "atmosphere for the atmosphere alone" in first part of the song, I'm all about how this shit ends m/. Not bad at all for the first 2020 release listen. 23:23 its where its at boyyyyz! |
Dragged Into Sunlight WidowMaker |
Not that I'm to say this is underrated...I get the complaints, but I happen to really dig this one. "I" is a very acoustic sludge piece Thou(like) at times. "II" pulls you back on the so known riff fest and progressions from bands like Cobalt f.e. III offers a doom vibe, banging and punishing towards the end. It really sets how versatile the band can reach in its own ID. |
Dread Sovereign Alchemical Warfare |
It's doomy but very hard rock one, with very interesting prog developments through tracks. |
Dream Unending Song of Salvation |
An authentic and epic dreamy Death Doom bath. Production is amazing, fantastic lead work and collabs thay actually add variety to the output and novelty to the genre. Two huge and long tracks on book ends, two smaller ones in between and a sweet interlude dividing it. |

Bold but hard 4 cause I dig the band a lot. As said they always change their sound in each release. This time they leave you with somewhat of a disconcerting punk rock vibe, much of this caused by the "bad" vocals much more at front, where tuning is not a strength. |

Fractal Generator Macrocosmos |
OK folks. I just have to stop this 3.5ing nonsense. This album riffs a pack of awesome techdeath (which is not my "go to" genre per se)! Further listens made me enjoy it even more, specially the back half which contain tracks like Chaosphere, Shadows of infinity and fuckin Primordial m/m/m/. Bookends are also legit bangers. There's tiny little synth sounds and nuances one should not disregard. Also need to mention the amazing cover art, setting a single dude approaching some other planet landscape, which sets the tone for this journey perfectly imo. |

Full of Hell Garden of Burning Apparitions |
These 2 last are quite similar to each other imo, but this one maybe more punk while the previous has more dm cuts. Reeking Tunnels hxc's it down, but its prob the main highlight here, throwing you back on their debut. |
Full of Hell Auditory Trauma: Full of Hell Isolation Sessions |
Tight af yeah |
Full of Hell and Nothing When No Birds Sang |
Fuming Mouth The Grand Descent |
The album is a bit the same HM-2 tune all along, but damn the music sounds pissed m/...Unlike some opinions, with further listens, I got the album takes a slight turn on the second part, giving enough variation to hold it up. The latent HXC (even in the few melodic parts) is great. |
Gaahls Wyrd GastiR - Ghosts Invited |
Gaerea Unsettling Whispers |
Gaerea crawl and claw their way through doom, death metal, sludge, and all manner of malevolent
metal-ings. Who would've thought my 1000 rate would be Portuguese BlackDeathDoom but this was
awesome for a debut, great production and the drums do stand out. Fave Track: Absent. |
Gaerea Mirage |
Gang of Youths Go Farther in Lightness |
Gatecreeper Deserted |
OK Gatecreeper...here's my 4...just make it better on the next one! |
Gatecreeper Sonoran Depravation |
This is way more DM Doom. Not so much the punk vibe shown on the sophomore but damn if it rips m/ |
Gatecreeper An Unexpected Reality |
Gatecreeper going doom on last track was really something, keeping that vicious HM-2 mix of theirs. Straight out for lovers of Pallbearer or Bell Witch. Certainly doom knowledge acquired from their previous shared act Spirit Adrift. |
Gaza No Absolutes in Human Suffering |
great balance between hardcore, grind and sludge. Extreme heaviness and aggressiveness with some
pretty nice breathing moments. The vocalist is incredibly powerful. The only step-back is that
they seem to rely t o much on that sort of transitions. Hopefully I'll stick around to see this
growing on me - sure will revisit and reevaluate after listening the full discog - Fave tracks:
Not with all Hope in the world, The Crown, When They Beg and Winter in Blood. |
Genesis Selling England by the Pound |
One of those albums that conquer you as you go through it. Brilliant - yap Firth of Fifth bangs, The Cinema Show is a 70's prog master piece. |
Genesis The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway |
this release really picks up the right mood for me somewhere around Carpet Crawlers. Epic and concept stuff all the way. |
Genocide Pact Order Of Torment |
This record convinced me song after song instead of getting me bored (as I expected). Creative rslow tempo death metal, with awesome use of palm mute. As you go into this record you see a lot of rcreativity here, as you'll notice in Pain Reprisal and Ascendancy Absolved. Structural Dissolution ris brutal and grindy. All the vocals are grindcore death metal based. Great job! |
Get The Shot Infinite Punishment |
this one is better than the previous one imo...should be better ranked...pretty rad crossover of trash and hardcore...cool high pitch vocals, complemented with kind of Metallica's melodic vocals, and sometimes supported with some grindy cool low pitch growls |
Ghost (SWE) Prequelle |
Ghost (SWE) Infestissumam |

Gorod Aethra |
Is amazing, and much like A Perfect Absolution, how the proggy&tech stuff on these dudes serves
and is really encrusted on the songwriting. Plus I got a weak spot for the esoteric feeling that
flows throughout some of the tracks. The vocals are great and varied and the midpitch vocals gives
a rare emotion to this genre which I really dig too. Faves: Bekthen's Curse; And The Moon turned
Black and A Light Unseen.
The minor stepback is that sometimes it gets a bit too spastic and the sound is often interrupted
in some of the tracks. |
Gospel The Loser |
Green Day Dookie |
Green Druid At the Maw of Ruin |
Sort of Electric Wizzard and Sleep meets Cobalt and Thou. Huge sound bros. |
Greg Puciato Child Soldier: Creator of God |
Super cool and modern "90's prime revival" (let it pass). But we all know this is precisely what rMr. Pussyato is about: full on 90's early 00s', in which Patton and the NIN's are a constant (with little Sade/George Michael hints), and an amazing ability to be abrasive, experimental and poppy at the same time. Surprised with his solo quality...although I miss the instrumental's tDEP mathy chaos. |
Greyhaven This Bright and Beautiful World |
Guano Apes Proud Like A God |
Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction |
Hail the Sun Wake |
Yeah album is pretty sweet...everyone is super talented |
Hallas Conundrum |
I started very skeptic at this album, yet the last 4 tracks won me over. They make some of the coolest prog as the album goes. Great retro/vintage take. |
Hallas Excerpts From a Future Past |
Tough album for me to get in, but with right mindset and inputs (doc on yt) I get these guys a pre
much the real deal here...great journey of an album! Very retro, but where I listened to early
Genesis/ Jethro I now see me passing through The Doors, Dire Straits, some folk, some of the
HardRock epicness I normally despise and in here I love, and yeah some modern music as well.
Vocalist has a lot of character and requires habit, he's a young dude with a voice of an older
man. Star Rider is an amazing track. |
Hallas Isle of Wisdom |
This is their least catchy. Also their proggiest. Not necessarily bad. It gets less hard hitting but more adventurous. Probably the most retro band in activity. |

I don't think this is bland at all. Sure I get your production issues, less sludgier less
"Sleepier" vibe, but this has bad ass riffs as hell. I kinda enjoyed this more than Luminiferous
f.e. If this is officially their worst work is just fine by me X) whata band m/ Fave Tracks:

