5.0 classic
Alex G Trick
Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited
Cody Jinks Less Wise
seriously underrated
Hop Along Bark Your Head Off, Dog
Kanye West The College Dropout
While everyone and their mother label Kanye "not the most technical rapper," Kanye, at least on this record, always has
something substantial to say. And his signature soulful production hasn't been bested since. Not by Kanye or anyone else.
Kendrick Lamar To Pimp a Butterfly
Pinegrove Cardinal
Old Friends is the kind of song that feels a part of the great american songbook. You feel like you've heard the song
somewhere before, but never as realized or as affecting. The rest of Cardinal isn't too far behind.
Pixies Doolittle
The National Alligator
There Will Be Fireworks The Dark, Dark Bright
Wilco Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Probably the best album of all time.

4.5 superb
Adrianne Lenker Bright Future
Alex G Rocket
Alex G Beach Music
Alex G Rules
Alex G House Of Sugar
for the ppl who thought Rocket was too all over the place House of Sugar brings Alex's
experimental sounds into a cohesive package that should entice any fan of indie music
Alex G God Save The Animals
Alvvays Blue Rev
Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti Before Today
Billy Bragg and Wilco Mermaid Avenue
Bob Dylan Blood on the Tracks
Bon Iver For Emma, Forever Ago
Carole King Tapestry
Near perfection. All of the songs (although not too fond of the title track) are both beautiful and able to convey the late
60's early 70's aesthetic as well as any other album.
Counting Crows August And Everything After
Guided by Voices Bee Thousand
Happyness Weird Little Birthday
Hop Along Painted Shut
While the highs may not be as high and the songs not as dynamic as the previous album, this time around Hop Along rocks your socks off for 40 straight minutes with very few missteps.
Hop Along Get Disowned
Jack's Mannequin Everything in Transit
Music kinda like Weezer but the subject matter is better and the singer doesn't have an extremely punchable bitchface and the name 'Rivers.'
Jason Isbell Southeastern
John Baumann West Texas Vernacular
John Moreland In The Throes
Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Consistently good but never great. Power and All of the Lights are amazing poppier cuts while Monster and Hell of a Life are darker and harder. The vocals to Devil In a New Dress don't do justice to the beat. Runaway and Blame Game are both immensely beautiful but a little long for their own good. Lost in the World is fantastic and outside the box. It's a great record but lacks that little extra 'umph'/'it factor' that would make it amazing.
Kendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city
Kendrick Lamar untitled unmastered.
King Kendrick showing us he not just a 3 album hit wonder and might still have some left in the tank. Prob a 4.5 if Untitled 3
was the same as on the Colbert Show
EDIT: FUCK IT its a 4.5. DAMN. being a disappointment really showed how great Kendrick was during his TPAB sessions.
Magnolia Electric Co Magnolia Electric Co
Mike and the Moonpies One To Grow On
Nas Illmatic
back when i thought i was black, this shit right here gave myself all the reason i needed to think that i was about that life. 36 chambers? that shit was too fkin hard for me. but this shit? thats that shit.
Okkervil River Black Sheep Boy
Opeth Damnation
Pavement Wowee Zowee
Pinegrove Everything So Far
Pinegrove can do no wrong (already hyped for the follow-up to Cardinal)
Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon
Radiohead A Moon Shaped Pool
Radiohead In Rainbows
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever Hope Downs
im addicted to listening to these guys right now got damn
Sparklehorse Good Morning Spider
The Beatles Abbey Road
Best album The Beatles made. Enough said...........
The National Boxer
The National Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers
The avg for this is a fucking sham. Better than anything they've done after Boxer. The real trilogy is SSFDL, Alligator, Boxer.
The Reign of Kindo Rhythm, Chord & Melody
This generation's Aja
The Reign of Kindo The Reign Of Kindo
The Smith Street Band No One Gets Lost Anymore
The Touch Funk G-Funk Instrumental, Vol. 2
The key to having a great night is to smoke some swishers while playing G funk beats.
The Weakerthans Reconstruction Site
I don't know how to explain it, but something about this album is very comforting. It's the musical equivalent of being a kid snuggled up in a warm blanket during December while Christmas lights and classic Christmas movies guide you to sleep.
The Wrens The Meadowlands
After about 4 or 5 songs I expected a drop in quality at some point, but it never came.
Townes Van Zandt Townes Van Zandt
Turnpike Troubadours Goodbye Normal Street
Wednesday Twin Plagues
Wednesday I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone
Wednesday Rat Saw God
Whiskeytown Stranger's Almanac
Wilco Being There
Wilco Summerteeth
Wilco A Ghost Is Born
Wilco A.M.
honestly this is pretty alright. don't let the haters tell you otherwise
Wu-Tang Clan Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
I started listening to this the summer after my senior year of HS and GOT DAM WAS I THE HARDEST MUTHERFUCKER AROUND BLASTING THIS WITH MY WINDOWS DOWN

