  • BlackMalachite Hey man, I dropped another album if you want to give it a whirl. It's ambient as well, but much more classically focused - https://blackmalachite.bandcamp.com/album/reaper-roots

  • onionbubs I dig agony way more than most but live young die fast is easily one of their worst songs imo
    October 22 11:39 AM
  • onionbubs i like all of their albums but addiction and my shame are probably my least favorites. Both of them have killer songs tho. my shame has more good songs but aside from the first two its definitely one of matts weakest albums. dans songs are incredible on it tho, and a lot of his best songs from those sessions didnt even make it onto the album imo. addictions second half is overall probably the worst thing they've ever done although fine is one of my all time favorite trio songs
    October 22 11:39 AM
  • onionbubs amazing album yea. so much good stuff from them. goddamnit through crimson is one hell of a run (agony and irony rules too but its got some sub par cuts)

  • Joeman82 They used him a lot in Mothership to be fair
    June 23 05:03 PM
  • Joeman82 Yeah I did. Tilian sounds better than ever, and my only problem is that I wish they focused on making the Jon Mess parts sound a little less forced. Still a killer song though.
    June 22 01:10 PM
  • Joeman82 I showed my girl the Bruno Mars cover and while she sat there utterly puzzled at what to think I was smiling and bouncing along to the song lmao.

  • Joeman82 Those heavy emotions that I felt was a while ago man. I talked to people and everything eventually worked out. Glad everything seeems to be working out with you too! Keep up the positive vibes and jam DBM2 when you're feeling down because how can you be sad when there is someone screaming about not wearing a shirts thar are pink or purple, haha.

  • Joeman82 Today's my first Sputnik Anniversary, and I don't think I've done enough activity to warrant a list about it, so I'm making the rounds and thanking some specific people for making my experience enjoyable. I'm so glad you're doing ok, and your recent list touched my heart. had some destructive thoughts and almost did some horrible things to myself, so it's nice to see someone who went even further than me safely recover. Thanks for being cool and being one of the only open DGD fans on this site!

  • Hep Kat April is Autism Awareness Month here. We have a president who disparages the disabled. You're better off for being British, man
    April 12 09:36 AM
  • Hep Kat Hey, man. Spotjohnny made me privy to the thread you posted re: autism and stuff. Just wanted to say, **** anyone who has any s*** to say about that. My godson is autistic, yet remains a wonderful little boy. I imagine you're American, so you likely know what April signifies. Be easy, ay? Don't ever let these numbskulls get under your skin. Ain't worth it. Never has been, never will be.

  • Joeman82 Since you enjoy Sianvar and ALLB, check it Hail the Sun's album Wake. I recently discovered them and they're such a great band.
    February 16 12:36 PM
  • KevinKC Thanks for your very funny comment on Say10.
    February 15 07:05 AM
  • Joeman82 and well you know... Sianvar's drummer is A Lot Like Bird's drummer Joe Arrington. He's absolutely amazing, a true inspiration for me behind the kit.

