  • trilo nice mang! you'd probably like symbology of shelter then i think it's their best. the progression on that album is immaculate very much an ~album experience~
    December 4 04:05 PM
  • Emim Looks like Mike from Convictions is featuring on the next Diamonds to Dust single ?
    November 30 05:50 PM
  • AlkemestRedux I thought I might be doing this wrong lol thanks for the heads up!
    November 30 07:40 AM
  • bellovddd been binging convictions and god damn. They do be slapping.
    November 29 10:23 AM
  • bellovddd ye i love them! Their latest album is a beast as well! fun band!!!
    November 24 03:24 AM
  • Emim Oh I didn't even know that. Makes it even cooler imo
    November 22 01:52 AM
  • botb Oh hell yeah they?re great too.
    November 20 09:50 PM
  • botb 1 to JR?s no warning rec too, that?s a top 5 hardcore album of all time for me. Same with the first cromags record
    November 20 09:08 PM
  • botb Thanks man! And Hahaha hell yeah. As far as like riffy proto-metalcore goes, master killer is kind of the bible of sorts. Check out Kickback too for similar style, NYHC style from France and they?re all sketch balls
    November 20 09:07 PM
  • jrlikestodance Sounds awesome, never heard of that band before. Definitely will give it a spin soon m/
    November 20 07:53 PM
  • jrlikestodance Since you're digging Terror I would also recommend Ill Blood by No Warning and Prying Eyes by Cruel Hand. Two of my favorites in that style
    November 20 07:30 PM
  • jrlikestodance Also have this list of some NYHC classics - https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1154534
    November 20 07:14 PM
  • jrlikestodance Todd from Nails was actually their guitarist and wrote the first 2 Terror records. His old straight edge band Carry On before Terror is also a good jam. Only 1 album but it rips
    November 20 07:13 PM
  • jrlikestodance Dude Terror was my gateway into proper hardcore. Saw them open for Emmure and Miss May I and it blew my mind how many people went just to see them and the insane crowd reaction. I even stage dived and missed Emmure's set cuz I got kicked out lol. First three records are very close to my heart
    November 20 07:12 PM
  • Emim I've heard them before, not sure if it was that album. Don't remember anything lol, I'll have to check again
    November 19 09:22 PM
  • Emim They definitely get a bit cheesy at times but I love that band. Pretty sure they do like a nu-metal rap verse on one of their songs lol. Anything before the Corpus Christi EP is a very mixed bag though, I think only one current member is original.
    November 19 09:05 PM
  • jrlikestodance You definitely get used to the more hc style vocals the more you listen, in some cases I find they compliment the music much better and may lead you down to more traditional punk and hardcore stuff as well. And the Tom Araya comparison is a good shout too, I always thought Jorge from Merauder reminded me a bit of Max Cavalera myself but can see that too. I recommend digging through some more NY classics there's endless cool stuff to be found!
    November 19 03:08 PM
  • jrlikestodance Sooo happy to hear you're digging it man! It has everything I want in a hardcore record memorable riffs, tight grooves, catchy songs, and enough variety between the songs to keep it fresh while staying true to the style. Title track was stuck in my head for weeks when I first heard it and Time Ends is a perfect opener
    November 18 08:14 PM
  • jrlikestodance I was very surprised to see Facedown put out the record also, I figured that label was long gone by now. Definitely a great release and I'm excited to see where they go next as well. Honestly serves as a great contrast to what Acacia are doing right now even if they're a little similar
    November 17 11:33 PM
  • jrlikestodance That Cultist album rules man! Totally giving Christcore Acacia Strain but I feel like they do it with their own spin. Doesn't sound overproduced either for the style it's going for as well. Thanks for shooting that my way
    November 17 11:20 PM
  • sr388 i actually wrote my first music review on here when i was 13 which i just remembered lol! so funny looking back at my writing as a child: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/30856/Haste-the-Day-When-Everything-Falls/totally different from georgia which i miss sometimes, but it's perfect for my line of work and i go back to atlanta a couple times a year (headed back next month for the holidays). how do you like wisconsin?
    November 15 08:48 PM
  • sr388 yup i had an account from 2009-2011 on here, before just lurking for the better part of a decade, then eventually felt the inevitable pull to get called an idiot by people for liking emmure again lol! how long have you been on sput for? and nice my friends just got married in wisconsin! i'm from georgia but live in california these days.
