| 3.5 05.18.16 | | Kid Dynamo Super Suicide This early 90's Santa Rosa emo band was the predecessor to Edaline and the Desert City Soundtrack. It's raw, youthful and the sadly deceased Matt Carillo provided a great heart-on-sleeve vocal style. The band's other 2 singles are solid, but if you can somehow miraculously procure a copy of their demo tape, 'Shoots the Hoops' it's certainly the bands strongest effort. | 3.5 05.18.16 | | Blueprint (USA-TX, Emo) Acoustic These guys are best known for their split 7" with Jimmy Eat World, but they were a credible band in their own right, releasing several singles and a 12" EP as well. But, it is this sullen acoustic flexi that I find to the band's best work. It's a somber, meditative EP that could be construed as 'acoustic emo,' which isn;t far off, but it transcends that tag and holds its own as a fantastic unknown gem from the late 90's. | 4.0 05.17.16 | | Blueprint (USA-OH, Hip-Hop) acoustic flexi These guys are best known for their split 7" with Jimmy Eat World, but they were a credible band in their own right, releasing several singles and a 12" EP as well.
