Keygen Church
Embryonic Slumber

Alkilith The Shores of Evermeet
I really hoped this will be good (I rarely see truly Dungeons and Dragons inspired dungeon synth), but it was rather disappointing. Like every second song consist melodies "played on the white keys" on the keyboard + some tape hiss... and that is extremly lazy, and I hate that attitude.
Pyre of Black Roses Demo I
I don't get what's the point of recording an atmoblack demo to a rotten potato, intentionally... Lo-fi BM can have a magical aura, but when you rape your sound like this, that is unacceptable. Near zero enjoyment. Do you feel kvlt, soft shites?
Realms in Exile Anghabar: Iron Delvings
Really enjoyable fantasy drone album. Deep drones and minimalistic percussions: perfect background music for working.
Wydraddear The Castle Above The Mist
Slowly flowing, grim and melancholic and most importantly: unique. Wydraddear's debut is something else, a dungeon synth album which built covered itself with an atmosphere I haven't heard before, and built it from old-school-ish sounds. It's not easy to capture what is it exactly by words, you have to experience it by yourself.
Impaled Nazarene Nihil
Fairly standard black metal album which runs on high tempo from the very beginning until to the very end (so pretty much like an Immortal album). Quite melodic and they even did some fine solos too. Moreover, this had some really De Mysteriis-alike moments, which was a huge improvement from the previous few albums. Alexi Laiho was great (RIP). I have no idea why did they include "Assault The Weak", because that song was simply horrible...
Impaled Nazarene Rapture
Triptykon Melana Chasmata
Unlike Triptykon's impressive debut, Melana Chasmata has far less excitement to offer. I can't say it is not any good, because Tom G. Warrior rarely wrote anything boring. This album just doesn't have that spark, that spirit what I expected. Other than songs like "Altar of Deceit" and "In the Sleep of Death" this was a rather forgettable experience.

  • Pho3nix I understand. And yea "copycat army" is a good way to put it! I feel the vaporwave scene also suffers from this. Oh definitely! :] I've found some cool stuff from your lists man.