    November 15 05:45 AM
  • sr388 i'm also 30! i got into christcore in middle school and started going to shows when i was 14/spent high school going to little christian metal venues, i was obsessed with the genre which is funny because i was also a sputnik user at the time when anything core was much more hated on here. i had to pretend i wasn't listening to half of what i actually enjoyed lol! are you also from the states? i've wondered if my experience with the genre was heightened by being in the south.
    November 15 05:06 AM
  • sr388 my ultimate scream the prayer memory is norma jean, the chariot, and sleeping giant as the 3 headliners. kicked in the face so hard that it felt like time stopped during the chariot and stage dove to "memphis" when norma jean closed their set with it. bring me back to 2011! i never made it to cornerstone which i would pay serious money to time travel to. one of my favorite videos is the devil wears prada playing in like a parking lot at cornerstone in 2006.
    November 15 04:48 AM
  • Emim Idk if I've rec'd Saving Grace before but I think you'd dig then
    November 15 04:42 AM
  • sr388 woah i had no idea brook was guesting on sleeping giant songs all the way back in 2007, this rips. it's bringing me back to seeing sleeping giant on scream the prayer. and yes i've gotta hop in that thread! i've been good man, work is crazy but i can't complain, hope you're good too!
    November 15 04:31 AM
  • sr388 "meet me somewhere quiet" and "fall on your knees" are especially trancelike up until they hit those final breakdowns, i love the payoff to "fall" with brook from impending d crashing through at the very end. i really enjoyed the new convictions album but i haven't listened again since it dropped, i'm gonna revisit that. new impending doom should be insane, i know they announced they're writing a new album and "christ is king" it an ass beater. i wish the new holyname EP was maybe a song longer.
    November 15 12:41 AM
  • sr388 dude glad you enjoyed the holyname record! it's such a unique project, almost meditative at points. i actually caught them live with convictions and impending doom last year, all of them killed it. did you peep the new holyname EP yet?
    November 15 12:30 AM
  • Emim Yeah I dig the whole aesthetic. Very deathcore while not being deathcore. And you should definitely give it a review of you feel inspired. They could use some love around here
    November 14 07:59 PM
  • Emim I really dig their guest spots too. The vocals on Preacher II get pretty crazy. Listening to the newer album now and yeah his gutturals are great. Not usually a beatdown fan but in smaller doses it gets me going
    November 14 07:31 PM
  • Emim Oh yeah Cultist is a good one. Really like their first album but haven't listened to the second one too much. If you like that maybe check out Mouth of the South. More melodic and pretty unknown
    November 14 07:16 PM
  • bellovddd I listen to the same s*** over and over but Gewn Stacy really been hitting lately.
    November 12 07:49 AM
  • artificialbox Ooh yeah I have been meaning to check that one out. I actually really enjoyed their last one which is surprising cause I never expected to like such a band, so I?m excited to see if this new one is even better. Will read your review and give the album a listen on my lunch break!
    November 11 05:04 PM
  • Emim I'm definitely due for another listen. I wasn't a huge fan of that style when it was possible so I wrote it off pretty quickly. For All Eternity is another similar one with a beastly vocalist
    November 10 07:07 PM
  • Emim Yeah that and Teeth are my favorites from that album
    November 10 04:52 PM
  • Emim It's very modern metalcore, lots of high pitched clean choruses, but it's done well overall. Mike is one of the best vocalists out there imo. I'd check the album I Won't Survive and if you like that keep going
    November 10 07:10 AM
  • Emim Oh ok, yeah that one didn't do a whole lot for me outside of the features. Not the biggest fan of the vocal style, which makes sense since I didn't care for Sleeping Giant either
    November 10 06:58 AM
  • Emim wtf shoutbox
    November 10 06:53 AM
  • Emim I haven't heard the new one outside of Stained Glass, which I did like.
    November 10 06:52 AM
  • Emim Have I rec'd Woe of Tyrants before? One of the best christcore bands
    November 10 06:15 AM
  • bellovddd hope you are doing well brother!
    November 8 10:59 AM
  • trilo still working thru recs but Cross Bringer rules very ahrd. reminds me a lot of The Secret/early Plebeian Grandstand.
    November 4 05:59 PM
  • artificialbox s*** dude, I'm glad you're starting to feel better. I gotta get back to working out too lol. Definitely as I get older I'm starting to realize the importance of rest and trying to reduce stress as much as possible. It takes so long to heal from things nowadays and being burnt out and stressed just makes it so much worse. I'm hoping for a happy healthy 2026 for both of us
    November 4 03:26 PM
  • artificialbox Yeah I do believe the reason there have been so many cases of people making contrib and then not producing anything is because they lose the dopamine motivation of getting a nice pos ratio lmao. life has been alright, I got mono in April and am still recovering from it, so my entire summer went down the drain and I defs put on a few cozy pounds but I am learning to just go easy on myself and listen to my body/give it what it needs to recover. How was your summer?