Horrendous Anareta |
This is without a doubt a very talented band. This one may even have a bit more craftsmanship and
speed than the new release, but not as successful in transitioning brutality and ugliness into
beauty tho. The Nihilist, Acolytes, The Sum of all failures and the closer are my faves on this
one. Both flow really nice but this is just a bit more tiring imo Idol felt to me as a bit less
thrashy and a bit more modern and unique. |
Horrendous Ecdysis |
This album starts simply beautiful and awesome. The leading pinkfloydish melting solos are just so rcool! I'm getting more of the general vibe I got on Idol which I'm fuckin lovin, only with a more rsludgy or doomy tone and distortion on the guitar riffs. |
Hulder Godslastering: Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry |
As if this demo wasn t being solid enough, this brave gal pulls off this title track (Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry), starting with her melodic vocals, so gorgeously! The following final track (From Whence an Ancient Evil Once Reigned) is also really good. The way she uses the synths gives it a singular vibe imo. Surprisingly really good record. |
Hum Inlet |
This album has a great atmosphere and immaculate production...postgrunge comeback/ reinterpreted thing. Very well done. My fave tracks are in pairs Step into You+The Summoning and Folding+Shapeshifter. |
Hyperdontia Hideous Entity |
I Am Low Illusions |
IDLES Joy as an Act of Resistance |
Post punk band (though they don t see as such). Approach the new wave issues such as feminism, male vulnerability, lgbt etc. in a really funny way. Fave tracks: love song, june, samaritans and television.r |
Iggy Pop Post Pop Depression |
Igorrr Savage Sinusoid |
Now what the fuck was this? If there's any "breakcore" album I could 4 it would be this stuff lol |
Immolation Atonement |
Immortal Pure Holocaust |
Immortal Bird Thrive On Neglect |
Perfect blend of BDM, Grindcore e HXC. Excellent songwriting imo. A little less musically driven
than the previous one, which had a rock approach here and there. Girl's vocals are awesome btw. |
Immortal Bird Empress/Abscess |
Immortal Bird Akrasia |
Impaled Nazarene Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz |
Absolutely blasphemous ritualistic stuff...vocals and atmosphere are insane. There's something really straight fw in their thrashy BM, yet very compelling and with the awesome drumming in a constant change. The Beast is singing and chicken samples are something else hihihi. In the end, this is different from anything I've ever heard. Also find amusing as hell to see users giving it a 1 and 1.5 (I totally get it, mind). Here's my 4. |
Imperial Savagery Lashing the Feral Swine |
Imperial Triumphant Alphaville |
Brilliant effort, that ends up delivering a more futuristic feel to the World they create(brought much from the atmosphere and a more techDM approach, on a closer look) as opposed to the more actual NY scenery you catch on VL. Both in the same level of quality I'd say and this is still filled with panic, euphoric, jazzy and smokey yk...Alphaville is a big highlight here. |
Incubus (USA-CA) Make Yourself |
Incubus (USA-CA) Fungus Amongus |
Indian Guiltless |
Infected Mushroom Converting Vegetarians |
Infernal Coil Within a World Forgotten |
Excellent mix of deathgrind (deathspell omeguish) with an esoteric metal vibe...this goes really hard with some awesome breathing moments as well.rRecd Tracks - 49 Suns; Bodies Set in Ashen Death |
Integrity Howling, For the Nightmare Shall Consume |
This album is an awesome crossover. Hardcore, Trash and some nice dark aspects, sludgy and doomy
to.
Good production. The vocals and the songwriting are excellent. Clearly deserves to be reviewed,
and clearly deserves a better rating! Experienced musicians doing something special here! This is
top 20 2017 metal records candidate. |
Integrity Those Who Fear Tomorrow |
Inter Arma Sky Burial |
Damn man! The PinkFloyd track here (Long Road Home) getting into full BM is fuckin awesome...its a kind of signature...though they are always very creative, they kept their formula albumwise - DoomSludge - BM - PinkFloyd - and then rougher again m/ How they have those Neurosis like vocals, but then those filthy screeches come in...reminding BM and more filthysludge bands (Thou; Lord Mantis f.e.). I love these guys and how they mix all these and keep the narrative damn consistent...who would've thought!?....I wonder if this reached Roger Waters somehow lolol |
Inter Arma Sundown |
Definitely different from their later settled ID. Less doomy, less of that pink floyd psych here (except for that last track's ending). More BM and even some southern metal riffing vibe, to an almost hardcore at times. |
Interpol Turn on the Bright Lights |
Interpol Our Love to Admire |
Interpol Interpol |
Isgherurd Morth Hellrduk |
Very good and surprising debut. Every post element on this is only provided by guitar soundscapes. Overall sound and vocals are evil af, but keeping a certain gazey vibe, that feels very welcome. Also the bass has also really standout points and listenable all along in the mix. It's overall not too complex but it delivers the goods. Fave track is prob Lucir Stormalah, with opposing frantic blast beats vs peaceful guitars and an also soothing supercool bass.r |
ISIS In the Absence of Truth |
Ithaca The Language of Injury |
Hell yeah! These friends have an exquisite manner to achieve melody plus "This fuckin slaps". As I pay attention to some backvocals and they're gorgeous. A weird Rolo Tomassi beatdown m/ girl on vocals.rrecd Tracks - The Language of Injury; Slow Negative Order; Youth Vs Wisdom. |
Jade The Pacification Of Death |
Blackened Doom. Riffs are BM af. DeathDoom growls emerge, right next to a very unique vocal shouting. Its never as complex as you'd expect prog dm would be, and by keeping it simple and entrancing makes it a very peculiar listen. Fave track is Silk Ransoms and Saddest Night. |
James Blake James Blake |
Amazing and emotional vocal exercise, combined with exceptional use of auto-tune for artistic rpurposes. The use of silences is really good. Great at experimenting with glitchy electronic textures. I loved the track Limit to Your Love on radio so much that felt compelled to check this one out and it exceeded my expectations. Dude was on drugs for sure, maybe a bit too glitchy towards the end. |
Jean-Michel Jarre Les Concerts en Chine |
Jeff Rosenstock NO DREAM |
This is the only Rosenstock that spoke to me to this date...great vibe, inventive songwriting, pace changing like hell...speedy tracks/ sections...really feels like an old 90's punk band but fresh at the same time. I love many tracks on here... |

Dedex doing the deeds! I'm an absolute mad about first 3/4 tracks with afro vibe. Keeping in mind its colab with such different artists, the album picks it up again towards the end with Papua Merdeka. Awesome listen. Fave track is International Love Affair. |
KEN mode Loved |
Sick would be the term for this. Sick cover, sick atmosphere, sick guitars, sick drums...and even sicker sax. The mood is stiff though and relies on repetition and in intensity crescendos. Really original and experimental stuff. Fave Tracks - This is a Love Test; No gentle art |
Kendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city |
Khemmis Deceiver |
This one rules them all Khemmis ones. They added these really doomy endings and interludes, with low growls after melodic singing. Opener even features bm vocals and instrumentation, transitioning and flowing pretty seamlessly. Give it a shot. Its one dynamic af release, unlike the others, as good as they might be. |
Khemmis Desolation |
Khemmis Absolution |
WATA FUCK dudes. this was awesome! perfect balance for me. never boring!rI WILL CARRY YOUR NAME! |
Khemmis Where the Cold Wind Blows |
Covering song In the Pines, converting it into
a doom song is quite a challenge. Yet its on
the track Sigil they really shine. The
ballance between harsh and melodic is better
than ever. Plus it riffs. |
Killer Be Killed Reluctant Hero |
This one is stronger than the debut imo. Honestly wherever Puciato goes needs to stay at front as
in here. Still great props to Sanders here which never sounds bloated and pretty badass...there s
more than an handful of bangers here |
Killswitch Engage Alive or Just Breathing |
King Crimson Discipline |
King Crimson Islands |
Even though a bit on improvisation mode at times (KC signature), its often brilliant and disturbing/ dark in the best way possible (something I adore on Red f.e.). I love how Sabbath meets Beatles on Ladies on the Road. My 2nd fave KC from the first 4. Underrated album! |
King Crimson Larks' Tongues in Aspic |
Opener is a 6/5 track. Really cool vibe on this one. I feel the closer a really cool track a la Red. |

King Woman Created in the Image of Suffering |
Female fronted, shoegazy doom release (yes) not relying on classic doom aspects (long songs, flow, repetition) but in soul grungy songwriting. Really good and original and somewhat dark.rRecd tracks - Worn; Hierophant |
King Woman Celestial Blues |
Massive album. If you dig ERR with Thou collab this doesn't fall much behind. Same vibe here and there, but with some poppish "a la Billie Eillish" song structures, specially on vocals, all "nicely" balanced with dirty depressed and pissed off sludge. Btw, I haven't said I like Billie Eillish. Boghz slays af. |
Knocked Loose Laugh Tracks |
Knocked Loose A Different Shade of Blue |
This shit looks all the same yes, relies too much on breakdowns yes, kinda like these stupid vocals yes (low growls are amazing btw)...its awesome lol such as the previous one. They keep the HXC-Thrash crossover and add a more DM approach. Props for Keith Buckley's appearance. Recd tracks - By The Grave; Mistakes Like Fractures; Forget Your Name (Feat Keith Buckley); ...And Still I Wander South |
Knoll Metempiric |
These dudes are fuking it all. Killer sophomore! They surelly grasp Trumpeting Ecstasy vibe and vocals. Grind, sludge, industrial and doom. Tracks barely over 3 min, with the exception of the closer, (8min) with a fantastic and clearing vocalrperformance. |

