06.13.26 Rec some jazz? 06.01.26 I haven’t done a list in eight years

Rec some jazz?

Jazz is how I got into hip hop and extreme metal. Honestly that and thinking that every extreme metal band wants to sound like a variant of Motorhead. Anyways, here’s my limited repertoire. I have listened to a few Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, and Charles Mingus albums. I picked my favorites/the GOAT jazz albums from what limited knowledge of jazz I have.
1Miles Davis
Kind of Blue

As basic as it gets. I love Davis shit. I think almost every person into rock listens to this to start.
2John Coltrane
A Love Supreme

If it isn’t Kind of Blue, it is this for the other best jazz album.
3Charles Mingus
The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady

A fucking classic album. I remember a guy recommending this to me when I was 19 and it blew my mind.
4Herbie Hancock
Sextant

I don’t know if this is jazz? My point is I am trying to open up my taste buds.
5Thelonious Monk
Thelonious Monk Plays Duke Ellington

This was the first Thelonious Monk album I could listen to.