    November 3 05:44 PM
  • trilo ngl this year has kinda sucked overall so i?m looking for the same lol throw some recs my way if you got em. but Suffering Hour EP and Noise Trail Immersion LP are great. if you havent jammed either band i?d recommend The Cycling Reckoning and Symbology of Shelter respectively tho. amazing albums
    November 3 04:04 PM
  • jrlikestodance Been meaning to check that out after the singer's guest spot on the Daoboys album. Definitely will give it a jam soon based on your co sign, sounds right up my alley
    November 3 03:25 PM
  • Emim Went through a ton of lineup changes. I think only one member is original but I'm not sure
    November 3 02:33 AM
  • Emim They've got some corny lyrics at times but overall pretty solid. Just stick with the albums with the current vocalist, the older stuff is a mixed bag
    November 2 09:53 PM
  • artificialbox oh **** also just saw you 4.5'd the new Pygmy Lush album. that rules. I wrote a review for that one when it came out, maybe i'll post it here
    November 2 05:41 PM
  • artificialbox Oh hahaha that makes more sense. I?ll definitely think about it. I?ve been posting goofy reviews under an alt and am having fun being at the mercy of the pos/neg system again ? As far as 2025 recs go, one of my all time favs has been Mirrored Life by By A Thread. Late 90s/early 2000s post hardcore comeback that is wonderful. New Snocaps albus is great too if you?re a fan of Waxahatchee
    November 2 04:28 PM
  • trilo i forgot i can?t use emojis on sput the question mark was a handshake lol but likewise bro appreciate you helping keep this ancient site from having its last gasp em slash
    November 2 04:25 PM
  • Emim You ever check out Diamonds to Dust? Fairly routine deathcore but the vocalist is a monster. The song Corpus Christi is where I'd start
    November 1 11:31 PM
  • artificialbox I?ll definitely be around more often moving forward. I miss this place and I kinda cut ties with that other group of ex-staffers for reasons I won?t get into here (its nothing crazy anyway). I?d defs be down to collab some day, I?m not sure how that would work logistically but it could be a fun experiment!
    November 1 06:56 PM
  • trilo real recognize mfin real ?
    November 1 01:52 PM
  • artificialbox just stopping by to say whats up! glad to see you've been plugging away with the reviews. just read your algernon one and it was a great read. i don't have much interest in listening to the album but I saw them live in seattle a year ago and they were fun to watch. anyway hope youre doin well!
    November 1 12:17 AM

    October 26 05:10 AM
  • Wildcardbitchesss Nice man! glad you dug it? def give the individual bands a look. 2020 by Shin Guard is legit one of my favorite screamo albums ever, pretty much on the level of the material in the split. For Your Health has only gotten better to me, the record they dropped this year is some seriously good s***.
    October 25 02:58 AM
  • RVAHC13 I just noticed you and I posted our first reviews on the same day lol
    October 22 02:36 AM
  • climactic that warms my heart lol. btw CONGRATS on contrib, well deserved! old Armed stuff (Untitled album) is more straightforward hardcore but they always had a noisy experimental edge. new one's as good a starting point as any but i think people love the Untitler album the most. i'll check the grenadier album, glad its not racist lol although the band name does seem to be from an Argo song hmmmmm
    October 16 08:20 PM
  • bellovddd jam slick rick with me brother. the goat.
    October 15 10:34 AM
  • climactic yooo whats up man, good to hear from you. i'm doing alright, hope you are as well! truthfully i have been slacking majorly on new releases this year, been mad busy and just havent been checking much new stuff out. i'm a big fan of the new viagra boys album if you havent checked it. also the new one from the Armed is cool, chaotic noise rock/punk stuff with some catchy hooks and sick production. surprised not to see them in your ratings at all
    October 14 08:38 PM
  • Muzz79 Give new Amorphis a spin if you haven?t already and take with a pinch of salt
    October 14 12:31 AM
  • bellovddd your reviews have been very tasty lately. keep it going brother. Ye I feel the more modern stuff you kind of get it or you dont, and I do not lmao.
    October 12 12:08 PM
  • ScuroFantasma Yeah Roman Saenko is the main driver of both
    October 12 05:30 AM
  • ScuroFantasma For sure man, if you?re a Drudkh fan you?ll dig em!
    October 12 02:53 AM
  • ScuroFantasma Oh man you probably know more of them than me haha, I dropped off a few months ago from new releases so catching up is also my agenda but uhhh new Hate Forest was great if you missed that?