4.0 excellent

Alex G DSU
Alex G RACE
Alex G Winner
Alex G Easy
Alvvays Alvvays
Alvvays Antisocialites
Ana Frango Eletrico Me Chama de Gato Que Eu Sou Sua
Anderson .Paak Malibu
.Paak should not have released this in January, this thing has summer vibes to the max.
Anderson East Delilah
Andrew Bird The Mysterious Production Of Eggs
Arctic Monkeys Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Ariel Pink Dedicated to Bobby Jameson
Ariel Pink Pom Pom
August Burns Red Rescue & Restore
August Burns Red Leveler
August Burns Red Constellations
The album that introduced me to music outside of the radio.
beabadoobee Space Cadet
'his' 'he' wtf doublez
Beach House Bloom
Between the Buried and Me Colors
One of my favorite albums in my early stages of listening to metal/full albums when I played electric guitar and loved shredding. Incredibly ambitious concept and manages to pull it off well enough.
Big K.R.I.T. K.R.I.T Wuz Here
Big Krits best. Hometown Hero is amazing. As the album goes on it evolves into a very good, night-time sounding brand of southern rap.
Big Thief Masterpiece
as with Pinegrove's Cardinal, I think this is kind of underrated here
Big Thief Capacity
Big Thief Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You
Blaze Foley Sittin By The Road
Bob Dylan Blonde on Blonde
Bob Dylan Bringing It All Back Home
Bob Dylan Nashville Skyline
Bob Dylan New Morning
Bob Dylan John Wesley Harding
Bob Dylan Desire
Bob Dylan Planet Waves
Bob Dylan The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Bon Iver i,i
Bon Iver Bon Iver, Bon Iver
Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Brent Cobb Shine On Rainy Day
Bright Eyes I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
Bruce Springsteen Born to Run
Car Seat Headrest Teens of Denial
Brevity is the soul of wit. Brevity is not the soul of Will.
Carly Rae Jepsen Tug of War
Carly's take on early 2000's alt/contemporary/rock/pop/whatever. It may be kind of poppy but I really dig the vibes given off. Each song is catchier than the next.
Chance the Rapper Acid Rap
If Nana and Smoke Again weren't on this easy 4.5. The production is fantastic, gives off a amateur(in the best way)/forward thinking vibe. I think looking back this will be seen as influential.
Clowns Lucid Again
Cody Jinks Adobe Sessions
Cody Jinks 30
Cody Jinks I'm Not the Devil
Colter Wall Colter Wall
Conor Oberst Ruminations
ppl turned off by the harmonica have never listened to bob dyl
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young Deja Vu
Daniel Caesar Freudian
Dave Rawlings Machine A Friend of a Friend
I'm still not convinced that Ruby wasn't recorded in the 70's.
David Bowie Hunky Dory
David Bowie The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
Deerhunter Halcyon Digest
Denzel Curry TA13OO
Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats Unlocked
Destroyer Streethawk: A Seduction
Drive-By Truckers The Dirty South
Drive-By Truckers American Band
Drug Cabin Wiggle Room
Light and breezy, some songs even reminisce of the country pop of the 70s (Sister Golden Hair, Amie, etc). An all around
pleasant record.
Elliott Smith Either/Or
Emery We Do What We Want
Flatland Cavalry Humble Folks
Flatland Cavalry Homeland Insecurity
Flatland Cavalry Come May
Fleetwood Mac Rumours
Nobody really seems to mention You Make Loving Fun, but it's the best song on here. Dreams is a close second. The album is all around great but for some reason the male singer's voice kind of annoys me.
Fog Lake Dragonchaser
Rattlesnake is one of those songs that you wish you could just play over and over forever
Forth Wanderers Mahogany
Foxygen We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors...
Foxygen Seeing Other People

