 | Mort. bit random but Dead Man In Reno's previously unreleased second album is now out on spotify, if you want some obcurish core
 | Mort. its just been so long since ive had an actual list keeping track of what ive got left to check and am always stuck for choice due to spotify being so higgledy piggledy so now i always know whats next to check. will indeed be updating the list with my opinions and etc
 | Mort. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYO1mzlajhw super obscure 90s metalcore i just stumbled across. 3 votes on sputnik and none of them are you, wtf????
 | DrGonzo1937 just in case you're interested bud.https://www.sputnikmusic.com/blog/2024/02/04/dir-en-grey-a-diagnosis-from-a-faux-doctor/
 | Purpl3Spartan Check the wind in the trees and colonial wound my friend. Good times in store!
 | Storm In A Teacup Rando story! I have been trying to remember for years the name of this band i saw in 2014 and then met and got a signed copy of their cd. Finally found it today and it was a 9 rating album you did a soundoff on. Nostalghia - Chrysalis
 | botb No dude! Will definitely check it out. Gonna add a couple more albums to the list while I have a second
 | Mort. ion dissonance as deathcore, yay or nay?
 | Purpl3Spartan Inside the beehive, meek is murder, Gaza, an isle ate her, and myotonia have all been 4.5s for me. Those have been my favorites but I haven?t disliked anything so far
 | Purpl3Spartan Making a lot of progress through your mathcore recs. Pretty much all of it has slapped. Thank you for this list!
 | Mort. they are most deffo a mix of those genres but i think first and foremost theyre metalcore and wikipedia agrees. i would replace the hardcore tag with metalcore
 | Mort. pls go to gaza artist page and tag them as metalcore thank u
 | Mort. indeed and i probably never will! mwahahahahahahahaha
 | Mort. https://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands/Hogans-Heroes/55331/
 | Mort. they are because i just looked at them
 | Mort. hey you want some weird metalcore knowledge i only just remembered? for a long time (what i remember as years) there was a band called hogan's heroes that was listed on the metalcore wikipedia page as being one of the first metalcore bands. theyre no longer mentioned on the page at all and their own wikipedia page only briefly mentions they could be described as such. think i had to add them to the database so they were certainly never widely known. was very weird
 | Mort. i knew you were joking my dude, we are always cool you metalcore shining star you
 | Mort. buddy its just the literal metalcore top 200 charts in list form. not my rankings!! im going to be going through all of them and rating and ranking them in lists in the future
 | MarsKid Friendly reminder that the deadline is Friday!
 | Mort. glad you enjoyed it. have also just added the album art to the database. now that you have rated it i wont forget it exists which is good lol

 | parksungjoon cas turnt me onto it yea . RIP Dave Wenger he was in a bunch of emo and indie rock bands apparently that i havent spent neough time with yet https://rateyourmusic.com/artist/dave-wenger
 | Mort. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xxla3Y7esao found this the other day, on sput as one word 'cattlepress'. obscure core
 | Pikazilla Found it boring, but keep in mind that I only dig their first two.
 | Genocyber I was thinking of Rateyourmusic when I wrote that.
 | Pikazilla Damn, that's a real shame. I grew up listening to Casually and Hours, so they will forever hold a special place in my heart. Well, at least you gave them a fair shot!
 | MarsKid Oh golly. I don't think you did. You probably know infinitely better than I would at this stage.
 | MarsKid I don't know if I'll ever have enough time in my life to get to all of that lol
 | Mort. yeh for sure although you probs know just as much/if not core than me by this point
 | botb My man, taking a look now!
 | JayEnder Life sure is strange. And oh hell yeah, Sheboygan is really nice dude! Maybe one of these days you and I could link up at a show at the Rave. Knocked Loose and Movements are coming there next April if you're interested in taking a trip out to Milwaukee.
 | JayEnder Haha no way! A fellow Wisconsinite on sput, that's awesome. I'm from Marinette, about an hour north from Green Bay. How about you my man?
 | Dewinged Oh dude forgot to check it today cause I was busy with a rev but will jam it tomorrow! Sounds promising!
 | samwise2000 Yooo dude any thoughts on the new GazettE album? Saw you gave it a 4 so my Hope's are high!
