Agalloch The White
Andy Hull Swiss Army Man OST

The first half is fun, but "Sister" onwards is an emotional roller coaster. That second half is easily the better
part of the album. "Never Be Mine" is the only track I'm not jiving with right now, and it's a shame none of
the songs play with the same dreamy synths of the fantastic opener "Intern," but great album overall.

Black metal with folky interludes and keyboards, sounds like Amorphis's Tales From the Thousand Lakes if it had black metal in there.
Slaegt Beautiful and Damned
Maybe I'm being hasty after just one listen, but wow. This is to black metal what Amon Amarth is to death metal-the riffing style is too melodic and based in traditional heavy metal to really qualify as black metal, but it expertly melds these epic melodies with a blackened aesthetic and intensity to make some seriously enjoyable metal.

3.0 good
Cauldron In Ruin
Look past the snooze-fest opener "No Return / In Ruin" and the rest of the album offers some fun riffs to mindlessly headbang to. Unfortunately, the drumming's pretty boring, and the vocalist sounds like a post-food-poisoning James LaBrie. The middle of the album's pretty decent, even if its instrumental is just an "Orion" wanna-be.

30 minutes of her lovely voice and gentle acoustic guitars. Nothing jumps out as exceptional, and there's
very little creativity outside of the haunting electric instrumentation behind Walking Dream, but as a whole
it's good enough for fans of early Ingrid Michaelson to enjoy.
