Alice in Chains Facelift
(Four days later) Not much more to say, very good. Four standout songs very memorable, rest sort of blended in but that's all right, could get deeper into this. Time will tell. Made a much better impression than Dirt did years back.

Black Sabbath Forbidden
(One Day Later) Yeah, I desperately wanted there to be something here to go against the consensus. But there isn't. It's just bad, it's aimless and it really comes across like nobody cared - which aligns with the rumour that this was merely an obligation record. The guitar tone is cool, that's about all I can say. We lost fourteen years worth of Sabbath off the back of this, real shame. It also tarnishes Tony Martin's good work on other records by association, another big shame.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Unlimited Love
(One Day Later) Having never heard even a single song of theirs before I'm pleasantly surprised. Every song either started well but got weird, or started weird and got good. No duds! Not sure I'll listen again, but the better songs are now saved.

ALL Allroy's Revenge
(Three days later) It's no Descendents, that's for sure, but All can hit the spot. I can't recall most of it, but that can happen after a first Descendents listen too, so I can't hate on that. But there are only a few stand out bangers here, albeit much less. I'm sure I'll come around to it again and check out their other stuff sometime.

Samhain Final Descent
(One Day Later) So happy to finally have tracked this gem down - the evilive edition too! It's amazing to hear the original version of Twist of Cain and the main tracks did not disapoint in the least. Exactly what I was hoping for, proper unique Samhain rock but also really fresh and distinct from the other three releases. Keeping hold of this forever!

Kyuss ...And the Circus Leaves Town
(One Hour Later) Good, really good, perhaps the most enjoyable Kyuss album to listen to. With the exception of the last song, it does away with much of their usual nonsense. However, being album 4, it does show why the band ended after this, it seems creatively dried up at this point, shame they couldn't find a big voice vocalist to add a new dimension in my opinion. Very relistenable, but none of the songs stand out enough on their own.

Tool Undertow
(One Hour Later) Yeah, having no idea what I was walking into other than the early 90's, I got exactly what I should have expected. I liked it, it was listenable, but not too much stood out either as a song or for the band.
