musical taste

favorite bands
Voivod Nothingface
This is one hell of a kick ass album with so much virtuosity and vividness. Missing Sequences, Into My Hypercube and Sub-Effect are the tracks I loved the most.
Testament The Legacy
Testament is an essential band in the Testament of Metal and their Legacy is cemented by this album. With amazing metal tracks from the start to the end of the album, the band never stops their musical assault. The outstanding track (for me) include Over the Wall, Burnt Offerings and First Strike is Deadly. Shout out to Alex Skolnick for such a mind blowing guitar work.
Bob Marley and The Wailers Catch A Fire
I haven't listened to many reggae albums, but this seems to be the most enjoyable experience yet. Whenever I think of reggae, I think of calm and soothing environment and this album surely delivers that. The problem seems to be the repetitiveness and lack of amazing songs (most are decent or average at best). However this album manages to spin out some good tracks like Concrete Jungle, Stir It Up and Stop that Train.
Black Label Society The Blessed Hellride
Different and good do not come often in the same package. But it is not the case in this album. With a unique sound, BLS brings a thoroughly enjoyable hard rock/groove metal album. My favorite tracks include Stillborn and Dead Meadow.
Blind Guardian Imaginations from the Other Side
I've had a fair share of Power Metal and this was definitely not my first listening to this genre or this band. I had heard many praises of this album so decided to listen to it. With a powerful and blazing first track (also the title track), I expected the album to go uphill but instead it felt like there was no ascent at all and it all sounded the same. I didn't feel the epicness that one feels when listening to Power Metal songs, in rest of the tracks. I'm not saying that they were bad, they were decent but not good enough for me to give another listen to. But the ending track was considerably better and I enjoyed it more as well.
Alice Cooper Killer
This album is a "Killer" hard rock album. The band members slay with their performance and there is rarely a grave moment in the track. Favorites include: Under my Wheels, Desperado, You Drive me Nervous, Dead Babies and Killer.
Bad Company Straight Shooter
The quality of Straight shooter is suggested by the title of the album itself. This is a power packed second album by Bad Company with very strong performances from the band members, and specially the vocalist Paul Rodgers. Apart from this, I really liked the tone of the guitar which is raw and bluesy at the same time.
