  • hal1ax sort of like freudian dream content in a way -- like u have the manifest content, which is what's actually taking place in the dream, and then the latent content, which is the symbolism//representation of that which is taking place.

  • hal1ax yes visual noise, absolutely. i like stuff like that a lot. there is a dualism about it too. there's its face-value aesthetic, just assessing the composition itself, and then there's this sort of subterranean call to the viscera and the unconscious. like there have been abstract pieces that have made me straight up cry before.. and i couldn't even tell u why. and ahh cubism is pretty cool. tbh i haven't been drawn to a lot of it but the one u linked me was phenomenal

  • hal1ax yea abstract art is really interesting to me. i find the psychological implications sort of fascinating too. like how someone can become to emotionally evoked and invested in some jumbled up maelstrom of colors and shapes... like it almost taps into something primal and subconscious. and omg i love that last one u sent... what is that style called?

  • hal1ax ya idk where some of that abstract art comes from. must just be very visceral. i don't imagine much thought or premeditation goes into it lol. i could be wrong tho

  • hal1ax yea subtlety is just so important. otherwise, to an extent, u are removing the viewers ability to view in his/her own context, through his/her own filter.. you're almost throwing a veil over their eyes insofar as their ability to perceive and interpret is contaminated.