    October 12 02:25 AM
  • ScuroFantasma Yeah this is sick, got it on rotation and it?ll easily make my top 10 this year at this rate. Phenomenal.
    October 12 02:09 AM
  • ScuroFantasma Wow okay so I was expecting something Marduk-esque but it?s actually super melody driven. Really cool stuff, loving it on a first spin.
    October 12 01:31 AM
  • Muzz79 On it futures. I did play one track the other night and detected old school Amon Amarth but need to give it some full attention
    October 11 11:25 PM
  • JMNewcomer25 ban me ****** jom no balls u wont
    October 10 12:36 PM
  • bellovddd I feel like my reviews focused on how I felt about the music and not about the music itself! You jam much hip hop???
    October 10 11:23 AM
  • ScuroFantasma Hey bro long time no speak, that Grendadier album looks right up my alley actually, gonna chuck it on now and give it a whirl. How are things?
    October 10 02:39 AM
  • Jurtz You've made my day, thank you!
    October 9 06:25 AM
  • Static it's @georgerolandallen hmu baby boy
    October 9 12:58 AM
  • TheSonomaDude anthrax put on an insane live show when I last saw them. they probably sound the best live out of any of the Big 4. when you doing your review for hawks? I'm doing mine right now
    October 9 12:50 AM
  • TheSonomaDude also, good luck with endgame, that's lowkey top 3 megadave
    October 9 12:42 AM
  • TheSonomaDude hope your megadeth binge is fun, I just revisited them a few months ago and am perfectly hyped for their final album. personally I think anthrax are pretty underrated, they get singled out of the Big 4 for being the band that shouldn't be there, but they have some bangers
    October 9 12:42 AM
  • Static But yeah s*** was rough and s*** is still rough but in a healthier and different way now. Thanks for thinking of me
    October 9 12:06 AM
  • Static I wanted to see what horrible s*** people were saying about the new Taylor Swift lol. I'm on Instagram only now if you got one
    October 9 12:06 AM
  • bellovddd ye writing reviews is very hard especially good ones. hence why I stopped doing them lol. I hope you're enjoying yourself brother!
    October 8 08:45 AM
  • Static Think about you every time I listen to jimmy eat world baby! Was listening to The Middle with my daughter and she seemed to appreciate it. She's not a big static prevails girl tho
    October 8 12:39 AM
  • Static ??
    October 8 12:38 AM
  • Pennywise_M Will definitely check it out!I feel there's been an influx of decent bands over the years, but very few actually worth writing home about. If you check my recent ratings out you'll understand I haven't been too big on deathcore myself.Yeah man, I do remember Betray, Nocturnal, Eulogize and others. It used to be me, you and a bunch of these guys hopped on every damn deathcore thread and had like 5 distinct instances of banter and discussions on this stuff, haha. Good days
    October 7 09:54 PM
  • Static Sup boj
    October 7 12:07 AM
  • bellovddd surviving good sir. how does it go for you?
    October 6 11:32 PM
  • Pennywise_M Pahaha yeah man, I've been here all these years. Mostly stopped commenting stuff but I come here nearly every day. Top 3 deathcore bands to come up in the last 10 years? Go!
    October 5 12:38 PM
  • RVAHC13 Lol I enjoy the punk side of emo (Jawbreaker, HWM, early Alkaline Trio) but I wouldnt say Im the biggest fan of the midwest math rock stuff. CFD is like right on the cusp for me
    October 4 02:41 PM
  • JMNewcomer25 ight gtg pce
    October 3 01:16 PM
  • TheSonomaDude you jam anthrax yet?
    October 2 09:23 PM
  • bellovddd hiiiiiiiiiiiii
    September 29 11:56 AM
  • Keyblade this is why I don't rock with Amon Amarth anymore lol. their discography stops in 2008 as far as I'm concerned lol
    September 23 09:26 PM
  • Lasssie Will probably check the new Algernon sometime this week and i will get back to you then! It wont be pretty!
    September 23 06:51 PM
  • Lasssie Youre def a part of filling that void to keep this site alive! Liked your Algernon review but i havent dared listen to it yet because im afraid it will not live up to expectations (as you suggest) haha!
    September 23 05:29 PM
  • Lasssie Been an avid runner for years so for the first time ever i trembled on a root or a stone or something and really fell hard on my left side! Getting better each day thankfully!I can see that! Hopefully u get some early access to some good albums up for review eventually! It is thanks to u and the other staff for keeping this site alive now after we lost so many here this past summer!