Krallice Go Be Forgotten |
Krallice Krallice |
Krallice Diotima |
Krallice Prelapsarian |
Krallice Crystalline Exhaustion |
Their best is DW with a rollercoaster of events. This is a solid and steady experience, and its blessing is also its curse - the amazing outworldly closer, that kinda burns everything around to ashes in hope. We have to be resilient tho, and focus on those dirty descendant riffs all around the other tracks. |
Krallice Porous Resonance Abyss |
Kvelertak Meir |
Kvelertak Splid |
This album is pretty solid and step fw from the previous, badly produced one (fixed by Kurt Balou here). They consolidate their more approachable sound. Necrosoft is standout, such as the Ghostlike, very hard rock riffing, track Fanden ta dette hull! (check that awesome punk HXC riff and solo varying with hard rock riffs). My highlight of this album though are the more serious mood 3 final tracks, specially Delirium tremens and Ved bredden av Nihil, that shows another side of the band yet to explore. |
Kyuss Welcome to Sky Valley |
Lamb of God Ashes of the Wake |
Lamb of God VII: Sturm und Drang |

Lantlos .neon |
This band beats many blackgaze acts. Really awesome balance between harsh and melo (bm and jazzy post), and very good songwriting (against Deafheaven's endless crescendos - ps: New Bermuda's digger here). Fave tracks are Pulse/Surreal (incredibly emotional song), These Nights Were Ours and the T/track. I see 4.5 potential on this one. |

have, Asleep in the Deep, stripped from the vocals is plain awesome stuff...Jaguar God with or

Mountain (my fave Mastodon on long term). New tracks rule. Basically this rocks. |
Mefitis Emberdawn |

Misthyrming Algleymi |
Perfect vibe, even to someone who's not much into folk BM such as me, and perfect runtime rpreventing from boredom. The vocals on front don't bother me much either (on the contraire they rrule)...not as much as these unknown characters used on each track and band's name. |

Motorpsycho Kingdom of Oblivion |
Motorpsycho Ancient Astronauts |
Moullinex Elsewhere |
Portuguese, psychedelic project very Tame Impalish vibe. Perhaps a bit more idm. This debut was quite a thing in the portuguese rooftop idm music scene. |
Mr. Bungle The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny |
Who says you can't insert La Cucaracha in a thrash metal album??? Are you guys listening to this?
ALbum slaps! I think my fave tracks Bungle Grind, Loss For Words and Sudden Death...oh boooy m/m/
Unfortunately this album will be sput out from tons of non metal/ thrash fans. The dude is fucking

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds From Her To Eternity |
Nile Vile Nilotic Rites |
New vocals are very different from the uniqueness cof cof cof ones from classic Nile, but they end up having cool variations along the tracks. I think they are pretty interpretative, just different ...very powerful low growls, almost Akerfeldtlike and somewhat theatrical as, lets say, Sulphur Aeon or even Meshuggah at times (?)...very dynamic...anyway, just my view unprovided from any nostalgia. Album kicks asses. |
Nile In Their Darkened Shrines |
Kheftiu Asar Butchiu followed by Unas Slayer of God's fucking rippps m/m/m/. Would 4.5 this beast if there wasn't 3 absolute fillers (I may bump it though) |
Nine Inch Nails The Fragile |
Green card for experimentation as usual and this time also in lenght making this 2CD's release a little bloated imo. Helps aknowledging how incredibily influencial this band were in the 90's - 2000's for Industrial; Grunge; Synth; Eletronic, Post. Recd Track - Somewhat Damaged; The Fragile; Into the Void. |

FolkBM when its done this remarkably, detailed and beautiful is a real treat for the ears. I honestly feel like I want to jump happily as a goblin! A double album with over 1h40m that I never feel it gets any old. It atmo, it folks but it also riffs as a mofo. Incredible variety within the genre, a very uplifting vibe and big step up defining this project new sound. I can see it grow to a 4.5 soon. |
Oathbreaker Maelstrom |
Oathbreaker Eros|Anteros |
Obliteration Cenotaph Obscure |
drumms constantly changing the pace and consequently the genre itself!BM, death, thrash,
punkharcore and doom. The other instruments though, are pretty stiff in tone and mood but
perfectly executed in plain BDM/OSDM but with an own identity. The minor setback is lack of
variability makes you be fully focused on little changes. Fave tracks: T/t and Detestation Rite. |
Obliteration Black Death Horizon |
The bass on this or something is whipping me the sound of a Jew's Harp instrument lots of times....a "boingboing" just like it lmao...but if you don't focus on it its a really enthralling OSDM doom experience. Really solid Band. On second listen I didn't focused on that that much and its in fact really hell of an album. |
Oceansize Effloresce |
Of Feather and Bone Bestial Hymns of Perversion |
cool twist of events for the band...evil as ever riffs...the hooks are more effective...theratmosphere is completely different from the debut, as to the welcome departure of the abuse ofrbreaking beatdowns. |
Of Feather and Bone Sulfuric Disintegration |
This album hates us all...its very unwelcoming but weirdly rewarding after a couple of listens. Really abrasive and noisy sounding, yet they manage to go as fast as hell and still fit in a prime slower deathdoom track (Noctemnania ), offering a really nice balance to a very disturbing exp overall...closer fuckin slays with riffs. Perfect length for the genre. |

Sounding off after bumping this to a 4. Indeed this shit is aiming for bigger stages. I don't care for Riverbed and Stasis, but honestly I've always liked the opener since it was out. Silver Wings is a gorgeous song and right after you get these 2 in 1 songs (The Quicksand of Existing+Vengeance&Ruination) which were huge growers. Caledonia is as weird as original as it rgets. |

Pig Destroyer Head Cage |
this is a great PD release (now with bass) full of groove and some longer tracks. Don't trust the
AVG cause its full of ppl suffering from melancholia that already knew their rating before listen
to the album. Enjoy the groove for yourself, always considering this ain't no classic and they are
different from what they used to. Better than BookBurner imo
Fave tracks: Army of Cops; The Torture Fields; Terminal Itch; Last song; House of Snakes |

...so PD gonne drone...I can take this...I can take this...this fusion of post apocalyptic doom with the hardcore attitude is pushing me vibes from Pulling Teeth, which I very much like. |

Portrayal of Guilt Let Pain Be Your Guide |
The 4 I'm giving to this 3.5 album is because I don't want to forget this band and its amazing potential. The 3 singles (Among Friends, A Burden and Your War) and the closer Until we're dust are indeed groundbreaking as they circle between Noise, Punk, BM and Hardcore (and other you may find) genres in tracks sometimes below 2 minutes. The rest is pretty much the band experimenting their sound in a conceptual "go nowhere" manner, so you can be a little disappointed at the end. |
Portrayal of Guilt Audiotree Live |
Portrayal of Guilt We Are Always Alone |
Their melodic sections certainly give this cool post hardcore feel to it, but when they scream is more towards the nihilistic sludgecore area. They really nailed it here with where I wanted for them to go to. Like a more "accessible" (lol) Full of Hell. This shit is awesome for the 26 insane minutes. |

