| A step towards the right direction, but Richard Patrick's voice is done and this is coming from a guy who has seen Filter 5 times live. I can tell a difference from 10 years ago to now, he has destroyed his voice screaming and I think the alcohol abuse had something to do with it. Album-wise, it is the most listenable since The Amalgamut, but it wouldn't take much to improve so. The weaknesses on this album are his voice, the lack of a unique heavy sound, the lyrics, and I feel like I have heard this type of album before and I know it has been done better. The positives are as mentioned before, a step in the right direction, "Take Me To Heaven", and the fact that it isn't completely soft. I still think it is too soft and I am not a fan of the production on this album. 3/5 |