    September 21 04:29 PM
  • Lasssie Congrats again, dude! Well deserved! Been generally good but recovering from a concussion so i get time to enjoy music but my eyes and head still need time to get used to screens and much light again! How about u?
    September 20 10:25 AM
  • Muzz79 Hooks man hooks
    September 20 12:36 AM
  • Keyblade oh man they have a bunch of good ones. they have different eras too, like the early doom metal era, then they switched to like this depressive rock then started getting more and more metal. the vocalist kept getting better with time too
    September 19 09:54 PM
  • Keyblade no worries man and agreed, I've been doing that too. Katatonia was a recent one I went through and it was really fun. Megadeth is def at the top of my list now
    September 19 05:46 PM
  • Lasssie Yo! Felt it was about time for me to bug you about checking out Children of The Moon by State Faults again!
    September 19 08:43 AM
  • Muzz79 Didnt think I would either ha. But I do melodic metalcore in amongst everything else and thats a good un. Others Ive dug this year are balance breach and the five hundred
    September 18 11:41 AM
  • Keyblade Metallica also got me into metal and was just about the only thrash band I could stand. definitely gonna give Megadeth another go. maybe newly released music is not for me anymore but going back and hearing stuff I missed or overlooked might just be the way for me now
    September 12 06:46 PM
  • Keyblade oh man that's right, they're doing the farewell tour. you know, Megadeth has always been a blind spot for me (and just thrash in general tbh). I think maybe I didn't like Mustaine's voice back in the day. I've always been meaning to revisit. but to be honest I don't really jam anything exciting anymore lol. I figure I've consumed enough music to last me a lifetime during my heyday here, and I just revisit a lot of albums mostly. right now the new Clipse is hitting for me tho
    September 11 09:07 PM
  • Keyblade my man. what u jamming?
    September 11 03:07 AM
  • jrlikestodance I got a list of albums I'm debating for my first. The one good thing about writing papers constantly is I've got a lot better at writing
    September 11 01:15 AM
  • Celestinaught Of course I am insecure! That is why I try. Do you not want to learn?
    September 11 12:49 AM
  • Celestinaught Hello friend I come in peace, it is not our fault that we are still struggling to write. If you give me advice on how to be less bad, I can do the same!
    September 11 12:31 AM
  • RVAHC13 Right back at you x10 thank you sir!
    September 10 09:49 PM
  • jrlikestodance Love you too man, we will keep this place going til the end! Also congrats on Contributor, so well deserved. I really need to get my hands on some reviews but grad school is whooping me lately
    September 10 07:57 PM
  • AlexKzillion hahaha yeah just did not have the time for it anymore and felt kinda awkward/guilty about it.... wait i see someone is a contributor now?????????? niceee broo
    September 4 09:00 PM
  • Emim At the beginning is fine, but Dimensions is probably their best. It's all good though
    September 4 04:39 PM
  • bellovddd offttt mr contrib. I am not worthy!!
    September 3 12:05 PM
  • JMNewcomer25 ****y jom ban me no balls
    September 1 11:43 PM
  • budgie necromantic forces - under the threshold of consciousness
    August 28 05:07 AM
  • Emim Man I haven't listened to Megadeth in many moons lol. Did have a little Pantera binge though
    August 28 12:51 AM
  • Emim Also that Vianova album I rated is wacky and awesome
    August 27 01:29 AM
  • Emim I've been good man, just busy lately. Glad you liked that Renounced record. Been listening to so much of them recently. Still need to check Harkonen out but I'll do that soon
    August 27 01:14 AM
  • budgie and there are some vids pre KIMB days when the dude kerry from slayer was in his band and they were playin early versions of songs that would come out on peace sells
    August 23 05:56 AM
  • budgie the '88 show in essen and the '86 show in detroit
    August 23 05:55 AM
  • budgie for a random person who doesnt care about thrash metal no its not gonna blow their mind but if you are really a megadeth fan i think youd be super fascinated. he talks about when he picks up guitar for the first time, doing backyard shows in his earlier garage bands, selling drugs to bikers, his time in metallica, how he started up with junior etc. its pretty dark and depressing though he doesnt sugarcoat how s***ty it was back then. henry rollins' get in the van memoir was real similar if youve
    August 23 05:54 AM
  • budgie its the one that came out in 2010 called heavy metal memoir or somethin
    August 23 05:42 AM
  • budgie watch some live vids of them from their pre RIP days, lotta fun. also dave's first book talks about the early days it's super interesting
    August 23 05:41 AM
  • budgie awesome dude lol. peace sells will always get my respect as the greatest metal album ever recorded. it's not always my favorite but it's the best period lol
    August 23 05:40 AM
  • Rowhaus Shot over to Asia for about a little over month. Saw China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand. It was such a great trip too holy s*** the people were so friendly.