Jai Paul Leak 04-13 (Bait Ones)
James McMurtry Complicated Game
Jamie xx In Colour
Jamila Woods HEAVN
Jason Isbell Something More Than Free
Whatever this lacks in musicality is made up in lyricism.
Jason Isbell The Nashville Sound
Jay-Z Reasonable Doubt
Jay-Z and Kanye West Watch the Throne
Jeff Rosenstock WORRY.
Jerry Jeff Walker Viva Terlingua
Joey Badass B4.DA.$$
John Baumann High Plains Alchemy
John Maus We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves
John Moreland Big Bad Luv
Joni Mitchell Blue
More than other albums from this time period, this seems like the record that all the cool kids in the early 70s were
listening to.
Kacey Musgraves Same Trailer Different Park
Kacey Musgraves Golden Hour
Kanye West Late Registration
Kaytranada 99.9%
All the beats are excellent beats. The majority of the songs with features are excellent (Glowed Up isn't very good). The
atmosphere from song to song, while just different enough, form a nice cohesiveness.
Kendrick Lamar Section.80
Some say that this eclipses GKMC and TPAB but I don't see it. I do think that this shows his immense potential that he
would later capitalize on in his next albums.

Also: K Dot watchu thinking by putting out songs like Tammy's Song and Spiteful Chant?
King Krule Man Alive!
Kurt Vile Wakin on a Pretty Daze
Laura Nyro Eli and The 13th Confession
This record starts off with a BANG with three fast-paced varied songs and then slows down and speeds up throughout the rest. When Laura is ON she makes some of the best music I've ever heard. Her voice is very distinct and I can see how some may not like it, but I dig it.
Laura Nyro More Than a New Discovery
Maybe I'm the only one, but this is exactly what I want from a Laura Nyro record. Nothing too out there. Just some nice soul-pop songs.
Laura Stevenson Sit Resist
Laura Stevenson Wheel
Little Simz Sometimes I Might Be Introvert
Love Forever Changes
Lucinda Williams Car Wheels on a Gravel Road
On paper the songs are all very good, but it just seems to draaaag when listening in one go.
Lucinda Williams World Without Tears
Lynyrd Skynyrd Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd
When half the songs can be heard on any classic rock station the album has to be pretty good, right?
Mac DeMarco 2
Mac Miller Circles
would probably be a bit better if mac's enunciation didnt sound like he was in the middle of od'ing
Madvillain Madvillainy
Didn't understand the hype at first but rapid fire shorter songs and chaotic production work well.
Margo Price Midwest Farmer's Daughter
Mid-Air Thief Crumbling
Mike and the Moonpies Steak Night at The Prairie Rose
MJ Lenderman Boat Songs
MJ Lenderman MJ Lenderman
Modest Mouse The Moon & Antarctica
Modest Mouse The Lonesome Crowded West

Pavement Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
Pavement Slanted and Enchanted
Pavement Brighten the Corners
Pavement Watery, Domestic
Pet Shimmers Face Down in Meta
Phoebe Bridgers Stranger in the Alps
Pinegrove Skylight
Pinegrove Meridian
More complex, varied, and emo-sounding than Cardinal but I feel Meridian is worse off without country tinges present on
Cardinal and is less emotional (at least to me). All in all an excellent first LP from Pinegrove.