OMFG if that ain't a way to end a metal album I don't know what is m/m/m/. Honestly think this is a big step up from their previous, which I dig a lot but still feel it is "one sided mood" and relies to much on atmo. Recd tracks - The Crowning; Au Bord du Gouffre.r |
Relations (GER) From Birth to Death |
Hardcore with a very metallic approach. Punchy, groovy, with some dm, thrash and even doomesque
vibes, weather in slow riff or actually synth, (yap, Check Hangman f.e.),specially in the end of
the songs giving them great hooks and climax. Very balanced with the perfect length and variation
for the genre. |
Reverie (DK) Bliss |
Excellent OSDM with some pleasing BM and punk influences and progressions. Check the tracks Fall
Apart, First Reverie and Circles. Oh and the bass on Blind at Heart... |
Revocation Deathless |
The complaint I have on this is the immense amount of riffs making me not reminding a single one m/m/m/! Loving the the production here as well...its been a time since I've listened to a metal album where I didn't have to put vol practically up to max...this manages to be pretty loud and sweet way below. |
REZN Chaotic Divine |
Super pleasant journey through psy stoner, heavy doom, reggae dub and middle eastern vibes.
Chill&Heavy. |
REZN Solace |
Awesome album! I'm a sucker for the band since Chaotic Divine, which has a little more dub vibe. They are really good. So cool how they keep it so chill and so heavy at the same time. |
Rhapsody of Fire Power of the Dragonflame |
Rhododendron Protozoan Battle Hymns |
too damn cool. They re surely applying for a vocalist! Lol I love how they go sludgy to shiny seamlessly. Honnestly Zapruder came to mind. |
Richard Cheese I'd Like A Virgin |
Rifftera Pitch Black |
Great riffing. This one is a bit more badass than the sophomore.Really cool details on electronic

I spinned this bad boy 3 times already and it punches deeper with each listen. Simple yet thickest cavernous deathdoom a la spectral voicer |
Rothadas Rothadás |
Super cool doomy stuff to super mean DM stuff . Very much in the vein of acts like BLood
Incantation, but more Doom induced, like Spectral Voice. It rules super hard. I hope they make it
up to this demo in a proper release! |
Rotor (GER) 7 |
Yap. Its a jam! I normaly don t do instrumental albums but I loved this, specially how thick and dynamic (and heavy) their sound is. Also for an instrumental piece is full of character. |

Sangre de Muerdago O Vento que Lambe as miñas Feridas |
Satan Cruel Magic |
I honestly wasn't expecting having this much fun m/ Their kind of "one chord riffing" is
relentless and pretty unique imo (I dont know much of HM) and when they go prog they have a
certain psychedelic flare I really dig. Would like to give 3.7 but goes with 4 for cause 3.5 seems
too low for so much fun. fave tracks here are Cruel Magic, Death Knell for a King and Mortality. |
Scarcity Aveilut |

Sepultura Quadra |
This grew a lot on me on 2nd spin. It delivers awesome riffs and variation. 3rd part is my fave
from this quadra for now, although it starts pretty thrash strong with Isolation. I dig the
concept too. Guardians of Earth acoustic (and all song tbh) is so m/! Pentagram is one hell of an
instrumental track. Also Raging Void's drums have some arrhythmic flow making it damn interesting
and Voivod(esque) at times. Rating 3.8. |

Okay. Come on this is really awesome. Songs

it right away. |
Serpent Column Kathodos |
Seu Jorge The Life Aquatic Featuring Seu Jorge |
Shame (UK) Drunk Tank Pink |
Well, I have to say this pretty much suited me. Specially after the first 2 tracks, which are still kinda indifferent to me. The darker tone they show on the next tracks is really spot on. Vocals are pretty standard for these new postpunk bands a la IDLES. There's def a Protomartyr vibe too.. The drumming is really good actually. So, not really innovative, but it did it with me! |
Shores of Null Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying) |
A 40' minutes track to remember. From deep funeral doom to prog metal a la Opeth, makes this an intense, varied, but also very well written journey. |

Skeletonwitch Devouring Radiant Light |
Disguised as classic Blackened Thrash, this goes beyond that. Always giving this melodic and epic/ folk sentiment to the songs, but at the same time showing us somewhat of a punk/ hardcore attitude to the riffs. Oldschool and modern meet again. |

Slipknot Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses |

Such an interesting release for the genre. Vocals are awesome and clean echoed. To the sludge

The cool thing about this, and what makes this unique tbf, are the absense of the usual chugs, the way they use dissonance to reach some really catchy and melodic hooks, and offcourse the atmospheric approach, I mean, the heaviest thing here are prob the vocals. Instrumentally it differs from the usual bdm we are used too, and disso bdm in particular. Its quite a jam. It's more catchy than the previous, I think they cemented and assumed their sound here. I love the rock writing nature/ approach of it. |
Sufjan Stevens Michigan |
Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine A Beginner's Mind |
Had a great fuckin time. This is the Sufjan we all miss. |
Sugar Horse The Live Long After |
"A decidedly average band." as selfdescribed on their own bandcamp page sets the bar right away, so you go for it with no expectations. Kinda simple in riffs, but it's nailed on atmosphere and dynamics, going between what they call "shoegaze", that on here for me stands for post punk or hardcore with (scr)emo reminiscences, with them gorgeous soundscapes, to the thickest of doomsludge riffs, with them badass and heavy af sound. Screamed vocals speak Keith Buckley (ETID) to me too much to ignore it, in a very good way. Exquisite? Yes. Awkward? Yes. A Banger? Indeed. Go for it. |
Sulphur Aeon Gateway to the Antisphere |
ok this one is awesome too. rIf this one had the latest production and highlights/ slogans (like "ONEIRONAAAAAUT!" or "SINISTER SEEEEA SABBAAAAATH" f.e.) would be has good as The Scythe of Cosmic Chaos. rThe more often variation on vocals on the last one should be mentioned as well, and ends up giving more dynamic and interpretation value. |

Tame Impala The Slow Rush |
It might be Time and One more Our are my faves. Bad call for a Valentine's day album though. Very detailed and very DaftPunkish. I'm gonna set at 3.5 but still don't know if its growing like a mofo or dropping like another. Edit - growing like a mofo. |
Tame Impala Currents |

Telekinetic Yeti Primordial |
Super torn between a 3.5 and a 4 cause the fuzz is stoner, and as real as it gets. Vocals are troy sanders af but always in the back (in a cool way). Great stuff to get stoned. |
Temple Guard Spear of the Revenant |
Thickest hxc for fans of bands like Cult Leader,
or Knocked Loose, full of mean af hooks and still
inventive riffs, double vocals and some sprinkled
voice samples to keep it political. Amazing debut. |
Temple of Void Lords Of Death |
The band is an hidden gem yall should dig. Promising band in the Death Metal scene. Maybe this
album as a whole is not as strong as the debut, but they sure did a better effort on creating this
dissonant atmosphere very "Hooded Menace like". This album has 3 definite highlights - Wretched
Banquet, A Watery Internment's ending and the use of old school Doom Melodic Singing
(Candlemasslike) in such an heavy piece like Graven Desires is
truly epic. |
Temple of Void The World That Was |
Here I am, working at home, holding a (the 3rd) glass of red, and 4.5ing (as expected) a DeathDoom
album I was holding in anticipation. These guys simply know how to tight riff and get heavy
without the crazy speed, maintaining (as I expected) a sick ,slight dissonance in the melodic
leads very Hooded Menacelike that makes this my beach...also this guy's vocals are sow low yet
perceivable, which seems almost impossible. Recd Tracks - Self Schism; Casket of Shame. EDIT: I
was a tad drunk, but album is a solid 4. |
Tentacult Lacerating Pattern |

The Spirit Sounds from the Vortex |
now this one is much more edgy. great debut...plenty of hooks, which is uncommon in the genre.
Constantly shifting leads and pace really keeps you engaged track to track. |
The Strokes The New Abnormal |
I say this release is very intelligent.. Eternal Summer is very daft punkish. The album takes somewhat of a surprising and welcome turn, from Eternal Summer onwards, providing variety and showing songwriting abilities. Opener, Selfless, Bad Decisions, Eternal Summer, At the Door, Not the Same, Ode to the Mets are all tracks that stick. It's cool that some songs reminds us of some others famous ones. Band seems back in the game and I feel this as much has the debut.r |

awesome how seamless the genre fusion gets on Naiv. |

Tombs Path of Totality |
Tombs Under Sullen Skies |
Simple but effective riffs, great production, huge and heavy sound, incredible songwriting - makes you circle to a true dark depressing metal compendium (BM, DM, Post, Sludge, Hardcore, Doom, Funeral Doom even...) everything we love on metal can be found here and still holds as one whole very solid narrative - again, simple on the surface, the album offers a lot of complexity, and an overall dark vibe you can just get lost in (in a good way). It could def get a little trim on some songs, but it feels very convincing overall, its a very good one for several listens.r |
Tool Opiate |
Sweat just rocks m/. Vocals on Hush just awesome. Guitar riff on Part of Me just amazing. Live tracks just flawless. This more straight forward approach metal turned out to be an excellent addition to Tool's catalogue. Kick ass of an EP! |
Tosca Going Going Going |
Going Going Going goes, and delves deeper as it goes, through dub, downtempo, clubb, rooftop andrpsychedelic, while remaining always minimal, great sound to chill from the well known duet Kruderr& Dorfmeister. |