  • Joeman82 Biggest con of Sianvar: no screaming Biggest pro: everything else
    December 10 07:26 PM
  • Joeman82 You hear the news Kurt is leaving the band because they're taking a different direction that involves no screaming? A little worried about the future of the band.Have you heard Sianvar's album Stay lost yet? It's one of Will Swan's "creative outlets", and I'm in love with the album.
    December 5 11:23 PM
  • tresm87 yea my opinion differs from mostno apologies
    December 5 09:32 AM
  • Joeman82 A Lot Like Birds are pretty damn cool. Really love Conversation Piece and I haven't given No Place more than half a listen yet. The drummer is incredible, and vocals are really good. My fav from them is probably Properties of Friction because of the beautiful spoken word poetry on the second half. So damn powerful.
    December 4 05:06 PM
  • Joeman82 "So I?m baking a cake / got this badass oven filled with goodies and treats / For all of my friends,)Then Jonny comes and he poisons the food / Everyone is dead, now wasn?t that rude" Classic line. I love his newer style lyrical nonesense, but the best set of lyrics Jon made was People You know.
    December 3 12:48 PM
  • Joeman82 The more and more I read DBM2 and Tilian era DGD lyrics, the more I think Jon Mess makes the lyrical equivalent to a s***post, and I love it.
    December 2 05:19 PM
  • Joeman82 Yeah, fair point. Are you actually going to eat Jon's salsa or just leave it mint as a collectors item?
    November 28 02:40 PM
  • Joeman82 I purchased a DBM1 vinyl, but I couldn't get DBM2 in time. :'c riperoni
    November 28 11:17 AM
    November 25 11:42 AM
  • Joeman82 LMFAO! I'm hopefully getting the bundle with the cd/vinyl/shirt/poster combo for Christmas, but now I really want that because it's hilarious.
    November 25 11:41 AM
  • Joeman82 I can understand why you like it, it's just not my cup of tea you know? Mothership though, that s*** is my album of the year for sure. I have it on repeat every couple days.
    November 24 10:38 PM
  • Joeman82 Not yet, I still have a s*** load of recs to go through. I've heard they're really good though, and I'll make sure to give them a listen before the year is over. They've gotta be better than any other MCR solo careers (Gerard... sigh).
    November 23 08:33 PM
  • Joeman82 Was that the one with Bowling for Soup and the only good song on it was the Frank Iero cover?
    November 23 12:10 PM
  • Joeman82 Don't even get me started on that dreadful Cancer cover man, I could talk for hours how much I despise it.
    November 22 07:55 AM
  • Joeman82 Yeah... Extremely true from what I've seen. Now that same fanbase has moved onto twenty one pilots and made me like the band substantially less... sigh.
    November 21 07:59 PM
  • Joeman82 You're damn right I'm a fan, haha. My favs are Thank You For the Venom, Famous Last Words, Our Lady of Sorrows, Demolition Lovers, Hang Em High, I Never Told You What I Do..., House of Wovles, Honey, This Mirror..., Sleep, Mama, My Way Home Is Through You, and Bulletproof Heart to name a few. Gerard Way's story telling throughout all of his lyrics is quite amazing, and overall I think they get an undeserved bad wrap for some reason. They're awesome.
    November 20 09:17 PM
  • Joeman82 "We all came here just to fap" - Jon Mess 2015 lmao.I see you have all of My Chem's albums 5d, what are some of your favorite songs by them?
    November 19 07:42 PM
  • Joeman82 I gave instant gratification another spin recently, and oh my god, Jon mess is incredible on that album. He steals the show for sure especially on songs like Storke God, and On the Run when he's given a lengthy time to scream without Tilian.
    November 18 03:30 PM
  • Joeman82 What do you expect from Johnny? One of my favorite performances of them is when the original line up was back for a couple shows before DBM one, it's on YouTube, Johnny is drunk off his ass, he messes up the lyrics to practically every song, but he still sounds so beautiful. It's a damn shame he couldn't get over his demons because he's so talented, and I love both DBMs.
    November 12 08:13 PM
  • zakalwe Total arseholes then.
    November 12 04:24 AM
  • Joeman82 Jon is a beautiful man isn't he? Their tour setlist is killer this year so it makes me quite sad I didn't get to see them when they came by Detroit. Oh well, the struggles of being sixteen with no job, lmao. I would've killed to hear Kurt sing Carl Barker or Johnny sing Times New Roman or Spooks.
    November 11 11:10 PM
  • zakalwe Were the blossoms arseholes or half normal fellas?
    November 11 03:33 PM
  • Joeman82 Hey man are you doing alright? I just want to make sure you're feeling better since that post a couple days ago. I genuinely care when people are going through tough times and I'm down to chat about anything music related or not. We could, for instance, talk about the amazing absurdity of a band DGD is.
    November 6 10:21 PM
  • Snake. lol chill i don't hate them that much
    October 7 07:58 PM
  • TheSpirit I'm glad someone around here can! But yeah, the past few weeks I've been obsessing over them. Now that Mothership has leaked/about to come out, I'm binging on them hard.
    October 1 08:00 PM
  • BeeRyan i'm really psyched you liked it! it's actually my buddy at school's project, and i contributed a few things to it as well. we tried to let our love of horror influence every aspect we could, and because i know you dig MCR, i thought you might appreciate those touches. pass it around to other people, we had fun making it and want some more people to hear it! =)
    November 7 04:52 PM
  • BeeRyan ayyyyyyy you should check this out. fun little mixtape made as an homage to autumn and horror flicks. give it a listen! https://captainmovies.bandcamp.com/album/burial