Pinegrove Mixtape One
Pinegrove Mixtape Two
Pinegrove Ampersand
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
Hard to find a lot of faults with this. Welcome to Machine has kind of a different vibe than the rest and is a little long, but the Shine-ons are beautiful and the remaining two songs are rock classics.
Pixies Surfer Rosa
Pixies Come On Pilgrim
Pixies Bossanova
Pixies Trompe Le Monde
Porcupine Tree In Absentia
R.L. Kelly Life's A Bummer
Radiator Hospital Something Wild
Radiator Hospital Play The Songs You Like
Radiohead OK Computer
I can see why the album is considered one of the best of the 90's, if I had to think of ways to improve it, I don't think I could. It's 'perfect' in that aspect, but this record doesn't speak to me on an emotional/certain time of my life level like others have.
Radiohead Kid A
It's always interesting to think about how expectations play into the enjoyment of an album. If I expected myself to love this on the first few listens I would've probably rated it lower. But since I thought I wouldn't like this record for a while, now that I finally do I feel I've given it a kinder rating.
Ratboys AOID
Red House Painters Old Ramon

The Hotelier Goodness
The Jezabels Synthia
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis: Bold as Love
The Lonely Biscuits The San Francisco EP
The Mars Volta De-Loused in the Comatorium
A record of very interesting and chaotic music and lyrics. This has just the right amount of melody and dissonance. The concept of being in a coma and trapped in a hospital are very scary to me so this can sometimes bring out a feeling of anxiety and fear, which is always a plus .
The National High Violet
A change in vibe/atmosphere from Alligator and Boxer but it still quintessential The National meaning it still takes a while to warm up to.
The National Trouble Will Find Me
The National Think You Can Wait/Exile Vilify
If there was an album that maintained the quality of these singles then it'd be an easy 5.

Why does nobody talk about The Silk Road? Musically, it's gorgeous. The lyrics talk about death and invoke fantastical imagery of journeys on the silk road and being buried off the coast of Mozambique. It gives off a feeling of peace and beauty and fantasy surrounding death, which really speaks to me. As a 20 year old, death seems far off and not real, but if I'm ever on death's door, I think I'll try to listen to this song and I think it'll be comforting in a way not many other things could be. r

Townes Van Zandt Our Mother the Mountain
As much as people criticize the extra instruments added to Townes' guitar playing and singing, he sounds pretty dang

A Tribe Called Quest The Low End Theory
Undoubtedly some hip-hop classic songs on this but 6/14 songs are pretty eh and sound the same.

Man Phife Dog is so much shittier than the other members of ATCQ. Like learn how to have more than 1 flow.
Adrianne Lenker Hours Were the Birds

The production on this is just outstanding. Listen to this when you're high, sober, tense, relaxed, etc, etc..
Alter Bridge AB III
American Football American Football
ANOHNI HOPELESSNESS
I find the lyrics as cringeworthy as much as the next red-blooded Bud drinkin' American male, but something about the
unique voice coupled with the stellar production make this record an intriguing listen.

I Don't Love You Anymore and Why Would You Seperate Me from the Earth on paper don't really seem like something I
would particularly enjoy but they're quite good.

Frankie Cosmos Next Thing
Vocals feel like they have no life behind them in the worst hipstery way possible. Some of the songs are too short to really
reach their potential. The hook of 'I'm 20' sounds like a toothpaste commercial and the last several songs kind of drop off
in quality

Also @TheManMachine has the best and most unique soundoffs on this site.

Mac DeMarco This Old Dog
I think that this album has some of the best songs that Mac Demarco has put out. And these songs manage to escape the rtypical 'Mac Demarco' sound. While he should be commended, the album kind of lags at times, which prevents this from rbeing higher than a 4.
Mac DeMarco Salad Days
This is a good bunch of songs that for now I give a 3.5. But give me a full summer of day drinking to this album and I feel this rcould easily be 4.0+ material