Tribulation Where the Gloom Becomes Sound |
The last one with Hulten on the writings. You could call it a little safe in continuation from Down Below. The back half of the album shows a little more energy and progression. Love Tribulation - Daughter of the Djinn and Funeral Pyre are prob my 2 faves. |

Turris Eburnea Turris Eburnea |
I know this is an EP but its only flaw is being too short. Well done, and albeit intricate and complex it manages to be very dynamic. Cotard Delusion creeps da fuck out with the violin line in the middle. The "tender yet disturbing" psyjazzy solo on Syncretism Incarnate is also proof of the dynamics, both on instruments and writing. Props for the sick bassline. For fans of Gorguts, Artificial Brain and the new pretty boys Ad Nauseam. |

Although the sound does not feel as crushing/ big on a first glance, as some other acts of the

screech to the lowest growl possible). All tracks end up being beasts of their own, special

Solos, when they come in, they are facemelting...too much!? ryou may think that...but there's always something that keeps drawing you in...dare I call varied r(?). Weeping Sores False Confession |
..awesome album!!!!!!! cutting violins on Transfiguration is something I never "saw" in music: "False Confessions is an uncommonly good heavy record. Few bands have been able to take death metal and doom to such deliriously weird places while still retaining that beautiful and affecting meditative experience. Weeping Sores, however, do it expertly." |

Windhand Grief's Infernal Flower |

Wounds (USA-IL) Light Eater |
Straight 4 to this inventive and awesome deathgrind&techdeath EP. Great variation of vocals for the genre. The bass is always there. Crazy drumming and tech riffing af. The way songs are structured and the groove avoids this to be over spastic. Recd Track - Metamorphosis (just enjoy while it transforms) |
YOB The Unreal Never Lived |
Younger Brother Vaccine |
Yves Tumor Safe in the Hands of Love |
Experimental stuff going hip/tripop, noise and latent punk feel. Personal stuff, weird charachter such as the music. There's 3 magical tracks on this - Noid; Licking An Orchid; Life Time. |

This looks like war actually, in a very literal manner...no allegories, straight fw war. It sounds more modern than the 1st WW though. The track Passchenhell with the violin is pretty sweet... |

Aborted embracing (melo)death this time and mixing with their brutal drumming style. Just an album to show they are capable of pretty much anything they want...if they want. |
AC/DC Ballbreaker |
Acid Witch Witchtanic Hellucinations |
Adele 30 |
Adrenalized Tales From The Last Generation |
Though I hold it tenderly, I'm not a big fan of this type of songwriting anymore, but its well done...3...the riffs and how good they all are made the rest of my rating. Kvelertak's, early Comeback kid came to mind. Really cool crossover, fast&rip |
Adventures Supersonic Home |
Aeternam Al Qassam |
Very good prod. Great balance between melody and brutality. Esoteric arabic/ middle eastern vibe ever present. Its very consistent, but a tad hard to pin the highlights on a first listen. Really dig how this dudes prog here though...songs have unexpected turns, yet very cinematic. |
Afterbirth Foeticidal Embryo Harvestation |
...I like so much more the demo versions than the EP versions lol drummer is insane!!! Recd
Track - Rebirth. Note: their live show must have been something back in the days...very pleased

This is actually pretty good and i find funny this low rate on this site. For everyone who likes
NYHC! You have awesome tracks with Habreed's vocal colab on the track Peace, and Madball's on So

this is solid. Just love those slow sludgy riffs like on So Far Under f.e. |
All Pigs Must Die Hostage Animal |
This shit rocks. Some killer songs. I like the slower ones to, it gets everything sludgier. Cruelty incarnate crescendo song is a pretty good example. Some cool variations and thrash reminescenses. Agree with stiff mid-range vocals critique though.r |
All Them Witches ATW |
All Them Witches Sleeping Through the War |
Def a more radio rock approach on this one. Loosing a bit on their atmospheric side. If you don t mind that, the album is a 3.5. |
All Them Witches Our Mother Electricity |
Allegaeon Apoptosis |
Potential 3 album with too many tech highlights to be ignored. Found the melodic parts vs harsh parts a bit inconsistent. m/ Recd Tracks - Interphase // Meiosis; Metaphobia. |
Altar of Plagues White Tomb |
Though a bit un-tight at times, the album is on full atmosphere work, which is great for that matter btw |
Alter Bridge Fortress |
Alterbeast Feast |
Amenra Mass II: Sermons |
Amia Venera Landscape The Long Procession |
Drumming and atmo are superb here...not digging the melodic vocals, not even a bit...not the vocals per se, but in terms of the songwriting...feels somewhat dated emo idk...not feeling it. The rest is very Cult of Luna/ The Ocean post. cool stuff. Recd Tracks - Marasm; Nichlas |
Anaal Nathrakh Desideratum |
This is good Anaal Nathrakh but playing quite "safe" witch makes the all thing not much varied.
Desideratum, Sub Specie and Rage and Red great tracks. 2nd part of the album appealed to me much
more. |
Anaal Nathrakh A New Kind of Horror |
They're back to the groove. Free porn music, as alternative, heavy, chaotic and aggressive as pop, groovy and catchy. Much better release than the previous one. This band is not be taken much serious in order to have fun with it. Favorite tracks: Forward! and Mother of Satan (Satan!Satan!Satan!Satan!Satan!Satan!Satan!). |
Anathema The Optimist |
Anciients Voice of the Void |
Pure modern, very technical, progressive metal. Everything is clean and shiny with great amount of
heaviness. The versatility on the vocals (whether with "no cheese" melodic, or different high and
low pitch growls) is amazing. Stylistically they also go all-round death, melodeath, prog, bm you
name it...The only setback on this the is the casual excess of "wanking" without exactly being
"outside of the box" (genre issue), but they sure grab you whenever you start thinking that. Fave:
Pentacle (brutal "toolesque" track) |
Anna von Hausswolff Dead Magic |
Anna von Hausswolff All Thoughts Fly |
Anti The Insignificance of Life |
A very interesting approach, simple sad tremolo riffs setting the mood...somewhat of the same
electronic beat along the album gives it a very unique flow. I pretty much like everything but
hoped for a little more variation, as the cool intros of the songs would induce so, all tracks
ending in fade out can become very un-engaging at a certain point. That said the slow track Zero
Point f.e. is very blissful (too bad even with the fade out, seems cut) followed by the relentless

tracks. Rec Tracks - Don't mistake me for a friend; Utica Crib. |
Bong-Ra Bikini Bandits, Kill! Kill! Kill! |
Heeey...party a bit will you? There s some nice depths here |

Very good and refreshing stuff! Recd tracks - War; Blind; Horde Vr |
Buried in a Womb Epigenetic Vulnerabilities... |
Buried in a womb - Members - Glasersfeld - Everything. Really fast and outrageous BM with a clear punk vibe to it. Production is a bit too lowfi for me(thought every instruments are completely audible), but as a one man band and independent is pretty impressive stuff and full of cool modern ideas between all the classic BM features. Fave track: The Rush of Childlike Independence and Fateful Lies; Love's Crippled Decay (on both love those lead guitars "bridges"and solos in the middle and end of the tracks) |

Cognizance Malignant Dominion |
Cognizance is musically very good, only flaw I found is they sound a bit generic melotechdeath. Maybe I find more character on further listens...there's a ton a sweet sections there though (even the folk ones)...easy 3.5 for a start. |

Comeback Kid Broadcasting |
Comeback Kid Outsider |

Comus First Utterance |
Conjunto Corona Santa Rita Lifestyle |
Great Portuguese hiphop satire, hailing from Porto...very good beats fs (best in the market I'd
say). Lyrics are honestly and uncomplicated bad, just for fun. Best jam to pass through Corona's
panic season. |
Converge Unloved and Weeded Out |
Convictors Atrocious Perdition |
Straight Forward DM band. Great riffing and some great tracks, specially when they vary the mood and speed. The mood is set when the creature from the cover there shouts to you on first track: YOU DISGUST MEEEE. As setback, though brutal, it lacks a bit on atmosphere and depth.rRecd Tracks - Withdrawn; Criteria |
Convocation Ashes Coalesce |

its very well done...goes to much on hiphop and auto-tuning for my tastes at times, but the indie