 | davezillaMP3 Oh hell yeah dude I am hype! Makes me motivated to go through the disg. Run
 | accompliceofmydeath Those are all great goals! I've cut back on energy drink consumption myself. Financial goals are great/important to have. The peace of mind that comes with being financially stable can't be beat.
 | accompliceofmydeath Thanks! That's great to be working on yourself. No one is perfect and it's always good to work on bettering yourself. Have you set goals or anything?
 | accompliceofmydeath Hey! I've been good. Just been WFH and enjoying being a new dad. That's about all I can do. How about you?
 | bloodshy good luck. i think you'll find a couple gems in the pile of trash you made, though
 | heyadam dude YES. haha, glad you were able to get to it! they?re a cut above a lot of the bands in the mando-indie scene IMO. actually got to see them live once in China and once in America
 | Storm In A Teacup NOOOOO I wish :'( It turns out I don't have the mental capacity to handle all that music that I didn't pick out myself
 | dedex Deformity is sick! My fave of the bunch so far!
 | wham49 ya actually heading up toward you tomorrow, spending a week in Door County
 | dedex Dude the Legion record is good and all, but s*** these last three minutes are ****ing awesome
 | Sharkattack That?s cool man take your time I just didn?t know if you were aware or not.
 | Sharkattack Yo bro still need a rec from you for round 3https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=192306
 | dedex Driven - Cowardice Consumer of the West rips super hard, lovin' it
 | botb Thanks for the heads up!
 | dedex ****ing nice, thanks mate
 | dedex Hey Uzu, I've seen you listened to a bunch of Belgian H8000 albums, which one would you rec for a Belgian dude in need of connection with his country?
 | Storm In A Teacup hey uzi. yeah im good i feel really bad that this first round is taking so long. been on a bit of a bender with the wife while we are on vacation and she hates grime so every time i try to review the albums it has to be when she's sleeping and im up typically
 | MarsKid Oh right, I probably should have said that lol
 | MarsKid What's your account? I'll send a friend request.
 | MarsKid Hey, it's people like you that keep me coming back here. You got a Discord, bud?
 | MarsKid Saying I'm better would be dishonest since I'm not exactly improving. I do think I've gotten to a spot where I'm feeling better in general, which is a good first step. It's dealing with the bad days/stretches or minimizing their occurrence that I'm still struggling with.
 | MarsKid Fair enough, brother. Keep your head up. Stay a positive as possible.
 | MarsKid Oh, good timing. Just ran out of new stuff to listen to. Will check when I get off work! How are you these days my man?
 | Pikazilla Hai. What's your aotd? Feel free to the post once I've read btw. I won't tell anyone :)
 | MarsKid Ooo, I look forward to it then! Hope you like
 | MarsKid Yeah, seems pretty solid. Not sure if it's much past that, though. Gonna round up but it's probably closer to a 3. Thanks for the tip though!
 | MarsKid I thought it might have grown off me at some point, but I put it on once during a road trip and it was surreal. Definitely a hard 5, so that won't be changing.
 | MarsKid Well, considering I was the one who did the write-up... :p
 | MarsKid I see you 5'd The Woman You Saw... last year. Good on ya.
 | Divaman OK my friend. Maybe next month.
 | Divaman Hey Uzumaki, have you got a song for us this month? The theme is "Winter".
 | parksungjoon thanks. yea im impressed people even noticed lol. should prob spam less moving forward
 | Divaman Hey Uzumaki, have you got a song for us this month? https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=190606
 | MarsKid Never replied, but it truly does make me happy to have someone so supportive. Appreciate the good wishes. I'm getting myself centered as of late and I'm going to commit to wrapping up my self-rec backlog and whatever good s*** I missed last year.
 | samwise2000 Damn, a 5 for the new Morrie album! Im a pretty casual Dead End fan, but Ill have to check it out if its that good
 | MarsKid I'm trying. Leaving one of my jobs to try and carve out more free time to get some space to decompress. Gotten back into collecting as well, which is fun. Just don't have to desire to get back into the scene; I'm comfortable listening/re-listening to what I've already got, especially because there's some stuff in my 5s/4.5s I admittedly haven't heard in some time.