    August 22 09:37 PM
  • Rowhaus Not dead, just doing my global expedition lol
    August 22 09:15 PM
  • botb Huge blues and jazz and old rock and roll guy. Got me into nerdy prog s*** too.
    August 19 12:27 AM
  • botb I?m lucky enough to have all of his records in my possession. He instilled my love of music in me and was a drummer as well. So when things are a little less raw emotionally I plan to spin all of them. Thanks for the kind words man, appreciate you
    August 18 06:30 PM
  • jrlikestodance They are seriously great. I?m still wrapping up the discog myself but their run from Politics to Godless is seriously great metal. Also was surprised at the amount of moshy riffs and breakdowns they had for such a more melodic type band. Really think you will dig em
    August 11 02:00 PM
  • jrlikestodance I'll rec you Nevermore's Dreaming Neon Black because I have really been in to them lately. It's equal parts melodic, prog and thrash metal but the songwriting and riffs just so good. Jeff Loomis is quickly becoming one of my fav guitar players and Warrel Dane's vocals are one of a kind. Closest thing they remind me of is King Diamond but really are their own beast
    August 11 03:03 AM
  • jrlikestodance I've been meaning to check more ambient stuff out in general and never listened to Low before so I will def give that a shot. Thanks brother!
    August 11 01:28 AM
  • jrlikestodance Feel you on being burnt out on music a bit. I feel like I need some kind of palette cleanser out of my usual wheelhouse to feel a bit more motivated on checking stuff out. Mostly been sticking to core and hip hop
    August 10 11:49 PM
  • jrlikestodance Been doing good man! Just wrapped up summer semester, slowly getting back in the gym and enjoying a little break before fall. How is everything with you? Also unrelated, but have you heard The Arcanum Order by At the Throne of Judgment? Think it'd be up your alley if you haven't jammed
    August 10 02:09 AM
  • hanging in there brother the best I can!!
    August 5 08:49 AM
  • Lasssie Glad u dug it!I only got a old pressing of Clarity which i love. Back there this weekend so im very close to buying static haha. Now you only need to check Children of the Moon;) best modern skramz record hands down. Know the runtime May seem jarring but believe me it just goes by so fast. Two or three of the tracks are also becoming all timers for me
    August 2 09:21 AM
  • bellovddd hope you're well brother
    July 30 11:05 AM
  • Lasssie Was also vinyl hunting in Oslo last weekend and i saw a first pressing of JEW - Static Prevails and i wanted it so bad but it was too expensive lol
    July 29 06:44 AM
  • Lasssie Must get to it! Been busy and not in the mood for DM right now, but finally got to check Birds In Row and holy cow ive been missing out! Youve probably heard them, but man.. soo good. Ive yet to check out their last album but the first two floored me
    July 29 06:43 AM
  • Lasssie Italy is awesome man! Never been but who doesnt love the food and italian movies? Yeah i was thinkin on either Suffocation or Gorguts but now leaning more towards Suffocation! Larsen, Olsen and Hansen are so overused and basic haha love it
    July 19 03:28 PM
  • Keyblade I've been good man, kinda just shut off the internet while I got my life together. didn't regret it at all except for this site. looking back at all my lists and ratings and seeing all my old buddies and it's basically recorded history. hoping to stay for good this time
    July 18 02:25 AM
  • Lasssie Dope man! Haha, it is always so funny for me when i see or hear americans with norwegian names, but mostly because of the pronounciations. French canadian is a cool mix! My gf is part french so i really want to go there someday. And dope Cryptopsy rating btw. Checked that one out recently too and it goes so hard. I want to check more DM tbh
    July 17 07:47 AM
  • Emim I haven't listened to the debut, but Theories of Despair is super good. I'll check that other one
    July 16 11:29 PM
  • Emim You should check out Renounced bro
    July 16 10:20 PM
  • Lasssie Cool! I have distant relatives in the states but never been. I know my great grandfathers brother moved there (to Minnesota or Dakota i believe). I recently also learned one of his daughters died in the Ides of March Blizzard along with a friend, which sounded like a devastating loss. Would love to go someday but man travelling isnt cheap! You have norwegian ancestry too or is it just common there?