Damien Jurado Maraqopa |
Really great songs here and there. Special when he's more Nick Drake and Dylan than Jack Jhonson |
Dark Angel Darkness Descends |
Dark Fortress Tales from Eternal Dusk |
Straight fw bm, with folksy leads, too many riffs. All songs hit like de ja vu though. |
Darkthrone Arctic Thunder |
definitely not focused on speed anymore but rather on some doomy aspects. Also nice hard rock
riffs and punk drumming. Nothing is overwhelming in any aspect (technique or brutality) but still
a nice release. Recd Tracks - Tundra Leach; Boreal Fiends; Deep Lake Trespasses |
Darkthrone Panzerfaust |
Darkthrone Old Star |
Daughters You Won't Get What You Want |
I like the songs Satan on the Wait and one or other towards the end (Less Sex, Daughter, The Reason they hate me sequence is specially engaging) when they decide here rand there to be slightly musical. This is like a dark postpunk noise "band" now - they succeeded in that way. cool experimental stuff |
Daughters Hell Songs |
impressive drum work, more impressive guitar work and jazzy outputs makes this by far their most
interesting and cool release...In fact all instruments and features do stand out. Cool adding of
the new type of vocals, definitely leaving the convergeresque genre in the previous making it more
original and creating their own identity. This one gives me great Calculating Infinity vibes on
tracks like X-Ray f.e. |
Daughters Canada Songs |

Dead Prez Let's Get Free |
Dead To A Dying World Elegy |
Violin guided BM, mixed with sludgedoom and flirts even with blackgaze, turns out to be a very

ahaha wtf dudes? This album is pretry good, albeit too lo g m/. Perhaps not on levels of insanity/ experimentation/ avant-garde as the previous one but don't deserve all the hate. This one is a rocker and clearly more on BDM side than actually Industrial. |

I'm pretty new to the low-fi BM concept but this album is a pretty nice experience...its really cool. Is the ambiance (raining, then birds and trees) anything to do with the seasons? Though a rbit too classic or folksy for me it sure looks like a careful and tasteful work. The Witching Meadow's piano performance is sublime. TKS Sevengil. |

Sometimes the German singing and symphonic bits puts me a little off ngl, but damn there's some
delicious cuts. I like how they added bm vocals and drums to the acoustic outputs. TKS a lot park. |
Enslaved E |
Envy The Fallen Crimson |
TKS Sput for setting me up to Japanese screamo...I mean wtf...I get a lot of post vibes from bands such as Alcest. Pretty good and genuine stuff. First time with the band. I kinda envy ppl who are able to adore this (sorry for the pun). I'm crazy for the tracks Statement of Freedom and A Faint New World, they are so awesome, but then I end up getting super annoyed until Fingerprint Mark (another banger). I'm sorry I don't live up to this hype. Maybe that changes again... |
Eoront Gods Have No Home |
Really solid BM. Although it lacks a little of punch it focuses more on the atmosphere, where the
acoustic inputs (chords, violins/synths, choirs, horns etc) are often delightfully layered. The
Hermit and The Midday Herbs are my faves here I think. |
Ephel Duath The Painter's Palette |
Weird but cool blend of metal and jazz. Virtuous work on trumpet, bass and guitar. Its pretty un-engaging as free jazz is kinda supposed to. It has the common progressive songwriting flaws, but its fun to get all this mix at once X) overall great experience.rRecd tracks - Ruins; The Other's Touch |

Eximperitus... Sahrartu |
Great album without being impressive. The track Tahadu rules hard. |

Falls of Rauros Patterns in Mythology |
A very beautiful piece, although sometimes I forget I'm listening to it. Recd Track - Weapons of Refusal |
False Portent |
Super cold and fast paced BM. Drums and bass are amazingly fast. Vocals are BM classic, but pretty flawless. Guitars are tremolo grandiose. Recd Tracks - The Serpent Sting, The Smell of Goat (THIS TRACK IS BEAUTIFUL) |
FIEND (FR) Seeress |
Fires in the Distance Air Not Meant For Us |
Fish A Feast of Consequences |
So this is what the dude from Marillion has been up to. I miss his edginess vocally, which its not quite shown here. Still very well written, masterfully played and immaculately produced. |
Fleshkiller Awaken |
This is great if you like Extol. I've heard Fleshkiller before (without knowing they were ex extol) its a little more boring. Not as mind-challenging, still great sound...but a little bland comparing to Extol. Also some riffs here and there looks some Extol ripp off, but well if anyone is entitled to rip off Extol are them. Fave tracks: Inherit and Warfare |
Fluisteraars Bloem |
Flying Lotus You're Dead! |
I dig it more than the latest, but again it has this sketchy nature, attached to the experimentation, that doesn't help me to pass the fact of being music for musicians and samplers. Whenever you start to get in some tune, the song ends or changes abruptly, therefore I find hard to get the relevance of it, other than that. The vibes and texture work are often amazing. |
Foo Fighters One by One |
Foo Fighters There Is Nothing Left to Lose |
Fornicus Sulphuric Omnipotence |
Frontierer Oxidized |
Frozen Soul Crypt Of Ice |
This is what this is. Cool(Cold) breathed vocals, filthy mid-paced riffs. Could benefit for more solos, or leads, or tempo shifts, to add a bit more dynamics. The only thing really memorable is the cool and well achieved vibe. |
Fulci Opening the Hell Gates |
Fustilarian All This Promiscuous Decadence |
Gaerea Limbo |
Excellent production, great vibe, practically all songs drag a bit too long though. Debut varies way more in less runtime. Fave track here: Urge. |

okay, this demo goes super hard, and for a demo is very well produced. A lot of interesting cool riff progressions and vibes from bm to dm to doom. Vocals are on point. Its a pity they haven't released anything more (yet?), so they could work in finding a little more depth to their songs. Fave track for me here is Hell Blast. |
High Command Eclipse of the Dual Moons |
High on Fire Luminiferous |
High on Fire Bat Salad |
His Hero Is Gone The Plot Sickens: Enslavement Redefined |
Horrendous The Chills |

Hypno5e Des Deux l'une Est l'autre |
weeeeeird but there's something really cool here lol atmospheric nu-metalcore? Great Album....don't like the french accent when they go melodic in English...and the album is too damn long ...also is a pretty easy escape from the dudes to put a voice sample along the tracks to get that atmospheric/ apocalyptic vibe...but...they are very good, specially the guitars and its new enthralling metalcore. |
IDLES Crawler |
Illyria The Carpathian Summit |
PostBlack/ Blackgaze at its finest in the vein of Alcest. The dearest cover on metal scene. The album's beauty matches the cover. Everything is really well done and dynamic with great attention to details. Harsh, melodic, brilliant acoustic features and amazing basswork. |
Immolation Acts of God |

punk/ postpunk release from a Belgium band that looks really comfortable on that grey area between punk/ hardcore vibe and some post, doomy aspects. The last ones, much more noticeable on the second part of the album and that can divide you or make it more "interesting". The first part is full of bangers though! Fave Tracks: User Guide; 11; Say No; GOD |
Ithaca They Fear Us |
James Blake Assume Form |
always cool how this fella does hip-hop, going through DaftPunk's (auto)tunes to late Radiohead's experimentation. I like it. The big loss here is when the production and experimentation goes over the music and it gets a bit random. Recd Tracks - Assume Form; Tell Them; Where's the Catch. |

It's not that this and Lark are taking the magic of Red for me, but I can definitely see the same features perfected there (both closers f.e.) and glued to a more interestingly challenging songwriting and emotional delivery...I guess that's why I fived Red... |

I found this 3rd one more of the same, thus I'm keeping the 3.5 here...If this band was to keep it

Leeched You Took The Sun When You Left |
They use the beatdown in the meanest way possible. Good ambiance created with electronics (code orangeresque) also helping some unpredictability in the songwriting. Really enjoyable but not lasting - cons some songs are just too slow or mid paced...this kind of brutality sometimes asks for more speed. Its heavy, mean but a bit one sided in mood. I was kinda of scared this was a brand new hype, but it turned out a pretty interesting release. Indie/Alt rock done right. Some beautiful soundscapes and the overall narrative is really cohesive. Still not sure the screams are necessary. rFave Tracks - Flee, Thou Matadors!; New Wine, New Skins. |

Well being the first one to rate this, if your into the new sludge metal scene this is a pretty
cool release. so, as usual, vocals aren't great, but with a little prog rock tool feel and also
some stoner rock riffs.