    October 23 01:45 AM
  • trackbytrackreviews I have never purchased a vinyl actually, I don't have any kind of machine that plays it
    October 21 09:53 AM
  • SowingSeason Thanks man. It's been so long but I still like that review and band.
    October 21 02:33 AM
  • BeeRyan shout outs to my MCR vinyl collecting brother haha
    October 19 05:21 PM
  • Thealwaysopenedmind Yeah. Exactly. On another note, Tillian is a magnificent addition to DGD in my opinion. Haha.
    July 13 07:25 PM
  • Thealwaysopenedmind Thanks man and I agree. It's ridiculous. Why do people have to be so nasty and disrespectful to each other? I love this site, but some of these people....ugh. Haha.
    July 13 04:04 PM
  • Thealwaysopenedmind Dude, I don't completely agree with your list, but it doesn't even matter. We all have our own opinions. At the end of the day, DGD fans are DGD fans. Don't sweat those assholes.
    July 13 02:07 PM
  • Feather Thats exactly what I was thinking. They sounded good, but there was nothing that really stuck out to me. I just felt like I had heard it many times before.
    June 25 05:19 PM
  • Feather No way, I knew I had heard the name before and then they sounded so familiar. I have listened to them before! They were the second review ever on the site that I'm writing for.http://cloudedsociety.com/2014/12/knucklepuck-whileistaysecluded/
    June 25 03:55 PM
  • Feather Thanks! I'm a staff writer now on a new site so I do most of my writing for them, but I write for sputnik occasionally (or more, regurgitate what I wrote for the other site). I'm checking them out Knuckle Puck now, I'll let you know what I think.
    June 25 03:51 PM
  • Snake. absolutely not, everybody is entitled to their opinion, and i'm entitled to my own opinion about other's opinions too.
    June 25 10:36 AM
  • Snake. because not everything is fair
    June 25 09:56 AM
  • Snake. quit acting retarded, who the **** else on here is going to 5 tangerine dream and a s*** load of radio rock at the same time?
    June 23 02:38 PM
  • Snake. sorry i don't have any tolerance for townsendium alts
    June 23 09:25 AM
  • mEyck97 I would really like you rating Breaking Benjamin's new album :)
    June 21 09:37 AM
  • mEyck97 Breaking Benjamin's Dark Before Dawn has pretty weak singles but songs like breaking the silence saved the album for me...
    June 20 12:47 PM
  • ASnideReturns Thanks! Hope you enjoy them!
    June 19 02:00 PM
  • ASnideReturns Hey, I read most of your reviews and most of them were pretty damn good, undeserving of the negs. So I pos'd said good reviews, enjoy your new approval rating! (Jumped from a 66% to a 73%)
    June 17 12:16 PM
  • Jasdevi087 I think we can all agree on that one.
    May 16 05:31 PM
  • Jasdevi087 Not all of them. As a musician, I'm more than happy to take criticism on something that needs improving. Unless someone writes a review on one of their pieces that's a poorly structured rant, anyone that can't handle the opinion of one solitary person probably needs to remove their head from the inside of their large intestine.
    May 15 07:00 PM
  • Jasdevi087 I sure hope so.
    May 13 10:18 PM
  • Jasdevi087 "There really are better things you could be doing than arguing with music critics who are arguably the most useless and ignorant beings on this earth. Musicians hate us"
    May 12 10:46 PM
  • TheMoonchild Yep and I just noticed yours!
    April 29 10:14 PM
  • mazalthan For sure, I definitely enjoyed it.
    April 19 11:55 AM
  • Gameofmetal No problem, always happy to help.
    April 19 11:18 AM
  • Mongi123 Oh wow that was a while ago haha your welcome though!
    April 18 07:22 PM
  • Angelboros Wouldn't say my taste in music is that eclectic, but thanks anyway, man. It's rare to see somebody here on Sput who legitimately likes Sonic Syndicate. I personally don't care for them, but different strokes for different folks, I guess.
    April 11 11:43 AM
  • Angelboros That's quite the amount of favorite bands you have there. Not that I'm complaining.
    April 10 02:31 PM
  • SweeneyTodd Never underestimate the power of an obscure/good band name, I only bothered listening to Dance Gavin Dance because the name made me laugh