 | MarsKid I'm fully out of the loop in terms of new music. Been too busy/stressed to keep up unfortunately.
 | MarsKid Thanks for asking. Just struggling through. You?
 | botb And Kickback - Forever War if it?s not on anything yet, I?ve been on like a 3 month long kick

 | botb Oh! I didn?t see em on part 4! I know I already recced em but I thought they got buried and didn?t make the cut! Stoked!
 | botb Baptists - Bushcraft108 - Songs of SeperationShelter - Attaining the SupremeWeekend Nachos - WorthlessBane - Give BloodEnvy - All The Footprints...Majority Rule - Interviews With David Frost

 | Get Low Yeah, Sput needs to get their s*** together. I haven't listened to them; I just Google searched "Japanese deathcore" last night and found them and searched them on Sput out of curiosity. I'm probably not even going to check them out tbh.
 | Get Low RIP your Inception of Genocide album arts
 | MarsKid ... Spitfire, Stolas, Sufferer, The Hirsch Effekt, The Blood Brothers, The Secret, Verse, Vi Som Alskade Varandra Sa Mycket, Zapruder, Zygoma (ignore their sophomore effort). There ya have it bucko.
 | MarsKid If any of these are repeats, disregard: Eden Maine, Noise Trail Immersion, Suis La Lune, An Embrace of Angels, Ascariasis (Ocean of Colour only), Black Matter Device (LP only), Calvaiire, Cleric, Dionaea, Drowning With Our Anchors, Exotic Animal Petting Zoo, La Quiete, Majority Rule, Mesa Verde, Mihai Edrisch, Ojne, On the Might of Princes, Ovid's Withering, Planes Mistaken For Stars, Shadow of the Colossus, Sights and Sounds...
 | MarsKid Hmm, I'll have to check and see what you've already heard. Don't want to send in duplicates.
 | accompliceofmydeath I was just reading through the comments on the pt. 2 list and saw sput was down for a few days! I also saw you'd like to keep in touch with people on there. I dunno if you have insta, but you can add me on there: billxmccambridge or facebook is just my name with no x.
 | accompliceofmydeath Hey, thanks for reaching out! I've actually been on vacation! I was traveling in Switzerland and Italy for the past week or so.
 | samwise2000 Agreed. This is one of the only sites online not swarming with crazy jrock fans. We are much more critical over here, which I appreciate haha
 | samwise2000 Love your profile pic, nice seeing other Urasawa fans around here!

 | JohnnyoftheWell Aww thought for a sec you meant Daoko had a new one :O Need to get into her properly tbh, but will check when I do! And yeah Kalk Samen is a weird headspace but gets better and better
 | JohnnyoftheWell Oh damnnnnnnnnn okay, forget Seiko for a little bit and definitely forget new Shiina and check Shouso Strip and Kalk Samen asap!!! Two absolute classics right there
 | JohnnyoftheWell Yeah, should give it some more attention tbh, should check the new one (Majiko's, that is). And Seiko is easily my top artist of the 2010s, so much love for her. I guess imagine Shiina Ringo crossed with Mariko Goto with an added love of idol? Her early stuff is wayward indie folk, her later stuff is slicker pop (with a few twists- her latest is 50% glam metal), but Sennou is a freakhouse with elements of everything, highly recommend starting there
 | Pikazilla Thank you very much! I will check those out! It's going to take a while though - because that's a lot of albums to get through and digest :)
 | Pikazilla Hi! More visual kei recs are more than welcome :)
 | JohnnyoftheWell Damn I was not ready for the heavy track on that Majiko EP! Reminded me of parts of the new Seiko, but even more performative lol. Have you heard her new album?
 | 50iL Ah, glad you enjoyed! Bartok was amazing, for sure. Whenever you're done with Stravinsky, lemme know if you want more recs :)
 | 50iL Looks fantastic, can't wait to get started. Thanks to you, friend :)
 | 50iL You mean Arnold Schoenberg? hehehe. Anyway, check out Bela Bartok - The Miraculous Mandarin as well as Music for Percussion Strings and Celesta. Oh, and Stravinsky - Symphony of Psalms, The Firebird, and Petrouchka. I figure that's a solid start. Have fun!