They definitely have what I already can call Italian Dissonant Black Metal (from bands like Noise
Trail Immersion f.e.)...also find this to have a lot of "post math jazz rock" influence. I
understand complaints about the vocals, but I actually think they add a brilliant interpretation
characteristic. Very interesting release. The only set back is that it gets too loose and
atmospheric for me, loosing at the same time just a little bit of focus, that could turn this into
awesome levels (imo). Recd track - La Casa Del Diavolo |

This is good. Maynard would fit this perfectly, but you almost don't miss the vocals on it. A lot rof APC or tool vibes, but also Deftones for sure...but everything more tchnical. Its really rstrange and I'm surprised by an instrumental record.rEDIT: Fuck that 3.5, I must go to a 4! no wait I'm going back to 3.5 because I'm disappointed with their background and previous releases |

some friend told me this was hardcore industrial...well this is not that...his head only sees
techno, so that was implicit...either way..the ambient soundscape is fuckin awesome and you get

stop. Textures on this are amazingly explored tickling your brain constantly. |

Solid Swede thrash death debut, great production. I like the more accessible Vektor comparison, also catching sort of glam swede metal from bands like Tribulation, much provided by the similar vocals. Guitar leads tones are pretty damn straight beautiful.r |
Parius The Eldritch Realm |
The bass is boss here and its brilliant! Great melodeath fitting the Halloween season. Everything comes in as a bit of a joke but its kinda intended that way. There's not much depth and 30 minutes flew by but the production, technicality and execution are brilliant though. |

Very confused about how weird this sounds. They fucked up good. For me it could be the best of the last 3 albums. There's a lot of Melvins, QOTSA etc etc...still fun and entertaining, but damn, shit sound and unnecessary moments. I can still do this and clean the house yk. |

I do like this groove ngl, albeit the album may lack a little of density, its a bit direct. It's still a pretty good and bad ass debut effort. |
Richard Cheese The Sunny Side of the Moon |
Rifftera Across The Acheron |
Both their albums rule hard m/m/. The melodic vocals balance with the harsh ones pretty well and
original. The melodic parts may get a little too much at times for the genre on a pair of tracks
though. The songwriting is not very surprising, but it really sets the identity of the band after
the debut. Recd Tracks - Eye of the Storm; Cry Wolf |
Ringworm Death Becomes My Voice |
If you want crossover thrash - hardcore riffs this is for you. Do not disappoint in that regard. |

2 first tracks induced me pure chaos, but then I got all the hard(math)core and bdm influences

lower the rate here. |
Shades of Deep Water Death's Threshold |
I'm not big on funeral doom, but could listen to track 2 all day. |

The Crown Royal Destroyer |
This is still pretty good, but whoever's saying it beats Cobra Speed Venom is wrong XD I'm talking about the hooks and the difference between tracks, and the somewhat more organic production. But again I'm not a classic melodeath person, I'm just looking for fun. |
The Damned Things High Crimes |
As if ETID went Weezer. Still better than any late Weezer. Keith shows again he's an

The Strokes First Impressions of Earth |
This could be prob my fave from The Strokes..The band maintains its identity and leaps onto other shores from loads of contemporary fave bands of mine (Muse, QOTSA, Interpol, Radiohead etc...). First 4 tracks are awesome, Vision of Division and kinda dig Electricityscape. The album meanders and have some tracks that are major step-backs. I know the line is thin but some times not only Casablancas but the whole band seems to be drunk. Still rate 3.5 cause it has some of their darkest tracks. |

TOKiMONSTA Midnight Menu |
Tombs Monarchy of Shadows |
Torche Admission |
Although each track have fairly one riff, the vibe and atmo are awesome and somewhat original (?). For sure they teach Baroness a lesson how to produce a sludge album.rAdmission is one of the best ones here...certainly different from the rest of the album...almost tunes from bands like Interpol etc (post The Cure etc). Also dig the slight change on What Was to make almost a single chorus...its a pity they don't gamble more on these slight changes X |
Trap Them Crown Feral |
it starts really grindly promising, but it falls short in the 2nd part...cool listening and ending
track though |
Trap Them Seizures In Barren Praise |
Triangulo de Amor Bizarro oɹɹɐzıqɹoɯɐǝpolnƃuɐıɹʇ |
This is interesting, even if it seems that the band is divided between postpunk revival/noise rock and the neo Japan dreampop (even if this is in Spanish). As if one member from the band wants one thing and some other wants another. The title being the band up side down is completely anoying...good stuff all around tho. |
Triptykon Melana Chasmata |
Tropical Fuck Storm Braindrops |
The album definetely lacks the punk energy from the first one. I have to say it ends pretty strong emotionaly but first part is a bit of a let down imo, creatively speaking. Maybe its a grower yeah...r |
Tropical Fuck Storm Deep States |

Trvth A Galvanizing Derivation |
best tracks here are, no doubts, T/track and Affect The Whole...I don't how do explain it better
than "I love those toolish riffs melting on more dissonant bm vibe". Congrats! |
Two People Second Body |
I like this album and the group's vibe, but as the cover even suggests, it comes as a bit lazy, when comparing to the debut's quality, experimentation and feeling, on all tracks. |

Pretty clean 3.5 but hardly a 4. will get back to it fs though. Nocturnal Watcher was my fave here. TKS Trif |
Ulver Themes From William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell |
You can miss the folk and the BM but this is one bold, poetic, devilish tripop piece. The hints of BM are still there. This also breathes NIN's nineties era with tons of other vibes. |
Ulver Shadows of the Sun |
Underneath Nothing Here is Held Sacred |
URSA Abyss Between the Stars |
Good doom/sludge. In middle-ground between Pallbearer and Khemmis. Cool riffs, epic vocals and

I got all the references (that yap, can be misleading, but they're there). There's also a lot of Ulver's last release vibe in some post aspects as to the general Depeche Mode inspiration. The djent is no issue for me when is cool like this. Easy listen and easy 3.5 for now but I think it will grow. What is preventing me from raising this up is I think this album deserves a vocalist with more personality, but this kind of vocals thrive on northern Europe's post bands (perfectly tuned, scholar, ethereal but also cold and unengaging) - Favorite tracks are T/t and Whaler. r |

Interesting outfit...you must check if you're looking for new sounds in metal. A tad unmemorable and too watered vocals lowered my rating a bit. Great stuff though. |
Wytch Hazel IV: Sacrament |
I feel forced to bump this album. All tracks are too damn infectious! If I keep listening it may be a 4. Extremely chorus driven for better or worse..amazing how you get all the hooks coming on 2md listen. |
Xanthochroid Of Erthe and Axen: Act I |
Xenobiotic Mordrake |
Definitely this started to grow after second spin. The album has its highlights, such as Inverted, Saphris, Grieving the Loss of Self and T/tracks. Overall the drumwork is damn great and the techdeath aspects slay. |
Yashira Shrine |
This is a great approach on Remission (Mastodon) riffing in a more post output. |

One of Light, One of Soil rules. I wish the album followed that lower tone more often, it would give it a nice balance... other wise, and although the industrial aspects fit nice here and there, I feel a little too one sided and annoying high/screechy.I really dig the closer too, don't ask me why X) |
...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead X: The Godless Void and Other Stories |
After the The Opening Crescendo (lol - its really the title), the first proper track is really rbad. For me this starts to heat up somewhere in the middle (Children of the Sky maybe?) and ends rup pretty ok. It's somewhat a dated sound but some prog aspects keeps it interesting and scratch rsomewhat of an old (late 90's) alt rock's hitch...if you have one. |