All the ballads/slower tracks sound like songs I've heard a million times before. 24K Magic is bitchin tho.
Cyhi The Prynce No Dope On Sundays
c'mon this isn't as bad as you guys are saying
Danny Brown XXX
dne These Semi Feelings, They Are Everywhere
Is there anything that sounds worse than an off time british rapper?
Everything Everything Get to Heaven
Explosions in the Sky The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place
Flatbush Zombies 3001: A Laced Odyssey
Gang of Youths Go Farther in Lightness
Fuck violins and fuck the French language. Otherwise this is pretty decent. Coulda been an easy 4(+) with a little bit of quality control
Godspeed You! Black Emperor F♯ A♯ ∞
Haley Heynderickx I Need to Start a Garden
Hop Along Freshman Year
Interpol Turn on the Bright Lights
J. Cole 4 Your Eyez Only
John Coltrane A Love Supreme
Julien Baker Sprained Ankle
Kanye West Yeezus
Overrated. The best songs on this showcase Kanye's pre-Yeezus side rather than his new Yeezus industrial side aside from I'm In It and Black Skinhead. On Sight and Send It Up join Barry Bonds and Drunken Hot Girls as trash-tier Kanye.
Kendrick Lamar Kendrick Lamar
BEYONCE IS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS OF ALL TIME. Decent music from Kendrick before becoming rap royalty. I think he mentioned 'good kid mad city' in one of the songs, so its interesting to see that particular concept was in Kendrick's brain from the beginning.
Kevin Gates Islah
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Sketches of Brunswick East (w/ Mild High Club)
like it's pleasant enough, but after listening for more than a few songs it starts to get boring as fuck. kinda felt the same way about Loveless
Laura Nyro New York Tendaberry
Lil Nas X 7
Mitski Puberty 2
Modern Baseball Holy Ghost
First half > Second half
if you dont agree fight me
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds Skeleton Tree
Nickelback The Long Road
Nite-Funk Nite-Funk
Noname Telefone
Nothing on here is as good as her verses on Lost and Drown/Finish Line, but it's hard to recreate perfection. Good lyrics
with chill/samey production.
NxWorries Yes Lawd!
Feel asleep then woke up then fell asleep again while listening to this. Not really, but I wish I could've
Pinegrove Elsewhere
Plums Jen
This has a few good songs that really rip off Real Estate's style. Sprinkle in a little Mac Demarco and you got yourself an OK hipster EP.
Radiohead The Bends
Red (USA) End of Silence
Ryan Adams Prisoner
Son Volt Notes of Blue
Songs: Ohia The Lioness
Sufjan Stevens Illinois
Sufjan Stevens Michigan
Talking Heads Remain in Light
Texas in July One Reality

The National The National

got dam this thing gets really boring in the 2nd half
Tom Misch Beat Tape 2
Tweedy Sukierae
Tycho Dive
The start of the first song is really blissful and might be the high point. It's a good album to do your homework to, but to actively listen to? I'm not so sure.
Various Artists (Country) Southern Family
Walk the Moon Walk the Moon
Young Thug Barter 6

2.5 average
Frankie Cosmos Zentropy
As is the case in Next Thing, Frankie's *le quirky* lyrics fall short and are fairly annoying
Julien Baker Turn Out The Lights
dam gurl, when u gonna use a drum??
Kurt Vile Constant Hitmaker
Nickelback Silver Side Up
Rae Sremmurd SremmLife 2
If you think this is better than Sremmlife then you don't fuck.

Like I don't even fuck but I know for a fact if you thinking like that then you don't fuck.
Street Scholars 1 Hundo % Garbage Time
The Chainsmokers Collage
Hurrrrrrr durrrrrrrr, DAE worse than Nickelback? DAE douchebag?
Vampire Weekend Vampire Weekend
The musical embodiment of everything annoying about millenials

2.0 poor
Desiigner New English
A few decent songs intermixed with a lot of trash songs. The interludes are neutral as they don't really fit at all but they're just about the only musically creative moments on the whole tape.
Future and Young Thug Super Slimey
Jeff Tweedy Together At Last
Tweedy basically ruined: Muzzle of Bees, Ashes of American Flags, I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, and I'm Always In
Love.
The other tracks are basically yawn-inducing acoustic covers.
Kanye West Jesus Is King

1.5 very poor
Chance the Rapper The Big Day
Nickelback Dark Horse
The Chainsmokers Bouquet
XXXTENTACION ?

1.0 awful
DJ Khaled Grateful
i've heard like 4 of these songs on the radio and they're all ASS as FUCK