 | 50iL Hey there! I know you love Rite of Spring, but have you ever considered getting into more modern classical? It has been incredibly rewarding for me, and it could be for you :)
 | artiswar ohh, I hope you have fun man. Happy (early) 4th Of July
 | artiswar Want to come on discord to jam the new BOS with us on July 5th?
 | accompliceofmydeath Cool, man. I love talking about this stuff. I think Manic Compression is a little more diverse than Slip. Hopefully you dig it. Looking forward to some more discussion. Keep it up!
 | accompliceofmydeath people know as post-hardcore today. Influencing bands like Far, Glassjaw and Thursday who bear a stark resemblance to Quicksand vs the more rough around the edges bands like Hot Snakes, Unwound and Refused (though it could be argued those bands were influence by Quicksand, too). Quicksand also brought the sort of chugging sound to post-hardcore, too. Before them not many post-hardcore bands were playing down-tuned, heavy riffs like Quicksand
 | accompliceofmydeath Here is my Quicksand spiel: While I think the DC bands who a part of the Revolution Summer truly kicked off the whole post-hardcore movement, I think Quicksand helped morph it into what it would become. I look at the older post-hardcore movement as having two main branches; the more angular, discordant stuff like Drive Like Jehu and Hoover and the "poppier," for lack of a better term, like Quicksand and Fugazi. These bands brought more traditional songwriting that would later influence what most
 | artiswar Finally jammed it. It was okay, nothing too crazy. Still, thanks for the rec
 | artiswar Hey, I totally forgot to jam that EP you recommended. Going to do tomorrow, sorry I forgot about your comment. If it's similar to Brand Of Sacrifice I'm excited.
 | neekafat That was really good! Didn't love the opener but the rest I really liked (:
 | neekafat Will do, thanks for the rec! (:
 | botb I?ll give you some modern stuff to check. Foundation - when the smoke clears, incendiary - cost of living, axis - show your greed. Then let?s see... indecision - unorthodox, buried alive - death of your perfect world. And one post-hardcore wild card... Rinoa - an age among them
 | botb Haha I don?t know what to rec! Let me look at get back to you
 | botb Dope! I?ll do that, but I think I gave you a good start
 | JohnnyoftheWell Hey check out the Dots album I just dropped a review for - really cool sounds you'll probs dig ;]
 | TheMightyScoop no prob! if you're into the sludgier, frantic brand of metalcore (which I assume you do since you like zao) then youll prolly love every album on that list.
 | TheMightyScoop 1. Burnt By the Sun - soundtrack to the personal revolution2. Merauder - Master Killer3. Burst - Origo4. Training for Utopia - Plastic Soul Impalement5. Candiria - 300 Percent Density6. Nostromo - Ecce Lex7. Curl up and die - Unfortunately we're not robots8. The Secret - Luce9. December - The Lament Configuration10. Shai Hulud - A Profound Hatred of Man (really anything by these guys)
 | JohnnyoftheWell That EP can be a nightmare to find, hit me up with your email if you don't have any joy and I'll send a google drive your way ;]
 | CalculatingInfinity Yeah, I saw you rated two of their albums but not Adoratio which is...something else.
 | dbizzles Yes, it?s it?s own thing. I always recommend a VPN but the program does the downloading itself so you don?t need a separate torrent program. It?s great and has tons of music. Keep an eye out for 320kbs Files. The search system isn?t the best but other than that, it?s fantastic.
 | ramon. Hell yeah brother. I?m quite a big fan of his work, particularly Black Paradox, Gyro, and of course Uzumaki. Always nice to see other admirers of his work around the site!
 | neekafat That's totally fair, gonna give it a closer look because I dug the BN influence a lot and want to give it a fair shot (:
 | neekafat Really not a fan of these screams in Gatherers ):
 | neekafat Understandable! It's just for chatting with other users directly instead of on random threads. (:
 | neekafat just a heads up bud, you gotta post your responses on others shoutboxes for them to see it! Sput is jank lol, I still trip up on that sometimes
 | Uzumaki Hope my picks meet expectations...
