Better Lovers God Made Me an Animal
Code Orange Forever
Code Orange The Above
Every Time I Die From Parts Unknown
Is it as good as Low Teens? almost. Is Kurt Ballou pushing ETID to be as nasty as possible the stuff dreams are made of? Every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Every Time I Die Low Teens
The best band making their best album (as of Feb 2021, we'll see how that new one is). The best guitar album of 2016 if not the decade. Just the fuckin best man. I can count on one hand the albums ive ever heard that are this rewarding after 50, 100, 500 listens. Yes, I've almost certainly played this album 500 times.
Every Time I Die Radical
Have Heart The Things We Carry
This is the only hardcore album ive ever come across that lyrically is completely earnest and introspective with a personal development attitude. im sure there's more, but how the hell would they top this? its the perfect length, it's diverse without ever getting lost, and it's life affirming every single time. I AM NOT MACHINE. I AM HUMAN BEING. WHAT THE FUCK.
Punch They Don’t Have To Believe
Opeth makes albums that are at least an hour long. This album is 19 minutes, and most of the time, feels like it goes by in half that. Opeth will never make something as hard hitting as this scrappy punk band did once upon a time in 2014.
Slayer Reign In Blood
Once upon a time I was 18. Then I heard this. Then my music taste got heavier. so many bands these days think that being "heavy" is just about downtuning your shit to hell and putting a bunch of effects all over it. 1986 just called to remind you that that's some kid shit.
The Dillinger Escape Plan Ire Works
Sometimes when the existential dread catches up to me for a moment, and I need to channel it somewhere, I put this album on. YOU WAAAANT A VISIOOOON YOU CANT HAVE. A LINE THAT, YOU CANT WALK. And then 38 minutes later, a lot of the dread has been beaten out of me.
The Dillinger Escape Plan Option Paralysis
The Dillinger Escape Plan Dissociation
Words can never do it with this band, man. There's never been anything like them, and I dont think there will be again for some time. And to go out like THIS??? completely unreal. I cant think of a more ambitious end to a career. But for this level of ambition to be matched by the level of execution?? unparalleled, I think. This is an exceptionally bleak album. But I think what makes it so incredible is how it can be cathartic again and again even to someone like me who generally steers away from bleak and depressive moods.
While She Sleeps This Is the Six
While She Sleeps Brainwashed
this album... grabbed ahold of me in early 2015 at age 19, and is yet to let go at age 25. the fucking ultimate melding of catchy crushing riffs with soaring hooks and gang vocals. it changed over the next couple albums, but during this one, they were one of exceptionally few bands who could seriously claim to be very sentimental without spilling over into cheesiness.

4.5 superb
Black Breath Sentenced To Life
Cancer Bats The Spark That Moves
Converge Jane Doe
Converge All We Love We Leave Behind
ive heard people talk about this album as a drop off for Converge. Ridiculous. Yes its the album that i found them on, but 5-6 years later, its still their album i listen to most. Its not as hard to get your teeth into as the few albums that came before. The deluxe version is even better, with On My Shield and No Light Escapes
Dance Gavin Dance Tree City Sessions
Dance Gavin Dance Mothership
This should be considered a classic in the post hardcore area. No other band sounds like this, no other band is willing to even attempt mixing the things that these guys do, and even if they did, i douby very much that anyone would come close to the success of DGD. Its better than the two albums that came before, and the two that came after. Top to bottom it's just mind blowing.
Dangers Messy, Isn't It?
One of the few albums I love (Dillinger, Converge, very few others) which is so furiously bleak that it's straight up uncomfortable unless you're in the exact right state of mind. Perhaps the most furious, because of the unrelentingly sharp lyrics and the equally scathing delivery.
Don Broco Technology
I like big guitars. I dont like pop music as much as i would if it had big guitars. This is amazing pop music with big guitars.
Dr. Dre 2001
Dr. Dre Compton
all these songs are crafted so well. everyone who comes on for a feature is throwing a hundred miles an hour and the overall energy and vibe are impeccable. its very cinematic, and pretty inspirational too, considering how glossy, shiny, and meticulous everything is. those dre beats man... shit.
Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP
Employed To Serve Greyer than You Remember
Every Time I Die The Big Dirty
Every Time I Die New Junk Aesthetic
Greg Puciato Child Soldier: Creator of God
impossibly cohesive and compelling while being wildly diverse
Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction
In Flames The Jester Race
Johnny Booth Moments Elsewhere
Kendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city
Kvelertak Kvelertak
Marmozets The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets
Metallica Master Of Puppets
Metallica Ride The Lightning
Coming off something like Kill Em All, you really couldn't have asked for much more than this. Escape is the only thing keeping this from a perfect score. And that's not even to say its a bad song. It just isn't amazing like the rest are...
Metallica ...And Justice For All
Would've been perfect if the production and engineering were on the same level of Puppets, but unfortunately, they didn't come close. That, and Eye Of The Beholder is a boring song.
Metallica Live Shit: Binge & Purge
Metallica Garage Inc.
Punch Nothing Lasts
PVRIS Acoustic
Run the Jewels Run the Jewels 3
Skeletonwitch Serpents Unleashed
Every track is great, and they all flow so well. That into to More Cruel Than Weak is amazing. The production is really what brings it over the top, though. Kurt Ballou, once again killing it.
