I just love this record for its diversity and technical performance. It feels quite complex without ever loosing punch. It has a near perfect combination of catchyness and brutality and every song has a unique vibe. I have to say it really grew on me and the more I listen the more I airdrum to all it?s highlights. Marilyn Manson Antichrist Superstar4.5 superbBury Tomorrow Black FlameI just cannot seem to get enough of this album. Never does it sound pretentious. Clean vocals sound great. Just to bad the production is not the bad. Great record for anyone looking for an easy listen that has all of the ingredients you want for a modern day pop rock album. Stormbringer my favourite song atm.Fit for an Autopsy The Great CollapseListening to songs like Head Will Hang and Black Mammoth; music for me does not get a whole lot better. I think FFAA have made an album that is the perfect combination between pure aggression and good atmosphere. No doubt they have been greatly influenced by Gojira, one of my other favourite bands. I rate this album 4.5 because I think FFAA has so much more potential. Give me Gorjira songs like The Haviest Matter of the Universe and Esoteric Surgery with a FFAA sauce and I will be the happiest man on earth. FFAA shows for me the lack of authenticity and originality most deathcore bands struggle with. Cannot wait to hear their new album! Inclination When Fear Turns To ConfidenceMalevolence Reign of SufferingTool Fear Inoculum4.0 excellentAmenra Mass VII am not at all a fan of the clean vocals on this album. They feel forced. I get that adding clean vocals adds to the depth of the album, however, I do not consider Colin to have as good a clean vocal as his screams are. Further I feel the same routine is repeated throughout the album too much, continuing the pattern set in earlier records. As soon as the signature soft part kicks in, in the middle of each song, the accompanying clean vocals start. It feels as if AmenRa have perfected their song structuring and build but are lacking creativity. A solitary reign for me is the one song that does have that song structure and build PLUS creativity and immediatly is by far the best song on the album. The closing minute of the record is also a moment where AmenRa is full steam and has me longing for more, reminding me of how much I love the rawer side of AmenRa which I feel I did not hear enough on this bum. Seems like there has been a trade off from brutallity for epicness. All in all I still love it, it might also be that this album is more of a ‘growth album’ that needs extensive listening to really grab me, however, this Mass for me at the moment is their least attractive one. It does add nicely to the entire catalog of AmenRa and I cannot wait to hear and see it live in little over a week. Broken Teeth At Peace Amongst ChaosI don't really get these low ratings. I might not be in 'the scene' enough to place this in perspective. For me, this is really one of the best I've heard in a long time. If you want to tear your gym down, this is the one that will push your 1RM over the edge. Love it, been repeating it for over a week now and will continue to do so.Fit for an Autopsy The Sea of Tragic BeastsKillswitch Engage IncarnateWalls of Jericho No One Can Save You From YourselfFirst listen, great album.