    July 16 06:51 PM
  • Lasssie Yeah, i mean Norway is a good place so i wont complain. Only thing is that everything is getting expensive here lol! And where are you from? Yeah will def hit u up next time i decide on writing something, dude :)
    July 14 05:57 PM
  • Lasssie From norway, man:) Def check that album out and maybe i will take you up on that offer if i have somre spare time to write something next week! And i will keep bugging you to check Children of the Moon by State Faults!
    July 12 07:38 AM
  • Lasssie You should def write more! Youre good at it! I should write a little more myself but since english aint my main language it can feel a bit like a challange to write good with confidence! Listening to the new Nuvolascura and seeing it havent got a review got me thinking a bit about making a lil writeup but we`ll see;)
    July 11 07:08 PM
  • artificialbox the review is great man, I really enjoyed reading it. I can sense your passion for the band which is awesome, and I especially appreciate the context and knowledge you bring to the beginning. I've only listened to the record like two or three times so far but it ****ing rules. Need to listen to it more but I've been too obsessed with this Lagrimas record I just found that released last year. One of the best emocrust records I've ever heard.
    July 9 12:16 AM
  • Lasssie Yeah, man, thanks sure did! Met my gf`s mom for the first time and it went very well! Also checked out the Deadguy album. s*** goes hard for sure. But need to listen to it more to be sure if it is just a vibe or if it has songs that get stuck in my head! Been jammin Secret
    July 8 05:57 PM
  • JayEnder Can confirm new Deadguy rips bro. Yeah I ashamedly never even heard of these guys. Pretty wild their last album dropped 30 years ago lol gonna have to check that one too!
    July 8 01:23 AM
  • Lasssie Will check that out and read your review! Was on a trip this weekend so was offline for a couple of days ;)
    July 7 11:21 AM
  • mkmusic1995 Just gave it a read, great work my friend! Very thorough but not overly long, just a well-paced review for a band that I'm definitely going to have to check out now!
    July 3 05:31 PM
  • JayEnder More like lack of Future LMFAO. Nah man I'm doing pretty great lately despite everything here falling apart, how the hell are ya? What have you been jamming lately? Love that No Wings rating, such a slept on EP. Wish Hopesfall would come back :[
    July 2 05:35 PM
  • IAmScott no one's but i'll take guesses
    July 2 01:19 PM
  • Emim I haven't had a chance to listen in full, but I jammed the singles quite a bit.
    July 2 04:19 AM
  • Hyperion1001 hey man, he won a championship!
    July 1 06:15 PM
  • Hyperion1001 real big news for them. all these eastern conference teams saw Tatum and hali go down and they?re all in. i love it.
    July 1 05:27 PM
  • Hyperion1001 holy s*** bucks are makin moves.
    July 1 03:22 PM
  • Lasssie The Lower Definition album is def something to check out! for me the State Faults album was a total game changer and an instant 5! It is long but it flies by. Two of the songs on that thing are all timers for real ;)
    July 1 02:56 PM
  • Lasssie Browsing through your ratings now and i must be wrong but you havent rated or head State Faults - Children of the Moon??
    July 1 05:50 AM
  • Lasssie Oh my god yes! Of Machines is so good and it is such a shame they only had one album! Few bands can do that DGD style right but they do. Bands that give me Jonny Craig vibes vocally are Lower Definition and even He Is Legend on tracks like The Greatest Actor Alive or Dead but im sure youve heard those!
    July 1 05:48 AM
  • mkmusic1995 For sure man, I stay as far away from drama as I can! Looking forward to seeing some of your work popping up in the feed!
    June 30 08:07 PM
  • Lasssie Word! My hopes for the Andrew era are not high after that All The Way Down single. So bad.. Best album with Tilian was AS but that is because it probably was intended for Craig lol. Been really digging Eveporate lately for some reason. There are some good songs here and there but almost all Tilian albums suffers from having maybe 3 good songs or so and the rest being awful and skippable
    June 30 07:00 PM
  • Frippertronics cheers boss
    June 30 06:17 PM
  • Hyperion1001 same brother. gearing up for college ball. go cocks.
    June 30 06:10 PM
  • Hyperion1001 never, I can?t be trusted with power. if they wanna see true authoritarian leadership, they can make me mod lmao.
    June 30 05:39 PM
  • bellovddd thanks brother ill be round here as long as I can be! You'll still have someone to bask in all the cheesy metalcore!!