Some songs are too short...ambient on some are very cool tho...other seemed too long...can't pass the idea this is an album of demos. Cool folk soundtrack, that's all folks. |
Bush The Science of Things |
Cabal (DK) Mark Of Rot |
Caelestra Black Widow Nebula |
The mix really brings this down imo...vocals sound really phoned and often robotic f.e. The
gorgeous moments are beyond gorgeous though, as the cover suggests. |
Candiria While They Were Sleeping |
cool album...they could be a little less "palm muted" and a little more "open chorded" in order to provide an heavier feeling...also the distortion of the guitars are really shy...that's why this is not as 3.5 for me |
Capitao Fausto A Invenção do Dia Claro |

Some tracks here are way too short...like samples of what they could ve been (makes sense they're rpractically demos recorded in a single take, before Caleb's death). Props for tracks like Night rCrawler and Lanterna though. |

Chevelle NIRATIAS |
I really don't know what to do with this yet. It's a pretty good mainstream metal album, despite a few missteps (it could go faster too). |
Children of Bodom Hatebreeder |
this one is very technical. I just can't stand the general folksy vibe so, for my personal taste, this gets better after Wrath Within. |

This has a very atmospheric prog approach...everything is pretty much unmemorable and washed out in songwriting (specially on first half), still the called atmosphere is very well achieved and it has some sweet passages. Tracks like Odem and Luciform gives some shape on a songwriting level - unlike others, that are complete draggers - 3.2. |

so with these guys I actually understood that Grind music goes from hardcore punk, metal, anarco-punk, noise rock e rock industrial. This is from the noisemusic anarco-punk genres. Is short (27 minutes) so its a pretty intense experience which feels longer than its actual length...because of the abuse of repetition and the tracks progress only slightly and only in terms of intensity too often. Good stuff but does little for me. |
Deafheaven Ordinary Corrupt Human Love |
Defeated Sanity The Sanguinary Impetus |
I loved the technicality and the sound of all

This could be a great debut, unfortunately is very long for such a one sided piece and only serves
one purpose, and its not memorability. Good DTish stuff though, with some melodic tremolo passages
here and there. |
Donny Benet Mr. Experience |
LMAO...the music is completely freezed in time, as the cover suggests. I like this character! It has a lot of love to give. This album is consistently good, a little too long...as if "we got the point dude". |

Also cool to think so outside the box like this. Big props for that cover art. If you put it on you can tell how hard it is to find a similar artist XD. The metal genre tag is also debatable. |

Is cool to get a track from Chester in 2019.
Pretty standard metal hardrock songwriting, a
risk LOG runs constantly as well. Great guitar
and a vocal feature on each track makes this
like a gatering of artists having fun. Zero
atmosphere and genre shifting also doesn't
help. Recd tracks - Cross off; Blur; The truth

This looked like a mash up deconstruction of many different "generic" music. Not sure if it sticks but despite this its so technical that it gets pretty cool. Is just me or anyone else wanted stuff like Crux on this? |

Nothing from their debut to hold on here. Did little on me but I 3 it cause I miss clubbin... |
Mr. Bungle Disco Volante |
The first release was super disturbing (like I was actually inside the head of that fucked up

Paradise Lost Medusa |
Paradise Lost Obsidian |
The album/ songs are very well done, but as predictable as flawless in the end...something on these guys turn me off, still a nice listen and a step ahead from Medusa. I specially dug the last third. For me personally there's something very hard rock in the songwriting that drags me down...again personally, I much more enjoy the latest Katatonia, or last year's Swallow the Sun.. |
Pentagram Last Rites |
Periphery Periphery IV: Hail Stan |
This album promises so much on those first 3 tracks and then those other tracks clearly trying to reach a broader yet dumber audience. Its a pretty commercial unhearted decision, specially once you see zero effort in songwriting...nothing to say about technical aspects...and the dude has great vocals. Recd track - Reptile |
Perpetua (PT) Esperar para Ver |
Sweet post punk pop rock portuguese record. The downside is all tracks try to achieve what Blockbuster acomplishes. Falei de Cor is more rock distorded and it feels pretty good. |
Perturbator New Model |

I liked this but I just take it for what it is. Guys having fun with their big talent going rSantana, prog rock and jazzy hiphop. A bit "hicky" overall but good&cool experimental stuff. |

The Work feels more like a work in progress?...unlike prev album, this flows quite bad, very disjointed and kinda riffless. Meshuggaish track Dreaming Black Clockwork (clockwork lol), MORE? and maybe the closer are prob the best ones here. I get they are trying to make a more dynamic sound to a stiff genre, it's just not the way to do it. If its a grower shout back to me. tks |

YEEAAH Finally Slipknot are back in their shape! Oh wait! Not slipknot? Still pretty cool numetal! I dug this! |

Added Glassjaw tag cause is pretty obvious. Too far from Tdep for the listener, but I get it cause of "Patton's stuff". Again for the listener is sometimes more Converge and Botch than actually Deftones (but maybe in the slower sexier parts). Good interesting job |

The sound is pre awesome but am I missing smth?...nothing western here. All songs on the same note and basic crossover slayer hxc. I know this may have some complementary art etc but as an album it kinda goes hard but it does not leave the station. |

Its okay...a little too Cedric worship and everything serving it (and he's not even that good here).rI miss the conflict of the instruments trying to stand out on each track. Also, its a no rocker |
The Obsessed Sacred |
The Ocean Fluxion |
honestly this one would win if they had more melodic vocals (like on the last 2 tracks). Though good, I found it a bit too much unmemorable tbh. |
The Spirit Cosmic Terror |
Everything is very well done, although also a bit inoffensive/ sterile. |
This Mortal Coil Filigree & Shadow |
Thou/Great Falls Thou/Great Falls |
Interesting Great Falls bass driven track with a too short and not that interesting Thou track...another Thou split making me acknowledging another band such as Great Falls |
Thrice To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere |

Portuguese OldSchool Thrash Metal band. This has some damn original vocals sang in Portuguese.
Some say its addictive, I personally think its really good speed thrash but with laughing content
regarding old school DM themes. So it speaks about death but in parody joyful way. Recd Track -
Loucos pelo Old School; Seita do Punhal |
Trees of Eternity Hour of the Nightingale |

Great and happy bluesy rock album. Well and carefully done. Still don't get the hype, yet its way better than any New Brand of Alkaline batteries. |

Type O Negative The Origin of the Feces |
ahahahahahahah good joke. YOU SUCK YOU SUCK YOU SUCK! |
Ulver Flowers of Evil |
Definitely feels like the B side of Assassination. This time the songs lean even more into that (Depeche Modish) song formula and less into those electronic psy progressions you catch on Assassination that provides the desired depth. |
Un The Tomb of All Things |
Good but a bit dragging regular doom record. Beautiful closer though. |
Universal Order of Armageddon The Switch Is Down |
Unyielding Love The Sweat of Augury |
Vessel Queen of Golden Dogs |
Good experimental electronic work but with a classic tone, features and instrumentation. |
Vitriol (USA) Suffer & Become |
Definitely busy. Fun record always on the verge of being too much. Rather the more disturbing vibe from the previous one. Prod on this a lot like Cattle decap, but messier... |
Voices Breaking the Trauma Bond |
Void Rot Descending Pillars |
Amazing atmosphere...as to the rest is ultimately unimaginative.... |
Voivod The Outer Limits |
this is good stuff but didn't made much for me, sometimes too "proggy grunge" and I'm not sure if it fits. Some parts of the music itself I found just ugly...that said, there is much talent and many cool parts and ideas all-round. fave here - Le Pont Noir. |
VOLA Inmazes |
Warforged The Grove | Sundial |
Wear Your Wounds WYW |
Weedpecker III |
Chill stoner progressive rock for me and my weed friends. Fave track - Embrace |
Weezer Pinkerton |
White Stones Dancing Into Oblivion |
This is still good but they lost the rock and psy touch imo. Its way more dm centered. While prod values are cool and remain revivalist is def way less hypnotic riffingwise, something I really valued on Kuarahy. This would benefit with some shinier prod but on other hand the id set on Kuarahy would be totally lost as well. |
Wilderun Veil of Imagination |
Too Disney Townsend for my taste, yet its cool those a la BWP riffs and leads. Also is very cool that there are people who fall in love for this. This kind of music is needed. The opener would make my day. |
