Die Lit
It's ridiculous to claim that any record is "perfect." There is no such thing as a "perfect" CD; everyone makes mistakes, and that is part of what makes music so enjoyable. "Die Lit" is arguably the closest any hip-hop album will ever come to being "perfect." Beats, production, and lyrics are all minimalist. "Wow" is the only word that comes to mind when I think of it. Carti presents his effortless, superb lyricism, which embodies the old "rockstar" attitude of not caring about anything. Even Travis Scott brings his A-Game, and none of the features fail to deliver (who I fucking hate). All of this is accompanied by Pi'erre Bourne's strongest

Whole Lotta Red
One of the most mind-blowing albums of all time, but not one to be consumed in a single sitting. Sometimes I had to take a step back from my headphones because I simply needed a break. The wow factor.

Death Grips
Exmilitary
In many ways, this is a badass record that feels punk. I believe Death Grips, the album's makers, are heavily influenced by punk rock's sound and ethos. Aggression, and occasionally even guitars. I discovered that one of the members of this band actually plays the drums on this, which is refreshing because most "rap" unfortunately lacks that. This isn't even close to rap, and I'm not sure what else to call it.

The Money Store
This album is a fantastic example of forward-thinking experimental hip-hop. It's energizing, wild, and yet catchy.