    June 30 08:23 AM
  • Lasssie Same! Me and my best bro from those years still talk way too much about that album, how good it is and how great a DBM III would be even if it will never happen lol. one of those albums that ofc have nostalgia attached to it but its greatness goes beyond just that. Been trying to give the tilian era another shot again lately but im still not able to get that into it
    June 29 01:06 PM
  • nash1311 Yep I wish they brought Wade back too haha
    June 29 03:03 AM
  • artificialbox thanks dude, I appreciate that. I'll hopefully still be around but it's probably best to take a break for a little bit and let things cool down. I'm sure people will be back to m/enposting in no time.
    June 29 12:10 AM
  • brickhed not gonna lie i've been giving waking the cadaver a chance and its kinda growing on me. been listening to beyond cops. beyond god. a few times and it's fully clicked with me. i really like the gutturals, the slams use a lot of palm muting (which i really like), and the drumming is crazy.
    June 28 05:55 PM
  • Lasssie Hell yeah bro! Looking at your 5s and 4.5s makes me think you may be right about that! Loving that DBM 5 as well!
    June 28 07:05 AM
  • AtomicWaste That's the great thing about music, man. I'm sorry to hear it's been rough but very glad you've kept going! That's the important part!
    June 28 12:27 AM
  • AtomicWaste Thanks man I remember you too of course. Doing pretty well in real life outside of this - how's by you?
    June 28 12:14 AM
  • nash1311 Make LSU basketball great again *cries*. It?s so bad lol
    June 27 06:31 AM
  • nash1311 Then please tell me you watched the CWS??? Sooo good. Found out Kade Anderson?s parents live near some of my family haha. Wild. Yeah I have a buddy who is high on Queen, and like I see a lot of upside but I agree like? trading an unprotected first is not the play lol. Like honestly I?d rather us have just taken Queen at 7 and passed on Fears. I agree he has upside but his lack of shooting and less than savory assist to TO ratio makes me eh on him. But he is young so we?ll see
    June 27 05:47 AM
  • nash1311 Why you gotta just hit me right in the face with the truth like that
    June 27 05:42 AM
  • nash1311 I am?? yes?. But it gets harder every day lol
    June 27 05:28 AM
  • Hawks Check my new blog post!!! :]
    June 26 06:40 PM

    June 22 07:14 PM
  • Keyblade that's great to hear man. I remember you being MIA for a while there, and I knew u were ill. seeing your name in my shoutbox made me happy. we made so many good memories on this site
    June 21 05:33 PM
  • Emim Oh I had no idea that's dope. Some new haste the day and phinehas would be nice
    June 21 04:37 AM
  • Emim Yeah that's a classic band for sure. The albums after the first two are decent too. I remember liking Hell or High Water
    June 21 04:15 AM
  • Emim Speaking christcore, you ever listen to saving grace? Been binging their first album lately. Some hard riffing core
    June 21 04:05 AM
  • Emim Alright I shot you an email. Discord or reddit would probably be the easiest for sharing stuff and messaging
    June 21 03:32 AM
  • Emim Yeah for sure man, I was literally thinking about it this morning. Any preferred method?
    June 21 03:18 AM
  • jrlikestodance Same dude you're one of my Sput favs. Would love too stay in touch
    June 21 02:30 AM
  • Keyblade aw man it's good to see u bro, hope you've been well
    June 21 02:30 AM

    June 21 02:12 AM
  • jrlikestodance Of course man. What's the best way to keep in touch? I'm off a good majority of social media lately
    June 21 01:58 AM
  • artificialbox that looks very interesting, and pretty recent too. hell maybe I?ll watch it tonight!
    June 14 09:17 PM
  • Feather Check wake the dead (first btf single that was released over a year back). It?s a banger ?mallcore? song
    June 14 02:20 PM
  • artificialbox I have been out of the loop with new releases for almost a decade but some of my all time favourites are stuff like The Deer Hunter, Ordinary People, The Road, Le Feu Follet. Always been fond of depressing dramas lol.
    June 14 01:56 AM
  • artificialbox that does sound like a good ass day damn. you've inspired me to check what playing near me. there's this one theatre I really like going to cause if you go for a late showing you have to walk through a dark empty mall to get to it and its so spooky lol
    June 14 01:17 AM
  • artificialbox appreciate you man. what movies have you seen lately? Last time I was at a theatre was to see that LotR animated movie War of the Rohirrim which SUCKED but it was still awesome to go to a movie theatre and binge on popcorn and soda.
    June 13 11:35 PM
  • artificialbox thanks dude! I?ve been alright. Been sick and stressed a lot this year but y?know? trying to get out of the house and keep my mind occupied as much as possible. How bout you?
    June 13 10:07 PM
  • Hawks Niiice lol. Yeah I feel that. Been trying to get all of my ratings on RYM too but its hard lol.
